Jerell shares with us some insights into this important issue.

What is the culture you live in?We live in Eugene, which means that we are influenced by a variety of cultural characteristics. Even more, the people we live around and work with are further formed by what it means to live here. Jerell offers us some useful things to do to become more informed by what it means to live in Eugene and engage meaningfully with other Eugenians.
How do you engage with your neighborhood?God has put each of us in a place and time with people around us. This mundane fact can sometimes go underappreciated. To help with that, Jerell offers us some activities that can help us connect with those who live closest to us.
How can we strive with, rather than against, what God is doing in our lives? It can be easy to reduce our spirituality to a Sunday gathering and maybe cracking open the Bible once a week. But, is this what God has in mind for our flourishing? Jerell shares some disciplines we can incorporate into our lives that can partner with the work of the Spirit.
How can we more show up with more intentionality on with our church?Sunday can be a mad dash, sometimes even getting to church feels like an overwhelming challenge. Jerell shares some intentional choices we can make to shift our perspective and be more engaged with our family in Christ.
What disciplines can you have in your personal life? One of the great challenges in life is to become inoculated to the current we are in. Life is busy, stressful, hard. We entertain ourselves, try to survive, or work long hours. However, Jerell brings several disciplines that can help us create margin for what God is doing in our lives.
Does your work matter? It can often be tempting to view the mundane parts of our life as unsanctified work. We do it because we have to eat. However, Jerell shares how Christ's redemption also redeems the work we do now.
What are you doing this summer?Typically, the summertime is a busy one (which season isn't?). But, is it busy with the right things? Jerell shares a summer initiative that will be launching this summer for the men of UFC. Don't miss out!
What challenges do a churches experience based on its size?No matter what size your church is, it's going to come with some strengths and some weaknesses. Jerell discusses the nature of the problem and how to overcome some of our unique challenges.
Does God like you?Sometimes we can conclude that God loves us (committed) but not always believe that He likes us (affections). Jerell talks about this dichotomy and how it doesn't align with a biblical account of God's attitude towards His children.

What responsibility does the Christian have to the orphan? Some issues seem too big to even approach, yet some of those same issues are clearly addressed in Scripture. Jerell discuss a new effort to care for the orphan with the assistance of Every Child in Eugene.
What would you do the day after Jesus died? The Men's Breakfast series on Holy Week is coming to a close. The final lesson can be found in the two women who were faced with the death of Jesus. Jerell helps us consider what we do in the face of suffering as this portion of the story concludes.
Who does Jesus invite to sit with Him?We all struggle with who we are comfortable with and who we are not. Who has sins that we tolerate and sins that we recoil from. But, what do the meals of Jesus tell us about His heart towards the outside? Jerell explains how Jesus' eating habits can inform our compassion.
Are we double-minded in our worship of God?Sometimes the things we find ourselves doing aren't cohesive to inviting others into encountering the Living God. Jerell examines Jesus' words as He cleanses the temple of the money changers and shops.
What was with the palm leaves?Jesus' last days before His death a filled with significant moments that sometimes get overlooked. Jerell shares with us how understanding some of the historical context behind Jesus' arrival during Passover bring color and richness to the biblical event.
Who were the Essenes? As a matter of fact, who were the Pharisees and Sadducees, or the Zealots? The life and ministry of Christ saw Him cross paths with several different groups, but have you stopped to consider who they were? Jerell helps shed some light on these groups, what their motives were, and offer us insight into the conflicts that Jesus had with them.
What happened between the Old Testament and the time of Jesus in the New? How we understand the history and context of a place and time is often a helpful, if not essential, piece of understanding the Bible. Jerell helps us understand the backdrop of Jesus' ministry, what the Jewish people would've thought and understood, and how we can benefit from the context.
What do those two things have in common? Well, you'll just have to find out. Jerell shares from Jesus' teaching on salt and light while challenging two ways we might fall short of God's purpose as we go about life.
Where there are differences, there has to be understanding and forgiveness. The world is made up of a lot of different types of people and so is the church. To be able to deepen our relationships there has to be an attitude of humility and forgiveness so our differences strengthen rather than weaken our connection. Jerell shares how these two go hand in hand.
How do you show up?Have you ever stopped and reflect on the type of person you're trying to be? Maybe more importantly, have you asked why you're showing up that way with others? Jerell shares how true authenticity doesn't actually come from within and it has a serious impact on those around us.
What are you doing Sunday? With sports, activities, sleeping in, there's no shortage of alternatives to attending church. That's not even to mention the introduction of virtual attendance or just listening to the sermon later. Jerell examines what Scripture says on the matter and discusses some of the philosophies at work in this issue.

How ought believers deal with conflict?Division among the body of Christ, the family of God, is of utmost importance to God as seen by the biblical authors. How many people do we really need? This is a questions considered as we evaluate what Christian community is. Jerell shares from his life how relationships have been an integral part of his Christian experience, but also discusses some of the limitations in relationships.
What's Acts all about?Acts is the account of the birth of the church as a result of the victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Jerell helps us get a handle on the first half of the book by tracing three themes of the early Christian accounts.
Should the church look like it did in the first century?Chances are good that when you read Scripture, sometimes you encounter a situation where you wonder if what you're reading applies to you or not. We are making interpretive decisions every time we read the Bible, so Jerell helps us understand some of the considerations and implications of how we approach Scripture.
When in Rome!Well, how much of our culture should we adopt in order to be all things to all men? Jerell explores the principles Paul shares about contextualizing the Gospel.
How do you deal with suffering?Sometimes, the Christian worldview doesn't always equip us for suffering. We don't leave room for it in our theology. However, suffering is a part of life that has a place and purpose that God uses for His glory and our good. Jerell explores suffering for the believer.
