BYU football takes on the Arizona Wildcats this Saturday night in Tucson, Arizona. The Cougars enter the game at 5-0 and 2-0 in Big 12 play and are ranked No. 18 in the AP Top 25 poll. Arizona is 4-1 and 1-1 in Big 12 play. The two teams have quarterbacks who have been playing at a high level this season in Bear Bachmeier and Noah Fifita. Fifita grew up a Utah Utes fan and wasn't a fan of BYU, but he has a lot of respect for BYU football head coach Kalani Sitake. KSL Sports BYU Insider Mitch Harper discussed the importance of the two quarterbacks in this matchup. An interview with BYU running back LJ Martin, who is one of the top running backs in the Big 12 Conference this season. Finally, Mitch shares his three bold predictions for BYU basketball in the 2025-26 season as the Cougars gear up for the most anticipated season in program history. KSL Sports BYU Insider Mitch Harper gave his closing thoughts on the game, along with his Stock Exchange report that includes Bear Bachmeier being named Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the performance. The big question for BYU moving forward is the injuries to Jack Kelly and Isaiah Glasker at linebacker. How long they are out could be significant to BYU's odds of winning games. Also, in this episode of Cougar Tracks, Mitch discussed BYU basketball landing a commitment from the No. 1 junior college recruit in the country, KJ Perry, out of Citrus College. On today's show, after rehashing the first day of the Memphis Grizzlies training camp and looking ahead to day two, we'll breakdown the resolution of the Jonathan Kuminga/Golden State contract standoff and where it leaves their roster before discussing the playoff odds of the biggest fallers in this week's AP Top 25 Poll.
We're back from an incredible trip to State College, and we've got a lot of college football to unpack, starting with the news that Sam Pittman has been fired at Arkansas. With Bobby Petrino taking over as interim head coach, we discuss the likely candidates to permanently replace Pittman, including Rhett Lashlee, GJ Kinney, John Sumrall, Deion Sanders, and others. From there, we dive deep into conference power rankings for all four major conferences. We go team-by-team through the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12, making some calls that'll probably upset you. We disagree on Georgia's placement after their home loss to Alabama, try to make sense of ACC chaos beyond Miami, figure out which Big 12 teams are actually good, and weirdly agree on a relatively orderly Big Ten. We also share stray thoughts from Week 5 games we didn't get to discuss in detail—Ohio State's dominant defense, Ole Miss looking legit, LSU's offensive struggles, the USC-Illinois thriller, and why Mississippi State deserves more respect. Finally, we break down two massive Week 6 matchups with early predictions. For Vanderbilt at Alabama, we explain why this revenge game might not go the way most expect. And for Miami at Florida State, we discuss why this spread has dropped significantly and why we're both taking the Seminoles with the points in their first true test. Finally, we share our completely unfiltered experience from Penn State's Whiteout game between Oregon and Penn State. The crowd was ear-splitting and incredible—truly one of the best environments in college football. From the tailgate scene to the in-game atmosphere to the postgame chaos, we give you the full State College experience.
