What a doozy! I knew this one would be interesting when I saw that Rob Roselli had recently talked with someone who suggested that Trump was chosen by the Christian god to clean out the deep state, and I was not disappointed. We mostly discussed the deep state, the Federal Reserve, and power, but we got derailed for about 10-15 minutes into a discussion about natural selection and cosmology, prompted by Rob calling evolution "the greatest scam in history." I could not leave that unchallenged. Rob returned this week for a much longer discussion about evolution and cosmology. Stay tuned for that!

Crossing Faiths

In this episode of Crossing Faiths, Rabbi Aaron Zimmer and Rabbi Eli Feder discuss their endeavor to explore the relationship between science and religion, specifically focusing on using physics to argue for the existence of God. Motivated by a desire to reconcile modern scientific understanding with religious belief, they challenge the notion that science and faith are incompatible. The rabbis introduce the concept of "fine-tuning" in physics, arguing that the precise mathematical constants governing the universe suggest an intelligent designer rather than random chance. They critically examine the multiverse theory as an alternative explanation, presenting it as a less plausible scientific hypothesis. Drawing on their backgrounds in Talmudic study and scientific research, Zimmer and Feder aim to provide a rigorous, accessible argument for God's existence by demonstrating the improbability of our universe's precise conditions arising by accident. Their approach combines deep scientific analysis with the ability to communicate complex ideas in understandable terms, ultimately seeking to offer people a rational framework for understanding faith in the modern world. Elie Feder earned a PhD in mathematics from the CUNY Graduate Center and received Rabbinic ordination from his rebbe, Rabbi Yisrael Chait. Since 2004, Elie has been a mathematics professor at Kingsborough Community College and a maggid shiur at Yeshiva Bnei Torah. He has published many papers and delivered numerous talks on graph theory, which is his field of mathematical research. As a teacher, Elie has a passion for simplifying complex topics for his students. Recently, he authored a book “Gematria Refigured,” which presents a rational, nonmystical approach to gematria as a tool of uncovering the significance of quantity and fine tuning in Torah, life, and the universe. Elie hosts the Gematria Refigured+ and the Physics to God podcasts. He resides in Far Rockaway, New York, with his wife and their four children. After earning a physics degree and receiving rabbinical ordination from his rebbe, Rabbi Yisrael Chait, Aaron Zimmer considered furthering his education through graduate school. However, his intellectual curiosity extended far beyond the realm of physics, encompassing a diverse array of fields, including philosophy, mathematics, and psychology. Capitalizing on his blend of analytical and philosophical skills, Aaron utilized his personal resources to venture into commodity futures trading. This endeavor involved commodities such as oil, natural gas, cotton, sugar, and coffee. His strategic approach was deeply rooted in the conceptual frameworks of physics and the intricate Brisker Method for Talmudic analysis. After an eleven-year career marked by success in commodity trading, Aaron decided to retire. In his retirement, Aaron channels his intellectual energy into studying various branches of knowledge, including the Talmud, philosophy, and physics. He co-hosts the Physics to God podcast and resides in Lawrence, New York, along with his wife and their five children. Ever wondered how a biblical worldview can shape your life and deepen your faith? In this episode, Pastor Ken Senchal dives into what it means to have a worldview rooted in God's truth. He explores how understanding our perspective—and those of others—can help us live a life that glorifies God and spreads His love. - Understanding Worldviews: Your worldview shapes how you see the world. Pastor Ken breaks down the key elements of a biblical worldview—God-centered, creation-oriented, and grounded in the truth of salvation through Christ. This worldview defines our purpose as glorifying God and living out His commands. - Embracing the Fullness of God's Word: We're reminded that following God's Word means embracing all of it, not just the parts that are convenient. Acts 20:27 calls us to accept the whole counsel of God. - Engaging with Other Worldviews: Pastor Ken takes us through different worldviews, explaining how understanding them can help us share the hope of Jesus with gentleness and respect, as instructed in 1 Peter 3:15. -Science and Faith in Harmony: Did you know that science can actually deepen your faith? Listen as Pastor Ken discusses how leading Christian scientists view the harmony between science and a biblical worldview, pointing to an intelligent Designer behind the universe. - Why the Bible Can Be Trusted: Romans 1:18-20 is our anchor as we explore the reliability and transformative power of Scripture. Pastor Ken explains why the Bible is the ultimate guide to life's biggest questions. A biblical worldview offers answers and comfort, especially in life's toughest moments. Tune in to discover how you can live out a worldview rooted in God's truth, finding hope and purpose through Jesus Christ. ---

Creationism Disproves Evolution Dr. Kent Hovind Dr. Kent Hovind has been preaching the Gospel for over 50 years as a pastor and evangelist and has had over 350 debates against atheists. He is the founder the “Dinosaur Adventure Land” in Lennox, Alabama. I've been looking forward to our discussion today… for those that have followed me, you know that I love sharing information with you on these topics of disproving the stuff being taught today about the earth being billions upon billions of years old. I believe exactly what the Bible says and I believe the earth and everything else was formed exactly as the Bible says…and we have had other experts on in the past that provided insights in this area that backs up that proof. Amen! With that being said, help me welcome to the program, Dr. Kent Hovind! Dr. Kent, thank you for taking the time to join us today! First question I always start with is this… other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Dr. Kent Hovind?” How did you get involved with debating those who oppose the Creationist point of view from the Bible? How did you get started with the “Dinosaur Adventure Land?” What do you believe is the most compelling evidence for the Creation Theory? I interviewed an archeologist who is also a geologist several years back. He brought up an excellent contradiction to the evolutionary theorist by using something that happened in recent history – Mt. St. Helen's eruption. He said scientists went in and took some of the trees that had been burned and covered in several dozen feet of ash… as the wind and rain eroded some of the ash, they were able to dig down a bit and find these trees. They did carbon dating on these trees…that had been alive just 7-10 years prior to this – and the carbon dating came back as something like 10,000 years old. If I remember correctly, they hypothesize that the sudden rise in the temperature coupled with immediately being buried by feet of ash and the pressure, etc… caused the erroneous readings. He has used that in his presentations of the errors in the evolutionist theory. You also did calculations on the tides of the earth and how that would also account for petrified forests, etc. prior to the flood. You also share how the Grand Canyon was formed quickly, not over millions of years as science teaches. Share that with us… One thing I love to bring up in a debate… I have not conducted formal debates like you have… I'll rephrase that to a “discussion” is this… When man landed on the moon, what did they find? Nothing! Edwin Aldrin described it as a “magnificent desolation.” They found no life; no plants; no water; no atmosphere – nothing. Why? Because the moon was not made for man – earth was? Who made the earth? Go to Genesis 1 and find out! Praise God! Everything GOOD was created for man by God. All the other stuff, the moon, stars, comets, etc. – is lifeless because man was not supposed to go and live there… Your thoughts on that? You have guests that come to visit you on the “Dinosaur Adventure Land.” You advertise it is free for them to stay? What kind of interesting things will they see when they visit? Dr. Hovind, this so interesting and needful for the day and time we live. If someone wanted to get more information, maybe to ask a question or possibly to do an interview such as this… how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with you? You are also, as you said, able to offer all of these things at the “Dinosaur Adventure Land,” including overnight accommodations for

Centuries ago, Augustine of Hippo said it was "disgraceful and dangerous" for a nonbeliever to hear Christians spouting nonsense about science. Today, as young age creationists work to promote their views, many Christians think we're nothing but an embarrassment to the cause of Christ and a stumbling block to the gospel. In this episode, Paul and Todd chat with Stephen Lloyd of Biblical Creation Trust as they push back on this negative stereotype. Stephen thinks young-age creationist beliefs can actually be an advantage in witnessing. Listen to this latest episode to find out how!

Good, bible believing Christians should just automatically be Republicans. Everybody knows this.Have you heard that sort of argument or been led to believe that this is just the "biblical" way? If so, that probably means you've been given a hearty serving of propaganda. Our friend and philosopher, Scott Coley, wrote "Ministers of Propaganda: Truth, Power and the Ideology of the Religious Right", and in it, Scott exposes the rhetoric of the religious right for what it often is - propaganda that serves an underlying motivation. In this episode, we chat with Scott about how everything from politics to science to gender and racial issues and more are propagandized by the religious right to build fear and shut down arguments. MN lawmaker: Public schools engage in 'censorship' by not teaching CreationismThe Friendly Atheist, By Hemant Mehta, on May 07, 2024https://www.friendlyatheist.com/p/mn-lawmaker-public-schools-engageIn this episode  the hosts discuss a heated debate over an education bill in Minnesota, introduced by Republican State Senator Glenn Grunhagen. The bill, known as SF 3567, aims to prevent book banning by school districts. However, Grunhagen opposes a section of the bill that would allow parents and librarians to restrict material for students, provided the restrictions are not based on viewpoint or content.Grunhagen, a known climate change denier and Christian nationalist, argues that liberals support censorship when it suits their agenda. He draws a parallel between this bill and the exclusion of creationism from science classes, framing both as censorship. Grunhagen's background and previous attempts to introduce creationist views into school curricula are discussed, highlighting his persistent efforts to infuse his religious beliefs into public education.Cynthia critiques Grunhagen's flawed reasoning, pointing out his reliance on outdated creationist arguments like the cosmological argument and the watchmaker analogy. She shares a personal anecdote about her past belief in similar reasoning and underscores the importance of teaching evolution and critical thinking skills in schools. The conversation shifts to the bill's implications. While some see it as a necessary measure to protect intellectual freedom, others worry about its potential to limit children's access to diverse information. The hosts agree that critical thinking and access to information are crucial for students' development. They debate whether decisions about educational content should rest with individuals or committees, emphasizing the need for oversight to prevent biased decision-making.Jimmy expands on the broader political context, noting the rise of aggressive tactics and mob-like behavior among certain conservative factions. He underscores the importance of maintaining a separation between religion and government, lamenting the influence of figures like David Barton, who distort historical and scientific facts to fit their agendas.Cynthia echoes these concerns, expressing hope that rationality will prevail but acknowledging the persistent push from certain groups to undermine scientific education. She highlights the broader societal implications of this trend, warning that replacing factual education with religious ideology could hinder future generations' ability to navigate an increasingly complex world. The episode wraps up with a reflection on the importance of qualified oversight in educational decisions, ensuring that children's access to knowledge is not unduly restricted by individual biases. The hosts agree that while the bill has its flaws, its intent to safeguard intellectual freedom is a step in the right direction. The Non-Prophets, Episode 23.22.2 featuring Kelley Laughlin, Eli Slack, Jimmy Jr. and Cynthia McDonaldBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.
