FAITH THAT WORKS Gordon Dabbs, PhD James 2.14-26 James 2.14 (ESV) What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? James is confronting the difference between a PROFESSED faith and a PRACTICED faith. James 2.15-16 (ESV) If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? Having the right theology—the right beliefs—without a life that follows is like having a perfect set of blueprints for a house you never build. What does real faith actually look like? James 2 gives us a challenging answer: living faith doesn't just believe—it moves. It serves. It obeys. It gets its hands dirty. After experiencing Tesla's Cybercab in Austin, I think the biggest thing people are missing is the zero-sum game built into Uber. Two people share one environment with different preferences. The driver wants the temperature at 66. I want 72. We have different preferences for music, volume, and whether the windows should be open. My comfort can come at the expense of his—and I don't blame the driver. It's his working environment. Cybercab removes that tug of war. I choose the temperature, play my Spotify, and settle in with my coffee. The car has no competing preferences. I can get comfortable without asking another person to sacrifice their comfort. In this video, I share my firsthand impressions from riding Cybercab in Austin and explain why removing that social tension changes the whole experience. I think people are underestimating how much this matters—and how hard it could make going back to Uber. I took two rides in Tesla's Cybercab in Austin, and I'm telling you — this thing exceeded my expectations. The legroom, quiet cabin, huge screen, and freedom to just sit back and enjoy the ride are incredible. But the biggest surprise was how natural it feels with no steering wheel or pedals. There's no empty driver's seat reminding you that someone is missing. It just feels like this is how getting from point A to point B is supposed to work. On my second ride, I reclined my seat and watched my own Cybercab video inside a Cybercab. Half an hour flew by, and I felt refreshed. In this video, I share my first impressions, how the experience compares with a Model Y Robotaxi, and what I'd still improve—including a plusher ride and shorter wait times. Tesla's growth has slowed, and the affordable new model many people expected hasn't arrived. Did Tesla abandon its high-volume ambitions—or choose a different path to get there? In this video, I share my theory about why Elon Musk went all in on Cybercab and FSD, what that decision may have cost Tesla in the short term, and how it could lay the foundation for an entirely new lineup of affordable, autonomous vehicles. I explore the tradeoff between building a cheaper conventional Tesla and designing a vehicle around the rider from the ground up. I also outline a six-step path from Cybercab to broader consumer sales and high-volume production. Why do you still want your partner after they cheated on you? You might feel disgusted by what they did while simultaneously wanting to be close to them, sleep with them, save the relationship, or desperately feel chosen by them again. That contradiction can make you question your self-respect, but attachment doesn't automatically disappear just because you learned something painful. In this episode, I break down why betrayal can sometimes make your desire for your partner feel even stronger, why the person who hurt you may still feel like the person you want comfort from, and how to separate genuine love from familiarity, fear, rejection, and the life you've built together. We'll also explore an important question: If you met the version of your partner that exists today, knowing everything you now know, would you still choose them? You don't need to stop loving someone before you're allowed to leave them. And you don't need to eliminate every conflicted feeling before you're allowed to explore reconciliation. The goal is to understand what you're actually feeling so you can make a decision from clarity rather than emotional chaos. If you've been trying to logically think your way through infidelity but your emotions, triggers, attachment, or uncertainty still won't let go, I work with people individually to get underneath those reactions and address what's actually keeping them stuck.

THE TEMPTATION TRAP Gordon Dabbs, PhD James 1.12-18 Trials are the hard things that happen to us. Temptations are the bad things that look good to us. James 1.12 (NLT) God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. There is no testimony without the test. We cannot avoid temptation. But we can learn to recognize the trap before we crawl inside. James 1.13-15 (ESV) Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. Pre-sin is fought with pre-decisions. Temptation gets stronger in the dark and weaker when we drag it into the light. A pre-decision is a gift your strong self presents your weak self. Hebrews 4:15 (ESV) [Jesus] in every respect has been tempted as we are. Lust of the flesh. Lust of the eyes The pride of life James 1.16-18 (NLT) So don't be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. God can use the pressure you didn't choose to grow a maturity you couldn't get any other way. Ask God for wisdom, not just relief. James 1.5 (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God . . . James 1.6 (ESV) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting . . . Keep your perspective on what really lasts. James 1.9-10 (ESV) Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation. . . Hang in there. Your reward is coming.
