Jordan Meeder talks about hiking the Loyalsock Trail and how a chance encounter with Ruth Rode inspired him to create a short documentary about the trail. Watch the documentary here.Learn more about Jordan Meeder here."The name Loyalsock Creek is from the Indian phrase, “LAWI-SAQUICK,” meaning middle creek, since it flows between Muncy Creek and Lycoming Creek. The Loyalsock Creek begins in Wyoming County and ends at Montoursville, PA, where it flows into the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The Loyalsock Trail (LT) is a footpath which begins on PA Route 87, 9.0 miles north of the Route 87-Montoursville Exit of Interstate 180 (US Route 220), and ends at a parking lot on Meade Road, 0.2 miles from US Route 220. The entrance to Meade Road is 2.4 miles north of the intersection of Routes 220 and 154 near Laporte. The LT follows mountain ridges and streams through the Loyalsock Creek watershed as it travels through the woods on footpaths, old logging roads and abandoned railroad grades. It passes through parts of the Loyalsock State Forest for most of its 59.21 miles. The extremes of elevation are 665′ at its lowest, and 2140′ at its highest." Here is our "Impact Classics" episode, which originally aired LIVE on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Today's show exclusively features the music of ANNE McGINTY, often referred to as the world most prolific female composer EVER for concert band literature! From Anne McGinty's website: "Anne McGinty is known throughout the world as the most prolific woman composer in the field of concert band literature, having written more than 225 pieces, with more than 50 of those commissioned by bands across the United States. Thousands of people have played her music and discovered the joy and beauty of playing music that is both educational (helping instrumentalists learn basic musical skills) and also musical, engaging their imagination and encouraging them to stay in the instrumental music program. In addition to concert band, she has written for solo flute with band, solo clarinet with band, brass band, string orchestra, solo flute, flute with piano accompaniment, and music for flute duet, trio, quartet and choir. All of her compositions and arrangements have been published. Her publishers include Queenwood Publications (now Queenwood/Kjos), C. L. Barnhouse Co., Boosey & Hawkes, Hal Leonard Corporation, Kendor Music, Kjos Publications and Southern Music Company. After a successful career spanning 30+ years as both a composer and publisher of educational music, Anne is now writing chamber music for brass and woodwinds, all published by McGinty Music. An expert in writing for wind instruments, Anne is also composing for diverse instrumental combinations to showcase their varied timbral possibilities in modern, tonal music. Highlights of her career include being the first woman composer commissioned to write for the United States Army Band. That composition, entitled Hall Of Heroes and premiered in March, 2000, with the composer conducting, featured the U.S. Army Band & Chorus and honored the recipients of the U.S. Congressional Medal of Honor, with words based on a poem by Audie Murphy. She was commissioned to write an original composition (To Keep Thine Honor Bright) for the Bicentennial of the United States Military Academy at West Point and another (Victorious) for the United States Continental Army (now TRADOC) Band. Another very special commission (‘Tis A Gift) was for victims of TWA Flight 800 and to help heal the community of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, with music. Music is the most important thing she has ever done or will ever do in her life – composing, conducting, performing and speaking at a wide variety of musical events. Her enthusiasm and passion for music is evident in everything she writes." As you will recall, we provide the very BEST music EVER written, recorded, and performed from all genres. We hope that that the presented music is perfect by which to write, relax, work, clean your house, pay bills, attend to your garden, driving, etc. "Impact Classics" airs LIVE as follows: Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 Noon, ET (Repeated on the same days at 3:00 pm, 9:00 pm, Midnight, 3 am, 6 am, and 9 am) Enjoy!

For pure Political Theater, it will be hard to beat Pennsylvania during the 2020 campaign. The Keystone State will be, well, key to an Electoral College victory. President Donald Trump knows it. That may be why he has visited it six times since taking office, including to Montoursville in the north central part of the state on May 20. He won’t be alone, though, because the current Democratic frontrunner, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., was born in Scranton, represented neighboring Delaware in the Senate for decades and opened his official campaign headquarters in Philadelphia on May 18. Pennsylvania has long been a swing state in presidential politics, and Democrats’ ability to flip several Republican seats in 2018 paved the way for them retaking the majority in the House. CQ Roll Call’s White House reporter John Bennett was on the road at the president’s rally, interviewing voters, taking the temperature of a Republican friendly party of the state. A little later on in, we’ll switch gears for an At the Races segment and talk to politics reporter Simone Pathé about the politics of impeachment. It’s all the talk on Capitol Hill, but do Democrats want to go there? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Politics On ESPN Is A Bad Idea Today's topics include: Who knew?? That's what ESPN's president said yesterday after data came out showing ESPN fans don't want the network to cover politics...; next, Daniel Turner (executive director of Power The Future) joins the show to discuss the political fight that will be taking place over the next year for the 'blue collar worker'. Biden already made a campaign rally stop a few weeks ago, and yesterday Trump was in Montoursville, Pennsylvania; and finally, Cary Solomon & Chuck Konzelman (writers and directors for the movie, "Unplanned") join the show to talk about how their movie "Unplanned" was denied all theatrical movie showings in Canada, along with roadblocks they faced from advertising and distributing companies here in the U.S. simply due to the movie's pro-life stance.
