Today's guest, Dr. Marcelo Hochman, Physician and Owner of Facial Surgery Center in Charleston, SC and President of the Independent Doctors of South Carolina, joins us for a riveting discussion on how the current corporatization of medicine isn't what's best for doctors, patients, and their families. Dr. Hochman and his colleagues have been working with state legislators to repeal the state's Certificate of Need statute and for the elimination of hospitals' Non-Compete Clauses, so that patients can have greater access to privatized healthcare, fair and competitive pricing, and high-quality care. Dr. Marcelo Hochman is the premier facial plastic/reconstructive surgeon in South Carolina, whose practice features a unique blend of adult and pediatric, elective/reconstructive, pro-bono, insured, and self-pay services. He's engaged in medical publication, legislative activities, and educational opportunities for students and residents, all of which are unusual in private practice. He sees his platform as helpful in promoting the independence of physicians in SC and he wants to lead the comeback of the doctor/patient relationship. We now know that government works with pharma to make people sick and die – not just from COVID shots, but many other bad interventions. Independent doctors are the threat to government dominion. We're joined by one of them today, Dr. Pierre Kory, who warns that doctors who speak the truth are being silenced. The American Board of Internal Medicine, with ties to the government, is threatening Kory's board certification. Kory also wrote a bombshell piece on “died suddenly” in USA Today that presents a blueprint for getting through the censorship. In other news, I explain the history of the GOP as a controlled opposition and my “bait-and-switch theory” as to how the conservative movement resets every 10 years to pretend it learned its lesson – all the while continuing to rejuvenate the controlled opposition. The Association of Independent Doctors gives physicians in private medical practices a voice in the face of encroaching government regulation and medical consolidation. As hospitals become increasingly monopolistic and enticing to new doctors entering the field, studies show without fail that such consolidation reduces transparency, quality of care and the direct time a patient spends with a doctor, while increasing costs and inefficiencies.
Marni Jameson is the Executive Director of the Association of Independent Doctors. It's a national organization with over 1000 physicians members, dedicated to defending and supporting independent practitioners. e talked with Marni about health care consolidation and the impact it has, not only on you and your practice but also your patients. We're going to learn more about what Marni and her team are doing for you, even if you are currently employed with a hospital. We're also going to learn more about Marni's background and experience. It's pretty impressive. She was only 22 when she founded her own health care public relations firm. After ten successful years, she sold the firm to pursue her passion for journalism, becoming a health reporter for the Los Angeles Times, and later, the Orlando Sentinel. She also has a passion for design. Even with all the demands of running the AID, she manages to find time to write a nationally syndicated column on home design. "At Home With Marni Jameson," appears in more than 30 newspapers across North America, reaching 7 million readers. She's also the author of two best-selling books.
