Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills Pick Prediction 8/28/2021 by Tony T. Packers at Bills—NFL pick is Green Bay Packers +9.5. No team in the preseason has been able to cover as a seven point favorite or greater the past eleven seasons. Bills know what they have in Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky. It could be the David Webb and Jake Fromm show if the team looks for a third quarterback on their roster of practice squad. When Fromm and Webb saw the bulk of action against the Lions it was only a one point win. Aaron Rodgers wont take snap in preseason. Team want's better production from Jordan Love and Kurt Benkert as they head into the regular season. 21 points scored in two preseason games, so the Packers need better offensive showing here. Play Green Bay +9.5.

The Buffalo Bills ran their preseason win streak to seven with a thoroughly dominant 41-15 trouncing of the Chicago Bears Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field. There was plenty to like from the win, along with several areas where the Bills can improve, and on the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D'Amico give you their thoughts on what they liked and what they didn't like after Buffalo improved to 2-0 this preseason. Among the players who made a favorable impression on our podcasters: Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who effectively ran Brian Daboll's offense, guiding the Bills to touchdowns on their first four possessions while completing 20 of 28 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown. Rookie edge rusher Greg Rousseau, who came up with a sack and three quarterback hurries on just nine snaps. Fellow defensive ends A.J. Epenesa and Carlos "Boogie" Basham Jr., who helped Buffalo's pass rush generate four sacks and 12 QB hits while causing chaos in the backfield. Running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, who averaged 7.0 yards per carry in rushing for 42 yards on six carries. Singletary eluded the defense and broke off a 14-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-one, while Moss nearly scored on a nifty 11-yard scamper. Wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who rebounded from an early muff of a punt to catch seven passes for 72 yards. Tackle Spencer Brown, who played well at both left and right tackle and held his own going up against Khalil Mack. Wide receiver/returner Marquez Stevenson, who broke off an electrifying 79-yard punt return for a TD. Tight end Jacob Hollister, who might be pushing Dawson Knox for the TE1 role. Safety Damar Hamlin and cornerbacks Rachad Wildgoose and Nick McCloud. Those whose performances were less than stellar included: Tackle Bobby Hart, whose poor play along the offensive line could get one of Buffalo's quarterbacks hurt. Tight end Dawson Knox, who continues to struggle with drops and consistency. Quarterbacks Davis Webb and Jake Fromm, who failed to build upon a successful preseason opener. Cornerback Siran Neal, who was badly beaten on a long touchdown pass before halftime. Injuries, as Brown, Stevenson, Harrison Phillips, Dane Jackson (stinger), and Tommy Doyle all left the game with injuries. Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions Pick Prediction 8/13/2021 by Tony T. Bills at Lions—NFL free pick is Buffalo Bills at a pick. Prefer the Bills quarterback rotation here. Backing up Josh Allen in Buffalo are Mitch Trubisky, Jake Fromm and the traveled Davis Webb. Trubisky has starter experience with the Bears. Fromm enters his second training camp with the Bills. Webb enters his fifth training camp. He was a third round pick and has served as the backup to Eli Manning. Jared Goff under center for Detroit. They have a weak backup crew in Tim Boyle and David Blough. Bills won and covered all four of their preseason games under McDermott in 2019. Lions have lost and failed to cover seven of their past eight preseason games. Lions are rebuilding as gone are their top three receivers from a year ago. There is a lot of work needed on this Lions defense that surrendered 420 yards per game.

On the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D’Amico begin their offseason State of the Bills series of podcasts by breaking down and reviewing the contributions the Bills got from their quarterbacks during the 2020 season. For the first time since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly retired following the end of the 1996 season, the Bills are set at the most important position in football: the quarterback. Josh Allen enjoyed an MVP-caliber season in leading the Bills (13-3) to the AFC Championship game, setting single-season franchise records for passing yards (4,544), completions (396), completion percentage (69.2), TD passes (37), total TDs (46), 300-yard games (8), and passer rating (107.2) while directing an offense that scored the most points (501) in franchise history. Allen’s play on the field silenced nearly all of his critics. In finishing as runner-up to Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers in MVP voting, Allen’s completion percentage soared more than 10 points, from 58.8 to a phenomenal 69.2 in 2020, just the fourth QB in the last 20 years to enjoy at least a 10-percent improvement. His passer rating spiked from 85.3 to 107.2, and he helped Buffalo win its first AFC East title and playoff game in 25 years. We review the progress Allen made in his third year as Buffalo’s starting quarterback, specifically how he improved his mechanics, his deep ball accuracy, and his performance against the blitz. We also offer up areas where we’d like to see Allen get even better in 2021. We then take a look at the rest of the quarterback room, which includes Matt Barkley, Jake Fromm and Davis Webb. We address whether Barkley is the answer as Buffalo’s backup quarterback, discuss what the team has in Webb and Fromm, and mention two possible free agents general manager Brandon Beane could sign to significantly upgrade the depth behind Allen. Alabama Football Podcast - College Football Talk dedicated to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide

Oh, glory be, fall is here. The crisp winds have made landfall across the south and, albeit delayed, topflight college football is in the offing. Only whispers of it please, for 2020 can hear you, but tufts of normalcy are threatening to emerge from this long threadbare of a year. For sake of expediency, I’ll dispense with further preamble and introduce and get on with the main course. The Crimson Tide of Alabama is poised for big things in 2020. The roster is well stocked and the demons of a three loss 2019 (calendar, not season), are poised for exorcise. Blow the horn, let’s go. Quarterback To begin the season, junior Mac Jones will play ahead of freshman phenom Bryce Young, who is backed by rs-freshman Paul Tyson. Reports from camp have been positive regarding all three scholarshipped signal callers, and that’s certainly good news as each will see action. Roster / Rotation Let’s say this once and agree it applies to all positions. Rotations will be faster and deeper due the threat of Covid along with NCAA allowances regarding eligibility. More players will play more snaps as Saban resists his urge to shorten the bench. It should be lots of fun for roster watchers. With that done, let’s get on with it. Mac, Bryce, Paul is the gist of the roster and rotation at quarterback. Anything else, absent injury or illness, is a headline grab. What to Watch For But that’s not to say there’s a want for watch items. How firm is Mac’s grasp on the starting role and exactly how ready is Bryce Young, are top shelf questions. For those answers we read the breadcrumbs: Snap count distribution – Saban is loyal to his starters and knows the top guys need reps to refine their games. When guys rotate heavily its often due to an uncertain long-term pecking order – see AJ McCarron and Philip Sims Score differential – Does Bryce see substantial action while the game is still in question? Missouri may distort this observation but watch for it. Units – As the backup, Bryce will play with the backups, but does he get reps and drives with the rest of the starting offensive unit? Situational football – how does a player respond to key situations – third and long, 2-minute offense, 4-minute offense, rebounding from a bad play, answering a score, adjustments out of half? A backup quarterback can look good but never really face these opportunities when they matter. A true winner excels in these moments. How quick is Saban to put Bryce into these situations? That will be telling. Prediction Saban is Smarter than Smart At one time Georgia boasted Jacob Eason, Jake Fromm, and Justin Fields in their quarterback room. That did not end well for Kirby and his hounds. Saban prefers to keep both Mac and Bryce happy, but you can bet he’s determined who he wants if he can only keep one. I’ll help you with the easy ones, that’s going to be Bryce Young. Against Missouri, Mac Jones is likely to see most of the action into the third quarter. This is more a reflection of TAMU in week two than Young’s readiness, so be prepared to ignore the blustery reports and second guessing. Instead watch for the signs of Bryce getting pre-defined reps with the ones. I don’t believe Saban will pull a Spurrier and rotate quarterbacks every snap, but look for a drive count rotation similar to how he managed running backs earlier in his Alabama days. A rotation that is situationally independent is a sign that a change in pecking order may be coming. Running Back Under Nick Saban Alabama has boasted a deep corps of running backs on the regular. Truth is, the hype the 2020 group is getting is more a reflection of 20
