When you catch a wishie, what do you yearn for? Today's book club episode might shift your “wish” hereafter to just one powerful offering. Tosha Silver's grassroots-to-bestselling book Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead is a cornerstone of my collection, one that changed my life when I first read it nearly a decade ago. The stories from this book were adapted from two years of Tosha's columns for the San Francisco Examiner, after she spent 25 years giving nearly 30,000 readings to people from all over the world. After OO became a self-published sensation, she got a traditional book deal and republished with Atria a few years later. More about Tosha: For the past 30 years, Tosha Silver has taught people around the world practical ways to align with Inner Love. She's the author of Outrageous Openness, Change Me Prayers, and It's Not Your Money. She particularly enjoys finding fresh, funny ways to embrace the Divine, while avoiding conventional jargon and cliches.
I just LOVE hearing from our listeners. This week's topic was inspired by a question I received about spiritual surrender. Oftentimes when we hear the word “surrender” we think of raising the white flag and giving up. But actually it is through the act of surrender that we truly connect with our power. Join me as we explore the art of letting go and how it can lead to a more joyful, purposeful and peaceful life. Episode highlights:Our higher spiritual selves are much wiser than our small, egoic minds. When we surrender we align with our higher selves and let go of the need to micromanage our lives from the level of ego. The power of spiritual surrender is in releasing attachments to outcomes and learning to flow with the current of life. For many people on the planet right now, fear rather than love is the guiding force of their lives. Spiritual surrender helps us to release fear and embrace loveYou can learn to have a different relationship with fear so it does not control your life.Trusting life means we live from a higher level of awareness where we know that everything in life serves a purpose, and we no longer judge certain experiences as “good” or “bad.” Connect and learn with me here:https://victoriashawintuitive.com/www.instagram.com/victoriashawintuitiveIf you would like to connect with other like-minded souls, take a deeper dive into the topics discussed in these episodes, or learn more about how to awaken to your own inner magnificence, please join us on in my Facebook group, Intuitive Connection Community here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/IntuitiveconnectioncommunityAre you ready to take the next steps in awakening your intuition? They have created a unique color analysis system that offers the most accurate color results available online. "It was freeing that I could actually go to the store and everything wasn't an option. That to me felt like freedom... it's this way that our brains work. We really need some limitations. And when it comes to shopping for clothes there are just so many options that some sort of boundaries are helpful for most of us." Join us for an inspiring discussion about the power of color that goes deeper than you might expect. Here are the details of this episode: Why we need to give ourselves permission to care about how we look on the outside (because it totally affects how we feel on the inside) The three key elements of fashion: color, shape & personal style (in that order of importance) The cure to "closet overwhelm" (hint: knowing your color palette is the key to simplifying & figuring out "what to wear") How genuine body acceptance starts with getting to know your body shape (and which clothes work for it) And a lot more... In this episode, I am excited to share the magic of Kate Winch, who I had the opportunity of working with at a workshop I attended several years ago. Kate Winch is a transformational speaker, EFT expert, Qoya dance teacher, and intuitive counselor. Join us as she shares her journey and all about EFT (tapping) with us.Key takeaways from this episode:Negative emotions get stored in the body creating a disruption in our energy systems. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), aka “tapping,” works with the energy meridians allowing us to remove stuck energy and get the energy flowing again. Tapping is a simple and accessible technique that is really empowering because anyone can learn to do it. You simply tap on a series of meridian points, while repeating key phrases: starting with what you would like to release and ending with what you would like to experience instead. Tapping allows us to honor our feelings and love and accept ourselves exactly as we are without judgment. Tapping is also a quick and effective way to calm yourself down when triggered.Matrix Reimprinting is a deeper level of EFT that works with the energy of the inner child to help resolve childhood wounds and replace them with adult wisdom. Unresolved issues will bring up feelings of anxiety or tension in the body. When a past issue or trauma has been resolved, the memory will no longer trigger a strong emotional response.Kate leads us through a quick round of tapping. link below to some tapping video resources from Kate.Connect with Kate Winch here:Website: http://katewinch.com/Free Tapping Resources from Kate: http://katewinch.com/resources/IG: https://www.instagram.com/tapintomagic/FB: https://www.facebook.com/Tap-Into-Magic-In-Your-Biz-And-Life-160968657251670/?_rdc=1&_rdrBook mentioned in this episode: Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead by Tosha SilverAdditional read: The Power of Focus: A Practical Guide to Emotional Self-Healing by Ann Weiser Cornell, Ph.D.Disclosure: I am an affiliate of Bookshop.org and I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.Resources and info for EMDR: https://www.emdria.org/

In Tosha Silver’s book Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead, she offers this idea: “When you say to the Universe, ‘Oh, this is terrible!’ the Universe responds with, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ But when you say to the Universe, ‘Oh, this is so wonderful!’ the Universe responds with, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet!’” I’d been literally walking around with anger and resentment, and this was a light bulb of insight that I needed for my own shift. Listen in to catch the whole story.

In Feb 2015, I did a 5-day symposium consisting of 25 interviews with powerful and inspiring women sharing their stories and advice for transcending life’s struggles, fears and doing it their own way. We got so much incredible feedback on the interviews, we decided to turn it into a podcast. At times during the interviews when you hear us refer to the series or interviews that have already been done, keep in mind these interviews have been repurposed and may not follow the original order – but stay tuned because we’ll be airing four each month on Mondays alternating with fresh new episodes called “Ask Liz” every Wednesday. Fun story about today's podcast. When I was doing this first series of interviews, I had Tosha scheduled on a weekday morning at 9am. We were trying to connect on Skype but something was up with her computer and she couldn't get the camera to work. Knowing she lives in the Bay Area and that I was heading up there that coming weekend, I threw it out there to see if she was available to do the interview in person - and that's what we ended up doing! Was so cool to meet her and get to spend some time together in addition to doing the interview. Her book Outrageous Openness is one of those that I flip back through every now and again when I want to reconnect with myself and remember how easy it is to access the divinity within me. About Tosha Silver: I grew up in Pennsylvania thinking one day I would be a rabbi, a lawyer, or a weathergirl. But fate seemed to have other ideas. I graduated from Yale with a degree in English literature but along the way developed an unexpected passion for metaphysics and yogic philosophy. One way or another, whether teaching, writing, or doing private sessions, I’ve spent the last thirty years helping people access the Divine Beloved within. That’s my biggest passion. I adore helping people access the Divine in deep, alive and authentic ways, without the usual dogma or jargon so common in this realm. I especially love the Universe’s unexpected and wild sense of humor.Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead, my first self-published book, gained a passionate audience around the world amongst people looking for fresh and vivid ways to open to the Divine. I’m thrilled that it was recently purchased by Atria Books who are bringing it to a wider audience. Most days I also write on my author page on Facebook so come follow me there for content-rich material. I truly enjoy helping folks from all over know the love affair that is always going on inside and outside with the Beloved. The connection and guidance from the Inner Divine begins to take the lead when it is sincerely invited….by anyone. The Universe is a Divine party. In this episode, Tosha shares: 1. How to create a personal relationship with the Divine. 2. Debunking popular “manifestation” theories. 3. Relating to religion and spirituality
History has demonstrated over and over again that humanity finds ways to utterly miss the punch line in God’s cosmic joke. But every now and then an author comes along who finds humor in the divine and in doing so unveils profound truths that are easily hidden under layers of fundamentalism. In this podcast, Tosha Silver reflects on her new book Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead.
