I talk about this at this time each year but it’s just so important - holiday timeand you may be about to take long road trip with the family. Time to give a littlethought to fatigue as it’s one of the three major killers on our roads – fatiguerelated accidents now account for more deaths than those attributed to drinkdriving. We now generally work longer hours. As such, fatigue is far moreprevalent so it’s no coincidence that the highest number of fatal crashes occur inthe afternoon peak period on a Friday. The end of the working day is not the timeto head off on that long drive into the country. Statistics show you’re four timesmore likely to have a fatal fatigue crash between the hours of 10pm and dawn –leave the next morning after a good sleep and a hearty breakfast when yourenergy levels are high. Carry plenty of water. Share the driving – one hour on -one hour off and take 15-minute break every two hours. For those new to this artist, he famously joined Fleetwood Mac at the beginning of its renaissance in 1975 and made many great contributions to that band as singer, guitarist, and songwriter. The B side is "The Trip" by Ralph Burns. Both songs are from the soundtrack of National Lampoon's movie Vacation. "Holiday Road" is therefore a non-album track, since it doesn't appear on any of Lindsay Buckingham's albums. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Warner Bros. Records factory sleeve. The vinyl has some very light scuffing, grading Near Mint. I'm delighted to report that the audio itself is pristine Mint, and so are the labels! Nancy recalls the time she learned the hard way that Kathy does not drive after ten pm. The sisters share a story about the first recorded road trip ever, road trip best practices for moms and share the best burger recipe.WHATS FOR DINNER:Steakhouse Burgers (from Once Upon a Chef)INGREDIENTS2 pieces white sandwich bread, crusts removed and cut into 1⁄4-inch pieces 1⁄3 cup milk21⁄2 teaspoons kosher salt1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper3 garlic cloves, minced11⁄2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce2 tablespoons ketchup3 pounds 80 to 85% lean ground beef3 scallions, white and green parts, very nely sliced (optional) 8 hamburger bunsINSTRUCTIONSPreheat the grill to high heat.In a large bowl, mash the bread and milk together with a fork until it forms a chunky paste. Add the salt, pepper, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup and mix well.Add the ground beef and scallions and break the meat up with your hands. Mix everything together until evenly combined. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and form compact balls. Flatten the balls into 3⁄4-inch patties about 41⁄2 inches across. Form a slight depression in the center of each patty to prevent the burgers from puffing up on the grill.Oil the grilling grates. Grill the burgers, covered, until nicely browned on the rst side, 2 to 4 minutes. Flip burgers and continue cooking for a few minutes more until desired doneness is reached. Before serving, toast the buns on the cooler side of the grill if desired.Freezer-Friendly Instructions: e uncooked burgers can be frozen for up to three months. (Freeze the burgers on a baking sheet or plate so their shape sets, then transfer them to a sealable plastic bag for easy storage.) Defrost the burgers overnight in the refrigerator prior to serving and then cook as directed.
