Corporate venture capital isn't just having “a bit of VC on the side.” Done well, it's a strategic lens on the future. Done badly, it's a short-lived pet project with a half-life of 3.7 years and a trail of confused founders and annoyed co-investors.In this episode, we sit down with Martin Scherrer, Partner & Head of Managed Funds at Redstone, alongside our own CVC lead Jeppe Høier, to unpack what really happens when corporates leave venture — and how to do it without destroying value or reputation.Redstone runs a dual model: classic VC funds + “VC-as-a-Service” for corporates and family offices.

With music festival season in full swing, we chat to Last Train frontman Jean-Noël Scherrer. His band have just had a sold-out tour here in France and played extensively in Germany, the UK and other European countries. We also speak to Tallulah Sim-Savage of up-and-coming English trio HotWax, whose debut album is a punchy blend of grunge and rock 'n' roll.

This week we find ourselves in two locations in Indiana. First up is the old Whitley County Jail. Home to escapes, and a botched execution that would change Indiana executions forever..The botched execution of Charles Butler. Next up is the Indiana Central State Hospital in Indianapolis, home to mistreatment, allegations of abuse, and tons of haunts and encounters. Die gespielten Titel: - Leningrad Cowboys go America [Soundtrack] - Mambo from Säkkijärvi von Mauri Sumén - Librairie Musicale - Valse du mythomane - Los Zafiros - He venido - Compay Segundo - Amor de loca juventud - Prince – Purple Rain

When a Florida family went missing in 1985, local authorities were at a complete loss with absolutely no leads. Nearly 6 weeks after James and Carolyn Brown and their three children were last heard from, the family was reported missing. Strange phone calls, a dead hamster and a wall that was freshly painted in an effort to cover blood stains, left more questions than answers. After being recognized in Georgia several weeks later, James Brown confessed to killing his wife and children and disposing of their bodies in locations in both Florida and Georgia, however despite several searches, they were never found. It quickly became clear that James was suffering from mental health issues and was ruled insane by three psychologists. Given the fact that no bodies were ever found, and James Brown has since recanted his confession, is it possible that he never murdered his family after all? The Branch of Hope: SafeSpace safespacefl.org When SafeSpace was founded in Indian River County in October 1979, it was the beginning of an incredible journey to provide safety and support to thousands of domestic violence victims and their children. By 1988, SafeSpace had expanded to St. Lucie and Martin counties and secured its reputation as the local area experts in providing domestic violence services. For more than four decades, SafeSpace has provided nearly half a million safe nights of shelter to more than 40,000 victims and children throughout the Treasure Coast area. In the past year, SafeSpace served 776 victims of domestic violence consisting of 623 adults and 153 children; and provided a total of 9,689 services. To vote, head to our Twitter or Facebook page! It was absolutely awesome to have this guy as a guest for this week's Strength Chat. In this episode I was joined by a former Royal Marine Commando, The Muscle Mechanic, Jerome Scherrer. We've spoken a lot in the past and always seem to share the same thoughts and philosophies when it comes to training and coaching, so it was great to take this conversation further. In this episode we chatted about exercise execution and why it's so important, mindset around certain exercises, as well as what a successful client coach relationship looks like. Karen Scherrer has been a registered veterinary technician for 25 years this month. Ironically, she is officially retiring after spending the past 10+ years of focused effort for supposed major animal welfare organizations, as she has been consistently disappointed in the real-life scenarios that have played out behind the scenes. The most recent scenario was her experience helping to rescue a historic retrieval of 4000 beagles from a research breeding compound. She has worked in every aspect of veterinary medicine imaginable, from the now-closed Wildlife Way Station, feeding donuts to bears, tube feeding newborn squirrels, restraining caymans while doctors searched for a vein to high-kill shelters, zoos, small animal hospitals, equine rescue, mobile medicine and traveling to multiple separate catastrophic events. Within one year, Karen practiced along a spectrum from living in a tent following Hurricane Katrina, opening makeshift shelters at abandoned senior centers in Louisiana, and perishes she can not even pronounce. She also scrubbed in on neurosurgery cases and traveled to perform anesthesia in general practices as a mobile surgery technician with a board-certified surgeon. Hands down, her favorite area of practice has been the LA zoo. Karen is married to a board-certified small animal surgeon who she met while working as a mobile technician, and even behind the mask and cap, he still called her. They have a 15-year-old daughter, two angelic Golden Retrievers, and live in Carlsbad, CA.
