In this talk Stuarts explores Isaiah chapters 54 and 55. In these chapters we see an amazing transformation of the people of God, from a ruined, destitute people to a restored, joyful and loved people. This compassion God offers to all and gives an answer to the question, Do our past mistakes define our future? The book of Isaiah repeats the question – whom shall you trust? We want our church to be rooted, established, and built on Jesus, maturing in him and so as we explore this brilliant old testament book, our prayer is that we, more and more, place our trust in him above anything else this life has to offer. “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:17 NLT) In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus makes a fascinating statement that some have misunderstood. Speaking of believers, He says, “They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed” (Mark 16:18 NLT). Some Christians have taken the Lord’s words literally and incorporated snake-handling into their services. But that’s not trusting the Lord; that’s testing the Lord, something believers aren’t supposed to do (see Deuteronomy 6:16; Matthew 4:7). Here’s what Jesus’ words in Mark 16 do mean: If you’re a Christian, then you’re indestructible until God is done with you. There is a day appointed for your death. And you have no say in when that day will come. Until that day, however, you can approach life with boldness and confidence. (That’s not to say that you should be reckless, however—see Jesus’ words in Matthew 4:7 again.) That’s certainly what God’s Word encourages you to do. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you” (NLT). The psalmist wrote, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble” (Psalm 46:1 NLT). And the apostle Paul wrote, “But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one” (2 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT). He wrote from experience. Paul survived a shipwreck and found himself on an island. While warming himself by a fire in this environment, he was bitten by a venomous snake. Paul calmly shook off the snake into the fire. The people who witnessed the incident expected Paul to die from the bite. But he didn’t because his time wasn’t up. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment” (NLT). Paul had not yet reached his destination. He wasn’t about to let a snakebite keep him from the Lord’s work. Likewise, there’s no need for you to worry on your Christian journey. That gives you the freedom to travel light, emotionally speaking. As Isaiah 54:17 says, “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken” (NLT). God will keep you and protect you in this world until He welcomes you into the next. So, be bold. Be courageous. As long as God has use for you, you’re indestructible. Those who haven't encountered Jesus often go about their days as if the future doesn't exist. They would let their lives slip away through drugs and a life of crime. Satan plays his role by clouding their vision of the impending judgment and fury of God. Yet, there are moments when we, as believers, find ourselves living quietly, holding back from sharing the gospel with those around us or letting them know about the impact of their choices. In today's message, Pastor Mark is here to inspire you to find your voice as a believer and share God's Word! You can spread the joy and hope that Jesus brings to everyone you meet!

Have you ever thought about why folks often suggest that starting to learn an instrument is best when you're young? As we grow older, it seems like our knack for understanding and making sense of things starts to fade a bit more each year.  In today's message, Pastor Mark shares his thoughts on why it seems like young people often embrace faith more readily than their older counterparts. As you age, your heart tends to harden up, shaped by all the wisdom you've gathered throughout your life's adventure. But you know, God has this amazing way of showing Himself to everyone, regardless of how old they are!

Picture this: you find yourself in a situation where you've been wrongly accused, and now you're on a quest to seek justice from a flawed judicial system. That's pretty much what David was experiencing. Saul found himself consumed by the urge to hunt David down, driven by a relentless desire to end his life. What really stood out about David was his knack for keeping his complaints to himself, unlike the rest of us, who often voice our grievances to God. Today, Pastor Mark shares a heartfelt reminder to embrace patience and have faith in the wonderful plans God has in store for you. Hang tight, my friend. God's in control!

We're picking up where we left off in the collection of visions that Zechariah saw, today looking at visions six, seven and eight. The vision of the flying scroll is an indication that God's just law is about to be executed in the land. Wickedness is personified as a woman who is taken captive and sent away to Babylon to be worshiped. The eighth vision, like the first, includes four horses who patrol the earth, signifying God's sovereignty over all creation. After this Zechariah addresses questions of fasting and declares that a day of fruitfulness and feasting is coming for those who seek the Lord.Zechariah 5 - 1:11 . Zechariah 6 - 3:20 . Zechariah 7 - 6:55 . Zechariah 8 - 9:40 . Isaiah 56 – 14:38 . :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by Bobby Brown, Katelyn Pridgen, Eric Williamson & the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

The prophet Zechariah was a contemporary of the prophet Haggai; both prophesy to those exiles returning to Jerusalem, but while Haggai focuses mainly on rebuilding the temple, Zechariah sees visions of a future king. As such is the case, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John incorporate more passages from Zechariah than from any other prophet. In today's reading, Zechariah prophesies through night visions; we'll cover 5 out of 8 of them in this episode. One is of horsemen who patrol the world, another of horns and craftsmen, another of a man who surveys and measures Jerusalem, a fourth of the high priest Joshua and a servant called the Branch, and a fifth of a gold lampstand.Zechariah 1 - 1:13 . Zechariah 2 - 5:39 . Zechariah 3 - 8:53 . Zechariah 4 - 11:12 . Isaiah 54 - 13:58 . Isaiah 55 - 18:04 .  :::Christian Standard Bible translation. All music written and produced by John Burgess Ross.Co-produced by Bobby Brown, Katelyn Pridgen, Eric Williamson & the Christian Standard Biblefacebook.com/commuterbibleinstagram.com/commuter_bibletwitter.com/CommuterPodpatreon.com/commuterbibleadmin@commuterbible.org

It is perfectly acceptable and Biblical for women to lead Bibles studies outside the church as an ancillary addition to the church, and especially if it is a viable avenue for study of the Word on a daily basis, like I'm doing on this show, and paving the way for all of us to be closer to the Lord and become more knowledgeable of the Bible.  If you care to contribute to my work with the Daily Bible study and sharing the Gospel, as part of your tithes and offerings, you can do so through PayPal by sending it to my PayPal address of: ReneHoladay@gmail.com  Thank you for watching and God Bless you all! ;() --------------------- The primary study bible that Rene' uses is the 'Spirit-filled Life Bible, by Jack Hayford, and is available in hard cover or faux leather on Amazon at:  https://amzn.to/434fBnQ You can watch this episode on Youtube at:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9ekffu7ds Please be sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, COMMENT, and SHARE!
