Pero surge una pregunta bastante sencilla: ¿Jesús dijo alguna vez que esas eran las actividades espirituales que Dios esperaba de sus seguidores? Porque cuando uno lee los evangelios, Jesús habla de amor, misericordia, justicia, ayudar a los necesitados, no cargar a las personas con pesos religiosos y no convertir la fe en una lista de obligaciones humanas. Confira:  Alguns homens do meu grupo de estudo bíblico tinham quase 80 anos, e surpreendeu-me saber que lutavam contra a luxúria: uma batalha que travavam desde a juventude. Todos os dias comprometiam-se a seguir Jesus e pediam perdão por suas falhas. Não deveríamos nos chocar ao saber que pessoas piedosas ainda lutam contra desejos vis na fase avançada da vida. Um ídolo é tudo o que ameaça tomar o lugar de Deus em nossa vida, e eles podem aparecer mesmo após acharmos que sumiram. Na Bíblia, Jacó foi salvo de seu tio Labão e de seu irmão Esaú. Ele voltava para Betel para adorar a Deus e celebrar Suas muitas bênçãos, mas sua família ainda mantinha ídolos pagãos que Jacó precisou enterrar (GÊNESIS 35:2-4). Lemos também que, após os israelitas derrotarem seus inimigos e estabelecerem-se em Canaã, Josué ainda os orientava a jogar “fora os falsos deuses […] em seu meio e [voltar] o coração para o Senhor” (JOSUÉ 24:23). Aparentemente a esposa de Davi, Mical, guardava ídolos, pois colocou um em sua cama para enganar os soldados que vieram matá-lo (1 SAMUEL 19:11-16). Os ídolos são mais comuns do que pensamos, e Deus é mais paciente do que merecemos. Os desejos para voltarmos a eles virão, mas o perdão de Deus é maior. (2 Raja-raja 2:6)Renungan: Seorang ayah berpesan kepada kedua orang anaknya yang akan mengikuti ujian sekolah. Katanya, "Asalkan nilai-nilai kalian tidak ada di bawah angka enam, ayah sudah sangat senang dan tidak akan marah!" Akan tetapi anak bungsunya melakukan lebih dari permintaan ayahnya. la mendapatkan nilai yang sangat memuaskan sehingga ia menjadi juara satu di kelas. Meski Nabi Elia berkata supaya Elisa tinggal, tetapi Elisa untuk ketiga kalinya juga dengan tekad yang kuat tetap mengikuti Elia. Elisa menjawab bahwa dirinya tidak akan meninggalkan Elia. Alhasil, tekad kuat Elisa tersebut membawa dirinya memperoleh kesempatan untuk meminta dua bagian roh Elia supaya dipenuhi kuasa Tuhan. Setelah Elisa melihat Nabi Elia terangkat ke surga, Elisa pun memperoleh yang dimintanya. Sementara itu rombongan nabi hanya mengetahui tetapi tidak melihat dan tak mendapatkan sesuatu. Set against the backdrop of Spain's devastating AIDS-era heroin epidemic, Shooting Up: A Memoir of Love, Loss and Addiction (Infinite Press, February 17, 2026) is Tepper's searing coming-of-age story about growing up inside a radical experiment in compassion—one that exposed a young boy to addiction, death, and grief, while teaching him, in the most intimate way possible, what it means to love people society has written off. In 1985, Jonathan arrived in Spain with his Christian missionary parents and three brothers and was soon immersed in the harsh realities of San Blas, then the epicenter of Spain's—and Europe's—heroin crisis. While most children his age were absorbed in schoolyard routines, Jonathan was sent into the streets to seek out yonkis—heroin users living on the margins—and encourage them to come to the mission center his parents were building from the ground up. That center, Betel, would become a pioneering drug-rehabilitation community. Jonathan befriended many of the addicts, who became his surrogate older brothers and sisters. But tragedy soon struck his own family: in 1991, Jonathan's younger brother Timothy was killed in a car accident at the age of nine. Un pozo puede ser el lugar más sagrado del universo, como lo fue para mujer samaritana cuya sed fue saciada en Cristo. En fin, la Biblia está llena de casos en los que la belleza del templo jamás fue más importante que la presencia del Salvador.Piensa durante este sábado en la importancia de estar con Jesús; eso vale más que mostrarte para Jesús. El séptimo día fue un regalo que Dios se dio a sí mismo para que reconociéramos quién es él, lo que hizo para salvarnos y cómo nos amará por la eternidad. Kencan Dengan Tuhan - Sabtu, 7 Februari 2026Bacaan: "Berkatalah Elia kepadanya: "Baiklah tinggal di sini, sebab Tuhan menyuruh aku ke sungai Yordan." Jawabnya: "Demi Tuhan yang hidup dan demi hidupmu sendiri, sesungguhnya aku tidak akan meninggalkan engkau. " Lalu berjalanlah keduanya." (2 Raja-raja 2:6)Renungan: Seorang ayah berpesan kepada kedua orang anaknya yang akan mengikuti ujian sekolah. Katanya, "Asalkan nilai-nilai kalian tidak ada di bawah angka enam, ayah sudah sangat senang dan tidak akan marah!" Akan tetapi anak bungsunya melakukan lebih dari permintaan ayahnya. la mendapatkan nilai yang sangat memuaskan sehingga ia menjadi juara satu di kelas. Meski Nabi Elia berkata supaya Elisa tinggal, tetapi Elisa untuk ketiga kalinya juga dengan tekad yang kuat tetap mengikuti Elia. Elisa menjawab bahwa dirinya tidak akan meninggalkan Elia. Alhasil, tekad kuat Elisa tersebut membawa dirinya memperoleh kesempatan untuk meminta dua bagian roh Elia supaya dipenuhi kuasa Tuhan. Setelah Elisa melihat Nabi Elia terangkat ke surga, Elisa pun memperoleh yang dimintanya. Sementara itu rombongan nabi hanya mengetahui tetapi tidak melihat dan tak mendapatkan sesuatu. Banyak orang mengharapkan sesuatu yang istimewa tetapi tidak semua mendapatkan apa yang diharapkannya, karena masing-masing orang mempunyai tekad yang berbeda-beda. Orang yang bertekad kuat tidak akan tinggal diam dan berhenti begitu saja pada tantangan yang menghadang. Orang yang memiliki tekad yang kuat akan mengusahakan berbagai cara agar sesuatu yang diharapkannya terjadi. la akan bertindak berbeda melebihi orang-orang di sekitarnya hingga dirinya memperoleh hasil melebihi hasil rata-rata. Jadi milikilah tekad yang kuat kalau ingin berhasil. Tuhan Yesus memberkati. Doa:Tuhan Yesus, banyak impian dalam pikiranku demi kehidupan yang lebih indah. Oleh karena itu berilah aku semangat dan tekad yang kuat untuk mewujudkannya. Aku percaya, dengan pertolongan-Mu dan tekad ku, apapun yang menjadi keinginanku sesuai juga dengan kehendak-Mu. Amin.
