Bir hadis-i şerifte Allâh Resulü (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurmaktadır: “Allâh'ı zikretme dışında çok konuşmayın. Çünkü Allâh'ı zikir dışında çok konuşmak kalple-ri katılaştırır. Allâh'ın rahmetinden en uzak olan şey katı kalptir.” Başka bir hadis-i şerifte ise: “Kim bana iki çenesi arasındaki dilini ve iffetini koruma sözü verirse, ben de ona cennet sözü veririm, ona kefil olurum.” Dil hem ibadetlerin hem de günâhların köküdür. Dil düzelirse tüm organlar düzelir, dil âsî olursa tüm organlar onu takip eder. Bir hadiste konuyla ilgili şu ifadeler geçer: “Âde-moğlu sabahlayınca onun tüm organları diline şöyle der: Hakkımızda Allâh'tan kork. Çünkü biz sana tabiyiz. Sen doğru olursan hepimiz kurtuluruz. Sende eğrilik oluşursa biz de öyle oluruz.” Bir diğer rivayete göre ise Allâh Resulü (s.a.v.) şöyle demiştir: “Kıyamet gününde en çok konuşan, en büyük günâh-kâr olarak Allâh'ın huzuruna çıkar.”Hz. Ali (r.a.)'den şöyle rivayet edilmiştir: “Susmak, insanı cennete götürür.” Allâh Resulü (s.a.v.) konuyla ilgili Taberânî'den na-kille şöyle rivayet etmiştir: “Âdemoğlunun günâhlarının çoğu diliyle gerçekleşir.”Dilin vereceği sıkıntılardan kurtulmanın tek bir ilacı vardır ki o da susmayı öğrenmektir. Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz “Kim susarsa kurtulur” (Tirmizî) buyurmaktadır. Ümmetine bunu öğretmek için kendisi de çok konuşmak-tan uzak dururdu.(Misvâk Neşriyat, Eşref Ali et-Tehanevî, Tehzibu'l Ahlâk, s.71)

Hi Stef, I've been wondering: If love is an "involuntary response to virtue," how can a parent love an infant? Can't animals display virtues, at least in a rudimentary fashion, as much as babies? ThanksI believe that individualism vs collectivism is the issue beneath all issues and that adopting a “content of character” mindset rather that a “judge by immutable characteristics” mindset, is the only peaceful and prosperous path forward for humanity. Most people are decent, and if we separated the world by decent people vs assholes there would be a lot less incentive to be assholes. Thoughts?Does philosophy come more naturally to honest people who are naturally attuned to the truth?Is it moral for a man to give his son a leg-up?- a good home with a loving mother- a virtuous example- a free college education- help with a home or business?Or is that unfair to another child from a poor and broken home?Can UPB define truth?i.e. it's the interpretation that could be useful to everyone.Do we have a moral duty to fight evil and pursue virtue?Are humans LLMs, with an extra mechanism on top ?Where does philosophy end and religion begin?What is more destructive: greed or jealousy
