Christians ofevery age have had to contend with the danger of ungodly unbelieversinfiltrating and affecting the Christian community. Jude mixes togetherreassuring theological affirmations of God's love and power with pointedlypoetic attacks on ungodliness and wise practical instructions regarding whatbelievers are to do when they find themselves in such situations. Jim SamraThe Purpose of JudeJude wants his readers to understand who his opponents are, the ecologicaljudgment toward which they are moving, and, by implication, what willhappen to Christians who fall prey to their deceptions. He also gives hisreaders a threefold strategy for coping with the false teachers in the present.• Build yourself up in the most holy faith (v.20a).• Pray in the Holy Spirit (v.20b)• Keep yourself in God's love (v. 21a) Jude builds the strategy on the hope that not only can his readers avoidfalling prey to the false teaching, but that they can rescue other—includingthe false teachers themselves—who are already in its grasp. Frank ThielmanUPG FOCUS: The Yao in Malawi The Yao are a large people group in southeastern Africa, primarily living in Malawi, where most are subsistence farmers and fishermen. Though they identify as Muslim, many blend Islamic practices with traditional spiritual beliefs, creating strong spiritual barriers to the gospel. Despite having Scripture and some outreach efforts, very few follow Christ and the community remains resistant. Pray for those barriers to be broken, for the Word of God to take root, and for a growing movement of believers among the Yao.FinancesWeekly Budget 34,615Giving For 05/24 29,133Giving For 05/31 19,095YTD Budget 1,661,538Giving 1,930,553 OVER/(UNDER) 269,015Fellowship 101We invite you to join us on Sunday, June 14, at 9:00 a.m. to learn more about Fellowship. In Jude's closing benediction, we're given one of the most stabilizing promises in all of Scripture: God is able to keep you from stumbling (Jude 1:24). In this episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains why saving faith is not only God's gift—but also God's sustaining work. You are not kept by fear-driven performance; you are kept by Christ's faithful power. Dr. Youssef brings this promise to life through the imagery behind Jude's words: Jewish wedding traditions. In betrothal, the groom would seal the commitment with a costly dowry—then return home to prepare a place—then come again for his bride with joyful announcement. In the same way, Jesus—our Bridegroom—paid the highest price with His own blood, returned to the Father to prepare a place, and will come again. And when He does, He will present His redeemed bride without blemish or stain, declaring what His cross and resurrection accomplished. This devotional strengthens believers living in dark seasons of apostasy and pressure: keep your eyes on the future Christ secured. When you feel weak, unstable, or tempted to spiral into “trying harder,” remember the Truth—Jesus is holding you up. He will keep you from falling. Prayer: Father, help me to rest in the Truth that You will never let me go. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “[T]o the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen” (Jude 1:25). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Jude knew that deceivers don't merely confuse ideas—they lure believers toward ungodliness and weaken the Church's witness. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef walks through Jude's practical, battle-tested blueprint for standing firm when false teaching pressures the people of God. First: Know the Word. Jude warns that false teachers twist Scripture and “do not have the Spirit” (Jude 1:19). The antidote is biblical discernment: when you know God's Word deeply, distortion becomes obvious. Second: Insulate your soul. Jude calls believers to “build yourselves up” in the faith and to “pray in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 1:20)—praying as the Spirit leads and obeying His promptings. That Spirit-led prayer life strengthens you from within. Third: Stay close to the Father. Jude says this lifestyle keeps you “in God's love” (Jude 1:21). Dr. Youssef connects this to the prodigal son: the Father's love never changed, but the son only experienced its warmth when he returned home. Staying near God keeps you from becoming an easy target. Finally: Be involved with people. Jude calls us to mercy toward doubters (Jude 1:22) while remaining wise and firm against deceivers—speaking truth in love with both conviction and compassion. This devotional equips you to protect the flock, extend grace to the lost, and resist error without losing a heart for sinners. Prayer: Lord, may I proclaim the hope of Christ to the lost and call false teachers to repentance, pushing back against their deception for the strengthening of the Church. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Keep yourself in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life” (Jude 1:21). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, and Beau Morgan continue to talk about some goals they would like to see the Atlanta Falcons defense hit this season, talk about how many rushing yards per game the Falcons defense should be giving up this season to be legit postseason contenders, and explain why they think the Falcons must improve their run defense and give up about 10 less rushing yards per game if they want to have a legit chance at being a playoff team.
Scripture is unmistakably clear: Jesus will return in glory to judge the nations, separating those who received Him from those who rejected Him (Matthew 25:31–32). Yet false teachers deny or dilute this reality, replacing repentance and holiness with a softened message that cannot save. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef unpacks Jude's urgent imagery for apostate teachers—portraits designed to help believers recognize danger before spiritual shipwreck occurs: “Hidden reefs” at your love feasts (Jude 1:12): beneath-the-surface threats that damage the church while “feeding only themselves.” “Clouds without rain” (v. 12): loud, trend-driven voices that promise refreshment but deliver only disappointment. “Autumn trees… without fruit and uprooted” (v. 12): spiritually barren leaders who leave others malnourished and are ultimately “twice dead.” “Wild waves” and “wandering stars” (vv. 13): chaotic influences that produce wreckage and provide no true direction—drifting farther from biblical Truth. Jude then lifts our eyes to the certainty apostates try to erase: the Lord is coming with holy ones to judge everyone (Jude 1:14–15). For the unrepentant, that day will bring terror. But for believers who long for His appearing, it will be a day of joy—when we see the signs of His return and “lift up [our] heads” with expectation (Luke 21:28). Prayer: Lord, may I pursue Your Truth revealed in Your Word with confidence and joyfully prepare for the day of Your return. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever” (Jude 1:13). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Jude understood the wreckage false teachers can leave behind: polluted witness, weakened biblical authority, and a “cult of personality” that distracts from following Christ. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef unpacks Jude's strong language—calling these apostates “dreamers” who crave their own glory while denying the true Gospel (Jude 1:8). Because they often appear spiritual on the outside, Jude gives believers three vivid clues—each rooted in a familiar Old Testament story: The way of Cain (Jude 1:11; Genesis 4): choosing self-made religion over God's revealed way—twisting worship into self-expression and resisting repentance. Balaam's error (Jude 1:11; Numbers 22–24): using spiritual influence for profit, following feelings instead of Truth, and harming God's people through compromise. Korah's rebellion (Jude 1:11; Numbers 16): ego-driven leadership that refuses God's appointed authority and turns ministry into a power grab—destructive and doomed. Dr. Youssef reminds us that apostates dream of salvation without a Savior, peace without repentance, and unity without Christ. But believers are not helpless. Christ has equipped His people to recognize falsehood, hold fast to the Gospel, and push back against deception—for the glory of His name. Prayer: Lord, may I be alert to the schemes of the enemy and bold to confront false teaching in my midst out of zeal for Your name. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings” (Jude 1:8). Fusion: How To Receive The Breath of God | Pastor Shola OkodughaOpening from Isaiah 60:22, Pastor Shola Okodugha introduces the theme of Fusion, the process of combining distinct elements into a single un ified whole. Like different notes coming together to produce one distinct sound, or atomic nuclei colliding to release enormous energy, fusion speaks of what happens when God brings things together for His purpose.Drawing from Ezekiel 37:1–14, one prayer we must continually pray is for knowledge and revelation "that we may know," that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened. The way you know the hand of the Lord is upon you is by the situations you find yourself in. The signs are chaos, things not working when they should. And when there are signs that things might change but still aren't moving, that is the noise before the breakthrough. If only you knew there was more, you would not settle for what you have already received. From Hebrews 11:3, he reminds us that some situations require a second touch. Even though God has made promises, we must fight from victory, not from defeat. If you are not willing to contend, you are not willing to have. And just because you have not yet seen the outcome does not mean it has not already happened in the spirit. The bones in Ezekiel came together, but they were not yet living. God formed man, but he was not yet alive until God breathed into him. Referencing John 20:21–22, Psalm 33:6, Job 26:13, Job 33:8, Psalm 18:14, Job 4:9, and Isaiah 11:4, Pastor Shola establishes that the breath of God may be the only thing missing in a person's life. How to Receive the Breath of God:1. Read the Word until you are quickened by itThis message will help you:- Recognise the signs of God's hand at work even in seasons of chaos.- Contend for the fullness of what God has promised you.- Understand that the outcome has already happened, keep pressing.- Position yourself to receive the breath of God through intercession and the Word.- Watch, reflect, and allow God to breathe life into every dry and dormant thing in your life.——ABOUT THE NEWWe are a people of love and excellence who are result-oriented, spirit-led, word-rooted, prayer-driven, and kingdom-conscious. Main Points 1. Believers are called, sanctified, and preserved (v. 1). 2. Believers must contend earnestly for the faith (v. 3). 3. False teachers are ungodly, immoral, and unbelieving (v. 4). In Jude 1–4, believers are reminded that they are called, sanctified, and preserved by God through Jesus Christ. Because of that secure position in Christ, they are commanded to contend earnestly for the faith—the unchanging truth of the gospel once for all delivered to the saints. Jude explains why this command is necessary: false teachers had secretly entered the church, turning God's grace into an excuse for sinful living and refusing to submit to Jesus Christ as Lord. Though they appeared to be part of the church, their beliefs and behavior revealed otherwise. This passage serves as both an encouragement and a warning. Believers can rest in God's preserving grace, but they must also remain vigilant. The faith is worth defending, and Christians are called to stand for the truth with both courage and love.

OPENING STORY(ies) From the Lord of the Rings second book, The Two Towers In The Lord of the Rings, King Théoden has slowly fallen under the corrupting influence of Gríma Wormtongue. Wormtongue constantly whispers lies, fear, half-truths, and discouragement into the king's ear until Théoden becomes weak, passive, isolated, and unable to discern reality clearly. The corruption is subtle, not obvious. Wormtongue presents himself as a loyal counselor while actually undermining the king and the kingdom from within. Then Gandalf confronts the deception directly. He exposes Wormtongue's influence, calls Théoden to wake up, and helps him see clearly again. Once freed from that corrupting voice, Théoden rises, regains strength, and leads courageously. That parallels Jude well: False teachers rarely arrive looking dangerous. They infiltrate quietly (“have slipped in among you” — Jude 4). They distort truth while pretending loyalty. Over time they weaken discernment, courage, holiness, and mission. Jude, like Gandalf, is sounding the alarm: wake up, see clearly, contend for the faith, and do not surrender the community to corrupt influences. -ChatGPT Jude is giving the Church a wake-up call to arms. It's a challenging call that most Christ-followers brush aside so it won't disturb their spiritual slumber. Through Jude's letter, God is calling his church--his body--to rise up and contend for the faith, reject distorted grace, and stay vigilant with ourselves and others regarding ungodliness. We do all of this in love because we're loved. This calling is for everyone. And it's a calling few are willing to step into. It reminded me of Shackleton's newspaper ad when recruiting and hiring men for his expedition to cross Antarctica: Right image courtesy of John Hyatt http://johnhyattillustration.com SHACKLETON Newspaper ad: "Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success." CONTEXT The book of Jude was written by Jude, who identifies himself as “a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James” (Jude 1). Most scholars believe this means Jude was also a half-brother of Jesus, making him part of Jesus' earthly family (cf. Matthew 13:55). Rather than emphasizing his family connection to Jesus, Jude humbly identifies himself as Christ's servant. He likely wrote the letter sometime before AD 70 to a group of Christians facing the growing threat of false teachers infiltrating the church from within. Jude originally intended to write a positive letter about “the salvation we share,” but felt compelled instead to urge believers to “contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people” (Jude 3). The danger was not primarily persecution from outside the church, but corruption from inside it. These false teachers distorted God's grace into permission for immorality, rejected God's authority, and influenced others through arrogance, sensuality, and selfish ambition. Jude responds with some of the strongest warning language in the New Testament, drawing repeatedly from Old Testament history and vivid illustrations to remind believers that God takes both truth and holiness seriously. Yet the letter is ultimately framed by hope: believers are loved by God the Father, kept by Jesus Christ, and sustained by God's power. Bottom line: Standing firm means contending for The Faith, rejecting distorted grace, and staying vigilant of both ourselves and others in love and by love. OUTLINE I. Every time I try to wake up, the lullaby goes faster. The husband believed they finally had “the abundant life” — safety, money, comfort, freedom. But after only a short time, the wife became deeply troubled and told him she wanted to return to the Middle East because the spiritual complacency of the Western church was more dangerous to her soul than persecution in Iran. December 26, 2004. Mai Khao Beach, Phuket, Thailand. Christmas holiday. Perfect weather. The Smith family walked along the sand on their first overseas vacation together. Then Tilly noticed something wrong. The water wasn't behaving normally. ""It wasn't calm and it wasn't going in and then out,"" she later recalled. ""It was just coming in and in and in."" The sea had turned frothy—""like you get on a beer,"" she said. ""It was sort of sizzling."" Any other ten-year-old might have thought it strange. Tilly knew exactly what it meant. Two weeks earlier, her geography teacher Andrew Kearney had shown the class footage of the 1946 tsunami that devastated Hawaii. He taught them the warning signs: sea receding unusually far, frothy bubbling water, ocean behaving strangely. Tilly was watching those exact warning signs unfold in front of her. She started screaming at her parents. ""There's going to be a tsunami!"" They didn't believe her. They couldn't see any wave. The sky was clear. The beach was calm. But Tilly wouldn't stop. She became more insistent, more frantic. ""I'm going,"" she finally said. ""I'm definitely going. There is definitely going to be a tsunami."" Her father Colin heard the urgency in her voice. He decided to trust his daughter. By coincidence, a Japanese man nearby overheard Tilly use the word ""tsunami."" He'd just heard news of an earthquake in Sumatra. ""I think your daughter's right,"" he said. Colin alerted hotel staff. They began evacuating immediately. Tilly's mother Penny was one of the last to leave. She had to sprint as the water began rushing in behind her. ""I ran,"" she recalled, ""and then I thought I was going to die."" They made it to the second floor with seconds to spare. Then the wave hit. Thirty feet tall. Everything on the beach—beds, palm trees, debris—was swept into the pool and beyond. ""Even if you hadn't drowned,"" Penny later said, ""you would have been hit by something."" The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami killed over 230,000 people across 14 countries. Entire beaches in Phuket were wiped out. But at Mai Khao Beach, not a single person died. Because a ten-year-old girl paid attention in geography class. Tilly was hailed as the ""Angel of the Beach."" She received awards, spoke at the United Nations, met Bill Clinton. Her story is now taught in schools worldwide. Her father Colin still thinks about what could have happened. ""If she hadn't told us, we would have just kept on walking,"" he said. ""I'm convinced we would have died."" Tilly still credits her teacher. ""If it wasn't for Mr. Kearney,"" she told the UN, ""I'd probably be dead and so would my family."" Two weeks. One lesson. One hundred lives. That's the power of education. YOUTUBE DESCRIPTION Contending for the Faith | “How Do We Stand Firm in Truth and Love?” Preacher: Darien Gabriel Series: Contending for the Faith Scripture: Epistle of Jude 1–16 (NIV) Grace Christian Fellowship Grace Christian Fellowship In a culture filled with spiritual confusion, distorted grace, and growing compromise, the book of Jude gives the church a wake-up call. Jude urges believers to “contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's holy people” (Jude 3). The danger wasn't primarily persecution from outside the church—but corruption from within. False teachers quietly slipped into the church, distorted God's grace into permission for sin, rejected God's authority, and weakened discernment among God's people. In this message, Pastor Darien Gabriel walks through Jude 1–16 and explores what it means to stand firm in both truth and love. Bottom Line Standing firm means contending for the faith, rejecting distorted grace, and staying vigilant in fruit-bearing of both ourselves and others in love and by love. In This Sermon * What it means to “contend for the faith” * Why false teaching is often subtle and deceptive * The danger of spiritual complacency * How grace can be distorted into license for sin * Why vigilance and discernment matter in the church * The examples of Israel, Sodom & Gomorrah, and rebellious angels * How believers can examine themselves faithfully and lovingly * Why truth and love must stay together Key Scriptures * Epistle of Jude 1–16 * Second Epistle to the Corinthians 13:5 * Book of Numbers 14 * Book of Ezekiel 16:49 * First Epistle to the Corinthians 6:9–11 * Gospel of Luke 6:41–42 Opening Illustrations This sermon includes reflections on: * The Two Towers and the corrupting influence of Gríma Wormtongue on King Théoden * Ernest Shackleton's famous Antarctic expedition recruitment ad * Testimonies from persecuted believers who warn against the spiritual complacency of the Western church Jude reminds us that false teaching rarely announces itself openly. It slips in quietly, weakens discernment gradually, and lulls believers into spiritual compromise. But God calls His people to wake up, see clearly, and remain faithful to Jesus Christ. As a very young man, Derrick received a powerful vision that shaped and prepared him for a lifetime of radical committed service to the Lord. From that moment on, God opened "the eyes of his understanding," gifting him with a powerful supernatural ability to grasp deeper meanings and revelations in Old Testament verses that many completely overlook. Driven by a heart throbbing passion for the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua, Derrick shares how God gave him a "big ol' Jewish heart" with a weighty, uncompromising love for "the Jew first and then for the Gentile." His profound grasp of the Word didn't just give him knowledge—it launched him into a completely surrendered life, laying everything down at the feet of Yeshua. Derrick's down-to-earth, no-compromise approach to solid doctrine is a true living picture of who he is described in Jude 1:3, as a servant of the Lord: A man "earnestly contending for the faith that was once delivered to the saints."Stay tuned until the end as we launch into a fervent, river-of-living-waters fellowship discussion meant to refresh, strengthen, and convict your soul.Connect with Derrick: **Bible Study With Drew You Tube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@biblestudywithderrick**Rumble page: rumble.com/user/BiblestudywithDerrick**Bible study Friday 6PM Central us02web.zoom.us/j/5723953008**Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5nZTLKYr9I7xiuvp4sgkSj?si=CcGobKp5Tti8JfgWXkBgjg&nd=1&dlsi=43d057fe29a74a87#Yeshua, #BibleStudy, #Testimony, #Jude13, #ChristianFellowship #DerrickDrew

Corporate prayer and national repentance have shaped history, and Scripture like Jonah 3:10 reveals how God responds when people turn to Him together. Praying as a nation isn’t symbolic—it’s a powerful, biblical practice that invites God’s mercy, guidance, and restoration. This devotional highlights how God has consistently responded to unified, humble prayer—from the city of Nineveh to moments in American history. When people come together, set aside differences, and seek God collectively, it reflects dependence on Him rather than self-sufficiency. National prayer isn’t about politics or performance—it’s about hearts aligning with God, turning from sin, and trusting Him to lead, heal, and sustain a nation. Just as individuals are called to pray, communities and countries are invited to do the same. Highlights God responds to corporate prayer and genuine repentance Biblical examples show entire cities and nations turning to God together Unity in prayer reflects humility and dependence on God National prayer invites God’s mercy, healing, and direction Spiritual battles require spiritual responses—not just physical solutions Setting aside differences for prayer strengthens collective faith Do you want to listen ad-free? Full Transcript Below: Why Praying As a Nation Matters to God By Lynette Kittle Bible Reading: “When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, He relented and did not bring on them the destruction He had threatened.” - Jonah 3:10 As America celebrates 250 years as a nation, some ask, does it matter if our nation prays together on the National Day of Prayer? Does God even pay attention to or hear us when we pray corporately as a nation? The answer is “yes”: it matters to God, and we can be assured of this because the Bible provides plenty of evidence that He often calls us to corporate prayer for a city or a nation. Most of us are familiar with the well-known biblical passage 2 Chronicles 7:14, which says, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” As in the story of Jonah and the wicked city of Nineveh, God called for the entire city to pray and repent, and even the animals were included in the city’s prayer, fasting, and repentance. As Jonah 3:4-8 describes, God led an entire city to repentance through corporate prayer: “Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, ‘Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.’ The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: ‘By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from His fierce anger so that we will not perish.” In Jonah 3:10, we read of God’s gracious response to their corporate prayer: He relented rather than sending destruction. Likewise, looking back at America’s Founders, we see that they recognized the importance of corporate prayer and that establishing a nation’s future doesn’t just involve fighting a physical battle for victory, but also a spiritual one. They demonstrated this when they officially met and came together for the first time on September 7, 1774, as the Continental Congress of the United States, opening with prayer and the reading of Psalm 35 by Rev. Jacob Duché, which begins with, “Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.” This was no easy feat, either, as the outspoken members had to set aside their denominational differences to pray together, uniting members who were Congregationalists, Anglicans, Quakers, Dutch Reformed, Baptists, Lutherans, Puritans, and Presbyterians, coming together to overlook their differences, joining in one accord, praying for a common goal. American Conservative radio talk-show host and writer, Dennis Prager, explains, “Ultimately, they wanted people to be free to practice their religion and relate to God in their own way. They all knew God is the source of liberty.” Providence Forum Executive Director Dr. Jerry Newcombe points out how historians find in George Washington’s writings and actions during the Revolutionary War that he relied heavily on prayer, believing that with the tremendous odds set against them, victory could only come with God’s help. As well, “The Great Awakening absolutely helped the cause of independence,” writes Newcombe. “Even before the Great Awakening, the ministers, especially the ones from New England, helped shape the thinking of the Colonists as to their God-given rights.” Christian historians believe the spread of “The Great Awakening” across the colonies greatly influenced and strengthened Patriot leaders leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, during which prayer and fasting played a critical role in helping America establish its freedom. In Miracles in American History, author, historian, and speaker William J. Federer writes about the many national calls to prayer leading up to and throughout the formation of the United States of America. Intersecting Faith & Life:Are you planning to join our nation in praying for God’s divine guidance and protection over our country? If not, consider praying with millions of believers across our land who will be praying together during this year’s 250th Anniversary, National Day of Prayer. Refugees are often some of the people most vulnerable to climate change. After fleeing armed conflict or persecution, many refugees end up in camps located in rural areas, with few resources and little support. That can leave them vulnerable to floods, storms, extreme heat, or other impacts of climate change. This episode focuses on these impacts, with insights from Ayoo Irene Hellen, a South Sudanese refugee in Uganda and climate advocate. She discusses her own experiences, those of her community, and the value of including refugee voices in planning. Want to dive deeper? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 21st of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to Exodus 17:2: “Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” Then we go to Psalm 95:8: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,…” The Lord says, “Do not contend against Me, do not argue with Me, do not challenge Me.” Never, ever fight with God. He has never lost a fight.Folks, I really want to say to you today, don't challenge God. Remember Job the farmer? After he had been arguing with God, the Lord said, “Stand up like a man and answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” Exactly! It is almost ludicrous to challenge God. I have heard some people thump the table. It scares me, “When I get to Heaven, God is going to answer some questions that I have got for Him.” Oh my dear friend, you have no idea Who you are even talking about! If you want to fight, fight with the devil, but never, ever challenge the King of Glory. You know, He is for you, He is not against you. If Christ is for you, no man will stand against you. Why are you arguing with the only One in the world that can help you? “Yes, but I asked God to do this but He didn't do it,” and “I asked God to do that and it hasn't come through.”I want to say something to you. He has never, ever let me down in over fifty years. It brings a tear to my eye when I hear people say, “God is going to answer some of my questions.” Don't contend with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Go to Him now, today, and repent and say, “I am sorry, Lord, I didn't mean it. Please forgive me.” Do you know what happened to the Children of Israel, when they contended with God? Not one of them, except Joshua and Caleb, actually entered into the Land of Milk and Honey. They all perished in the desert. Only their children crossed over the Jordan. Do not do it today. I want to pray for you:Heavenly Father,I pray for my dear friend, that young girl, that young man who are contending, questioning Your authority, questioning Your love for them. Lord, please today, reassure them that You are in their corner, that You will stand up for them, and that they will have the victory if they have patience and serve You with all of their hearts. I ask this in Jesus' name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.
Evening lessons: Psalms 35; Proverbs 13; Colossians 2:20-3:11. Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me, and fight against those who fight against me.

The Letter of Jude E2 — In the introduction to his letter, Jude (or Judah) shares that he had hoped to write about the community's “shared rescue” of salvation in Jesus. But urgent problems in the church forced him to send a warning instead. He calls his readers to “contend for the faith once for all handed down,” describing this faith as made up of trust in the story of Jesus and loyalty to Jesus' way of life. But what is the threat Jude wants them to guard against, and how does he describe it? In this episode, Jon and Tim break down the introduction to the letter of Jude, revealing a multitude of Hebrew Bible hyperlinks and a method of reading Scripture as unified meditation literature.CHAPTERSLoved, Kept, and Called (0:00-13:20)Contend for the Faith (13:20-21:50)The Irreverent Ones (21:50-36:43)The Literary Design of the Letter (36:43-44:41)FULL SHOW NOTESFor chapter-by-chapter summaries, referenced Scriptures, and reflection questions, check out the full show notes for this episode.OFFICIAL EPISODE TRANSCRIPTView this episode's official transcript.BIBLEPROJECT JUDE TRANSLATIONView our full translation of the Letter of Jude.REFERENCED RESOURCESJude and the Relatives of Jesus in the Early Church by Richard BauckhamCheck out Tim's extensive collection of recommended books.SHOW MUSIC“Faithful ft.
