Have you ever noticed how easily we remember the traumatizing events in our lives, big and small? We never forget! We all have trauma, even those of us who think we don’t, are impacted by it in daily life more than you realize. They’re called core memories that cling to us, spring up without warning, they frame how we see life. These memories can breed bitterness, strain relationships, & foster a mindset of victimhood & entitlement. Have you experienced how easily these memories distract you from following Jesus or remembering the Word of God? It can almost seem like trauma is specifically designed to keep us from remembering mercy and redemption! But when it comes to remembering what God has done for us, it seems that requires more effort & discipline. We must have frequent, regular remembrance of the powerful moments God has displayed His sovereign grace to us. Remembering His goodness a vital part of both our obedience & our transformation.

Last week was a hard sermon, as James taught us to look within ourselves for the cause of fights within the church. Our selfish, individualistic, arrogant pursuit of our own desires & passions put us at odds with each other, and with God. It was a tough message, but James provided a beautiful, soft landing, reminding us that God gives MORE GRACE! Have you ever experienced the joy, the liberation that comes when God answers our humble prayers for more grace? It’s something the unredeemed can’t understand; joy (supernatural satisfaction) flowing from our humble repentance. Because genuine, humble repentance at cross, is the only place where that harvest of righteousness can begin. Many people seek that experiential bliss with God, those moments where his presence is unmistakable. Scripture teaches nothing brings us closer to God than when we draw near to Him in humility to pray for more grace! In fact, humble repentance provides more intimacy w/God & is more powerful than anything else in a Christian’s life. Humble repentance brings us closer to God than any earthly blessing, worship song, or spiritual experience. That’s why understanding what true humility & repentance looks like is an important test of our ropes of faith. In fact, the most powerful repentance isn’t personal induvial repentance, but corporate, community repentance. (James 4:6-10) But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hangs, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning & your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will exalt you.
Who does Jesus invite to sit with Him?We all struggle with who we are comfortable with and who we are not. Who has sins that we tolerate and sins that we recoil from. But, what do the meals of Jesus tell us about His heart towards the outside? Jerell explains how Jesus' eating habits can inform our compassion.

My prayer today is that every one of us see Jesus with a fresh, clear perspective, as we gather around His table.
As humans, we are prone to forget the goodness of our Lord, especially in the hustle and bustle of daily life. The reality is that we all need reminders of God's faithfulness to keep our faith anchored and our hearts filled with gratitude. Luckily, God knows this about us and has given us various ways to experience His presence and build monuments of remembrance. One remarkable example of this is the story of Joshua and his use of stones to build a physical monument of God's faithfulness. Beyond that, God has also given us the gift of living stones, His people, to be a testament to His grace and love. As we continue on in our journey of faith, it is crucial to teach and share with future generations the stories of God's faithfulness, so that they too may experience His unforgettable presence in their lives.
In Luke's gospel, Jesus is constantly interacting with those the text refers to as "tax collectors and sinners". Many of those times, Jesus is seated at a table, eating with them. In this episode, Spencer and Jack look at the institution of the Lords Supper in Luke's gospel narrative and connect the theme of Jesus eating with sinners to Jesus' eating with Judas. 1 Corinthians 10:17 For we being many are one bread ( Unity ) we are all partakers of that one bread ( Jesus, the bread of life ) Do not be partakers of the demons table ( World and it's offering ) u cannot be standing on two boats because now you are a child of God. Be a true witness in Church and in the world.

MATTHEW 26:14–29
The sacredness of the communion table and its tremendous power were ingrained into me early in life. I must have been about ten or eleven years old. The elements were prepared by people who had seeded their lives to God and His service. If the sacredness of the communion could be described from a little girl's perspective, it would read; thus, The Reverend Fathers and Sisters always wore white. They barely spoke any word anytime they were on duty. Everywhere was quiet; you could hear a pin drop, and even the air aligned with the ambience. Everything was still a testament to their holiness and proof of the presence of God. This scenario always filled me with awe. They even sang songs, and with such sonorous voices, it felt like heaven was visiting the sons of men. Someone had told me before that if anyone was not clean, at that moment, they could die as God was too pure to set eyes on any filthiness. So, I was also in fear but not the bad kind. I made sure to confess and do away with my sins before I came to church, so I knew I was ok. When the priests got finished with their preparation, they would gingerly walk down to the base of the altar where the communicants were kneeling and waiting to partake of the body and blood of Christ. All these helped me conclude that I needed to respect the sacredness of the table. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/arnajadi/message

Ephesians 1:3-7,NLT- All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.4, Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.5, God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.6, So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.7, He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. Jesus alone, through His sacrifice, by His grace makes us accepted in God's family. This is why Paul could boldly say, “Its only by the grace of God that I am what I am.” So today, as we gather around the Lord's table, get this reality settled in your thinking; we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. We are chosen by Him to be holy before Him. To the praise of His grace. At the end of the day, when it comes to God's grace and goodness, the question we've all got to answer is; just exactly how much of what God tells us do we honestly believe? Seriously, if God, our Father tells us we're forgiven, blessed, prosperous, favored, healed, why wouldn't we accept what He says as truth? Why shouldn't we believe, do and say what my Father tells us? Whether you've walked with Jesus most of your life, or you're just starting your journey,Because of human nature, because we have an enemy, there will be times when we question the things of God's unseen kingdom. Remember, we belong to two worlds. The choice of which one we live out of is ours. I've set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, you choose. Romans 8:5-6,NKJV- For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. And it's in these times that we can come to the Lord's table, free of all sin, made completely righteous by His sacrifice, that sometimes is the reminder we need. I probably say this every time we take communion, but let's be real, we all need reminded, encouraged about what Jesus did for us. To set our mind on spiritual things. This is Paul's point in Ephesians, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Communion is one of the most spiritual things we get to do It's a divinely inspired place of revelation from the Father. Allowing us to see that Jesus alone made us worthy to stand in His presence. He made us heirs to the Kingdom through His sacrifice. May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened, that we can embrace the hope of His calling, so that we can walk in the riches of His glory, that we function in the exceeding greatness of His power. You see, some of the most spiritual clarity and revelation is around the Lords table. Starting with, Jesus said, this bread is his body broken for us. The cup is his blood shed for us. John 6:51,NKJV- “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever...” John 10:10,(paraphrase), I came from Heaven to give you a rich and satisfying life. A better life than you've ever dreamed of. A life to enjoy in abundance, to the full, till it overflows. Today as we worship Him at His table, according to Hebrews, when we come to the Lord, we have to come to Him in faith. In the faith that it's only because of Jesus, only by His grace that any of us are able to stand in His presence. To have the privilege of being able to commune with our Creator. Communion isn't just acknowledging Jesus' sacrifice, it's embracing and reverencing the fact that Jesus actually restored us to our rightful place with God. Today as we honor and reverence our King's sacrifice, let His Spirit minister to you, embrace what Jesus did, what He said, embrace who you are because of Him. Ephesians 2:4-6,NKJV- God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. This is why having moments like this, around the Lord's table allow us the privilege of drawing closer to Him. Of seeing clearer, who we are in Him. Remember, Jesus has already made us alive together with Him and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Him. And even though we belong to two worlds, because of Jesus, while still in this world, we're no longer of it. Understand, we're not just citizens of Heaven, we're heirs to the Kingdom, appointed ambassadors of our King, assigned here to establish the very same dominion our Father started everything with in Adam. And is now in Jesus. Truth is, our biggest battle isn't really the devil, or other people, it's our refusal to embrace a life beyond our humanity. This is why I love to make communion a special time, I truly believe communion allows us the privilege of coming boldly into His presence. Acknowledging and embracing exactly what Jesus did for us. Ephesians 2:10,AMP- For we are His workmanship, His own master work,a work of art created in Christ Jesus, reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used for good works, which God prepared for us beforehand, taking paths which He set, so that we would walk in them, living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us. And there is no better place to be reminded, no better place for fresh perspective, no better place to draw closer to Jesus than around the Lord's table. Let today's communion remind you that you are righteous in God's sight by Jesus' sacrifice. You are a brand new creation in Christ. Here's the thing, until the born-again actually embrace the realities of our new nature, God's grace and everything about His world will stay a mystery. 2 Peter 1:2-4,NKJV- Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,as His divine power HAS GIVEN TO US ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,by which HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO US exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature. One of the most incredible realities about God's grace, about His divine power is that it's 100% based on His word and His character, not our conduct. And the blessed assurance every believer has today is that regardless of what we might face, Ephesians makes it very clear, we are in Christ and He is in us. And I love how the apostle Paul provides simplicity and clarity to our new lives in Christ; anyone united with Christ gets a fresh start, a new creation. The old life is gone; a new life is underway. All because God settled the relationship between us and Him. Communion reminds us not only of what Jesus saved us from, but what He saved is to. Think about it, we're going to Heaven, the place of no more pain, suffering, crying, and death. Communion stands as a memorial of an empty cross and an abandoned grave. Communion takes each of us back to when His incredible gift of grace changed our lives forever. Today as we gather around the Lord's table, embracing His amazing grace, we give Him a glory and honor, proclaiming His resurrection until He returns. Communion stands as our eternal memorial of God's amazing grace. Maybe this is why God told the apostle Paul, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." You see, this is one of the most awesome things grace does, it transforms us into the new person He's already created us to be. And through faith, we believe it, we accept it and experience it. Yielding to this kind of undeserving love and power is what enables every believer to rise above their old nature. Peter says it like this out of the Message, What a God we have... Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! Remember, communion is 100% spiritual. It's a divinely inspired place of revelation from the Father.Boldly proclaiming Jesus alone made us worthy to stand in His presence. He made us heirs to the Kingdom through His sacrifice. May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened, that we can embrace the hope of His calling, so that we can walk in the riches of His glory, that we function in the exceeding greatness of His power. 1 Corinthians 11:26,NKJV- For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.

The Lords Table | Mark Hopkins
Sermon Podcast on 1st Corinthians 11:17-34, Pastor John Moropoulos at Gateway Christian Fellowship message on 1st Corinthians 11:17-34 on Sunday, September 18th, 2021.
There's no better way to leave whatever's harassing, tormenting, manipulating you, there's no better place for restoration and healing than gathering around the Lord's table, and walking away with a renewed mindset, renewed trust in Jesus. 1 Peter 5:7,AMP- Casting all your cares, all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares about you with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully. This is why our faith is absolutely vital, anyone who comes to God must believe… Believe He is a burden removing, bondage destroying, barrier braking God. The God of peace that passes understanding. So today, come to the Lord's table with a divine expectation. And let these words from Jesus settle into your thinking. John 14:1,NKJV- Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. v.27, Jesus repeats His point, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Seriously, if the Almighty, my Heavenly Father tells me to not let my heart be troubled… If He tells me I'm victorious, forgiven, blessed, prosperous, favored, healed, why wouldn't I accept what He says as truth? 1 Corinthians 15:57,AMP- Thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory making us conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans tells us we are more than conquerors. Then Paul tells us to imitate him like he imitates Christ. Say what he says, do what he does. Think about it, why shouldn't I say what my Father says about me?After all, Jesus told us, rivers of living water will flow from our born again nature. Psalm 34, How blessed, fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God is the man who takes refuge in Him. Unfortunately, human nature has made it very clear that as long as we can live without more of God, we will. Whether you've walked with Jesus most of your life, or you're just starting your journey, Because of human nature, because we have an enemy, there will be times when we question God, our relationship with Him, His promises, our failures, things we don't understand, etc... And it's in those times that being able to come to the Lord's table, free of all sin, made completely righteous by His sacrifice, can be an absolute life changer for us. The reason I talk about communion before we take it is because we all need reminded from time to time that communion is this divinely inspired place of revelation from the Father. It allows us the opportunity to acknowledge that Jesus alone made us worthy to stand in His presence. He's counting on us embracing the fact that He made us heirs to the Kingdom through what He suffered. Today as we gather around the Lords table, let the Holy Spirit help you see His crucifixion, His sacrifice as so much more than just our passage to Heaven. May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened, that we can embrace the hope of His calling, so that we can walk in the exceeding greatness of His power. John 6:51,NKJV- “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever...” Earlier in this same gospel Jesus told us, the Father is looking for those who will come to Him with the recognition of who He is. With a humble attitude of worship. Those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. The Samaritan women is a beautiful picture of God's divine love, destroying racial agenda, reaching past moral failure to extend His true nature. While we're here, something else Jesus constantly brought to light was the destructive nature of religious tradition. John 4:10,NKJV- Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” v.14,NKJV-“but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” Here's the thing we've got to keep out in front of us as we follow Jesus. He said, “I only do the will of My Father who sent Me.” John 10:10,(paraphrase), I came from Heaven to give you a rich and satisfying life. A better life than you've ever dreamed of. A life to enjoy in abundance, to the full, till it overflows. Communion isn't just acknowledging Jesus' sacrifice, it's embracing and reverencing the fact that Jesus actually restored us to our rightful place with God. Today as we honor and reverence our King's sacrifice, let His Spirit minister to you, embrace what Jesus did, what He said, and embrace who you are because of Him. This is why having moments like this, around the Lord's table allow us the privilege of drawing closer to Him. Something very important to remember is that communion is something a Christian can practice anytime you feel led to. Remember, Jesus has already made us alive together with Him and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Him. Understand, we're not just citizens of Heaven, we're heirs to the Kingdom, appointed ambassadors of our King, assigned here to establish His kingdom. And there is no better place to be reminded, no better place for fresh perspective, no better place to draw closer to Jesus than around the Lord's table. I tell you this all the time, communion is one of the most spiritual things the born-again can take part in. In Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Corinthians we receive the very same revelation from Jesus concerning communion. The bread is His broken body and the cup is the blood of His new covenant. Regardless of what you may be facing, let today's communion encourage you that you are made whole by His broken body and shed blood. They are still declaring, "It is finished." As we worship Jesus today with communion, as we draw closer to Him, may our spirits see Jesus and all that He accomplished for us clearer than ever before. My prayer today is that everyone of us see Jesus with a fresh perspective as we partake of the cup and the bread. 1 Corinthians 10:16,NLT- When we bless the cup at the Lord's Table, aren't we sharing in the blood of Christ? And when we break the bread, aren't we sharing in the body of Christ? Let today's talk remind all of us of His supreme sacrifice. Let todays communion helps us discern in a little more depth the fear of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 11:30,NKJV- For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.v.29, For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. By faith, acknowledge Jesus' body being broken so that yours can be whole. Matthew 8:16-17,NLT- That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and He healed all the sick. This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases. Today, let's come to the Lord's table with a fresh understanding that Jesus' broken body and shed blood provide deliverance for us, spirit, soul, and body. 1 Thessalonians 5:23,MSG- May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master. When Jesus told us in John that He came to gives us live, He literally meant, wholeness to our spirit, soul, and body. Let today's communion help you see Jesus with a fresh perspective as we partake of the cup and the bread.
