On the remote Orkney island of Sanday, a love triangle would end in brutal violence. In June 2009, Yorkshireman Robert Rose disappeared after beginning a relationship with the former girlfriend of local man John "Jack" Campbell. When Rose failed to return home, a major search operation was launched. Two weeks later, his body was discovered hidden among sand dunes on the island.Investigators uncovered a deadly act of jealousy and revenge. Campbell, then in his fifties, had violently beaten Rose to death before attempting to conceal the crime. A court later found him guilty of murder and ordered that he serve a minimum of 16 years in prison. More than a decade later, Campbell, originally from the Falkirk area, was released on compassionate grounds. This episode examines the events that led to a killing that shocked a close knit island community.CREDITS: Presenters: Geoffrey and Molly WansellProducer: Peter Shevlin https://pod60.com/Artwork: George LeighMusic: Dan WansellCONTACT: Twitter: @BloodTies_PodInstagram:@bloodtiespodcastEmail: bloodties.podcast@gmail.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@bloodtiespodcastSupport: patreon.com/bloodtiespodcastPlease complete our survey if you have time: http://bit.ly/bloodtiespodcast-survey Hosted on Acast. That's it – season 2025/26 is in the bag in the City of Discovery. Ups, downs and middling nonsense is all over for another campaign. But what did we make of the final day? Dundee defeated Aberdeen at Dens to notch a superb home record across the entire season and did so in dramatic fashion with Ryan Astley's late winner securing eighth place. Was it a fond farewell for Luke Graham? And what hint of the future did we see against the Dons? Dundee United, meanwhile, finished off their season with a draw at St Mirren in the deadest of dead rubbers. But there's still plenty to discuss including Keir Gilligan's debut in place of the absent Will Ferry, how Sam Cleall-Harding got on and a look ahead to the World Cup. Plus Craig Sibbald's fan fear after Falkirk pre-contract announcement. Tuning in to join host Sean Hamilton are the Courier's Dundee FC writer George Cran and Dundee United writer Alan Temple. Gary Cocker and Graeme Thewliss are the last men standing to take you through the final action of the top half of the premiership for 2025/26. Hearts run out of fuel at just the wrong time, Hibs seem to forget Europe is on the line, and a stress-free matchup between Falkirk and rangers delivers a post split classic that's undeservedly relegated to bottom billing. #celticfc #celticsoul #podcastGlasgow Journalist Michael Pringle joins More than 90 Minutes Editor Andrew Milne for their weekly catch up on all things Celtic ahead of Celtic's trip to Motherwell for a massive midweek game, while Hearts welcome Falkirk. The Edinburgh side are still 1 point ahead of Celtic in the SPFL table after Motherwell took a point off them on Saturday night and Celtic enjoyed a fantastic Sunday beating the rangers 3-1 to set up tense finish to the title race. The Bhoys are still buzzing after Sunday's big win. Maeda grabbed the headlines, but Scales, McGregor, Engels and Tierney deserve massive praise also. Maeda's third goal was up there with Henrik's goal in the 6-2 win back when Martin O'Neill faced Rangers for the first time at Celtic Park. If it is to be O'Neill's last battle in the Glasgow Derby than it will be always remembered for Maeda's second goal which has been replayed repeatedly by the Celtic fans from every angle possible since then. The atmosphere was electric and there was a fitting tribute to Celtic fan Franny Mullen when a Tifo was unveiled in the North Curve, a legend within the Celtic support. The bhoys remembered Franny and exchanged stories about one of life's true characters. As per usual the bhoys finish off the podcast with a trip down memory lane and remember some famous Celtic goals against Rangers including George McCluskey's Cup Final goal which sparked a riot at Hampden and one from the great Paul McStay, one of Celtic's greatest ever servants. This episode of the Huddle Breakdown dives deep into Celtic's comfortable victory over Falkirk. The hosts analyze Daizen Maeda's "world-class" performance, supported by record-breaking packing recovery data, while cautioning against the team's low XG (expected goals) and tendency to "hibernate" after taking a lead. Transitioning to squad planning, the discussion critiques the club's recent contract extensions for players like James Forrest and Liam Scales, questioning the lack of a modern recruitment pathway for an aging squad. Finally, the show wraps with a look at the Scottish Premiership title race, highlighting how variance and "voodoo" luck continue to impact rivals Rangers and Hearts as the season reaches its chaotic conclusion.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it? Tam McManus doesn't think James Forrest, Liam Scales and Luke McCowan signing new deals will get Celtic fans excited. Both Roughie and Tam are tipping Hibs to win the Edinburgh derby. Surprise! Surprise! Motherwell and Falkirk need to stop a possible flat end to the season.
In this edition of The Huddle Breakdown, Alan and James dissect a polarizing Scottish Cup semi-final victory over St. Mirren, characterized by a dominant first-half "packing score" of 220 that devolved into a second-half "debacle" of tactical paralysis. The duo explores Celtic's alarming "hibernation" periods—highlighted by a staggering 34-minute stretch without a single shot—and questions if the squad is currently the "worst coached team in the league" despite their progression to a final against Neil Lennon's Dunfermline. As they look toward the post-split fixtures against Falkirk and Hibs, the discussion shifts to the desperate need for "moments of magic" from high-quality but fitness-compromised stars like Kieran Tierney and Kelechi Iheanacho to salvage the title race.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it?
