Originally uploaded April 8th, updated June 6th. Chris Holman welcomes Phil Sklar, Co-Founder and CEO, National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, Milwaukee, WI. Welcome Phil, tell us about your Hall of Fame? So you release timely bobbleheads that celebrate the business of sports? Several of your released items have honored sports in Michigan,... this week for the Spartans and the NCAA tournament, and recently MSU Coach Izzo? Talk about the process, are you contacted by universities or does your team research stories deserving bobbleheads? How big a market is there for sports bobbleheads? For reference one of the recent bobbleheads released through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum: In celebration of Coach Tom Izzo breaking the Big Ten Conference win record, Michigan State's Big Ten Regular Season Title and March Madness, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed, limited-edition Coach Izzo Win Counter Bobblehead. The interactive bobblehead that includes two win counters that fans can use to track Coach Izzo's total wins and conference wins features Coach Izzo, who has led the Spartans for 30 years and recently became the all-time winningest coach in Big Ten Conference history. On Thursday night, Michigan State won the Big Ten regular season title by defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Spartans are currently ranked #8 in the AP Top 25 and #7 in the Coaches Poll ahead of the regular season finale against Michigan on Sunday before the Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Tournament begin. The special edition bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Michigan State University. The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in August, are now available at this link. Each bobblehead will be individually numbered to only 2,025. The bobbleheads are $40 each plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order. Coach Izzo will be donating his portion of the proceeds to scholarships for his student managers. Standing on a block court-like base, the Tom Izzo Win Counter Bobblehead has his fist raised triumphantly in the air while holding a basketball adorned with the MSU logo. The front of the block base reads ‘COACH IZZO” and has a win counter that can be adjusted with each victory by the Spartans while the back of the base has a counter that tracks conference wins. On Saturday, February 15th, Izzo broke former Indiana coach Bob Knight's record with the Spartans' 79-65 victory over Illinois at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois. The win was the 354th Big Ten Conference victory for Izzo, passing Knight for the most conference wins in league history. “I just want to be thankful for the 148 players I coached,” Izzo said after the game. “Each one of them got a win, and those wins helped me. The presidents, the Ads, my assistant coaches. And over six million fans that watched this over those 354 wins, so that's who I want to thank.” With that victory, Izzo upped his career record to 727-300. He trails only seven other active coaches in the sport on the all-time wins list. A native of Iron Mountain, Michigan, the 70-year-old Izzo took over for Jud Heathcote in 1995 after 11 years as an assistant coach. He led the Spartans to their second national title in 2000 with an 89-76 victory over Florida. The Spartans also finished as the national runner-up in 2009. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,....

Louisville men's basketball has gone through some tough times but it appears as if the Cardinals have risen from the ashes and created a 'new self'. That new self isn't quite like the 'old self' but maybe, just maybe that's a good thing. Jeremy Wahman of Cardinal Sports Zone brings his large-than-life personality back to the show and illustrates why he's the 'goat' when it comes to slinging sports fandom hash. He shares his many years of connectivity with the school and close-up observations on what's what with the men's team. After rolling through a number of coaches and players the combination in place has earned the team a No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament where they are slated to play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13 and are currently ranked No. 13 in the AP Top 25. An important cog in the wheel to get this all in motion has been new head coach Pat Kelsey who has been honored with the ACC Coach of the Year award and Louisville's Chucky Hepburn who earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Louisville Aside from the chaos that putting Wahman together with Will and Jim creates there are tons of tidbits helping to explain the journey to success. From the impact of previous coaches to NIL and overcoming injury bugs we're sure that as a Louisville fan (or competitor) you may find something just for you on this episode. In addition to listening to the podcast be sure to subscribe (more options than you might imagine) or catch the program on ACC Nation Radio where we also have podcasts from All Sports Discussion and features that are only found on the channel. You can watch ACC Nation on YouTube as well. Be sure to listen, like and subscribe to any or all three. We thank you for listening and watching ACC Nation. By the way, you can thank Wahman for the Louisville 'red' in our graphics. It was a special request.

Here comes the rain & snow! Was already raining this morning and we're looking at a switch to snow sometime during the overnight. In the news this morning…an update on the Pope's condition, an audit in Wisconsin found not one single voting machine error during the November elections, it's been a month since the Amber Alert for Sophia Franklin was issued & she still hasn't been found, a bill to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls & women's sports failed to advance, and a New Richmond man is arrested & charged with murdering his wife. In sports, the Bucks play the Hawks tonight, the Badgers play the Gophers tomorrow night & somehow only slipped one spot in the AP Top 25 poll after losing to MSU on Sunday, Sam Darnold likely won't be franchise tagged by the Vikings, and Jimmy Johnson is retiring from Fox Sports. We let you know what's on TV tonight and what's new for New Release Tuesday. Plus, Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show joined us just after 8am. Some emotional stories about a father/daughter dance and video store owner that recently closed his store but saved one customer's favorite movies. Sad news as the "Man with the Golden Arm" recently passed away after helping to save the lives of millions of children. Elsewhere in sports, Jimmy Butler is allegedly a bad tenant, the L.A. Kings messed up BIG time, and a student sinks a 94' putt on a basketball court to win a brand new car! You know when a friend recommends a show to you, and adds: "Give it a few episodes, I swear it's good"? Well, they're probably not wrong. The latest stupid TikTik trend/challenge is apparently feeding butter to your baby to help them sleep through the night. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaWoman who stabbed her boyfriend because he wouldn't eat her cooking, an A.I. robot that attacked a crowd of people after a "software glitch", another #FloridaWoman who tried to use Mountain Dew to cover up her crimes, and a woman who caught her husband cheating on her in the back of a van.
