The company was established in 2019 and has since expanded their business beyond the US and now in 22+ countries worldwide. Shizu started her entrepreneurial journey in the health & wellness industry eight years ago with her first company, JRINK. On “the side”, she also angel invests in (mostly) female led companies. Pre entrepreneurship, she was a former investment banker at Goldman Sachs and The World Bank Group's private equity division, IFC Asset Management Company. Shizu graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2010 as a Leslie Wong Fellow with a Bachelors of Commerce in Finance. In this episode of the podcast I speak with two successful entrepreneurs about how they make it work. Like for real for real. From starting with no plan and making that leap to scaling and structuring your time properly. My guests talk through their fears, beliefs and their futures to inspire you to do the same. Growing up, founder Jacqueline Carrington, never saw images of nail polish colors reflected on brown skin tones, which made her skip nail polish all together growing up. It wasn't until her 3-year old daughter Monroe, at the time, started coming back from visits with her GiGi (grandma) with her nails painted, that Jacqueline had a newfound interest. She founded People of Color Beauty just two years ago and has already grown the business into nail salons and retail stores not to mention being featured in high profile media spotlighting her work. Bianca Beasley is an entrepreneur, small business owner, speaker, full time mom and wife. Bianca's business resume includes multiple business ventures. Paint and Jrink, a local art studio located in New Orleans. All Things Peace, all natural goods boutique and online.
