I don't know about you, but, personally, I want to hear from people going up from the mountain instead of from people bragging about their summit. That's why, in today's episode, I'm hanging with my dear friend (and business leader, coach, and podcaster) Jacqueline Martinez to talk about lessons from the mountain or, to be precise, the lessons we're learning as we climb our mountains (i.e. face the challenges of life). We cover: - Where we are on our own personal mountains and why we want to talk with you about them - Why it's okay to take a conscious step back from doing the inner work - What we're focused on right now and why we think will matters to you - The stronghold sadness had in my life and what I'm doing to heal it - Steps Jacqueline is taking to maneuver through her new life chapter and why - The importance of community while doing the innerwork To learn more about 1:1 coaching, sign up for a free discovery call now. Through conversation and story, we examine what really has to change to go from where you are to where you want to be. About Erica Ballard Erica is a woman who thought pinstripe suits, a size 4 body, and a corner office were the markings of success. But, after chasing those things, Erica realized that none of that stuff would make her happy (like, really happy). Because, as it turns out, her version of success looked much different than what she was conditioned to believe it should look like. After accepting that truth and honoring her own, Erica now lives a life she loves and is on a mission to help other women do the same through life coaching, women-focused workshops, and social media. We had the pleasure of hosting Dave Lomas, Pastor of Reality San Fransisco, who talked to us about the lessons we can learn from the mountain.
I recently completed the 29029 Everesting event, an ultra-endurance event in which participants climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest in 36 hours. This was the most challenging physical event I've ever participated in and I learned lots of mental and emotional lessons along the way. In this episode of the podcast, I'm breaking down my experience of the 29029 event on Whistler mountain and sharing all the things that I learned about myself, about my brain, and about our ability to achieve so much more than we think we're capable of. No matter what challenge you are currently working on, the lessons I learned will help you see yourself and your experience differently, and strengthen your ability to endure, overcome, and eventually, triumph! https://www.aprilpricecoaching.com/blog/29029-lessons-from-the-mountain If you want to watch a video that gives you a glimpse of the incredible 29029 event you can go here: https://youtu.be/JZ3S2OxPu8U
Mark 9:2-29 | Dave Lomas
I've finished a weekend of hiking a mountain for 35 hours. In this episode I want to share everything I have learned and how much of what I learned relates to everyday life. People said many times that I was brave to make this event so public, what if I didn't complete it and I would have to face everyone and say I failed? Here's the thing, this event meant a lot to me. I had no doubt I could do it because of my mindset and training….but, I also did a lot of work on getting ready for disappointment. This is something we have to experience in life. We can't avoid it. I would have been upset if I hadn't completed it, but I had no issue in telling everyone I ‘FAILED' as to me failure isn't a bad thing. I would have done everything I could and not achieving things in life is O.K. This even meant a lot, in the grand scheme of things I was only climbing a mountain. I kept telling myself this a lot, I am just climbing a mountain. Not to belittle what we are doing, as what we do means a lot to us but in the grand scheme of life all we are doing is: Having an exhibition Selling a piece of art in exchange for money Making art Climbing a mountain The next time you get overwhelmed by a task you are completing, tell yourself ‘ I am only doing XYZ' - see if it works. Grab a cuppa and enjoy this episode where I share all my lessons from the mountain.

Join us this morning as pastor CJ shares part 1 of a 2 part series called: Lessons from a Roller Coaster Life. Key Scripture: Mark 9:2-27
The Transfiguration was a watershed event in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. It's lessons can provide a turning point in our lives. Verse(s) Covered in Sermon Matthew 17:1-8
This mountain warfare instructor accepts no excuses; just learn and do. He speaks with the same force of confidence that he hopes to instill in others. First growing up gaining woodsman skills in Maine and then later through a 36 year tenure in the military, Smith always sought and found strong role models from who to learn. That learning soon transitioned into leadership and mentoring. His methods are deceptively simple, but are you strong enough to see them through? Lessons: 1. In order to see yourself in new ways you need to change your exposure. 2. Give one tool at a time; don’t overwhelm them with the whole kit. 3. Do the job; do your best; pay attention. Join us as we discuss the first ever A&Y Expedition to Pike's Peak and what we learned from each other and about ourselves.
Mark ch. 9 allows us an eyewitness account of a mountain top experience Jesus has with some of his early followers. It's known as the 'transfiguration' - which is a fancy name to communicate that Jesus reveals more of who He really is to them. There are some lessons here for us. Life is only lived in one direction - forward. God moments are just that, moments. Enjoy them, but keep following Jesus forward in life. Pray for them (see Ephesians 1:17).

In films, he was in Dickie Roberts, First Daughter, Zodiac and Adam Sandler’s hit: You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.
