The whole saga of the Stayner family is heartbreaking, and one of the strangest cases in true crime. In the early 70s, Steven Stayner was abducted by a predator who in addition to abusing him for 7 years, attempted to make him his son..until he aged out, and the predator tried to make him recruit a new brother. He refused, but the predator found one anyway. Rather than let him put this new boy through the hell he had gone through, Steven and the new boy escaped, and both were reunited with their families. Steven had been gone for 7 years, and the media frenzy made Cary fade into the background. In the 1980s, Jody Plauche was kidnapped and molested by a family friend. After the police rescued him, his father took matters into his own hands and killed the man who hurt his child. I will be talking with Jody about how these events impacted him and his family.

On Feb 19, 1984, 11-year-old Jody Plauche was abducted from his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. What was seemingly unique about this abduction is that Jody was not abducted kicking and screaming. He willingly and knowingly went with his abductor, Jeff Doucet. Talking to Jody Plauche This is video feed from our live interview we did with child abuse survivor, Jody Plauche. Jody was kidnapped and abused by his karate instructor, Jeff Doucet, in 1984. Jeff had taken Jody to California where he would be abused by Jeff. Police searched the country for Jody, he was found after Doucet allowed the boy to place a collect call to his mother from the motel. On March 16, 1984, Doucet was flown back to Louisiana to face trial. Doucet arrived at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, and was led in handcuffs by police officers through the airport at around 9:30 p.m., where Gary Plauché, Jody's father was waiting for Doucet with a handgun. As Doucet was escorted through the airport, Gary fired a shot point blank, hitting Jeff close to his right ear. The infamous video of Jeff being shot, can be seen on Youtube. Plauché was originally charged with second-degree murder, but agreed to a plea bargain in which he pleaded no contest to manslaughter. Tonight, we cover “The other” Baton Rouge serial killer, Sean Gillis. And, like we were for Derrick Todd Lee, The Baton Rouge serial killer, we are once again joined by Jody Plauche. Sean was a momma's boy from the minute he was born until he was arrested for murder, and he probably still is. This gave him a mindset that everyone owed him. He began his murder spree later in life than most serial killers, but he was one of the more grisly ones, dismembering his victims, and raping their corpses, and even eating some of it. He hooked up with a woman who had a troubled past, and had a skeleton in her closet of her own, but she was determined to turn her life around, and thought she had found the man of her dreams when she met Sean. She had no clue that he was a serial killer, and Sean did this for 10 years, killing 8 women. Jody Plauche', from Baton Rouge, LA., made national headlines in March of 1984 when he was abducted by his karate teacher, Jeff Doucet. During this awful abduction, Jody was taken 2,000 miles away from his home to Los Angeles, CA. FBI officials were eventually able to rescue Jody and arrest his abductor, Jeff Doucet. After medical exams were performed on Jody, it was determined that he was sexually assaulted by Jeff. After learning this horrible news, Jody's father, Gary Plauche', learned the specifics of when the abductor, Jeff, was going to be brought back to Baton Rouge, LA. Gary strategically placed himself at a bank of payphones and as Jeff and the FBI agents walked by him, he fired a single, shot at point blank range striking Jeff in the head eventually leading to his death the next day. His son, Jody Plauche', has now written a book titled Why Gary Why? detailing this difficult experience.
