Get ready to rock and roll with the latest episode of Uncorked! Holli and Jeanna are joined by Helen Grace MacGregor, who is on a mission to bring people back home to their authentic selves. And guess what? She's owning her ADHD diagnosis like a true rockstar! Helen's journey has been one wild ride. With her tattoo that says "unfold your magic" in a spiral, she's come full circle in her life. From being a sparkly, intuitive child who felt the world's pain too deeply to going through what she calls the "wilderness years," she's now back to herself. She's done it all, tried different careers, and even studied Shiatsu (a Japanese form of healing) before committing to her true calling, writing. She lives and breathes words, and writing is her core. But here's the kicker: Helen discovered she had ADHD at 52, and it was a revelation. She didn't fit the classic picture of a loony boy running around, but when she learned more about ADHD and how it matched her brain, she rocked it! Now she helps people get out of their heads and into their bodies, finding calm and settling their nervous systems. She knows that true inner knowing comes from being connected heart and head, fully embodying yourself. Speaking of embodiment, Helen dives deep into why it's so important to be in your body. When you're not embodied, you're leaving behind 95% of your lifeforce and leaking power, which leads to burnout. So, how do you get back in your body? Follow what lights you up! Dance around, find your joy, and let it guide you back to your true self. In her upcoming book, "The Mid-Life Awakening," Helen shares her wisdom and experiences.  Get ready to be inspired, entertained, and uplifted as Holli, Jeanna, and Helen Grace MacGregor take you on an epic adventure of self-discovery, healing, and unleashing your inner magic. It's time to uncork your true potential and rock your authentic self! More about Helen Grace MacGregor: Helen Grace MacGregor is an endlessly curious lightworker by stealth! As an intuitive wordsmith, soul guide, facilitator, Qoya teacher and women's empowerment educator, she gently ripples out love through her words and work. Helen is the creator of The Magical Process and is passionate about gently empowering midlife women to express their innate creativity and embrace their unique magic. She does this through her books, podcast, introvert-friendly group gatherings and programmes offering seasonal, soulful embodiment and energy practices. Helen has spent almost two decades empowering women. Prior to that, she was an NHS health professional, which is where she learned the hard way how important it is to balance your head, heart AND soul. Her drive to understand what makes humans tick led her to train with some of the best embodiment and energy teachers in the western world, such as Rochelle Schiek, Sonia Choquette, Barefoot Doctor, Bruce Frantzis, Helen Noakes, Judith Hanson Lasater and Saul Goodman. After life threw her a shocking turning point in 2019, Helen recently followed her heart by relocating to West Sussex, UK, where she has found herself living somewhere that takes her breath away! She can often be found walking, cycling, singing, teaching, dancing, doing yoga, drinking coffee and writing. Sometimes she has to pinch herself because this is the life she once dreamed of... Helen believes that if we all learn to live in a way that lights up our soul, together we will create a brighter world. This week sees the start of a new series all about neurodiversity. I begin the conversation with Helen Grace McGregor who is a neurosparkly courage cultivator. Helen shares with us how she leads with intuition and what takes its place when she doesn't. We talk about being a child who was not seen or heard and how she looks back now to ask her younger self 'what do you need?' We consider the path of pursuing a diagnosis of ADHD and what the answer it gives us helps us to do. We look at the difference between Helen's wilderness years and her current third chapter and how her ADHD diagnosis has enabled her to find new ways to live and to look for validation in healthier places. This is a beautiful episode where Helen so eloquently describes her experience of being neurosparkly.About Helen:Helen Grace MacGregor is a Writer, Facilitator, Qoya teacher and Courage Cultivator. She is on a mission to gently encourage soulful and neurodiverse women to honour their call to create, through permission-rich practices that satisfy their soul and nourish their nervous system.Having created multiple programmes, written her own book and contributed to several others, Helen recently discovered that her multi-passionate, creative, should-free approach to life can be explained by the fact she's unknowingly lived with inattentive ADHD and dyspraxia for over 5 decades. Now, whilst editing her second book, The Midlife Awakening, Helen is combining her embodied knowledge and lived experiences into a new body of work to help women get what matters to them done. Even if like her, they've spent their lifetime struggling with shoulds, self-esteem and systems.Helen believes it's never too late to create, and your soul work doesn't have to wait.Which is why she's creating introvert-friendly spaces for soulful women to embrace their enoughness and express their innate creativity, so they can flourish in a world that equates worth with productivity. One simple, soulful, should-free step at a time.Website: https://www.gracespacesoul.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/grace.space.soulAbout Meghan:Meghan Field is an intersectional social justice activist, Qoya Teacher, Intuitive Embodiment and Practical Magic Coach, Moon Mna/Irish Celtic lineage practitioner and Owner of Sacred Kernow Retreats.  Meghan lives in England, where she works as a Director of Advance Charity and offers 1:1 and group well-being and empowerment classes, workshops and retreats for women. In her embodiment and empowerment work, Meghan supports women to remember who we are before the world told us who we should be. "We remember that our essence is Wise, Wild and Free!" (Qoya) One thing I've learned over the past few years is that freedom, security, play, and relaxation are  necessary to a good life. When I first attended a Qoya class, I was astounded to see that these principles are central to its philosophy. My guest today is Jessi Fiske, leader of Qoya-inspired Movement. She's also an organic farmer, business owner, and herbalist. Qoya is a movement founded by Rochelle Schieck in 2009. Learn more about the classes and the philosophy here. Jessi reminds us that embodiment does not necessarily feel good for everyone all the time, especially when you've been disconnected or in pain for a long time. If you've neglected your body or just the mind-body connection, feeling all of those parts when you have ignored them for so long can be painful. Jessi has a lot of wonderful advice for staying in touch and supporting your body and getting into a space where it feels safe to move your body in dance, and connect to the intuitive essence of being wise, wild, and free!   Follow Jessi on Instagram @jessi.lynn.fiske Follow LIFEYNESS on instagram @book_of _lifeyness

The single biggest hurdle to doing more embodied movement practice, for me personally, is the tight grip of urgency I often feel around time. Today on the podcast, I'm chatting with Rochelle Schieck, founder of the Qoya movement method. A big part of our conversation is exploring how we unwind the urgency of linear time & use the body as a portal to soul time. Rochelle & I have very different felt experiences of this shift away from urgent-linear-time into expansive-soul-time. I'm curious if you'll relate to either or perhaps experience it in another way. And as a result, they are constantly navigating the overwork – burnout cycle, sometimes without even knowing what's happening to their minds and bodies as a result. In my own quest for perfection and achievement, I put myself last, made myself smaller, and burned myself out over and over again. Throughout school and into my professional life, I would work myself to sickness (mental or physical), take a vacation or a leave of absence and then go right back to it. Over time and to cope, I began to study methods to manage my own severe anxiety through yoga and dance.I started to unravel my perfectionist, burnout-overachiever tendencies and help foster a deeper connection to my mind and body. I started to make space for a life that was less a pursuit of perfection and achievement and more a pursuit of grace, of spaciousness, of beauty, of meaning, of feeling everything, so that I could decide what was the next right action for me. At the same time, in my professional life, I began to create new ways of working because of the personal work I was doing myself. And vice versa, I started to apply the human-centered, design thinking methods I used to facilitate business problem solving to my personal questions. The more I practiced these methods, the more they worked their magic, and it's scientifically based magic at that! That's where Dreamgarten was born, at the intersection of my own experiments to recover from burnout and my realization that I was not alone in placing society's definition of success on my shoulders and seeking perfection and achievement to accomplish it. I began to use my methods at work as a leader with my team and with my friends in their personal endeavors. I believe that when you guide people to find what's inside themselves and encourage them to think about the human at the center of any problem, the creativity they bring to solving those problems is endless.https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahcwaylett/https://www.amazon.com/Burnout-Secret-Unlocking-Stress-Cycle/dp/198481706Xhttps://dreamgarten.com/

Despite being a heavy topic, Klyne has a spirit of hope and optimism and holds a beautiful vision of a more mother-centred world, reflected in the work she does with mothers. Single motherhood has taught Klyne so much about herself, about care, community, wellbeing and complex social and cultural issues relating to how we look after each other, and how we don't. Klyne's story is so important, for all of us who wish to know how to support single mother's better, and for single mothers to know they are not alone in many of the common struggles faced when mothering without support. She works in postpartum education and care, having completed trainings with Julia Jones from Newborn Mothers, Sophie Ward Koren from Milk & Seed and Rachelle Garcia Seliga from Innate Traditions. Leading on from this we consider intuition from that perspective and how accessing intuition can be a privilege if your basic safety needs are not met. We discuss her journey to Qoya and the differences in how Qoya is taught across the world and what she has learned from many teachers the world over. Finally Liz talks to us about the powerful work she is doing around body neutrality based on her journey of feeling empowered in herself. But after changing nearly everything in her life and realizing that she STILL didn't feel the wildness she most longed for, she set out on the heroine's descent to dismantle the cage that existed within and free her own Wise & Wild Woman.Through intuitive one-on-one coaching, Qoya-inspired movement, dreamwork, and art, Linda now helps other women embark on the heroine's journey to reclaim their wholeness and remember their inherent wild magic. This conversation is for midlife women who have been on the hero's journey for much of their lives, who have pleased and achieved and done everything "right", and have lost themselves in the process. This week I'm talking to friend and guest SYDNEY Zwicker, a Holistic Pelvic Care practitioner based in Colorado. Syd's one of those people who has that time traveller quality about her - wise beyond her years and has an ability to push boundaries and facilitate healing for women of all ages. We met when we were both doing our Qoya teacher training and she felt I'd known forever. Sydney came to her work through her own healing from sexual abuse in her late teens. In her words, she tried it all. From alcohol and meaningless sex, to talk therapy, dance therapy, jade eggs, energy healings, hitting a giant foam block with a baseball bat, screaming into a pillow, and everything in between. Though each time she removed a layer of the hurt, she always felt like there was something she couldn't reach physically. Then she discovered Holistic Pelvic Care, and her world opened. She was finally able to de-armour and heal and for the first time, she was able to release it from the physical body. Sydneys mission is to shed the stigma around the female lived experience through awareness, education, and holistic healing. Sydney shares with us the power of holistic pelvic care and the value of de-armoring ourselves. How society teaches us that our female bodies are dangerous and dirty yet as women of age we are expected to be empowered, godesses! We discuss the effects this has on fertility and how we can heal our relationship with our body - end the war with our physical self and teach our daughters to the same. We live most of our days in our minds. Thinking, analyzing, trying to do all the things we're supposed to do as adults in the world... ... and sometimes forget how to BE in OUR BODY. Movement can be a way to get there. Not all types of movements are embodiment practices but movements that help you move from your mind into your body can be exactly the medicine you were looking for to bring your eating more in alignment with who you truly are and the woman you want to become more of. This is what we talk about this week: movement as medicine for emotional eating. Because the more embodied you are, the more natural it becomes to eat in a way that feels good for your body as it is today. For many years as part of my healing journey from my complicated relationship with food and my body, it was very hard for me to make peace with movement and find ways to move my body that felt authentic to me... The Daring to Rest Podcast: Talks on Women Rising Up Rested

How would you describe your relationship with your body? Many of us struggle with feelings of disconnection or shame, and we only allow ourselves pleasure in the form of reward for or recovery from hard work. What if we could not just make peace with our bodies, but learn to love them and trust their wisdom? What if we made pleasure a regular practice and used it to fuel our creative work? What if we could harness the power of sensual living as a pathway to fulfillment? Mary Lofgren is the creator of The School of Sensual Living, a platform designed to help us become best friends with our bodies by savoring life through the senses. She is a self-described sensual savant, passionate writer, former burlesque sensation, licensed esthetician, experienced Qoya and yoga teacher, and advocate of sensual, embodied living. Mary believes that our bodies can be our greatest allies and most cherished works of art, and she combines her background in movement, mindfulness, beauty and feminine spirituality to help us experience the beauty that comes from being in a body. Today, Mary joins me to explain how a transformation around her body led her to burlesque and share her view of the experience as a sacrament to the divine feminine. She discusses her take on sensuality as a feminine approach to mindfulness, describing why an aversion to feeling keeps us from being fully present and how we have the tools for fulfillment within the wisdom of our own bodies. Listen in for Mary's insight on reframing pleasure as source, the fuel that inspires our creative work, and learn how The School of Sensual Living provides a deep level of body-based healing. Today on the Daring to Rest podcast I'm taking you inside the most recent tribe in the Daring to Rest Academy who just finished their Daring to Rest yoga nidra training a couple of months ago. I didn't realize it until we were all together, but each woman who shares her story on this episode have very different professional background and have journeyed through the Daring to Rest Academy quite differently too. From an intuitive astrologer and soul counselor, to a Qoya teacher and trainer who is also a reiki master, to a health psychology professor at one of the most prestigious women's college's in the United States. I love that rest brought us together, and I hope you'll enjoy hearing about the creative ways these women are bringing to fruition and dreaming about sharing the message of rest. The Daring to Rest Academy started as a dream I had to create an online and easy way for women around the world to come together, in sisterhood, to learn how to feel like a well-rested woman, lead like a well-rested woman, and share the message of rest with others. As you'll learn in this episode, inside the Academy we train you in yoga nidra meditation, the Daring to Rest method, and so much more that can't be easily laid out in a bullet pointed list. It is urgent to have rest whisperers - guides - in our culture planting the seeds of rest. Rest gives us resilience, presence and so many long-term sustainable tools to feel more peaceful. And I believe in my bones that this yoga nidra kind of deep peace within will trickle up to a more peaceful, less-inflamed world. As Benita shared on the podcast, "I just think how revolutionary it would be if our heads of state started their meetings off with rest, and all our college classes did that too. Imagine how much clarity and power we would have if we were able to step into all the places we come together with a pause." Perhaps you're considering enrolling in the Daring to Rest Academy, but you'd like to know more about what to expect. Maybe you're curious how you might incorporate yoga nidra into the work you already do. On today's episode of the Daring to Rest Podcast, we're taking you inside the Daring to Rest Academy with a few members of Tribe 2. Melissa Barnet, Jo Blackman, Cheri Brown and Barbara Dopfer have each taken the training, adding their own flavor to the practice and subsequently sharing the gift of yoga nidra with the world. Melissa has begun incorporating yoga nidra into her coaching practice, Cheri has added it to the offerings at her wellness center, and Jo and Barbara are making it an integral part of their retreats and classes. Today, Melissa, Jo, Cheri and Barbara join me to take you inside the Daring to Rest Academy, sharing what inspired them to enroll and what to expect when you join. We discuss the community of love and support that is an integral part of the program and the reasons why aspiring facilitators are encouraged to teach yoga nidra from a rested place. Jo and Melissa explain how they ‘practice what they teach' in the waking world, specifically as mothers. Cheri describes her passion to teach yoga nidra to chronically depleted caretakers and Barbara offers insight on the connection between rest and women's empowerment.
