It's with great pleasure and expectation that I welcome my dear friend and fellow heaven sojourner, Timothy Bence, back to the show.  I could think of none better to teach on inheritance and stewarding our Kingdom for the Kings on Fire™ peeps as we begin our course on the territories of our Kingdom. As Timothy weaves biblical teaching with the story of his own journey to finding and redeeming his inheritance you will laugh, you will cry, and you will learn. We had to divide the story up because it's just SO juicy!  (Fantastic, but LOOOONG…) So forgive the cliffhangers and abrupt cuts. Come back next week for the continuation.  Enjoy!PURE GOLD:“Sit at the right hand of God and see/learn how he runs his kingdom.”“Lay your land before the Lord and ask if it is inheritance, or just an asset.”“The best thing to do is say, God, would you lead me to my inheritance? Help me define the field that's calling out my name by design, because there I have the highest level of grace to redeem it, and to be walking in the fullness of the blessings that you've given to my house.”BIO:Timothy Bence is a forerunning Kingdom of God builder, and has learned to walk in true sonship. He helps construct a foundation for others to build on, and instructs many to walk in their gifts, calling, and grace by being a part of the living body of Christ, the Ekklesia. He lives with a promise from the Lord, and a growing desire to see whole cities and nations saved where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord.Timothy keeps a balance between ministry and business, and has helped start several churches and ministries. He travels about 50 percent of the time, preaching and teaching, which has extended to almost every State in the US, and to over many nations thus far. He is the founder of a ministry called Jubilee Covenant that is restoring the Tabernacle of David and developing a model for 24-hour prayer, worship, and city structure. He has helped create ministries that provide aid to orphans, widows, and the poor within self-sustainable cities. His business is called World Feeder, and he has helped start several businesses that are involved in growing food and trade that helps create sustainable communities alongside mission bases. He holds a BA in General Studies and an MA in International Affairs, and participates locally in many different citywide efforts to bring unity and one accord to the Body of Christ in the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City.HIGHLIGHTS:- Barrenness makes us cry out - We have to disengage from a culture God doesn't honor- Haran = the place of hesitation- Say Yes, and then ask questions.- God doesn't always create it, sometimes He grows it- Not just for me, but for my household- When Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden of Eden, the lost lost its heir.- To qualify as a mature son, you have to have a relationship with Father. You have to look like Him, act like Him, and make decisions like Him.- God honors the heart first- Church vs. Ekklesia- An assembly (ekklesia) requires fully functioning legislators- Experientially living in both realms- Boundaries are important to GodLINK for TIMOTHY:– Contact Timothy Bence: IamTimothy@gmail.comLINKS for Bralynn:– Transform your world by the words you think and speak. This Podcast offers a pathway to continuing education via this CMEfy link: https://earnc.me/97u19s At the age of 32, Dennis Mihale, MD, made a decision that changed the course of his professional life. Although he was enjoying an exciting, rewarding career at IBM, he took a leave of absence and entered the School of General Studies at Columbia University to complete the prerequisites for medical school. With the support of his family, Mihale was accepted at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Clearly a non-traditional applicant at the age of 35, he was grateful for the school's confidence in his potential. Mihale soon proved himself to his colleagues and teachers. While in medical school, Mihale applied his background in engineering to design a flexible knee orthotic through a project sponsored by NASA. For his post-graduate training, he returned to his native New York to do a surgical internship and an orthopedic residency. He then took a year off to work at the IBM Research Center to develop an engineering model for robotic surgery. Under his direction, the project was completed, and the robot is currently used for hip replacement surgeries at the University of California at Davis. In 1990, Dr. Mihale continued his professional development and entered the Executive MBA Program at the University of South Florida. He subsequently helped to launch a health maintenance organization, and in January 1994, he started St. Augustine Health Care, a Medicaid and commercial HMO. The business prospered and ultimately achieved $30 million in annual revenues. St. Augustine was recently acquired by AvMed, and Dr. Mihale retired from that venture. Today, Dr. Mihale maintains a strong connection to the medical school and provides financial support, sponsors regional alumni meetings, and serves on the Dean's Leader-ship Cabinet. He is also involved in the development of a community clinic through his work with Tampa's Metropolitan Ministries. -=+=-=+=-=+= Are you a doctor struggling to provide the best care for your patients while dealing with financial and caregiving matters out of the scope of your practice? Forgotton CivilizationUpdated throughout with recent developments and additional illustrationsReveals how solar outbursts caused the end of the last ice age, unleashed catastrophe upon ancient advanced civilizations, and led to six millennia of a solar-induced Dark AgeIncludes evidence from solar science, geology, oceanic circulation patterns, the Sphinx, the underground cities of Cappadocia, the Easter Island rongorongo glyphs, and the Göbekli Tepe complex in TurkeyIn this newly revised and expanded edition, updated throughout with recent developments, geologist Robert Schoch builds upon his revolutionary theory that the origins of the Sphinx date back much further than 2500 BCE and examines scientific evidence of the catastrophe that destroyed early high culture nearly 12,000 years ago.Combining evidence from multiple scientific disciplines, Schoch makes the case that the abrupt end of the last ice age, circa 9700 BCE, was due to an agitated sun. Solar outbursts unleashed electrical/plasma discharges upon Earth, triggering dramatic climate change as well as increased earthquake and volcanic activity, fires, high radiation levels, and massive floods.Schoch explains how these events impacted the civilizations of the time, set humanity back thousands of years, and led to six millennia of a Solar-Induced Dark Age (SIDA). Applying the SIDA framework to ancient history, he explores how many megalithic monuments, petroglyphs, indigenous traditions, and legends fall logically into place, including the underground cities of Cappadocia, the Easter Island rongorongo glyphs, and the Göbekli Tepe complex in Turkey. He also reveals that our sun is a much more unstable star than previously believed, suggesting that history could repeat itself with a solar outburst powerful enough to devastate modern society.Weaving together a new view of the origins and antiquity of civilization and the dynamics of the planet we live on, Schoch maintains we must heed the megalithic warning of the past and collectively prepare for future events.Robert M. Schoch, a full-time faculty member at the College of General Studies at Boston University since 1984, earned his Ph.D. in geology and geophysics at Yale University. Dr. Schoch has been quoted extensively in the media for his work on the Sphinx, and he was featured on the Emmy-winning documentary The Mystery of the Sphinx, hosted by Charlton Heston.https://www.robertschoch.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/earth-ancients--2790919/support.

In a wide-ranging conversation, meet two of Best Buy Canada's standout veteran retail leaders: Mat Povse, Senior Vice President of Operations, and Eric Stockner, Vice President and Category Officer for Food, Home, and Baby. Mat and Eric join me on the mic to talk about big-picture trends, the current and future state of product innovation, this year's Black Friday performance (and what the point of Black Friday anyway), and what it takes to win the retail game in 2024 and beyond.Mat highlights that technology is now seen as a fundamental human need rather than a mere desire, reshaping consumer behaviour and expectations. They both observe a shift from a digital-first approach during the pandemic to a more balanced omnichannel experience where customers appreciate in-store expert advice. Eric notes that Black Friday has lost some excitement and urgency over the years, becoming more of an extended shopping period than a single event. While e-commerce has been pivotal during the pandemic, they agree that physical stores remain crucial for customer engagement and conversions. Looking ahead to 2024, both see continued investment in in-store experience and technology as key differentiators, focusing on personalizing customer interactions across all touchpoints, including their newly launched Best Buy ads platform. About MatMat Povse is the Senior Vice President of Best Buy Retail Stores and Operations, Geek Squad Services, and Best Buy Business at Best Buy Canada. In this role, he is responsible for the employee and customer experience, sales and profits for over 180 retail stores across Canada as well as the development and fulfilment of Geek Squad programs and services. Mat joined Best Buy in March of 2014 as Vice President of Merchandising responsible for Home Theatre, Audio, Wireless, Digital Imaging, Geek Squad, and was instrumental in the development and execution of the Major Appliances expansion plan in Canada. Since then, he has held numerous leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Geek Squad Services. Mat has a passion for inspiring people and teams, and has a knack for facilitating productive alignment between organizations. Mat's multi-faceted experiences and work including service centric organizations has proven valuable in areas of convergence where he leads the optimization of current capabilities for future state, develops new and innovative partnerships, and integrates services at retail - all of which have helped to enhance Best Buy's Total Retail experience and set foundations for future growth. Prior to Best Buy, Mat was Vice President of Sales for LG Electronics and has also held key positions at Compaq, TELUS & XM Satellite Radio. Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante & Literary Curator for the Latino Bookstore at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center (GCAC) in San Antonio Texas, welcomes professor Dr. Jesús Jesse Esparza, Associate Professor in the Department of History, Geography, and General Studies at Texas Southern University, to discuss his book RAZA SCHOOLS (University of Oklahoma Press, 2023) ahead of his Texas Author Series appearance on November 10th, 2023 at the GCAC's Latino Bookstore. Join us on NP LIve on October 16th, 2023 at 6:30 PM CDT as part of Nuestra Palabra's multi-stream platform broadcast on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. In 1929, a Latino community in the borderlands city of Del Rio, Texas, established the first and perhaps only autonomous Mexican American school district in Texas history. How it did so—against a background of institutional racism, poverty, and segregation—is the story Jesús Jesse Esparza tells in RAZA SCHOOLS, a history of the rise and fall of the San Felipe Independent School District from the end of World War I through the post–civil rights era. Telling the complex story of how territorial pride, race and racism, politics, economic pressures, local control, and the federal government collided in Del Rio, Raza Schools recovers a lost chapter in the history of educational civil rights—and in doing so, offers a more nuanced understanding of race relations, educational politics, and school activism in the US-Mexico borderlands. Dr. Jesús Jesse Esparza is an Associate Professor of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences at Texas Southern University, where he has taught since 2009. His area of expertise is on the history of Latinos in the United States, emphasizing civil rights activism. Dr. Esparza's manuscript, Raza Schools: The Fight for Latino Educational Autonomy in a West Texas Borderlands Town, is scheduled for release in September 2023. The University of Oklahoma Press will publish it as part of the New Directions in Tejano History series. Dr. Esparza teaches Mexican American, Texas, and Civil Rights history. He received his B.A. and a master's degree in History from Southwest Texas State University and a Ph.D. in History in 2008 from the University of Houston. Tony Diaz Writer and activist Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante, is a Cultural Accelerator. He was the first Chicano to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston Creative Writing Program. In 1998, he founded Nuestra Palabra: Latino Writers Having Their Say (NP), Houston's first reading series for Latino authors. The group galvanized Houston's Community Cultural Capital to become a movement for civil rights, education, and representation. When Arizona officials banned Mexican American Studies, Diaz and four veteran members of NP organized the 2012 Librotraficante Caravan to smuggle books from the banned curriculum back into Arizona. He is the author of The Aztec Love God. His book, The Tip of the Pyramid: Cultivating Community Cultural Capital, is the first in his series on Community Organizing. Tony hosts Latino Politics and News and the Nuestra Palabra Radio Show on 90.1 FM, KPFT, Houston's Community Station. Could the Egyptian Sphinx have been built many centuries earlier than conventional history would have us believe? Could the great natural disasters that propelled the evolution of life on Earth have played a dominant role as well in the rise and fall of civilizations? Could Earth have been home to civilizations far greater in number -- and far older -- than orthodox researchers have suspected?  From his geological analysis of the Sphinx,  Dr. Robert M. Schoch  draws a conclusion that he admits is controversial: that a technologically advanced civilization rose and faded in Egypt long before the time of the pyramids. Adding speculative science and drawing on myth, he asserts that other similarly advanced civilizations flourished around the world, only to be obliterated by global catastrophes brought on by a century-long rain of asteroid impacts. Similar cosmic storms strike once a millennium, he says, triggering or ending ice ages, causing floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions of biblical proportion, precipitating shifts in the earths axis.Robert Milton Schoch is an American associate professor of Natural Sciences at the College of General Studies, Boston University. From the Archives: This live interview was recorded on June 19 1999 on the nationally syndicated radio program, hosted by Laura Lee . You feel a welcoming environment."He began taking classes here in 2021. One of his professors, Dr. Eunice Williams, encouraged him to become an active member of the campus community and it transformed his college experience. "I was an older student and I came in with the goal of getting my degree and getting out of here. I didn't really talk to anybody. When she opened the door for me it created opportunity after opportunity for me."Those opportunities included Co-Chair of the Unity Day Committee, a seat on the Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging Council, and the Extraordinary Men of Distinction Advisory Board. He was also a member of the first group of Meg O'Connell Social Justice Scholars, and earned membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.A week from Saturday, at age 38, Turo will receive his General Studies degree, joining his daughter Chayne as college graduates in the family. She earned her degree from OCC in 2022 and is now at SUNY Fredonia, working toward becoming a teacher one day.The elder Turo plans to transfer to Syracuse University where he will major in African American Studies with a minor in Sociology. "I'm excited to be graduating. Before coming here I never had that college experience. I enjoyed that sense of belonging and realizing there was something here that was bigger than yourself."Turo joined us recently for an edition of OCC's podcast, "Chatting About College." Enjoy our conversation!

Today's guest is a dynamic leader and social justice advocate. She is a highly sought-after social justice thought partner recognized for her passion, activism, and unapologetic talk around anti-racist community building and healing.  With a diverse background spanning industries like college administration, media, public relations, government service, television/radio production, and entrepreneurship, her work has touched countless lives - locally, nationally, and internationally in Ghana and South Africa specifically. Melannie is the Creator and Executive Producer of both The People's Gathering: A Revolution of Consciousness Conference and The People's Golf Gathering: Out of Bounds Conversations About Race - both professional development learning experiences that focus participants on anti-racist skill building. In 2018, she was awarded the Greater Tacoma Peace Prize for her lifetime achievements in racial reconciliation. Her documentary about her trip to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, "Peace Queen," won a 2021 National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Northwest Emmy®. Please join me in welcoming Peace Queen-Melannie Denise Cunningham. In this episode, we discuss: her thoughts on leadership: “When I think about leadership, I think about followers. Who wants to follow me? I am thinking about creating possibilities to inspire people to follow me.” Her experiences with leadership while in high school with community building and crossing cultures. Why she's having a blast “making stuff up” as she goes along. How she came to be a founding member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. How she started the first indoor celebration for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's life in Tacoma (and now it's still the most prominent indoor celebration of its kind). Different ways to maximize the use of every single day. How we can all center ourselves and our actions around joy. Her initial goal of being a pediatrician, and when she decided that was not for her, and switching her major to General Studies. Her experience of heading down to the unemployment office and getting hired at General Electric's marketing department (and getting fired from that job for being a few minutes late a few times). How she negotiated herself into being laid off in 1997. She didn't know what path she needed to take, but she knew she was not on it. How she helped open the first McDonald's in South Africa (and the second and third)! The awakening and how she stays focused and determined on anti-racist work. How she repurposed the boxes on the US Census form to gather people and start healing through race and knowledge. The difference between offering a “safe space” vs. a “supportive space.” How working with me as their Zoom Producer has added a relational component to The People's Gathering. Jody Plauche', from Baton Rouge, LA., made national headlines in March of 1984 when he was abducted by his karate teacher, Jeff Doucet. During this awful abduction, Jody was taken 2,000 miles away from his home to Los Angeles, CA. FBI officials were eventually able to rescue Jody and arrest his abductor, Jeff Doucet. After medical exams were performed on Jody, it was determined that he was sexually assaulted by Jeff. After learning this horrible news, Jody's father, Gary Plauche', learned the specifics of when the abductor, Jeff, was going to be brought back to Baton Rouge, LA. Gary strategically placed himself at a bank of payphones and as Jeff and the FBI agents walked by him, he fired a single, shot at point blank range striking Jeff in the head eventually leading to his death the next day. The shooting was captured by WBRZ news crew, a local ABC affiliate. Gary was given a 7-year suspended sentence and was never ordered to serve jail time. To so many, Gary is considered a hero. His son, Jody Plauche', has now written a book titled Why Gary Why? detailing this difficult experience. Despite this life-altering incident, Jody went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree in General Studies from Louisiana State University with minors in Psychology, Speech Communications, and Philosophy.
