EP524. In this solo episode, Renee is diving headfirst into something that's been messing with all of us lately—overconsumption. From TikToks to podcasts to endless Instagram scrolling, Renee shares how one eye-opening TikTok slapped her across the face (figuratively, of course) and made her realize just how much content she's consuming—and how it's slowly eroding her focus, attention span, and overall productivity. She breaks down the key points from that viral TikTok, reflects on her own habits, and explores why moms especially are drowning in digital noise while struggling to feel present, creative, or motivated. If you've ever picked up your phone to check one thing and found yourself in a 45-minute scroll hole… this one's for you. Let's talk about it, call ourselves out, and start reclaiming our attention. Welcome back to The Birth Lounge Podcast—where we challenge the status quo, ask the questions the system hopes you won't, and take your family's health seriously (without fear-mongering or fluff). In today's episode, I'm sitting down with Kelly Ryerson, co-executive director of American ReGen and founder of Glyphosate Facts. With degrees from Dartmouth and Stanford, Kelly brings the heat and the receipts on one of the most important (and honestly, infuriating) topics in modern health: glyphosate. Yup, that's the same chemical in Roundup—the most widely used pesticide on Earth. And spoiler alert: it's likely in your pantry right now. We dive deep into: The truth about glyphosate's impact on your gut, your mental health, and your baby's long-term development How companies like Monsanto (now Bayer) are still running the show—and why we can't trust the system to keep us safe What you can do today to reduce your exposure (hello, water filters + better food choices) Why baby food is a big red flag (yes, even organic) What's actually happening on farms, and how regenerative practices can change the game This episode is part science, part scandal, and fully focused on helping you take back control of your health—because no one is coming to do that for you. If you've ever wondered what's actually in your food, how it's affecting your hormones, fertility, or your growing baby, or why the U.S. is behind other countries in banning toxic chemicals… This is your episode. Dr. Cole explains the "shameflammation connection"; how repressed emotions like shame, guilt, and stress can cause chronic inflammation, impacting libido, energy, and connection. He breaks down this mind-body cycle where emotional stress manifests as physical illness and offers somatic tools for healing, emphasizing that nervous system regulation is crucial to breaking this loop through breathwork, stillness, and rituals that bring people back into their bodies. We dive deep into the gut-brain connection and its major role in mood, hormone balance, and sexual health. Dr. Cole reveals how processed foods, sugar, and unresolved trauma can hijack desire and performance, while discussing silent inflammation and hormone imbalances that often show up as low libido, fatigue, or anxiety. He uses advanced lab testing to find hidden causes when patients say "I don't feel like myself." The conversation addresses shame around pleasure and sexual identity, highlighting how culture often teaches us to suppress pleasure or disconnect from desire. Both Emily and Dr. Cole agree that reclaiming sensuality starts with removing shame and practicing compassionate self-awareness. FMEP Fellow Peter Beinart speaks with Yuli Novak, executive director of the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem, about how and why B'Tselem has concluded that Israel is now and has been committing genocide in Gaza for nearly two years. Yuli describes Israeli leaders' statements of intent, Israeli military officers' orders and actions, and the catastrophic results on the Palestinian people in Gaza. Yuli and Peter discuss the urgency for international intervention to stop Israel's brutal actions in Gaza, how Israeli Jewish society justifies the genocide, and the dangers that Palestinians face without protection from the Israeli regime, including the danger that Israel may apply its genocidal policy to other areas under its control, including the West Bank. Read B'Tselem's new report, "Our Genocide," on their website: https://www.btselem.org/publications/202507_our_genocide From the report: “For nearly two years, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza, acting in a systematic, deliberate way to destroy Palestinian society there through mass killing, causing serious bodily and mental harm and creating catastrophic conditions that prevent its continued existence in Gaza. Israel is openly promoting ethnic cleansing and the destruction of life-sustaining infrastructure for individuals and the group, with 2 million people starved, displaced, bombed and left by the world to die. The genocide must be stopped.” Yuli Novak is the Executive Director of B'Tselem. From 2012-2017, she was Executive Director of Breaking the Silence. In 2022, she published (in Hebrew) the memoir Who Do You Think You Are?, which will be published in English in 2025. Peter Beinart is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Foundation for Middle East Peace. He is also a Professor of Journalism and Political Science at the City University of New York, a Contributing opinion writer at the New York Times, an Editor-at-Large at Jewish Currents, and an MSNBC Political Commentator. His newest book (published 2025) is Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning. Original music by Jalal Yaquoub.
A twenty-dollar gadget became a career killer. Wells Fargo fired over a dozen employees for something smaller, sneakier than fraud: faking mouse movement to simulate productivity. Not stealing money—stealing time. The invisible war between surveillance and breathing room just claimed its first casualties. Jim Stroud dissects how a simple USB device exposed the trust bankruptcy poisoning modern workplaces. When keystroke loggers meet mouse jigglers, when screen recorders battle software rebellion, the real question isn't about productivity—it's about survival. … This episode is brought to you by: PromptMonitor - Monitor and improve your visibility in AI/LLMs. This is the future of job search – opportunities come looking for you. https://www.promptmonitor.io?via=jimstroud Read The Recruiting Life newsletter to learn what's happening now and next in the world of work. https://jimstroud.beehiiv.com Job Search Summit – Free virtual event of innovative job-hunting strategies. Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's how Aaron Rodgers has fit into the team's locker room culture so far at training camp. There were some that though the addition of Rodgers, known as much for his takes on The Pat McAfee Show and Joe Rogan Experience as his quarterback play lately, would create a toxic situation for the team's culture. So far, that has been a million miles from the truth. Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Imagine an Octopus with eight sucker-bearing arms, a soft body, and a strong beaklike jaw. Now transfer this image to what happens when a company lies to a customer. Each outright lie (body) ends up requiring many sub-lies (sucker-bearing arms) to support the false story (body). Here is the rub…customers detect lies more often than not. What can we do to stop this? Easy…find the crooked jaws within your company, weed them out, and then start to tell customers the truths they deserve to hear. The health of your business will get better as your company watches the Octopus swim off into the deep waters.Support the show

It's a handy and very descriptive way to talk about someone – but there are potential problems with doing it. Those words are often used by psychologists to describe serious conditions that most of us are not equipped to diagnose. And there are other bigger concerns which you will hear about from my guest, Isabelle Morley. She is a clinical psychologist, couples therapist and a contributing author to Psychology Today. Destroying Your Ex Does Not Win Your Case - Episode 341 of the Divorce University Online Podcast. Family Court hearings are typically full of all kinds of mudslinging in both directions. Since we are in an adversary system and most people experience the law as “guilty vs innocent”, this may seem like a logical approach. But a Family Law Judge doesn't think in terms of “guilty vs innocent” so trying to destroy your ex in court doesn't necessarily solve your problems. Story at-a-glance Linoleic acid (LA), a fat found in vegetable oils, accumulates in your tissues and disrupts mitochondrial function, which drains your energy and slows your metabolism This fat becomes toxic when oxidized, producing harmful byproducts that damage DNA, enzymes, and the machinery your cells need to generate energy Excess LA damages your gut by interfering with colon cell metabolism, harming beneficial microbes, and promoting inflammation linked to insulin resistance and obesity LA's half-life in body fat is about two years, meaning the damage builds up slowly and requires long-term dietary changes to reverse Cutting out vegetable oils, eating gut-repairing whole foods, and switching to stable fats like grass fed butter and tallow are key steps to restoring your metabolic health
Let's not mince words: CBS didn't cancel The Late Show because of "financial challenges." They canceled it because Stephen Colbert took a sledgehammer to the franchise's legacy and turned it into a nightly MSNBC focus group. The network's press release is a masterclass in corporate cowardice:"This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night... It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount."Translation: "The Titanic's sinking had nothing to do with the iceberg—it was a purely nautical decision."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Dr. Kirk Moore, a physician who offered fake COVID-19 vaccine cards and saline shots for kids with parental consent, faced a 4-year legal battle against charges of vaccine fraud that carried a possible 35 years in prison. After a campaign by influencers and politicians, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the Trump DOJ was ordering that the case be dismissed, stating “Dr. Moore gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so. He did not deserve the years in prison he was facing.” The dismissal ends the trial with prejudice, but the battle continues for Dr. Moore who is not permitted to pursue reimbursement of legal fees that reportedly exceed $750,000. What if the very thing you think is preserving your legacy is actually destroying it?Drawing from his experience as a fourth-generation leader of a 100-year-old company, Adam Hill reveals why the traditional focus on preservation is creating a "legacy trap" that's dooming families to the three-generation curse. This isn't just theory. Congressman Ro Khanna joins us live after introducing a bill to force the release of the Epstein files, and every single Republican voted against it. Yes, the same Republicans who claim to fight for “truth” and “transparency.” The same MAGA movement that once demanded these files be made public. So what happened? What are they hiding? What are they so afraid of? And how does a promise to "release the files" turn into "there are no files"...and then "there are files, but they were written by the democrats"?!? We'll dig into it all with Rep. Khanna, the politics, the hypocrisy, and why accountability seems to vanish when it gets too close to home. This episode is brought to you by BetterHelp. Together, they talk about the quiet entitlement that sneaks into our faith, why peace feels so elusive, and how the Gospel offers something far deeper than comfort or success.Jerrad and Gary explore how social media fuels discontent, how unspoken expectations erode intimacy with God, and why healing begins when we face our sin instead of hiding it. He's already given you more than you deserve. What You'll Learn:Why entitlement might be the root of your spiritual frustrationHow believing a lie can sabotage your faithThe difference between comfort and peaceWhat Gary learned through suffering, silence, and surrenderWhy social media subtly kills gratitudeHow to be a man of peace in a world full of chaosWhy facing your sin leads to deeper joyHow the Gospel frees you—from your past, for your futureMentioned in This Episode:Gary Thomas' new book: The Life You Were Reborn to LiveGary's website: https://www.garythomas.comBook Jerrad to speak: https://www.jerradlopes.comGrab Dad Tired and Loving It: https://amzn.to/3YTz4GBWatch and subscribe on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7_ZcEkDxWBM
1. Loneliness Loneliness related to social isolation causes a chronic elevation in cortisol, which leads to inflammation and an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. Focus on nurturing at least 3 quality relationships. Prioritize regular social engagement and volunteering your time to help others. 2. Lack of sleepGetting less than 5 hours of sleep can increase your risk of early death by 30%! It also increases your risk of weight gain, cravings, and diabetes by 2 to 3 times. Always aim for at least 7 hours of sleep.3. Refined sugarProcessed sugar and starch contribute to liver fat, obesity, Alzheimer's, and inflammation. Cut sugar from your diet and follow a low-carb ketogenic diet. The Dr. Berg Junk Food Meter app allows you to quickly scan foods to identify the 3 key ingredients in most junk foods: sugars, starches, and seed oils. 4. Industrial seed oilsSeed oils create significant inflammation in the body. Avoid processed seed oils and choose healthy oils such as extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed butter, tallow, and lard. 5. Reduce visceral fat naturally Visceral fat surrounds the organs and directly correlates with your longevity. Reduce visceral fat naturally by doing intermittent fasting and keto. 6. Stop snackingConstant snacking makes it impossible for your body to repair damaged cells. Stop snacking and only eat when you're hungry.7. Nutrient deficiencies A magnesium deficiency can lead to high blood pressure, arrhythmias, and muscle cramps. Magnesium is found in leafy greens and pumpkin seeds, or you can take a magnesium glycinate supplement. It's said that 40% of people are deficient in vitamin D, but that figure could be closer to 90%! Vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of early death and leads to inflammation and depression. You need at least 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily. Low choline intake can cause a fatty liver and problems with memory and cognitive function. You need 550 mg per day, and the best sources are egg yolks and liver.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. He is the author of the best-selling book The Healthy Keto Plan, and is the Director of Dr. Berg Nutritionals. He no longer practices, but focuses on health education through social media.
Segment 1: • The Methodist church (and now PCUSA) shows what happens when you abandon Sola Scriptura. • Liberation Theology and LGBT compromise start with bad hermeneutics. • “Herman Who?” (soon free) will help you see why hermeneutics matters for staying faithful. Segment 2: • Not all modern worship is shallow—some songs (like Matt Papa/Boswell) get it right. • Most contemporary worship, though, remains me-centered and theologically thin. • Discernment in music shapes your view of God and worship. Segment 3: • Young people are leaving church for reasons deeper than they realize: they think faith is shallow, anti-science, and overprotective. • PLAY THE MAN cards equip young men for real spiritual battle. • Culture says “follow your desires,” but God's design offers something far better. Segment 4: • God's laws aren't restrictive; they're good for you and guard your joy. • Many reject Jesus without knowing the real Jesus they're rejecting. • Joe Rogan's conversations hint at the hunger for truth that only Christ satisfies. ___ Thanks for listening! Story at-a-glance PPI heartburn drugs have been linked to a 16% higher risk of heart attacks and double the risk of dying from cardiovascular events, even in people with no history of heart disease Contrary to common belief, most reflux is caused by too little stomach acid, not too much, and PPIs worsen this problem by further suppressing acid production Long-term PPI use damages kidneys, weakens bones, impairs nutrient absorption and increases infection risk, as stomach acid is essential for pathogen defense If you're using PPIs, taper off slowly and switch to famotidine (Pepcid), a safer option that not only avoids heart risks but also helps block excess serotonin that disrupts energy and drives inflammation Full recovery of stomach acid production and digestive function after long-term PPI use takes several months up to two years, requiring targeted nutritional support
