Getting restless in the city? Taylor Powers and Ethan Millard have a couple ideas of places that offer great stargazing away from those city lights. First off is Goblin Valley, hiking, biking, camping, disc golfing, stargazing, what more could you ask for? Oh, four wheeling? They have that too. Can't go too far? Stansbury Island, about an hour drive from Salt Lake City, offers a large salt flats area on the dried up coast of Stansbury Bay. Here, you can camp, and feel like you are completely remote. Get out there and explore your Utah.
Recorded a couple of days ago after finishing a couple of slot canyons called Ding and Dang. They're outside Goblin Valley. They're not difficult, I think rated just 2BII, but having a handicapped twenty-something man in our party made it into a much more intense adventure. It was, in fact, one of the greatest things I feel I have ever done outside. What a great day. And so I'm going to read a great poem, too.
Taylor Powers and Ethan Millard reveal some of their favorite places, in part because they are never crowded! Ethan's secret spot is the third valley in Goblin Valley just west of Moab. Apparently serene and much less traveled than the first two. Taylor's is her close-to-home camping spot just 40 minutes west on the shore of Stansbury Bay. Vast and empty miles of dried shoreline becomes a host for campfires, sports, and the occasional donut... Utah has so much to offer for families and individuals alike, but people tend to crown in the same places. Venture out of your norm and visit somewhere you've never been before! Whether hiking, biking, views, swimming or shopping are your motives, there are plenty of places that offer it up!

Brendon and Aaron get in two Astrophotography nights in a row at two completely different locations. Goosenecks State Park and Goblin Valley in Utah back in June. We discuss the challenges we faced capturing the large landscape of the Goosenecks compared to the intimate, in-your-face foreground of Goblin Valley. NOTE: Apologies for this podcast being a week late. There was a funeral in Canada that delayed things. But we are still on track for this week and will be releasing this week's podcast on schedule.
