Embracing Your Season: Raising Littles and Understanding Teens with Paige Clingenpeel
On today's episode of Embracing Your Season, Paige welcomes Nirup Alphonse, lead pastor of LIFEGATE Church in Denver, devoted husband, and father of four boys. Nirup delivers a powerful message on parenting, emphasizing the importance of leading children toward their God-given identity. He challenges parents to go beyond raising independent kids and instead nurture humility - teaching them to recognize their role in shaping others and to take ownership of their lives. Paige and Nirup dig into formation through Godly discipleship, how studying our kids makes us better parents, and how orienting our family rhythms on Christ helps combat the passive (yet powerful) “discipleship” of culture. Paige's TakeawaysWhat are we orienting your family around?Even in the busiest seasons, keep returning to the rhythm of putting Jesus at the center of your family. When your family knows why Jesus is the focal point, you go through your days at a different speed and with a new perspective.Implement a family rhythmThis can look like any number of things but maybe it's implementing a family Sabbath or adding family devotions before or after school - the point is to keep to a rhythm that grounds your family and helps to keep you oriented on Christ.Love your kids into becomingKids will make foolish decisions, but that is NOT their identity. Highlight their God-given identity, and address them by calling out who God has designed them to be. Deconstruct the culture in real-timeWhile this takes work, we need to be dedicated as parents to ask our kids about the messages they see through media, peers, at school, etc., consistently. If we avoid these conversations, we're allowing the world to disciple our kids.Paige ClingenpeelQuestions About the Podcast? Our church is in a season of examining our culture, specifically our level of hospitality. In this episode, we're continuing the conversation on a culture of hospitality, diving into how Christians can connect with Gen Z and Gen Alpha. These younger generations are looking for more than just tradition—they're craving real community and deeper relationships in their faith journey. We discuss how we can open our doors (engaging our hearts) to them, creating spaces where genuine connections happen. Join us as we explore why building community matters more than ever and how it's shaping the way these generations experience faith.Hey if your interested in this subject. Nirup lived on 3 continents by 8th grade, got a degree in accounting, and then started a church in the most educated city in the USA. Oh, and he's an emigrant who just became an official US citizen a few weeks before this recording. Of course he's also a dad of 4 boys, a husband to a superhero, and we're sure he fights crime after hours when the kids are asleep. He's a legitimate contender for "the most interesting man in the world" but leverages all of his experience, exposure, and drive to build people and build the Church. Pay attention, he goes 0-60 quick. All of Nirup's linksNirup on IGLifeGate Denver

This morning we are continuing in our Fall Chapel Series Postures of Jesus. Today we focus on Jesus, the One who sleeps. Our speaker is Nirup Alphonse, Lead Pastor of LIFEGATE Church in Denver, Colorado....
I've had moments where I've listened back to some of the incredible conversations of the last two months and I can't help but want to share them again with you. The Places Between really is a community that exists to help people learn to THRIVE in transitions. You know the places between. We all can relate to transitioning in life. Sometimes it's for new work. Sometimes its within relationships or even WHERE we actually physically find ourselves… But when we don't believe the promises of God are real for us and relevant to where we are today, it can become SUPER hard to keep going and stay in our stories. Last week I talked about limiting beliefs. I think that's the first step to “THRIVING in TRANSITIONS”. Just because certain things or expectations of ours aren't happening, doesn't mean God doesn't love you. . . A lot of times he really desires to be in relationship with us. And like my friend Nirup said earlier this season if God were to show us what he was calling us into or where he was taking us, perhaps we'd be so freaked out that we wouldn't do it, or wouldn't believe that's where God wanted to take us. SO for today, I simply wanted to leave some reminders for you from friends along the journey who've also gotten to dance through life with Jesus at the center. Figuring out the next steps in life can be hard - AT ANY AGE - But rest assured We serve a loving Father who wants us to get to where we're supposed to get even MORE than we want to get there. . . So as you dive into more practical advice on identifying your calling and where you're going NEXT, take time to enjoy the journey…. Here's some highlights from the first season. ___________________ ENJOY THIS EPISODE?! Help us by sharing it with your friends!!! Like, Share, Subscribe and Rate our podcast! Waiting well doesn't have to be hard. Getting to do this in a community of people that encourages people to dive into life with one another as the “wait” continues is always worth it! Nirup Alphonse - "Just be Honest" // He's a pastor, one of the best communicators I know, a dad of 3 with a 4th on the way, and Founding Pastor of LIFEGATE Church in Denver, Colorado! it's was an absolute honor to host my friend Nirup Alphonse, for a conversation around new beginnings, transitions, embracing and following the call God put on his life; and all the stories between! Including some miraculous moments for LIFEGATE Church, insights into Prayer as a foundation and some incredibly practical advice from the wisdom of Mr Alphonse (Nirup's dad) about chasing your calling & what's the one thing you were made to do!?! If there's anything I can say about my conversation with Nirup, it's evident that God's faithfulness and hand is over LIFEGATE Church. I was super encouraged by our conversation and really believe that God's got incredible plans ahead for you and I as we journey through life and the places between. Find LIFEGATE CHURCH here! Or Visit LIFEGATE on Instagram, here. Find Nirup on Instagram, here! QUESTIONS for REFLECTION: As you might be in a season of transition or figuring out what it is you were made to do, try these steps: 1) Write down everything you want to do. 2) Write down a vision statement for your life. 3) Then, after you get the vision statement for your life, look back over the things you wrote down you want to do and ask yourself; "What's the one thing you can do that'll let you do everything you want to do?!?!" Is there a specific thing (not job) but thing you gravitate towards that you feel like you were MADE to do? 4) Take some time to pray into it today and thank God for the way he made you. He really is a good good father and longs to be included in the story of your life. He is so faithful, will you let him show you how faithful He is? 5) What about Nirup's story stood out most to you? Think about it and pray into the things that impacted you the most! _____ ENJOY THIS EPISODE?! Help us by sharing it with your friends!!! Like, Share, Subscribe and Rate our podcast! Nirup Alphonse has a powerful story this Sunday as we continue to explore the impact stories can have on our lives. We need each other and a big part of that is hearing others' stories. It's so much more than listening - it is an invitation to enter and experience them together. When we do this we discover what it means to move in compassion towards one another.Check out Eastown Online this Sunday at 9am & 10:15am.
Summer is here, restrictions are lifting and things seem to be returning to a more normal rhythm. We're ready to get back to life - but this time with greater intentionality. This Sunday we are talking about PACE. What would it look like to examine our once packed and overworked schedules? What if God is offering a different way?
Pastor Nirup Alphonse joins Sarah to talk about some of the unexpected things that have surfaced in fatherhood. Nirup shares stories from early parenthood, including how his cultural background impacted his perspective, and what he’s learned along the way—about not only diapering, but also what it looks like to be a daily disciple-maker with his kids. Welcome to our celebration of the resurrection. My name's Ryan. We get to celebrate the reason for hope today. That's why we gather. A few weeks ago, my friend, who's also a pastor in the area, Nirup, sent me a text message. It said: What's your morning look like MC? {Because people call me MC. Just kidding, they don't. I don't know why he said that?} Have you ever read a text message, got the words right, but the intent wrong? I wrote back to my buddy Nirup and said this: I get up at 5:45 and go on a run (treadmill in the basement). Then read scripture and pray. Then wake the kids up and get them ready to go on the bus. On late start days, which is Wednesday, I have time for additional reading. You? He responded to me: That was very descriptive. I more meant yo dawg my meeting canceled. You bored and wanna grab coffee later. He's right, I was descriptive. I broke it down on days. I gave timestamps. Wow! I had the words right, but I had the meaning wrong. I think when we hear resurrection, we have the words right, but we might get the meaning wrong. I think a lot of us, we hear the word resurrection, and we think, this is the good news, we get to go to heaven when we die. That's a part of the story, but it's a really small part of the story of resurrection. That's getting the text message just a little bit wrong. What I'd like to do this morning is look at John's gospel; if you have your Bible, you can open it to John 19. We're going to let John, one of Jesus's good friends, sort of reframe that word resurrection for us. Maybe build it out a little bit. Maybe we can get the text message right...
