We really can't talk about making more sales and calling in more clients inside of our businesses without at least dabbling into money mindset. This is a little crash course for you that I pulled from my program, Aligned Sales. I added this as one of the bonus modules because I wanted everyone who takes the program to have an understanding of the basics when it comes to money mindset and ultimately expanding our consciousness (and our capacity) to receive more. And I want you, too, to begin prioritizing your money mindset and relationship with money so your business and YOU can thrive. If you just focused on the little 3 step process I share in this video, so much would change. Have fun with this and remember, it's a journey that never ends. To purchase Aligned Sales click here!!

Our healing conversations have been consistently beautiful, challenge our conditioned perspectives on healing, and invite us to embrace diverse and individualized paths. Today's chat with Kate Orlofsky is no different. Kate is an ecologist, dog musher, and wilderness enthusiast living in rural Alaska. Kate has participated in almost everything we offer at the School of Sacred Embodiment over the last few years and she shares how her anxiety has decreased, she's been able to release her tendency to control, and now uses her voice to openly express her desires. We discuss the evolving nature of healing and how Kate is a big believer in the power of movement for processing emotions. She also explains why living in embodiment and having a greater awareness and respect for her body has significantly enhanced how she shows up in the world. In episode 447 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss: (4:56) Kate's Holy Consistency and what it means to her (9:18) Why the layers of healing take time and how to face them with grace (15:14) The relationship between perfectionism and anxiety (20:12) Finding the courage to make significant life choices (24:30) The role of titration, integration, and community in Kate's healing process (31:21) The nonlinear nature of healing and tips for finding the right community for you (34:28) Kate's experience as a lifelong athlete and how her physicality meets her embodiment practices Resources mentioned in the episode: It's Not Your Money by Tosha Silver Episode 378: How to Pray & Develop Your Prayer Practice Episode 336: Divesting from Perfectionism with Jess Fish Work with me: NEW! In this episode, Julia, Westley, and Rev. Dr. Carter discuss the intersections of Christian belief and economic practice. They examine the uncomfortable truism that to create an equitable economy some people will have to be willing to have less money! Why this is so difficult for people to accept (spoiler - people love money!). Lastly, they end their conversation exploring how we can grow to see money as a gift to be shared rather than something to be horded. Abundance was my word of 2019. I'd love to tell you I meant abundance in the broadest possible sense, appreciating the bounty already in my life, financial and otherwise. But mostly, my theme was about money. Specifically: to surpass one million dollars in revenue by the end of the year. I was going to build the sexiest small business rocket ship to achieve time-and-money escape velocity with my Delightfully Tiny Team. *Today's post is a crossover from Rolling in D
“As long as we settle for thinking inside the brain, we'll remain bound by the limits of that organ. But when we reach outside it with intention and skill, our thinking can be transformed. It can become as dynamic as our bodies, as airy as our spaces, as rich as our relationships—as capacious as the whole wide world.” —Annie Murphy Paul, The Extended Mind In this second half of a two-part solo series, I'm sharing 6 more strategies that have helped me build (and trust) my intuition at increasingly subtle levels. Lessons 11 through 20 in my “40 Lessons in 40 Years” series all stem from one overarching theme: lead with curiosity. When I get curious with myself and the world around me, there's so much potential for compassion, healing, and discovery. In this episode, I reflect on some of my deepest liberatory practices, including not taking things personally, prioritizing people who can respect me, and honoring the orientation of my soul. All of the lessons mentioned in this series are extracted from lived experiences, either my own or those around me, so I'd love to hear what resonates with you. See you back here next week for lessons number 21 to 30! In episode 438 of the Embodied Podcast we discuss: (0:47) Lesson #11: Allowing other people to have their own experiences is one of the most liberating practices that any of us can ever have. (4:32) Lesson #12: Don't take things personally, or make things about you. (7:03) Lesson #13: Chronological age doesn't guarantee or determine as much as we think it should, would or does towards people's maturity. (8:33) Lesson #14: None of us should waste our time with people who don't respect us. (10:32) Lesson #15: Give the most time to people who see, honor, cherish, revere, and respect you for who you really are. (15:27) Lesson #16: If any part of your identity is part of a norm, it's very important for you to learn about the lived experiences, and gain some insight and competence about the experiences of those who aren't part of the same norm that you are. (18:22) Lesson #17: Money is important for survival, but it ain't all that. (20:27) Lesson #18: Younger souls are here to manifest and older souls are here to serve God. (24:10) Lesson #19: Accepting who and where you are, and accepting responsibility for your life, is also a liberatory practice. (26:32) Lesson #20: Sometimes it's helpful to learn the rules so you can break them. Your calling is a journey and process of growth, discovery and evolution. It's not a fixed destination that you reach then you're done (phew! got my purpose - sorted!). Rather it's a dynamic, non-linear (sometimes nonsensical and messy) ongoing process of exploration. This journey requires you trust in your inner guidance, which will lead you to the next right step (and then the next; and the one after that). I share in this episode how my own journey of finding and following my calling is changing, the shift occurring as I strive less and surrender more, and a deeper level of acceptance and peace I am finding in my journey. I also share how to prepare yourself for the journey ahead. Remember, the universe is conspiring in your favour and orchestrating things for you to live your divine plan and purpose. When you catch a wishie, what do you yearn for? Today's book club episode might shift your “wish” hereafter to just one powerful offering. Tosha Silver's grassroots-to-bestselling book Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead is a cornerstone of my collection, one that changed my life when I first read it nearly a decade ago. The stories from this book were adapted from two years of Tosha's columns for the San Francisco Examiner, after she spent 25 years giving nearly 30,000 readings to people from all over the world. After OO became a self-published sensation, she got a traditional book deal and republished with Atria a few years later. More about Tosha: For the past 30 years, Tosha Silver has taught people around the world practical ways to align with Inner Love. She's the author of Outrageous Openness, Change Me Prayers, and It's Not Your Money. She particularly enjoys finding fresh, funny ways to embrace the Divine, while avoiding conventional jargon and cliches.

A few weeks ago, I rearranged my office space to accommodate more musical recording. I'm in a pretty small room, so anything I can do to utilize space more efficiently is a tremendous help. I also have a difficult time sorting and giving things away or selling them. I have a 2000 Ford van sitting in the driveway that hasn't run in over a year and it's been waiting for me to just decide where it goes and make arrangements to take it there. Yesterday, I donated it to a locela charity through Vehicles for Charity. I don't think my donation will amount to much, but I don't have to pay to have it towed away, and one of my favorite organizations might get a few hundred bucks out of the deal. I can also write off the contribution. Just that one bit of movement has gotten me more energized to let go of stuff. Music and recording equipment I no longer use or need? Gone! My dad's remaining book collection that I have no interest in reading? Gone! Every piece of paper I've collected in the past eleven years? Gone? The purge isn't limited to the actual world. My digital world is getting the treatment, too. I started by leaving the Facebook Groups I'm no longer interested in. And then added unsubscribing from email lists that I haven't opened messages from in over a year. I'm already feeling a big shift from those last two. The number of times my phone buzzes with email notifications has been cut drastically. My focus has improved, and I'm getting more done. Tad Hargrave at Marketing for Hippies and Tosha Silver, who wrote It's Not Your Money are both advocates for starting any process of creating or attracting new opportunities with a thorough house cleaning. I can now understand the wisdom of this. #organizing #decluttering #cleaningmotivation --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/franklin-taggart9/message

I could talk about money mindset all day long! It's a favorite part of business, and it can also be a challenging part. My friend, Sheila Hansen, is the perfect person to guide a discussion on this topic, so I am so excited to have her on this episode of the podcast. Here are the main things discussed in this episode: Feeling the emotions of entrepreneurship and money How our beliefs about money can be traced back to childhood Navigating debt (taking on debt for business, etc.) Mindset around paying taxes Handling processing fees Scarcity mindset and upper lilmits Working through the time = money belief Excuses and other money mindset struggles Book recommendations Where to start if you are new to working on your money mindset Connect with Sheila on social media @sheila.hansen.cpa Book recommendations mentioned in this episode: Rich AF by Amanda Frances, It's Not Your Money by Tosha Silver, The Go Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann Chilled Freezer Meals: 10% off your first order with the code MADDIE. Going with the flow and getting out of the hustle, and why self love is a CRUCIAL part of reaching your goals and getting the things you desire. (Scroll to the bottom for show notes) Last Monday, I decided to take a couple of weeks off from social media and the constant posting. I listened to an Abraham Hicks podcast about putting time between the asking of the question and the answer, and it really shifted how I see things. The episode talked about that as humans we go around all day and ask questions and expect an immediate answer. But things need to line up for us to understand the answer and items need to be put in place so the answer we receive makes sense. I've been working on this online business for a long time and I've learned SO much and come so far, but because I tend to look forward (and let's be honest, constantly compare myself to people who are “more successful” than me), my vibration isn't lined up with what I want and I stay stuck. I also had a psychic reading with my friend Tana, and she told me my guides are basically asking me to pause and settle for a bit. They said that if I can rest in where I can be of service RIGHT NOW, the answers that are eluding me will come. And also that I need to calm my vibration and get into the receiving mode. After listening to this podcast and the reading I had with Tana, I decided to go with the flow and chill for a little while. And already answers have been showing themselves to me. I don't know what to do with them just yet, but I know if I relax into them it will start to make sense. I also decided to sit tight and revel in all of the amazing things I have RIGHT now, and the ways I am able to serve. So while it's not my dream business yet… it is on its way and I have a lot of amazing blessings in my current physical reality. I am also already serving and helping a lot of people. I have been so focused on creating content consistently (as in, daily… sometimes even multiple times a day) the magic of my particular message gets lost and sacrificed for content output. And while it may feel like that's how we hack the algorithm, I think it's actually super counter productive for soul aligned businesses. Because your soul clients can feel what's missing, even if they can't quite name it. And now a life changing book that brought me to do this episode... "It's Not Your Money" by Tosha Silver on here, but I AM OBSESSED. I am also really becoming “anti manifestation” culture (although maybe I don't need to be anti anything). I know vision boards and writing down exactly what you want works for a lot of people, and maybe there's a place and energy type for it. But for me, it feels exhausting, and like I'm constantly telling the universe exactly what I want (but let's be real, I'm not entirely sure exactly what I want), not receiving it, stressing about it... and the universe is over here like" DUDE maybe that's not what you're meant to have." INYM is all about surrendering to the divine flow so God can use you however he sees fit, and how to become a conduit for source. Let go of the tunnel vision and open yourself up to the divine flow. This was a huge "aha" moment that's helped me recognize the need to go with the flow. I really want to let go of societies idea of “success”. We've been taught for decades to work as hard as you possibly can and what you want will come. But so often, that completely goes against the law of attraction. When you're focused so much on what you don't have and beating your head against the wall to try and make it happen, you actually push it further away from you. This is true for the old adage of “work hard and things will come to you” as well as “ask for every fucking specific thing, or the universe will be confused”. And in the words of Tosha Silver… as if the all knowing Goddess herself doesn't know what you need. NOW... Here's my tips for you, wonderful reader!
Honing your intuition is one of the most important parts of getting clear on who you are, what you want, and where you're headed. Without it, you're like a GPS with bad reception — you're not going to get very clear guidance, and you may end up driving in circles. But that takes time and practice, so sometimes it's nice to piggyback off of another GPS you can trust, even if it's just long enough to check your directions. In that spirit, we're back with another Message from the Universe episode for you! Tune in if you need a little clarity, guidance, or just a fun pick-me-up. Today we pulled a few cards from The Enchanted Map deck by Colette Baron-Reid. One or all has a message for you — come find out what it is! We also started out this episode with some fun stories we've heard lately from clients about how the Universe showed up for them. How to handle your spiritual development when people around you don't understand. (Scroll to the bottom for the show notes) Growing and other's around you are triggered? Keep reading. Hello, loves! A lot of my client's come to me and say “I'm growing, and it feels really good. But then I have someone in my life who kinda pulls me down, or they struggle with the newer version of myself, and it drags me back down into previous habits.” So the question is… How do I grow when people I love and care about around me aren't growing? (Or at least, aren't growing at a similar pace) You've probably heard that everyone is a mirror. Everyone you encounter in your life is an opportunity to see something inside yourself that you still need to heal. And while I believe this to be absolutely true… I also believe that people (especially stagnant people… and there's no shame in that it's just their journey) hold us up to the version of us they know best. So if you have a lot of people in your life that met you a while back before you began to grow, (I believe) they have that version of you burned subconsciously in their heads. When you start to do things differently, it triggers them. And sometimes, their response triggers YOU. This may make you want to fall back into that old version of you to keep them happy or keep the peace. I'm here to tell you… DON'T. I'm working through a really powerful book right now, called It's Not Your Money by Tosha Silver. And while it's about letting go of money hangups, I think this part is very relevant here. There's a prayer I say every day, and part of it is “let everything that needs to go, go. Let everything that needs to come, come.” And this applies to growth alongside people as well. People are in our lives, almost as a contract. When you meet someone, they might stay for 5 minutes or 50 years, but I believe there was a predetermined contract of how long and what lessons would be exchanged. But as humans, we tend to cling to people for numerous reasons… self identification, ego, fear, worthiness… and sometimes we hold on far longer than we need to. What I'm saying is… grow anyway. The people that are meant for you will stick around. Those who aren't will fall away. It is all for your highest good, so don't you dare censor your growth one bit. Now you might be thinking, ”That's great Jen. But what about my mom? What about my husband?” This can be far more challenging. This often requires tools (and probably more contracted lessons) rather than letting these people fall away. (Although I will say, no one DESERVES access to you just because they're blood.) Let's talk growing around family and partners. So let's say you've cleaned house… let go of old friends who no longer serve you, invited new ones in who are more aligned… and you're left with a husband who thinks your nuts and a mom who wishes you could “just be the way you used to be.” Da da da DAAAA! Enter: TOOLS. Here's 5 things to stop drop and do in the face of your growth challenging someone you love: Practice compassion. Remember that they love you, from where they are and in the capacity they know. The more compassionate you are, the more it will rub off onto them and help THEIR healing process, as well as yours.Let go of responsibility. No matter how much you love someone, you are not responsible for them. Not their lives, not their feelings… none of it. So let it go. You can either remind yourself or directly tell them “I'm doing me, so I can be better for everyone around me. I'm sorry if that triggers you, but this is my journey. I love you and I support your journey.”Release attachment. Another powerful lesson from the book I'm reading… aparigraha (non attachment, non clinging, non grasping). Release attachment to the outcome, to how you “THINK” things should be. All of it. Love them but don't attach to them. I think this is one of the hardest lessons as humans.

The house in your business consists of your email inbox, your CRM, task managers, calendar, etc. If these things are cluttered to the point where you dread looking at them, you need to clean house before you enter the next phase of your business. You want to put the same intentional systems into your personal life and family routines that you do into your business. Create systems for what you'll eat for dinner every night, how you'll split household duties with your partner, and even how you manage your family calendar. It might sound boring, but having all these systems implemented prevents decision fatigue and dramatically reduces stress (and friction!) at home! One of the toughest parts of adulting is understanding that worthwhile change and abundance takes time. You have to strength train for months before you see your physique change, you have to spend time deep cleaning before the daily maintenance is fast and easy. Have faith that you're implementing the right systems and routines that will pay off in the long run. SHE'S A WHOLE ENTIRE WIFE, Y'ALL. This week, the vortex holds the magical story of Maya's WEDDING DAY and her MARRIAGE STORY. Soul sisters Maya and Elle start us off with some banter about abundance & money mindset, and the idea of being open to receive. Then, we get INTO IT. Maya tells us all about what it's like to be a whole freakin' bride. The co-hosts discuss what it means to actively rewrite society's image of what marriage and womanhood traditionally looks like. We live to break those patterns, baby. Then, every micro detail of the wedding day is immortalized in sweet Maya's recount of the magical day that was 2/22/22. Ooo's + ahhh's are offered by Elle, aaaaand, you guessed it - a magical card pull puts a cherry on top of this week's ep! I know a lot of you are already well aboard the “woo woo” train. You booked yourself a ticket on a day when Mercury wasn't in retrograde, and you're chilling in a first-class compartment that you saged before unpacking your crystals. Some of you probably nervously boarded the train, wanting to believe more in the mysteries of the Universe, but skeptical of where it's going to take you (or if it'll take you anywhere). And a few of you are shouting at me from the platform like, “Shut up and just do what I came here for! Teach me how to get a job I love, thanks!!” (I can totally do that … but I'd rather teach you how to manifest one. All aboard.
I'm rereading a book I first picked up two years ago, Tosha Silver's It's Not Your Money, and I'm finding it's just as powerful now as it was then. The title itself is a good place to start. It sums up the idea that nothing on this planet is truly “ours” in a permanent way. We are merely caretakers for the time being. You may think the money sitting in the bank under your name is yours, that the home you stay in belongs to you, but it doesn't. Everything, EVERYTHING on this planet belongs to the divine beloved. At least, that's the concept Tosha is touting. More in this week's post. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/another-world-is-probable/support

The Abundance Prayer by Tosha Silver will change your life. Literally within 24 hours I began to see the signs of abundance in my marriage, life, friendships, and myself. The best way to use this prayer is to say it first thing in the morning for the next 30 days. Listen to it and each time -- let a different part of the prayer sink in. The beauty of this prayer is how each day you will discover something new. Let me know how it's working out for you--I'd love for you to share you new discovered abundance. This is an excerpt from Tosha Silver's book, It's Not Your Money. The Abundance Prayer Divine Beloved, allow me to give with complete ease and abundance knowing you are the unlimited source of all. Let me be an easy, open conduit for your prosperity. Let me trust that all my own needs are always met in amazing ways and it's safe to give freely as my heart guides. And equally, please let me feel wildly open to receiving. May I know my own value, beauty, and worthiness without question. Let me allow others the supreme pleasure of giving to me. May I feel worthy to receive in every possible way. Change me into someone who can fully love, forgive, and accept myself…so I may carry your light without restriction. Let everything that needs to go, go.Let everything that needs to come, come.I am utterly your own. You are me. I am you. We are one. All is well. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nandoism/support
Do you give freely of yourself, but find it difficult to accept love, compliments, help from others? Try saying this prayer every morning and see how your life, heart and mind open to all the gifts the universe has to offer. The Divine Abundance Change Me prayer is found in the book "It's Not Your Money" by Tosha Silver. I highly reccommend reading it, or as I am doing, listening to it. I got mine on audible and it is read by the author. Hearing her words in her voice is somehow both comforting and soul stirring. Being able to replay the parts I need to listen to again, to sit with to come to full understanding has been the difference in hearing and truly knowing what the words mean so that I can creating a place in my world where they can live within and guide me. Hey everyone and welcome to the MC Bitesize Book Review with Shirley Blanch from Get Mindful and Mindset Coach Amanda O'Rourke. In this series we're going to be taking a look at some of the best self-help books out there to help you find the right one for you, depending on the area in your life you want to focus on. We'll tell you what each book is about, why we think it deserves to be on your bookshelf, and how you can use this information to make real changes in your life. In this episode, we look at the book ‘It's Not Your Money' by Tosha Silver in which she looks at an alternative way to manifest abundance. Instead of grasping and chasing, what if we offered everything--our money (or lack of it), our triumphs, our problems, our desires--fully back to Love? What if this offering itself was actually the secret to abundance?
Failing sucks. There's no way around it. Yet through some of the most epic failures come some of the greatest successes. This solo episode was recorded with lots of heart and the intention of helping you raise what I'm calling your Prosperity Quotient, or PQ. Really this is about overcoming feelings of lack, struggles with worthiness and not good enough, as it relates to your money, finances and overall feeling of prosperity. If you prefer a visual version, do check my episode out on YouTube, where all episodes are posted. Some of the takeaways from this episode are: The root of all lack consciousness and fear or discomfort with prosperity comes from a lack of worthiness. I'm here to remind you that you are worthy for no other reason then you are a human being. You do not need to prove your worthiness nor is it something that fluctuates. What you appreciate, appreciates. By focusing on where and how you do feel prosperous will help call forth more prosperity. Not sure this is true? Try doing this for a week and see what happens. Like you, money is energy. How you feel about this energy has everything to do with the money and prosperity you are attracting or repelling. The great news is that all of this can be changed with focused intention and attention. If you struggle with underarning, self-debting or discomfort charging for your services, I highly recommend the books Money A Love Story, by Kate Northrup, Overcoming Underearning and Sacred Success, by Barbara Stanny (coming soon on this podcast) and It's Not Your Money, by Tosha Silver. If i can support you at all on your prosperity journey, please reach out anytime. It is my intention to be part of the cosmic shift around prosperity, worthiness and helping us all to claim our natural abundance. As always, this community is a sacred and safe space for you to evolve and expand in to your highest self. Please share your insights, wisdom, comments, thoughts and anything you are pondering or even grappling with. I love hearing from you and learning how you are being your truest, you-est you. Most women consider menopause as a stage of loss—we lose our youth, our beauty, our relevancy, and our sexuality. Because of the beliefs that were programmed into our brain since childhood, we start believing that you lose your identity upon reaching the menopausal period. However, that doesn't mean we have to stop growing and living a spark-filled life. In this week's podcast episode, I talk with Annabel Wilson, founder, and director of Living Ashram. Five years ago, she embarked on an incredible journey of awakening to purpose. On this journey, she found the key to living a juicy, spark-filled life which she willingly shares through the Living Ashram app. In our conversation, we talked about how beliefs shape our reality, the importance of examining our beliefs, about spiritual longing, guilt and shame and its consequences, the essence of forgiveness, and how to find out what your core values are. If you are someone who wants to continue blazing your own path after menopause and live a purposeful life, this episode is for you. Listen to this podcast and level up your life now! What's Discussed in This Episode: Annabel's journey towards the creation of the Living Ashram app [05:05] Her goal of becoming the healthiest version of herself [06:13] The real journey towards finding purpose starts at home [08:18] What the Living Ashram app is about [09:12] How Annabel awakened to her purpose [11:08] The meaning of breakthrough and its relevance to finding purpose [12:46] Examining your beliefs can give you that breakthrough [14:20] Awakening to your purpose brings back spirituality [16:42] The real journey home is to the healthiest version of yourself [20:32] Stop beating yourself up and start forgiving yourself [22:55] Suffering is optional [24:20] Feel the darkness, but never close [26:37] The essence of forgiveness and gratitude practice [28:14] Menopause and how it affects women's perspective and fears [30:01] The MENO-Mate pillars; How menopause affects women's sexuality [32:12] Our beliefs shape our reality [34:22] Embrace your femininity [35:43] Menopause is the beginning of freedom [39:27] Finding the joy in what you do [41:18] Our outside world is a reflection of who we are [43:28] How to figure out our core values [45:20] Identifying where you feel in lack of [45:57] Reflecting on frustrating moments can unlock your core values [47:57] We need to move past money shame [49:00] Your emotions are your guide to help you decide what you do next [50:20] Listen to your emotions and unanswered needs [52:08] Start meeting our own needs [53:02] Working with your inner child [54:53] Schizophrenia and the shadow self [56:29] What happens to you doesn't define who you are [58:21] People need to have the self-awareness to know that they need help [59:46] Awakening to your purpose is a daily effort, not a one-time high [1:02:07] About the Guest: Annabel Wilson is the founder and director of Living Ashram. Formerly the managing partner of Athena Equity Partners, she devoted her time to finding the antidote to universal disconnection, anxiety, fear, suffering, and overall lack of wellbeing. Her wish is for humanity to stop beating themselves up and start forgiving themselves. She is also dedicated to helping people become the healthiest version of themselves through the Living Ashram. Two weeks ago, Rachel whipped out one of her woo-woo oracle decks and pulled a few cards for all of us. We got so many comments and messages saying how much you all liked it that we’ve decided to make it an every-other-Tuesday thing, at least while we’re all stuck in quarantine! In times like these, it can be especially hard to tune in to your intuition and receive guidance. Fear and uncertainty create a LOT of noise, both internally and externally! And, ironically, it’s exactly when we’re most afraid and unsure that we most need to be able to receive wisdom and inspiration. So, if you’re having a hard time getting calm, quieting your mind, and tuning in (understandable, if so!), we’re doing what witches do best and conjuring a message from the Universe for you today. We pulled 3 cards from one of our oracle card decks, and one of them has a message about something you need help with or answers about! Click here to see the cards, as well as read the description of each! After you listen, come leave a comment to share which card you got and how the message landed with you! This episode felt especially important for me to record given the crisis going on around the planet. My intention is to help you to find ways to stay deeply connected to your own heart wisdom, inner guidance and a peaceful grounded space of calm and knowing that all is well. I shared some of my favorite books, all aimed at having you wake up fully to who you really are and how this beautiful planet is all about love. The books are spiritual in nature and will hopefully give you something highly engaging and productive to do during a time of slowing down. I see what's happening right now as a real call to action from Mother Earth herself, reminding us to look inward and remember we are all connected to the same love frequency, to slow down and appreciate what we do have and to be present for those we love and send love to those we don't know because we're all covered in the same blanket of oneness. Books I reccommended; Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh The Divine Matrix by Gregg Braden The Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer by Gregg Braden The Light Between Us by Laura Lynn Jackson SIgns - The Language of the Universe by Laura Lynn Jackson The Intention Experiment by Lynn McTaggart The Surrender Experiment by Michael Singer The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer It's Not Your Money by Tosha Silver The Miracle Equation by Hal Elrod Get a PhD in YOU by Julie Reisler Other ways to stay connected, in community and out of fear is to be in nature as often as possible and surround yourself with colors, clothing and objects that make you feel grounded, such as wearing quartz crystals, mala beads, colors that feel soothing and objects that have deep meaning. Please mind your mind! I'm not saying to stick your head in the sand, but be aware that there is a lot of fear threaded in what's being pumped out of the media. It makes headline news to sensationalize what's happening. You can read what's going on at The Skimm, or talk to trusted friends who can keep you updated. You staying in a calm and centered place will help you to feel good, boost your own immunity and have a lot more light to shine. When I first met Amanda, she was lugging around shame like it was an anvil strapped to her back. In her mind, she didn’t deserve to feel light or free because she’d left her marriage of almost 20 years in a way that she felt very guilty about. But as long as she was carrying guilt and shame like a penance, she wasn’t able to pick anything else up. It’s hard to move on with your life, or get clear about who you are on a deeper level, if you’re not allowed to forgive yourself. So, that’s what she had to learn how to do. And that’s what Amanda and I got in to during this month’s new interview with a normal person! We talked about … Why she was ashamed about how she left her marriage, and why she felt unable to let that shame go for a long time. The difference between letting yourself off the hook for bad behavior (something you probably shouldn’t be doing) and genuinely forgiving yourself (something you definitely should do). How forgiving herself allowed her to heal the issues that caused her marriage to dissolve, in the first place. The newfound direction and purpose she found in her career once she was finally able to make peace with herself. How she’s transitioning this month from her full-time job as director of a non-profit to full-time self-employment. After you listen come leave a comment to share how Amanda’s wisdom resonated with you! MORE ABOUT AMANDA At 48, Amanda Michaelis is finally starting to figure out who she is. Amanda's shift in her life occurred after the end of an almost-20-year marriage. During that time, she dove deep and discovered who she was, what she valued, and how she was meant to live her life. Her career has led her into the healthcare industry; a large, family-owned and operated regional business; and most recently the nonprofit world. Amanda is currently participating in an open, transparent transition process with her Board of Directors to move out of her current organizational leadership role, and into the world of self-employment as a coach and facilitator in her own business called, appropriately enough, Shift Your Perspective. In addition, she is deeply committed to developing leaders in her community. She is in her sixth year facilitating both the adult and junior Community Leadership Programs in her town. Her goal these days is to like herself today more than yesterday. IF YOU LIKED THIS EPISODE, LISTEN TO THESE NEXT Bonus Book Club! Outrageous Openness by Tosha Silver (November 2018) Bonus Book Club! Calling all fellow bookworms, library nerds, and general lovers of literature — it’s time for another book club episode of the podcast! Whenever there are five Fridays in a month, we devote the extra Friday to a book that we can’t get enough of. In this episode, we’re diving into the #1 New York Times bestseller E-Squared by Pam Grout. We’ve recommended this book to so many people over the years because it bridges the gap between science and spirituality in a fun, easy-to-do way. If you really want to believe in something—call it the Universe, infinite intelligence, whatever!—but are skeptical, or just can’t find enough proof to allow you to relax, you’re going to dig this episode. We talked about … Why religion and believing in a higher power are totally separate things. How your thoughts create your reality, 100% of the time. 3 experiments you can do to prove that an infinitely intelligent force exists, and that you have the power to influence it. Lots of stories from us, and our clients, that prove these experiments work! After you’ve listened, leave us a comment to let us know which nuggets of wisdom from this book resonated with you most, and what experiments you’re going to try! "Let It Be Easy, Let It Be Fun" About Today's Guest Jenny Blake is the founder of Pivot Method, a growth strategy company that helps forward-thinking individuals and organizations map what’s next. She is an international keynote speaker, and the author of Pivot: The Only Move That Matters is Your Next One, which won the Axiom Best Business Books Award in the careers category. Jenny also hosts the popular Pivot Podcast, which CNBC listed among 6 podcasts to make you smarter about your career, and Entrepreneur selected as one of the top 20 female-hosted business podcasts. After two years at a technology start-up in Silicon Valley, followed by five years at Google in Training and Career Development, Jenny moved to New York City in 2011 where she has been running her own consulting business in the years since, helping innovative organizations like Google, Microsoft, and CHANEL incorporate the Pivot Method into their global career development and manager training programs. Her motto: if change is the only constant, let's get better at it. Today you can find Jenny at PivotMethod.com and on her Pivot Podcast. Stay In Touch With Jenny Website Jenny’s Podcast FREE Founder Time Course by Jenny LinkedIn Twitter Instagram Facebook Show Notes For my first interview on Your Yes Life Now Podcast, I had to invite my dear friend Jenny Blake back onto the show. As the author of Pivot, she was the perfect guest for this episode. We begin the conversation with the question “what are we saying yes to?” Jenny shares that saying yes for her is also saying I she is her first priority and that means that her health, her wellness, her rest, her space, her sanity is her first priority – a lesson we can all learn to be better at. The yes for Jenny and her yes life is about honoring who she is and giving herself permission to say no so that she’s really clear and joyful when she does say yes. We talk about burnout and how quickly it can loom upon us if we are not careful. Jenny shares that having awareness of our own tendencies is so crucial. And then what she offers for us when we do find ourselves in a state of burnout, is to flood ourselves with self-compassion. So instead of the self-talk that burnout is a problem, flip the conversation to be able to say to yourself - I can see that you've been working so hard and I see how much you've done. She goes on to share that If she is worried about someone else's wellness more than her own and she hasn't yet done her basics of movement, hydration, eating well, sleep, then she reminds herself to rewind so that she can stay full to help and love those around her. Jenny’s life mantra is “Let it be easy, let it be fun.” And for her, this is a lens she uses when making decisions about her life and work. As this show was recorded at the end of 2019 we talk about our words for the upcoming year. Mine is Financial Freedom, which moved us into a conversation about money, worth and income. We speak about money being energy and that if we allow ourselves to take the restrictions and the fears and the worries away and we allow full abundance to flow through us, we can serve others, we can serve the world, we can create more, we can reach more, we can donate to charities and we can earn more and share more. We move onto the topic of time and Jenny invites us to question what we have been told about traditional working hours and what it takes to be successful. Jenny wants 2020 to be a year where she can simplify. She shares that she has just blocked off her calendar in 2020. She has blocked out the fourth week of every month along with I blocking off Mondays and Fridays. She is going to experiment with compressing her time and elevating her focus with an estimated total of 1000 working hours in 2020. Jenny’s word is luxurious and we both share that our words for 2020 feel a little uncomfortable and we invite you to pick a word for 2020 that is a stretch word – one that makes you feel a little pushed and challenged. Jenny is both spontaneous and also a genius as systems. She also has a mantra that comes from the agile development word and that is - each time you repeat a task, take one step toward automating it. What that means is saving yourself the time. Being kind to your future self. If you find yourself writing an email, giving directions to your home, or any task that you can anticipate you're going to do move it into a system that can be replicated. Jenny and I both believe that you can be successful on your own terms and that it takes courage and perseverance to figure out what works for you and your life and on your terms. With that as we move into 2020, both Jenny and I wish you a journey that is easy and fun -and has systems in place to help you out along the way. Calling all fellow bookworms, library nerds, and general lovers of literature — it’s time for another book club episode of the podcast! Whenever there are five Fridays in a month, we devote the extra Friday to a book that we can’t get enough of. In this episode we’re diving into the New York Times bestseller Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. Lori, a therapist, goes through a sudden break-up in her mid-forties which sends her into an existential tailspin. The book is an examination of her experience being on both the giving and receiving ends of therapy. You not only follow along as she peels back the layers on what led her to her own rock bottom, but how a handful of her patients made their way out of their own dark nights of the soul, too. We talked about … Why so many of us believe that feelings are shameful, and why we hide them. How unreliable we all are as narrators of our own experience, and how to see yourself more accurately. Getting past the “presenting problem” (the problem you think you have) and finding the true root of your issues. Differences and similarities between therapy and coaching. Achieving “emotional sobriety”—When you don’t need to self-medicate (with substances, your phone, romantic partners, etc.) to regulate your feelings. The 5 stages of change, and how to recognize when you (and people you care about) are actually ready for help/change. After you’ve listened, leave us a comment to let us know which nuggets of wisdom from this book resonated with you most! HOLIDAY SPECIAL FOR THE PPSC! Calling all fellow bookworms, library nerds, and general lovers of literature — it’s time for another book club episode of the podcast! Whenever there are five Fridays in a month, we devote the extra Friday to a book that we can’t get enough of. This time we decided to have a conversation about a rampant problem that a LOT of people in our audience are likely suffering through—being preyed upon by energy vampires. 1 in 5 people is on the vampire spectrum (YES, you read that right), which means you’ve known many throughout your life, and have likely been preyed upon by more than one. If you’re an empath, highly sensitive person, people pleaser, peacemaker, or anyone who has difficulty enforcing boundaries with other people, this conversation about Dodging Energy Vampires: An Empath’s Guide to Evading Relationships that Drain You and Restoring Your Health and Power by Christiane Northrup, M.D. is going to hit home for you! We talked about: The type of people who are tasty prey to an energy vampire, and how to tell if you’re an easy mark. How to spot an energy vampire from a mile away. How to set hard boundaries, escape the drama, say no, and steer clear of the people who are draining your energy and making you miserable (even if they’re a member of your family). How to heal the wounds and blind spots that made you susceptible to energy vampires, so that the pattern can’t repeat itself. Come leave us a comment after you’ve listened and let us know if you’ve been an inadvertent snack to an energy vampire, and how you’re going to start shutting that down ASAP! You may not have seen this coming, but we’re saying it: Positive thinking ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. If this sounds suspicious for a couple of life coaches to be saying, you’re going to want to listen (or watch!) this month’s side chat. We’re diving in to the compulsion that SO many of us feel to stay positive at all times, and why that is NOT necessarily a good thing. We talked about: Why so many people feel guilty or ashamed for having thoughts that aren’t positive How pretending you’re upbeat and positive, when you’re definitely not, does a lot of emotional damage Why the ugly emotions—rage, anger, grief, sadness, frustration, jealousy—are totally acceptable, and not scary How to stop “faking it” and let yourself feel everything How to tell the difference between fake positivity and real positivity within yourself After you’ve listened, leave a comment to let us know if you’ve been glossing things over with false positivity, and how this conversation sits with you! WANT HELP PROCESSING EVERYTHING? When you give yourself permission to feel ALL the things—positive, negative, and everything in between—there’s a LOT to sort through.
