It's June, which means it's time to get into the 2025 JMU football schedule — and we're doing it with a twist. Inspired by the Ringer Fantasy Football Podcast's schedule draft format, Jack and Bennett each draft games off the Dukes' schedule across five categories: - Home Game You'd Most Want to Attend - Home Game Worth Skipping - Road Game Worth Attending - Must-Watch TV Game - Pumpkin Picking Day (the game you skip altogether to build relationship goodwill before championship season) From the Troy rematch under the lights to a 10 PM kick at San Diego State on the CW, we break down every game worth circling on your calendar — and a few you should hand off entirely. Plus: a deep dive into the state of the Sun Belt Conference, why the league's national profile has slipped since JMU joined, what it would take for the Dukes to crack the College Football Playoff conversation, and whether the Sun Belt can still compete for G5 supremacy against a rising American Athletic Conference. Coach is joined by Charles Davis to break down a fascinating wave of high-profile coaching changes and program resets across college football. The guys dive right into the massive musical chairs happening at the top, starting with Matt Campbell taking over a Penn State program that Charles calls "the university of the Northeast". They note that while James Franklin put up great numbers, his struggles in high-profile national games ultimately opened the door for Campbell's elite talent-developing style. Moving over to Michigan, they pull back the curtain on Kyle Whittingham’s unique transition; it turns out Utah was already priming Morgan Scalley as the coach-in-waiting, which essentially allowed Michigan to swoop in and land Whittingham without a massive buyout battle since he had technically stepped down. Down south, they expect Alex Golesh to be a seamless fit with Auburn’s incredibly loyal fanbase thanks to his deep southern recruiting roots and explosive offensive background from Tennessee, while John Sumrall’s jump from Tulane to Florida has them both highly optimistic given his proven knack for elevating programs. To wrap things up, the guys rank three powerhouse programs looking to bounce back under their current leadership. Lincoln Riley’s USC squad takes the #1 spot after glowing spring reports about the trenches looking better than they have in years. Dabo Swinney and Clemson land at #2 as Dabo finally embraces "Realville" by mixing the transfer portal and NIL into his traditional high school recruiting philosophy. At a distant #3 is Mike Norvell’s Florida State team, where the hosts admit they're skeptical of a quick fix since the Seminoles just haven't looked the same since that heartbreaking playoff omission two seasons ago.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of Bleav in the ACC, the guys dive into Clemson football and the current state of the program under Dabo Swinney. From building a national powerhouse to navigating recent struggles, the discussion centers on how Clemson got here—and where it is headed next. The episode opens with a look at Dabo's rise and Clemson's dominance over the past decade, followed by an honest conversation about what has changed in recent years. The crew breaks down the impact of coaching turnover, recruiting shifts, and Clemson's delayed embrace of the transfer portal. They also discuss the team's major roster turnover, including multiple NFL Draft departures, and what that means for 2026. On offense, the focus turns to new coordinator Chad Morris, the quarterback battle led by Christopher Vizzina, and whether Clemson can regain its explosive identity. Defensively, the group examines heavy losses across the unit and whether portal additions can stabilize the roster. The conversation also explores broader themes around Dabo's philosophy, NIL, tampering concerns, and whether Clemson can still compete at the highest level. The guys close by breaking down Clemson's schedule, key matchups—including the season opener against LSU Tigers football—and projecting where the Tigers land this season. For understandable reasons, people all cautious about calling for teams to make coaching changes when the incumbent is a legend in the job. How careful should we be, though? In this episode, we go through the past 40-ish years of coaching transitions from living legend to … someone else. How do schools do when they either fire an all-timer or need to replace him in retirement? The answer isn't great, but it's not as bad as you might think. * 2:04: Why Dabo Swinney got us thinking about this subject * 16:20: The rare cases of the “guy after the guy” arguably doing a better job than the coach he replaced, or at least winning more games for a while* 21:15: The maintainers who kept the train on the tracks, like Ryan Day* 39:13: The long, slow declines, like Virginia Tech post-Frank Beamer* 59:52: The tank jobs, like Ron Zook or Ron Prince * 1:24:16: The cases where the jury is still out, like Kalen DeBoer. Big Shot Bob and the team dive deep into various hot topics in sports. Starting with a heated discussion about Clemson’s Dabo Swinney calling out other teams for tampering with his players, Big Shot Bob contends that while Dabo has a point, the NCAA’s lack of rules makes it a lawless environment. The conversation shifts to the adverse effects of the transfer portal on high school athletes' recruitment, emphasizing how the portal's existence has complicated the traditional process of getting into college sports.   The episode also covers Deion Sanders' new rules at Colorado, where he implements monetary penalties for player infractions, igniting a debate on the fairness and feasibility of such fines for college athletes who may not be making significant NIL money. The hosts argue whether it’s a fair method of discipline or if it could potentially push players to transfer out. Additionally, the notion of potential trades for college players surfaces, with the crew discussing the complexities and unlikely feasibility of such trades given the current state of college athletics.   Towards the end, the show explores the longevity of players in the modern NBA, citing how current stars like LeBron James and Stephen Curry continue to excel well into their late 30s and early 40s. The hosts contrast this with older generations, attributing the shift to improved fitness regimes and a more offensively driven game. They wrap up with a light-hearted segment about sentimental items that have stood the test of time, sharing personal stories of cherished belongings, from old clothes to long-lived cars, bringing a humorous and nostalgic close to the episode.   00:00 Introduction and Host Greetings 00:58 Dabo Swinney's Rant on Tampering 01:42 NCAA's Lack of Guardrails 02:32 Accountability in College Sports 03:24 Coaches vs. Players: Double Standards 07:16 Impact of Transfer Portal on High School Recruits 10:18 NIL Deals and Player Fines 14:37 The Future of College Sports: Collective Bargaining and Unionization 15:17 The Concept of Trading College Players 17:04 Aging NBA Stars: Performance and Longevity 19:49 Will We See Another 73-9 Season? 21:15 The Emotional Attachment to Personal Belongings
