Steiny & Guru begin to examine the first-round series between Houston & Golden State and what will decide the series along with the matchups to bring it home.
The NBA world has been enraptured all week by the idea of Miami Heat SF/SG Jimmy Butler being available in trade rumors. Kevin O'Connor is joined as always on Fridays by Yahoo Sports NBA contributor Tom Haberstroh to discuss a handful of landing spots, which ones seem likely, which don't and which teams have surprisingly not been mentioned at all.As Tom highlighted in this week's episode of The Big Number, cities like Houston & Golden State make a lot of sense for the six-time All-Star, but Kevn has other ideas for the eccentric Butler. Making matters more complicated, Butler's agent Bernie Lee got into a public spat with ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania over the reporting of the news. Kevin & Tom explain the complicated player-team-agent-reporter dynamic.Later in the show, the guys discuss Wednesday night's one-point Houston Rockets win over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Cup quarterfinals, and how a single end-of-game penalty call nearly ruined the whole thing.Wrapping up the episode, the guys look forward to the NBA Cup semifinal matches between the aforementioned Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference and the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks facing off in the East.(0:35) - Jimmy Butler possible trade destinations(19:10) - Butler's agent Bernie Lee vs. Shams Charania(26:35) - Rockets advance to NBA Cup Semifinals thanks to strange officiating(37:05) - OKC's defense might be best ever(44:25) - Hawks defeat Knicks to advance to NBA Cup Eastern semis against Bucks
We hit on Denver/Portland and Philly/Toronto, both solid victories for the home team to give us at least 2 Game 7s. Did the underdogs find something in Game 6 that could give them a chance on the road in Game 7? Then former Rockets point guard Aaron Jackson returns to the show to discuss Houston/Golden State and his time with the Rockets last year, signing on the last day of the regular season. With host Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) and Danny Leroux (@DannyLeroux). And if you like this show, please support Nate and Danny at Patreon.com/DuncanLeroux. We're on the verge of saying goodbye to an action packed sports month, but there's still plenty to get into on this weeks edition of The JAYREELZ Podcast. Both the NBA & NHL have moved on to the Conference Semi-finals. We'll start off with the NBA as the juicy second round match-ups (in particular, Houston-Golden State) is off to a wild start. I'll get into the officiating in Game 1, what this could mean for the rest of series and who'll come out on top and advance to the Conference Finals. I'll get into the Celtics dominating GM 1 in Milwaukee, the Raptors win over the 76ers and the Nuggets prevailing over the Spurs as they prepare to face the Trail Blazers in Round 2. On the ice, the Islanders have dug themselves an 0-2 hole and now have to go on the road to play the Hurricanes and get back in this series. I'll explain why this series is far from over, despite having the odds against them, as well as, surveying the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoff landscape with the other three series taking place.. The 2019 NFL Draft is officially in the books. I'll discuss the Giants surprise first of three first round picks, all of the comings and goings of another wild weekend in Nashville and the latest surrounding Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill. The Yankees continue their hot streak out West as they've won six of seven in Anaheim and San Francisco. Should the Yankee fan expect this team to play stellar ball without their key guys in the lineup? I'll have the answer to that, plus, what's going on with Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard as the Mets pitching staff has underperformed here in the first month of the season. Lastly, I'm experimenting with a new close out segment at the very end of the pod called ‘The Hero and Zero of the Week'. It's a jam packed sports podcast that you won't want to miss as I'll satiate your sports appetite and then some on the latest episode of The JAYREELZ Podcast. (Episode 67) Music by Bensound.

The "and stuff" is important. Because while we talk about all things trade related, we also talk about Kristaps Porzingis' ACL tear, the Team LeBron Curse, the Cavs struggles, should Silver step in and make Houston-Golden State the Finals, "Peaky Blinders," and why we're more likely to listen to a new musician before a new stand up comedian. It's a big week. If any trades do happen at the deadline, we'll release another show tonight. Because you deserve it and we love you.
On this week's NBA A to Z podcast, USA TODAY's Sam Amick and Jeff Zillgitt talk season-openers between Boston-Cleveland, Houston-Golden State and Gordon Hayward's horrific injury to his left ankle and leg. Plus, Sam and Jeff share details of life on the road.
