Hey lady! When you see someone you perceive as having great confidence do you seethe with envy or do you admire them and wonder how you can get some of your own motion? This week, Terri and Dr. Dom break down why Black women who exude confidence and self-assuredness get so much hate thrown their way. In today’s popular culture it seems as if you step out into the public eye with high self-regard and good self-concept chances are you are going to catch your fair share of haters. Should you let that stop you? No. But, as a human is it possible to sting when it happens? Sure, which is why Terri and Dr. Dom impart some wisdom about how to still do your thing without worrying about what others think and have to say. Hint: Because 9 times out of 10 whatever is making them uncomfortable is a them thing, so keep doing you, boo! What if the thing slowing you down isn't the decision itself, but the way you're approaching it?   Join me this week as I share eight strategies successful people use when making decisions. You'll learn how to stop overthinking, make choices with less drama, avoid constantly revisiting decisions you've already made, and start making decisions based on the future you want to create instead of the past you're trying to recreate.   Watch the episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/q1p1ZmliisM   Get full show notes, transcript, and more information here: https://jodymoore.com/577   Follow me on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/jodymoorecoaching/

Three genuinely sharp financial minds sit down today and, one by one, admit to the same kind of dumb money moves everyone else makes. Not because they didn't know better. Because knowing better and doing better turn out to be two completely different skills, and your brain is very good at making bad ideas feel reasonable in the moment. This episode isn't about learning new investment tactics. It's about learning to recognize the exact moment your own mind starts working against you, and what to do about it before it costs you. What You'll Walk Away WithThe three specific flavors of overconfidence that combine into what one expert calls "a recipe for disaster"Why "I'll wait until it comes back" is one of the most dangerous sentences an investor can say to themselves, and when it's actually trueThe surprising reason financially literate people still make emotional money mistakes, according to research on an unrelated professionA simple writing exercise that makes you far more likely to stick to your own financial planWhy betting on what's familiar, your employer's stock, your home country's market, is quietly one of the riskiest things you can doA martial-arts-inspired mental trick for turning your own biases into tools instead of trapsThe real reason "this time is different" almost always feels true and is almost always the wrong conclusion to act onWhy This Matters NowIn your 40s, you've likely made enough financial decisions to have a track record, some smart, some you'd rather not revisit. The goal isn't to eliminate emotion from money; that's not realistic, and it's not even the point. It's to recognize the specific moments your gut is about to overrule your plan, and to have something in place, a rule, a person, a system, that catches you before it does. Confidence with money doesn't come from never being tempted to make a bad call. It comes from knowing exactly what you'll do when you are. From the BasementThe crew's year-long trivia championship takes a wild turn with a Spanish treasure fleet question that somehow ends in someone getting bonus points for pure luck, which is a fittingly ironic way to close an episode all about how bad we are at judging our own luck.Resources MentionedThe Behavioral Investor by Daniel Crosby — second edition available for preorderAfford Anything podcast — Paula Pant's showPersonal Finance for Long-Term Investors podcast — Jesse Cramer's showSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Advice from friends, social media, or AI can also sound compelling without accounting for your full financial picture. In this episode, Jeremiah and Laura explore the behavioral patterns behind financial decisions, how personal experiences shape our relationship with money, and why a clear plan can help create a better filter for important choices. In this episode of The Budgetdog Breakdown, I answer real listener questions about money guilt, investing during market downturns, building wealth with small monthly investments, managing bonuses, and having healthier financial conversations with your spouse. We discuss why confidence comes from having a financial plan, why trying to time the market rarely works, how consistent investing builds long-term wealth, and why your relationship with money often matters more than the numbers in your bank account. We also need to belong to groups and to have relationships where we matter. When people make you irrelevant, they withhold these basic things when you have an expectation that you should be included. I unpack where this narrative is coming from, why it's gaining traction, and what's actually happening inside therapeutic spaces when no‑contact is discussed. We explore the difference between setting boundaries for emotional safety versus cutting people off to avoid accountability, and how the public conversation is blurring those lines. I also share real‑world context about how therapy supports healing, not isolation, and why the decision to go no‑contact is far more complex than social media soundbites suggest. If you've ever struggled with boundaries, felt judged for protecting your peace, or wondered how therapy fits into these choices, this episode offers clarity, nuance, and a grounded perspective.Stay connected with me beyond the podcast—follow the blog at www.toitime.org for deeper wellness conversations, and join me on all socials at @toitimeblog for daily intentional living content.

Ever feel ALONE even when you're surrounded by people? Like no matter who is in the room, nobody's actually seeing the real you just the role you've been playing?Every single one of us walks around wearing LABELS and masks we didn't choose: the fixer, the healer, the reliable one, or even the black sheep. This week, bestselling author, mental wellness expert, and medical speech-language pathologist LAUREN POLLY is back to help you understand where those roles come from, why we adapt to them, and how to stop letting them run your life.In this episode, Lauren opens up about her personal 20-year journey navigating a diagnosis of bipolar disorder at age 14, and how she learned to find her true voice underneath that label. In this episode, you'll learn:The Reality of PROJECTION: How the people around you constantly cast you into roles based on what they need, not who you actually are. Lauren shares a raw story of being cast as the "villain" at work and how she navigated it using SELF-TRUST instead of self-blame.The Trap of "Positive" Labels: Why being the designated "fixer" or "healer" is a gift, but can easily become a cage when it's the only part of you allowed to exist. The Power of MICRO MOMENTS: Why you don't need to blow up your whole life to change. Lauren breaks down how small, low-risk daily shifts can safely reconnect you with the buried parts of yourself.Rethinking BOUNDARIES: Why "cancel culture" style boundaries and completely cutting people off aren't always the answer, and how real freedom ultimately comes down to one question: Who are you when the room is confused about you? This week is all about building the self-trust to stop performing, drop the act, and start living as your whole, real self.Connect with Lauren Polly Website: https://laurenpolly.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/laurenpollycoach/→ → → CONNECT WITH PEDRO FRIAS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: ← ← ← ▶︎ YOUTUBE | https://www.youtube.com/realpedrofrias ▶︎ INSTAGRAM | https://www.instagram.com/pedromfrias ▶︎ FACEBOOK | https://www.facebook.com/pedro.frias.7927408 ▶︎ LINKEDIN | https://www.linkedin.com/in/pedrofrias/ ▶︎ TWITTER | https://www.twitter.com/pedromfrias ▶︎ WEBSITE | https://www.pedrofrias.co

Every marriage begins with the same illusion. Two people stand before God, family, friends, and the state believing they are making the same promises, entering the same covenant, accepting the same responsibilities, and assuming the same risks. But what if they aren't? What if one of the country's most respected divorce attorneys has identified something almost nobody investigates? He argues that marriage may be the only contract where both people make promises, yet only certain promises remain legally enforceable after the relationship dies. In the traditional heterosexual marriage, those enforceable obligations have historically fallen most often upon the husband because he has more frequently occupied the provider role. The law cannot order love. It cannot compel desire. It cannot restore admiration. It cannot manufacture respect. It cannot sentence affection. But it can enforce financial obligations with the authority of the state. If that observation contains even a fragment of truth, then every uncomfortable question suddenly becomes unavoidable. Did two people actually enter the same contract? Or did they unknowingly enter two different agreements hidden beneath one wedding ceremony? If modern family law is written in gender-neutral language, why do so many men experience its consequences as gender-specific? Is the law producing unequal outcomes, or is the culture still producing unequal roles that the law merely inherits? Who authored these rules of engagement? Religion? Common law? Economics? Chivalry? Or an unexamined cultural assumption that men exist to remain responsible while women exist to remain protected? Then another possibility enters the courtroom. Suppose the legal system is not exposing the first fracture in the marriage. Suppose it is exposing the last. Krishnamurti questioned whether husbands and wives ever truly encounter one another, or merely the images they construct. Thomas Campbell suggests that images require continual maintenance because fear, ego, and unhealed wounds generate psychological entropy. If two people unknowingly married images instead of one another, perhaps the courtroom is not where the marriage failed. Perhaps it is where the hidden architecture of the marriage finally becomes visible. Tonight's investigation is neither pro-marriage nor anti-marriage. It is far more dangerous than that. If marriage sells mutual vows but enforces only certain measurable obligations, and if those obligations still tend to attach to the male provider role in heterosexual relationships, are men entering a romantic covenant…or a gendered liability structure dressed in sacred language?

You have access to more fitness information than any previous generation. ChatGPT, Google, YouTube, social media, and of course this podcast can answer almost any question about losing fat or building muscle in seconds. So why are so few people over 40 actually getting better results? The problem was never a lack of information. Most people are using AI to solve the wrong problem entirely. The generic plans you ask for rarely change your body, and this is explained in the behavior research. Knowing what to do is not the same as doing it... adherence has always mattered more than the plan you choose.AI becomes useful when you treat it like a coach instead of a search engine. Feed it your own training logs, nutrition data, and biofeedback, and it helps you make better decisions instead of collecting more advice.Later in the episode, I also share a simple prompt that gets honest feedback from any AI tool instead of agreement.By the end you will know which jobs to hand AI, which to keep for yourself, and how to use it for execution instead of just more information.Try Fitness Lab, the AI coaching app that reads your data, coaches you on your patterns, and keeps you consistent for adults over 40 who want to lose fat and build strength. It's not. At least not entirely. Getting healthy is an identity transformation. And whenever someone changes their identity, it disrupts the expectations of the people around them. The resistance you're experiencing isn't proof you're doing something wrong. It's often proof you're growing. The TruthYou don't need permission to get healthy. You don't need permission to get stronger. You don't need permission to become the person you're capable of becoming. And sometimes...The people who question your growth today will be asking for your advice tomorrow. If you enjoyed this episode:⭐ Follow the show⭐ Leave a 5-star review⭐ Share this episode with someone who's trying to improve their health⭐ And remember...Growth doesn't require everyone's approval. Cross-border financial planning can become stressful when important tasks are delayed. U.S. brokerage accounts, IRA accounts, beneficiary designations, estate documents, and account transfers often take longer than expected, especially for Americans living in Israel. What feels like a routine financial task can quickly become a last-minute scramble when paperwork, firm response times, holidays, and professional coordination all collide. The best time to deal with financial decisions is before pressure builds. Starting early gives you time to review your options, ask questions, gather documents, and make more thoughtful choices. For cross-border investors, acting during calm periods can make the difference between a manageable process and a stressful deadline. Key takeaways and action points: Review any U.S. brokerage, IRA, estate, or beneficiary tasks you have been postponing Start early, especially when cross-border paperwork or financial institutions are involved Build extra time into your planning so delays do not become emergencies Take one concrete step this week instead of waiting for the perfect moment If you would like to review how your U.S. brokerage or IRA accounts fit into your life in Israel, schedule your free introductory call to see if we're a good fit: https://profile-financial.com/call

Think about the last time you tried to work on yourself. Chances are you started with a list of everything that's wrong with you — what you don't like, what you should be doing, and what you want to "fix." But what if thinking about yourself as "broken" is the thing that's keeping you stuck? My guest today is Dr. Paul Conti, a Harvard- and Stanford-trained psychiatrist who runs the group practice Pacific Premier Group. Ever wondered why your podcast gets lovely feedback but doesn't seem to be leading to more conversations or more of the right people reaching out?In this episode, I'm exploring what I believe is one of the biggest misunderstandings in podcasting: that your podcast's job is to generate enquiries. I don't think it is.Instead, I think its real role is something much quieter—and much more powerful. You'll hear:Why people don't make decisions because they've consumed enough information, but because they've gradually become more certain. The hidden role your podcast can play in reducing uncertainty for the right listeners. Why “providing value” and helping someone become ready to take the next step aren't always the same thing. One simple question to ask yourself before planning your next episode that could completely change the way you create content. If this episode left you thinking, “I genuinely don't know what uncertainty my listeners still have…” that's exactly the question the Decision Gap Diagnostic is designed to help you answer.Together, we'll look at the role your podcast is playing, where people might still be feeling uncertain, and what could help them leave with greater clarity and confidence. You can find all the details here: https://evergreenpodcaststrategy.co.uk/podcast-audit---Resources mentioned in this episodeYour Podcast Has A Role. Do You Know What It Is? [Ep 202]-Thank you for listening to this episode of Rethinking Podcasting. If this episode made you think differently about your podcast, your content or the role your podcast plays in your business, I'd love to hear what shifted for you.Send an email to info@evergreenpodcaststrategy.co.uk with DECISION in the subject line. As every great founder will tell you, trading time for money is a losing game. Ownership is how wealth actually gets built. Come to Main Street Millionaire Live and learn how — http://info.contrarianthinking.co/msmlbig-deal You've got the skill. You've got the product. But every time you talk to a wealthy buyer, you drop your price before they even ask. Here's the truth: broke people buy for price. Rich people buy for risk mitigation. And if you're still leading with "affordable," you've already lost the sale. In this episode, you'll learn: The four currencies wealthy buyers protect above all else: time, risk, reputation, and control, and why price doesn't even make the list Why ego kills deals and how to turn your buyer into an ally instead of making them defend their identity The EGO framework: Earn, Gap, Outcome, and how to diagnose instead of describe so you sound like an expert, not a salesperson How to anchor the conversation around consequence, not cost, so price becomes irrelevant The three buyer types: optimizer, delegator, and rationalizer, and why each one needs a completely different close Why "just checking in" is the most useless sentence in sales and the three piece follow up framework that actually gets responses: Point, Proof, Path The premium close that gives control back to the buyer and makes them feel smart for saying yes Stop apologizing for your price. Start solving expensive problems. Rich buyers don't want cheap. They want certainty. ___________ (00:00:00) Introduction: Why Rich People Don't Care About Your Price (00:01:02) The Four Currencies Rich Buyers Protect With Their Lives (00:03:59) The Ego Framework: Earn, Gap, Outcome (00:06:30) Stop Describing, Start Diagnosing: The Authority Shift (00:12:54) The Three Types of Rich Buyers and How to Close Each One (00:17:09) The Premium Close: Options, Recommendation, Reason, Next Step (00:19:42) Say the Number and Shut Up: The Silence After Price (00:23:01) The Three-Piece Follow-Up: Point, Proof, Path (00:26:23) The Prize Is Trust, Not Money: Building Referral Engines (00:26:57) Clear Over Cheap: Selling Like an Operator ___________ MORE FROM BIGDEAL

Jase, Al, and Zach reflect on the childhood nostalgia and wonder that space exploration inspires, and Al contrasts humanity's growing knowledge with its shrinking sense of awe. The guys jump into a discussion about Jesus' voluntary sacrifice and what it really means to follow God's commands—not as burdens, but as invitations into life. Jase offers a direct challenge to how most people think about faith: testimony isn't about your story, your turnaround, or your effort, it's about Jesus.  In this episode: John 10, verses 14–18; 1 John 5, verses 6–11; Romans 6, verses 1–11; Romans 8, verses 1–39; Ephesians 5, verse 1; Ephesians 5, verse 21; 2 Timothy 4, verses 7–8; Revelation 5, verses 8–14 “Unashamed” Episode 1315 is sponsored by: https://chministries.org/unashamed — See why Christians are ditching health insurance for good.
