Are you looking for the best book marketing strategies? Have you considered paid book marketing services? Then, the founder of Written Word Media, Ferol Vernon, has some insights about his company, what authors should do when promoting their books, and what authors should do to get better results with their book promotions. Written Word Media - https://www.writtenwordmedia.com/
Vernon grew up in an entrepreneurial family: His father ran a hotel, and his mother was an artist. His introduction to running a business started when his father told him, "I'm done mowing the lawn; it's your job now." Vernon and his wife "bet the farm" and took the plunge into entrepreneurship. They own a media company that helps authors and publishers to connect with more readers, a tough problem in a challenging industry. Their mission was to offer authors an effective, reliable channel for book marketing at a time when other book promoters often "took advantage of authors' hopes and dreams by promising them the world."Their solution is self-service and done-for-you book promotion, where authors manage their book promotion at a budget they can afford. But, as Vernon explains, to be a successful book publisher, authors must understand the concept of "the lifetime value of a reader" so their art can become a commercially viable product. Listen to find answers to the following: The biggest lesson Vernon learned mowing lawnsWhat did he mean by "I didn't know how good I had it?"What kind of a job do you get with a Classical Civilization degree? The difference between art and designWhat did Vernon say when he chose entrepreneurship, and why is this the last thing any entrepreneur ought to say or think about What is entrepreneurial inertia? What is the #1 reason why business (nonfiction) book authors fail?"The one thing we missed that everyone leaping into entrepreneurship must recognize and prepare for."Connect with Vernon and learn more about his services:https://www.linkedin.com/in/ferol/https://www.freebooksy.com/for-the-authors/

Ferol is the COO of Written Word Media and runs a variety of brands to help readers find the next book to read. He works to sell advertising to authors, largely independent authors. They do email, social media and primarily support the authors by giving them access to advertising for readers. Allobee has helped support Ferol by helping them with their new program, Reader Reach. Allobee helped with the marketing and setting up of the campaign and getting working out the kinks.Ferol got his start at a non-profit research lab that built medical simulators. There he was introduced to technology he didn't know existed. He started doing some of his own freelance work and it drove him to get his MBA and he began working with ReverbNation, building software for musicians. He never connected with music but came from a family of readers and always wanted to work with his wife. She was an online marketing consultant at the time. They eventually started working together and built Written Word Media and hired staff.Ferol's biggest challenge has been balancing family and work, especially when his father was sick. He views challenges as opportunities. The key is self-awareness during trauma and chaos and the daily struggle that comes with that. It's important to ask for help and support when you need it. Ferol also talks about his favorite quote, favorite read, and how he plans on momentum through the remainder of 2021. https://www.writtenwordmedia.comFerol Vernon holds an MBA from Duke University with a focus on technology and entrepreneurship. Ferol's focus is building killer technology for readers, authors, and publishers. Ferol spent over 6 years in the music business at ReverbNation helping grow the company from a pre-revenue startup to a 100 person company.

Original Recording Date: December 2017 Guests: Barbara from Norfolk Manor Retirement Home, Ferol from Onward Willow (rebroadcast) This is part 6 of Barbara from NorfolkManor, telling the tales of her travel from England to India in 1962 with her family and friends in their bus. The second half is a re-broadcast of a holiday story from Ferol last year over at Onward Willow Centre.
Today I’m talking to Ferol Vernon of Written Word Media. And what an interview – there’s so many great nuggets of information in the episode for those who need to get more eyes on their books – i.e. every author!!! Written Word Media work with both major publishers and indie authors, with a simple way […]
Original Recording Date: January 9th, 2017 Guests: Dustin and Ferol It was just after the holiday break, and I had returned to Willow for my first radio drop-in hours of the new year. The folks I crossed paths with that day are such a wonderful reflection of the diversity of characters over at that space. Tune in to this episode to hear Dustin, as he shares an in-depth description of the story of Dragon Ball Z, and Ferol, who shares her stories of families and miracles from a Christmas spent in Hanover. One of my favourites.
Original Recording Date: October 17th 2016 Guests: Bev & Trudy, Gunsum, Moe, and Ferol This a wonderful cross section of the folks who utilize the Onward Willow Centre and dedicate their time to make the space run. Bev and Trudy have been married for 25 years, and have lived in lots of areas of Guelph, including the Willow Neighbourhood where they live now. They are incredible supporters of this neighbourhood, as well as Guelph in general, frequenting downtown often and supporting many downtown merchants. They have interesting and important points about the lack of bus shelters or benches in the Onward Willow area. Gunsum came through the space to check out the items on the give-away shelves, and despite him not speaking a word on English, and me not speaking any Hindi, we still sat down together to spend some time on radio. We did manage to communicate about favourite foods :) Moe has been a volunteer in the clothing room here at Onward Willow for four years. The clothing room is an important asset here at the space - they are always in need of more donations, and more volunteers. The clothing room has free clothing anyone can come and take for free Ferol volunteers here at the front desk at Onward Willow, as well as helping in the clothing room and with the Women's Group. She has been a volunteer for many organizations for decades, and is a huge part of this space. She grew up in this neighbourhood in Guelph, and moved when she got married in 1968, and now in her older age she has moved back to this neighbourhood in 2010. The Onward Willow complex is built on the plot of her original family farm - when she was born, she arrived back to the farm that was here, which was owned by her grandparents. What is now the paved access to the complex, used to be a dirt path up to the original homestead. She tells wonderful stories of horse-drawn sleigh rides and life with her family then and now - she has children and grandchildren who live here in the neighbourhood and also volunteer at the space. She is a true gem.
