You all know the story by now. Formed in 1997, megastars by 2000, whatever-happened-tos by 2004, has-beens by 2006, comeback kids by 2016 - and, finally, comeback kids again in 2020. Of course, those are just the touchstones - in truth, there's way more to The Avalanches' story than you might expect. It starts in a fruit shop, it heads up to country Victoria, through to the suburban sharehouses of Melbourne and onto a festival stage in Barcelona. Keyboardist, producer and founding member Tony Di Blasi has seen it all - and he's ready to get into the gory details of how The Avalanches went to hell and back to secure their status as all-time greats. Join us for another week in the impossible uphill battle that is getting Nick Carr’s career back on track. Riding shotgun this week is Tommy Dassalo, Melbourne-based comedian, and one half of The Little Dum Dum Club podcast. This week Carr has pulled in rough fresh from a covid-safe wedding, Jake makes some more audio errors, and Tommy unloads on both of the boys. We also set our wildest challenge to date, truly one for the ages – stay tuned. The post 21 – Tommy Dassalo appeared first on Good Chat Comedy Club. This week we kick things up a notch, with guest Karl Chandler taking control at the scene of the accident. Carr first got his big break at the infamous Koh Samui International Podcast Festival, so it’s only fitting he hears some hard truths from one half of The Little Dum Dum Club. The gloves are well and truly off this week, and it’s clear that Carr is going to have to put in the hard yards leading up to Festival Season 2021. This week I'm joined by famous podcast guest & essentially unknown comedian, Nick Carr. Recognisable as the whipping boy on The Little Dum Dum Club with Tommy Dassalo and Karl Chandler, Nick joins me on my real podcast to have a real discussion about real issues (his words), those being the teen sex comedies of the late 90s and early 2000s, specifically Sorority Boys, American Pie, and Road Trip. We blame basically all of our personality flaws on these films and basically, we're perfect humans now. I think this is a good episode but who can ever be sure?

Comic Tommy Dassalo is best known for being one half of the Little Dum Dum Club, and Dave reckons Tommy and his podcast partner Karl Chandler are ripe for a Martin/Molloy style bust up. I chatted with Karl Chandler who is a Melbourne based comic and writer for various television shows in Australia. He also runs some great comedy nights in Melbourne and I wanted to chat to him about the stress of being the comedian and the booker. We also chatted about his new show where he gets a comedian to heckle him throughout the show. We finished with a great chat about podcasting as he has a successful podcast called the Little Dum Dum Club. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Melbourne comedian Tommy Dassalo was one of our first guests, and his initial appearance was so good that we invited him to be a part of our live episode immediately, then said his name in every episode since. The host of two fine podcasts (The Little Dum Dum Club and Filthy Casuals), Tommy's the kind of quick witted, informed individual who inspires others to bring their A-game whenever they hit record. We were excited to have Tommy back on as a guest. So excited that we all got drunk and didn't hit record until after midnight on the Sunday before a public holiday. We don't really talk about movies, TV or video games much - but Angus reads out a letter to Coca-Cola and reveals that he's starting a fashion line - and that he and Tommy have written an entire album about Tommy being an egg. Tommy has an allergic reaction to Angus' cat and spends half the episode wiping tears from his eyes, and Levins doesn't remember one second of recording this episode - which also happens to be the greatest episode of Hey Fam so far. That's amore. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
