Entre sábanas blancas varios hombres cargaban la mañana del lunes, los cuerpos sin vida de los cinco reporteros de la cadena Al Jazzeera, fallecidos en un ataque dirigido de las fuerzas israelíes en Gaza. Sobre el ataque, el mismo ejército del Estado Hebreo confirmó que su objetivo era Anas al Sharif, un conocido corresponsal de Al Jazeera de 28 años, a quien calificó de "terrorista" que "se hacía pasar por periodista". Por su parte la organización Reporteros Sin Fronteras (RSF) asegura que su asesinato hace parte de una estrategia “del gobierno israelí para controlar cómo se cubre este conflicto”. Reporteros Sin Fronteras pidió una reunión de urgencia del Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas ante este caso del que se declaran horrorizados. Condena también de la Unión Europea y la ONU, que dice rechazar el asesinato de este grupo de periodistas y llama a Israel a "respetar y proteger a todos los civiles, incluidos los periodistas". En la mañana del lunes, decenas de personas asistieron a los funerales celebrados en la ciudad de Gaza de los cinco periodistas del medio de comunicación Al Jazeera muertos en la Franja durante un bombardeo israelí. RFI entrevistó a Elena García, portavoz internacional de Reporteros Sin Fronteras (RSF), quien anunció que ya habían alertado el peligro que corría el periodista Anas al Sharif. Desde octubre de 2023, cerca de 200 periodistas han sido asesinados en Gaza. “Ya no sabemos cuántas personas quedan allí para poder informarnos. Además, desde el inicio de la guerra hemos visto que los periodistas se enfrentan a diferentes amenazas”, aseveró la portavoz. “Sus redacciones, sus lugares de trabajo han sido totalmente destruidos. También sus casas. No tienen electricidad, no tienen acceso a Internet, ya no tienen material de trabajo, pero tampoco material de protección; por lo que son totalmente vulnerables”. Elena García añadió que “los periodistas que están allí encerrados ya no tienen fuerzas vitales para poder seguir cubriendo este conflicto”, en alusión a la falta de comida. Las acusaciones del ejército israelí contra Anas al-Sharif “No son creíbles”, denunció hace unas semanas el Comité para la Protección de los Periodistas. Estas acusaciones también han sido desmentidas por el canal catarí Al Jazeera y por el relator especial de la ONU para la libertad de expresión.

En Guinée, l'opposition se cherche une stratégie en vue du référendum constitutionnel du 21 septembre. Si le oui passe à cette consultation, le général Doumbouya, qui a pris le pouvoir par la force il y a quatre ans, pourra être candidat à la présidentielle qui suivra. Quel va être le mot d'ordre de l'opposition ? Cellou Dalein Diallo préside l'UFDG, l'Union des forces démocratiques de Guinée, le principal parti d'opposition. En ligne d'Abidjan, où il vit actuellement en exil, il répond aux questions de Christophe Boisbouvier. RFI : Le 21 septembre, plus de 6 millions de Guinéens sont appelés à se prononcer par référendum pour ou contre la nouvelle Constitution. Est-ce que vous allez appeler à voter oui ou non ? Cellou Dalein Diallo : L'UFDG ne se sent pas concerné par cette opération parce que, d'abord, la junte n'a jamais accepté qu'il y ait un dialogue pour définir les termes dans lesquels le retour à l'ordre constitutionnel soit réorganisé. Et elle a toujours fait ce qu'elle a voulu. Et donc, l'UFDG et les coalitions dont on est membre ne se sentent pas concernés. Est-ce à dire que vous allez appeler à l'abstention ? Nous sommes en train de nous concerter puisque, au-delà de nos coalitions, il y a beaucoup d'autres partis politiques et d'organisations de la société civile qui n'acceptent pas cette Constitution imposée, dans la mesure où elle comporte une violation des engagements pris et du serment que le général avait prêté : de ne pas candidater, ni lui-même, ni les membres du Comité national du rassemblement pour le développement (CNRD), ni les membres du gouvernement. Donc, nous sommes en train de voir comment nous pourrions nous organiser pour effectivement s'opposer à cet autre coup d'État contre le peuple de Guinée, contre les droits et libertés des Guinéens de choisir librement leurs dirigeants. Parce que vous suivez sans doute toutes ces mobilisations, toutes ces « mamaya » comme on le dit chez nous, pour promouvoir, justifier la candidature de Mamadi Doumbouya qu'on veut présenter comme un homme providentiel qui doit continuer justement ce chantier, alors que sa gouvernance a été catastrophique pour le peuple de Guinée, marquée par une violation massive et récurrente des droits humains et des libertés fondamentales, marquée par les disparitions forcées. Vous connaissez Foniké Mengué, Billo Bah, Marouane Camara, Sadou Nimaga. Il y a au moins quatre acteurs majeurs de la société civile et des journalistes qui sont portés disparus et dont on n'a pas de nouvelles jusqu'à maintenant. Je ne parle pas de la corruption et de détournement des deniers publics. Avec la manne minière – comme vous le savez, la bauxite aujourd'hui s'exporte – ils vont faire peut-être 200 millions de tonnes cette année, contre une vingtaine de millions en 2015. Et donc, il y a de l'argent. Mais justement, vous pourriez appeler à voter non ? Non, mais les conditions d'un scrutin juste et transparent ne sont pas réunies. Je vous rappelle que c'est le ministère de l'Administration du territoire dirigé par un général, appuyé de ces préfets qui sont tous militaires et de ces sous-préfets qui sont à 60% issus des forces de défense et de sécurité, qui vont organiser ce référendum. Et donc, dans un environnement où il y a une terreur qui s'abat sur le peuple de Guinée, où il y a la peur, la corruption et donc l'expression de la volonté populaire ne sera jamais prise en compte. Donc, nous, nous ne sommes pas pour cette mascarade, tout juste pour doter le pays d'une Constitution qui permettra à Doumbouya de confisquer le pouvoir. Voilà plus de trois ans, Cellou Dalein Diallo, que vous vivez en exil en Afrique de l'Ouest, notamment parce que vous êtes poursuivi par la justice guinéenne. Et il y a six semaines, vous avez tenté de vous faire recenser à Abidjan afin de pouvoir voter au référendum du 21 septembre prochain, mais cela n'a pas marché. Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé alors ? On m'a dit « non », que des instructions ont été données par les autorités de Conakry de ne pas me recenser. Je suis allé à un bureau, on m'a renvoyé. On a même fermé le bureau dès mon arrivée pour plier tout et partir. Et donc, je n'ai pas pu me recenser. Pour justifier votre non-recensement, le Premier ministre actuel, Monsieur Bah Oury, a affirmé sur RFI, il y a quelques jours qu'il y avait vous concernant un problème en termes de résidence et qu'il fallait que vous attestiez d'une résidence d'une certaine durée ce que vous n'aviez pu faire et qu'il n'y a aucune volonté d'exclure qui que ce soit de ce processus. Le rôle de Bah Oury est de justifier ce que la junte a pris comme décision. Alors moi, je disposais de tous les documents requis. Donc, ce que le Premier ministre dit, c'est de la contre-vérité. Il y a un peu plus d'un an, c'était en juin 2024 sur RFI, vous nous avez dit : je vais rentrer bientôt à Conakry. Or, vous n'êtes toujours pas rentré. Pourquoi ? Les conditions de mon retour ne sont pas encore réunies. Il y a trop de haine et de harcèlement. Vous voyez tout ce qu'ils font tous les jours pour empêcher la tenue du Congrès, pour refuser que je m'enrôle dans le fichier électoral, pour déclencher des poursuites fantaisistes contre moi. Donc, j'attends qu'il y ait moins de passion et de haine. Mais dans tous les cas, ma place est là-bas auprès du peuple pour mener le combat contre les dérives qui s'annoncent.

Recta final en las elecciones presidenciales de Bolivia con un cerrado porcentaje en las intenciones de votos. Las encuestas apuntan a un 2% entre los candidatos de derecha, Samuel Doria Medina y Jorge Quiroga. No obstante, algunos analistas estiman que los pronósticos podrían cambiar vertiginosamente porque no se sabe hacia dónde van a dirigir sus votos los simpatizantes de izquierda: un voto nulo o un voto a favor del candidato Andrónico Rodríguez que lo lanzaría al segundo o primer lugar. Queda una semana para las elecciones generales en Bolivia y comienzan los cierres de campaña de los aspirantes a la Presidencia. Samuel Doria Medina (Unidad, centroderecha liberal) y Jorge Quiroga (Libre, de derecha liberal conservadora) lideran las encuestas, pero no seguro que sean ellos los que vayan a segunda vuelta ya que el resultado dependerá en gran parte, vaticinan analistas, de los indecisos, que tradicionalmente han votado por los candidatos de la izquierda, especialmente del Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) que ha dirigido ese país suramericano en los últimos 20 años. Según las diferentes encuestas de intención de voto, no hay una orientación clara para saber si el nuevo presidente de Bolivia será de derecha, de centro o de izquierda. “Ahorita la moneda está en el aire”, así lo resume la politóloga Ana Lucía Velasco, experta en psicología electoral. “El candidato de izquierda, Andrónico Rodríguez (Alianza Popular), está el tercer o cuarto lugar según las encuestas. [Rodríguez] comenzó con un 12%. Ha ido bajando. Ahorita está en un 8%. Repoussés, renégociés... Les nouveaux droits de douane américains portant sur des produits brésiliens exportés entrent en vigueur ce mercredi 6 août 2025. Ils illustrent les tensions croissantes entre les États-Unis et le Brésil autour du sort judiciaire de l'ancien président Jair Bolsonaro. Et leurs conséquences sont déjà visibles dans le pays.   Alors qu'ils entrent ce mercredi 6 août 2025 en vigueur, la presse brésilienne fait le point sur les conséquences que vont avoir les 50% de surtaxes imposés par Donald Trump sur les produits brésiliens. Le média en ligne G1 s'inquiète. Le café n'est toujours pas exempté de ces droits de douane, alors qu'il s'agit du principal produit agricole brésilien vendu aux États-Unis. Selon le média, les pertes, seulement pour le café, pourraient dépasser les 481 millions de dollars. De son côté, le média local NSC Total, basé à Florianópolis, fait le point sur les conséquences déjà visibles dans l'État de Santa Catarina. De nombreuses entreprises locales, de meubles et de produits en bois, destinaient près de 100% de leur production au marché américain. Selon NSC Total, certaines d'entre elles ont déjà commencé à licencier des travailleurs. Face à ces conséquences en chaîne, le quotidien conservateur de l'État du Paraná, Gazeta do Povo, critique le manque de réponse concrète de Lula. Et tente la comparaison : «Les taux appliqués aux produits brésiliens sont plus du double de ceux appliqués aux dictatures de gauche et ouvertement anti-américaines comme le Venezuela et le Nicaragua.»     La pression s'accroît sur les Haïtiens qui tentent de fuir la guerre    Dans son édition du jour, le média dominicain El Diario Libre évoque «la tragédie haïtienne qui se poursuit dans l'indifférence internationale». Le média politique américain voit aussi dans cette prise de position de Newsom une tribune qui pourrait être favorable, avant sa probable candidature à la présidentielle américaine de 2028.     Tensions diplomatiques entre la Colombie et le Pérou Les tensions resurgissent autour de l'occupation des îles de Santa Rosa, situées au milieu du fleuve Amazone. Elles sont disputées depuis des années, et avaient même entraîné un conflit armé entre les deux pays dans les années 1930. La souveraineté du territoire est revendiquée par le Pérou, qui a récemment intégré ces îles dans son district fédéral. Mais pour le président colombien, Gustavo Petro, le gouvernement péruvien s'est emparé de territoires appartenant à la Colombie. Une déclaration qui n'a pas plu aux Péruviens. La Tertulia de los Lunes con Martín Bueno, Juan Erosa, Teresa Herrera y Tomás Teijeiro. *** El Frente Amplio aprobó este sábado, por unanimidad, su plan político para lo que queda de 2025 y el año 2026, que busca consolidar su rol como partido de gobierno, respaldar la gestión del presidente Yamandú Orsi y proyectarse hacia las elecciones de 2029. El plan político se apoya en un diagnóstico, según el cual el nuevo gobierno de izquierda tiene la “oportunidad” de “avanzar en un país de largo alcance”, pero enfrenta dificultades, como la conformación del Parlamento, donde el oficialismo no cuenta con mayoría propia. El texto que salió del plenario enfatiza en la necesidad de “acompañar las medidas del gobierno” y “explicarlas”. A esos efectos, el FA intentará abordar un “proceso de fortalecimiento” que le permita “ensanchar” los acuerdos con otros actores sociales. Entre las medidas centrales está el relanzamiento de “El FA te escucha”, con recorridas por todo el país para dialogar con la población, sindicatos, empresarios y otros agentes de la sociedad. En esos encuentros, entre otras cosas, se difundirá la situación económica del país heredada de la gestión anterior así como las deudas que quedaron de la administración pasada. Según el presidente de la coalición de izquierda, Fernando Pereira, el país que se encontró el 1 de marzo dista mucho de ser una “Ferrari”, como dijeron jerarcas del gobierno pasado, y el oficialismo tiene la “responsabilidad” de hacer pública esa realidad. Pereira destacó que en apenas el 8% del mandato ya se concretaron medidas como la baja del precio de la garrafa de supergas, el pago del bono escolar y la suspensión del proyecto Neptuno, y se refirió a la nueva etapa que comienza. “Ni bien termine el Día del Comité de Base, el 25 de agosto, va a haber una gira nacional de senadores y senadoras, diputados y diputadas, ediles y edilas, la estructura del Frente Amplio, para conversar pueblo a pueblo, ciudad a ciudad, localidad a localidad, con las principales organizaciones del lugar, y volver a instalar `El FA te escucha´, que es una herramienta de diálogo que le permite al Frente Amplio tener oído atento a la demanda y un vínculo entre el Frente y el gobierno que escuche esa demanda y, en la medida de lo posible, la pueda cumplir“. Sobre su futuro como presidente del FA, no adelantó definiciones, aunque señaló que el objetivo es llegar al próximo congreso con una fuerza política fortalecida y en condiciones de impulsar transformaciones para los próximos 15 años.

Maximilien Robespierre es una de las figuras más controvertidas de la Revolución Francesa. Encarna mejor que ningún otro las contradicciones de un proceso que reclamaba libertad pero que terminó en el baño de sangre del Terror revolucionario. Nacido en Arrás en el seno de una familia burguesa, su infancia estuvo marcada por la tragedia: primero la muerte de su madre y luego el abandono de su padre le forzaron a asumir responsabilidades familiares desde muy joven, algo que moldeó su carácter convirtiéndole en un hombre extremadamente serio y reservado. Este trauma infantil alimentó su obsesión por el orden y justicia. Influido por el pensamiento de Rousseau, esa misma obsesión la proyectaría en su ideal de la "república de la virtud”. Educado en el prestigioso Colegio Louis-le-Grand de París, destacó como un estudiante brillante, admirador de la virtud cívica romana y de las ideas ilustradas. Tras graduarse en derecho, regresó a Arrás como abogado, donde se ganó muy buena reputación defendiendo causas perdidas y abogando por la razón frente a la superstición. Con la convocatoria de los Estados Generales en 1789 decidió presentarse a las elecciones para representar al tercer estado. Consiguió ser elegido y se trasladó a Versalles ya como diputado por la provincia de Artesia. En la Asamblea Nacional se hizo muy conocido como un defensor intransigente de los principios democráticos, defendía en minoría el sufragio universal, la abolición de la pena de muerte, de la esclavitud, y clamaba por los derechos de las minorías como los protestantes y los judíos. Aunque sus propuestas solían ser rechazadas, su coherencia le valió el apodo de "el incorruptible”. Se hizo también con la presidencia del club de los Jacobinos, donde se convirtió en casi su única voz tras la fuga de Luis XVI en 1791. Esto radicalizó sus posturas. Empezó a ver en la monarquía y en los moderados una amenaza contrarrevolucionaria que había que eliminar de raíz. Con la proclamación de la República en 1792 instigó la creación del Comité de Salvación Pública un año más tarde. Este Comité inauguraría la fase más negra y sangrienta de la revolución, la del Terror, un régimen represivo y violento que Robespierre y los jacobinos creían que era necesario para salvar a la Revolución de sus enemigos. Leyes como la de sospechosos o la del 22 de pradial permitieron detenciones arbitrarias y ejecuciones sistemáticas de todos los adversarios del poder jacobino. Al final se empezaron a guillotinar entre ellos. Su visión de una "República de la Virtud” que lo abarcase todo le llevó a promover el culto al Ser Supremo, un intento de unificar moralmente a Francia, pero su autoritarismo, su paranoia y sus ínfulas de iluminado alejaron incluso a sus aliados más cercanos. Meses después de la ejecución de Danton, el 9 de Termidor (27 de julio de 1794), una coalición de opositores en la Convención le derrocó. Arrestado tras un intento fallido de insurrección, Robespierre fue ejecutado sin juicio al día siguiente. Los termidorianos le convirtieron en el chivo expiatorio de los excesos revolucionarios creando a su alrededor una "leyenda negra" que le presentaba como el único culpable de todo lo que había pasado. Mucho tiempo después el marxismo reivindicó su figura como la de un precursor de sus ideas. Robespierre personifica el dilema del revolucionario que, en pos de una sociedad supuestamente mejor y más justa, recurre a la violencia extrema. Es el símbolo de los peligros del fanatismo ideológico y de la siempre complicada relación entre fines y medios en la lucha por el poder.
