Why do cheaters sometimes accuse you of cheating before you ever find out what they were doing? In this episode, I'm talking about the confusing and painful dynamic where the person who betrayed you puts you on trial first. Sometimes it's projection. Sometimes it's justification. Sometimes it's manipulation. But either way, their accusation does not mean you caused the betrayal or that you deserved to be treated that way. If you're struggling with intrusive thoughts, confusion, self-doubt, or trying to make sense of what happened after betrayal, you can book a free call with me and we'll look at what's really going on underneath the symptoms.
Sometimes the pain after infidelity is something that needs to be healed. But sometimes, that pain is trying to warn you that something still isn't safe. After infidelity, it can be hard to tell whether your pain is an old wound being triggered or your intuition warning you that something still isn't safe. In this episode, I talk about how to tell the difference between betrayal trauma, present-day red flags, and the kind of pain that may need boundaries instead of more self-soothing. https://www.jordanapodaca.com/ What do you do when your partner cheated, but now they are the one drowning in shame? In this episode, I talk about the complicated dynamic that happens when the unfaithful partner feels ashamed of what they did, but that shame starts taking over every conversation. Shame may be real, and it may even be part of what needs to be healed. But it cannot become a way to avoid accountability, collapse emotionally, or make the betrayed partner responsible for comforting the person who hurt them. I'll break down the difference between genuine shame that can lead to growth and shame that becomes another form of avoidance. I'll also explain why the betrayed partner's pain and the betrayer's shame need separate spaces if repair is going to happen. If you're trying to recover from infidelity and you feel stuck in the same painful emotional loops, you can book a free call with me. We'll look at what's actually keeping you stuck and whether working together would be the right fit.
BEING MY OWN GPS Gordon Dabbs, PhD Proverbs 3.5-8 Proverbs 3.5-8 (NLT) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. WE OFTEN WANT GOD'S WILL ON OUR TERMS. We want God to show us the map while leaving us in control of the steering wheel. The goal is not merely knowing God's will. The goal is knowing God. The Christian life is not primarily about getting information from God. It is about becoming the kind of person who walks with God. TRUST IS MORE THAN BELIEF. John 4.24 (ESV) God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. Proverbs 14.12 (ESV) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. GOD DIRECTS THOSE WILLING TO BE DIRECTED. Proverbs 3.6 (ESV) In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 16.1-3 (NLT) We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. James 4.13-15 (ESV) Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” HOW DO WISE PEOPLE MAKE DECISIONS? 1. Have I prayed about it? 2. What does Scripture say? 3. Have I sought wise counsel? 4. What are my motives? 5. Am I willing to obey whatever God reveals?Subscribe to PRESTONCREST - with Gordon Dabbs on Soundwise

You can't erase the betrayal. You can't undo what happened. And you can't force yourself to forget the fact that someone you loved broke your trust. But that doesn't mean the betrayal has to define the rest of your life. In this episode, I talk about the idea of “include and transcend” and how it applies to infidelity recovery. Healing after being cheated on is not about pretending it never happened, suppressing the pain, or trying to go back to who you were before. It's about reaching a point where the betrayal is included as part of your story, but it no longer becomes the lens through which you see yourself, your relationship, your past, or your future. We'll also talk about one of the hardest parts of betrayal trauma: holding conflicting truths at the same time. Maybe there was love and betrayal. Maybe parts of the relationship were real, and parts were deeply distorted. Maybe this chapter changed you, but it doesn't have to become your whole identity. If you're struggling to move forward after infidelity, and you feel like the betrayal has taken over your mind, your emotions, or your sense of self, you can book a free strategy call with me to talk about what it would look like to finally move past this at the deeper level.
How do you move past trickle truth after infidelity? In this episode, I talk about why new affair details can feel like a whole new betrayal, why the trust-building clock often resets, and how to separate forgiveness from evidence-based trust. If you're trying to reconcile after betrayal but keep finding out more information, this will help you understand why your nervous system is reacting so strongly and what actually needs to happen for safety to be rebuilt. And if you want help working through the deeper emotional impact of betrayal, you can book a free call with me to see if working together makes sense.

Eyes Up: Keeping Christ at the Center | 1 Corinthians 2:2 In a world driven by headlines, outrage, elections, algorithms, and endless notifications, how can Christians stay focused on what matters most? In this message from 1 Corinthians 2:2, Preaching Minister Gordon Dabbs, Ph.D., challenges us to lift our eyes above the noise and fix our gaze on Jesus Christ and Him crucified. The issues of our day matter—but they are not ultimate. When the church lets the news cycle set the agenda, we become reactive. When Jesus sets the agenda, we become rooted. Discover why: ✅ The church is called to be an embassy of Heaven ✅ Our primary allegiance belongs to Christ alone ✅ Prayer is more powerful than outrage ✅ Lament is a faithful response to a broken world ✅ The cross reminds us who our true enemy is—and who it isn't Whether you're weary from politics, discouraged by current events, or simply longing for a deeper focus on Jesus, this message offers a timely reminder: Eyes up. Christ is still on the throne. #JesusChrist #ChristianSermon #Prestoncrest #ChurchOfChrist #FaithOverFear #EyesUp #GospelCentered #ChristianLiving #1Corinthians2 #KingdomOfGod #BiblicalTeaching #DallasChurch #HopeInChrist #FollowingJesus #ChristianEncouragementSubscribe to PRESTONCREST - with Gordon Dabbs on Soundwise

LIFE TOGETHER Acts 2.42-47 Gordon Dabbs, PhD At Pentecost, front and center, there was; • A community • A shared life MOVEMENT 1 - Devotion Over Casual Acts 2.42 (ESV) They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. We want spiritual depth… but we structure our lives for spiritual convenience. We want community… but we keep God's people at arm's length. A Spirit-filled church is not built on hype. It's built on habits. MOVEMENT 2 - Awe That Changes Everything Acts 2.43 (ESV) Awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. When the Father's grip on us is tight. . . our grip on the other stuff loosens. A Spirit-filled church is a generous church. MOVEMENT 3 - A Life That Speaks Acts 2.46 (ESV) Day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes. . . They didn't just attend together. They did life together. THE EARLY CHURCH: Their shared life made the gospel visible. Not just something you hear. Something you see. We love the idea of Acts 2… until it asks something of us. Consumers attend. Committed people devote themselves. We think church is about what we get. God says it's about who you become—together. Let's lean in. Let's devote ourselves. Let's live this life together.Subscribe to PRESTONCREST - with Gordon Dabbs on Soundwise
