Cassandra DeAnn VanCuren's life has given her adventures in many creative fields. She found her passion in the wedding industry, despite her constant challenges with burnout as an entrepreneur. Growing up in a dysfunctional home, She lacked the necessary tools to find fulfillment in her life. Like an addict, she sought to numb the pain of her youth. Her drug of choice was validation through the praise of her creative pursuits. Everything and everyone around her suffered in her exhausting quest to soothe herself. Once she was able to address the trauma that occurred growing up in a religiously abusive home, she was then able to rebuild her confidence and gain insight into her career challenges. After a spontaneous awakening and a journey of transformation and self-discovery, she left her wedding business behind to pursue a greater purpose. Now her heart desires to inspire and uplift others through her words. She's a certified Human Design reader and Gene Keys Guide. She helps guide others through their journey of deconditioning from societal programming. She shares her story in hopes of empowering others to live unapologetically as they are designed to be.   ---- SOCIALS: https://www.instagram.com/iamcassandradeann https://www.cassandradeann.com https://www.tiktok.com/@iamcassandradeann https://www.youtube.com/@cassandradeann https://www.cassandradeann.com/podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/things-i-talk-about/id1689904928

Biblical objectification

“Religious Christians are afraid to read the Bible. Religious Christian leaders notoriously avoid telling their congregants to read the Bible, especially the Old Testament. They would rather feed their followers the sanitized, feel-good, scriptures and preach their personal ideas of what the Bible says. It is often said that the best way to convert a religious Christian to atheism is to get them to read the Bible cover to cover. I got into a conversation with a religious Christian recently and he told me not to bother reading the Bible. He just wanted me to read the four Gospels. He told me that was all I needed to know in order to understand Jesus and be saved. I recommended to him that he should read the entire Bible cover-to-cover… if he could stomach it. This is another example of religious Christians hating their own holy book. Back in the day, unless you were a religious leader, you weren't even allowed to read the Bible because the fear was that people would be turned off to religious Christianity after reading it. The religious leaders would claim that without special knowledge the average Joe or average Joetta wouldn't understand it properly. Now, every religious Christian has at least one Bible. They sleep with it under their pillows, quote random passages, and talk about how awesome it is, however few of them have actually taken the time to read the whole thing cover-to-cover. The ones that do often have a religious leader next to them telling them what each passage “really” means because it couldn't possibly mean what it actually says. That would be crazy talk. Parts of The Bible has long and tediously boring series of books full of tribalism, hate, tyranny, and genocide. Parts of The Bible is full of obvious contradictions, plot holes, ridiculous stories, and made up histories. Anyone can justify anything with Bible as their guide. The best book to convince believers to reject Conservative Christianity has always been the Bible. This is why religious believers don't really want people to read the Bible and why they don't read it themselves. They want to believe but they are afraid that reading would mean not believing. So instead they go around pretending to read the Bible. They listen to what their religious leaders tell them the book says and then they get a verse or two that they can show others as a way to prove that they read it even when they didn't. This is an extremely significant point. If religious Christianity was true, it is virtually certain the the Bible would be nothing short of a phenomenally successful book for promoting faith in its authenticity. Religious Christian leaders would be begging people to read it in its entirety. This is not happening. To be brutally honest, the Bible is the best evidence that religious Christianity is not true.” I put some of my own words of these writings. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

"Genocide I hear a lot from Christians about God's “infinite compassion and mercy”. Instead of harping on me about something so unapparent, they should go tell it to the Midianites. (Please open your Bibles to Numbers 31) The following verses are a classic example of wholesale slaughter and rape under the direction of the same God they claim to be so merciful. A quick sample of this tale: On the way to the promised land, God had Moses wage a war campaign against the Midian. Moses was told to put every Midianite to death, plunder anything of value, and set fire to the towns where they lived and all their encampments. Moses gave the orders to his troops (the sons of Israel) and went on a further campaign. On the return of his troops, Moses was enraged with the commanders of the army. He said, “Why have you spared the life of all the women and children? You are to kill all the children and kill all the women who have slept with a man. The Lord says spare the lives only of the young girls who have not slept with a man, and take them for yourselves, so that we may multiply into a great nation.” Yes, friends, this is biblical infinite mercy and compassion for you. I particularly like the way that Moses got upset with them for sparing women and male children, but allowed the young girls to be kept for later raping. I have had some Christians proclaim that these Midianite girls were not taken for raping but for marriage. How ridiculous! If you continue further in the scripture, you will find that marriage to a Midianite was a crime against God. A man named Zimri broke the law and married a Midianite woman this angered God so he sent a plague among the Hebrews. Fortunately, a zealous son of Israel speared Zimri right through the genitals, and the plague went away. So now I ask you, if you could not marry a Midianite, just what were these “virgin women who were to help multiply” good for? I don't think the firstborn in Egypt during the captivity would have agreed with the verdict of compassion and mercy either. (Exodus 11:5 & 12:29) First of all, Jehovah is the one who purposely hardened the heart of the Pharaoh so that he would not let Moses and the Jews go. God messed with someone's free will. God could have even teleported the Jews out of captivity without bloodshed, or put the Egyptians to sleep while they left, but no. God decided to set up a situation in which he knew he would have to punish the Pharaoh. Though this he didn't even do. He punished the children instead. Judging from God's previous actions, killing innocent children is much more his forte. Lastly, please attempt to read the entire book of Joshua some evening. It is a long sequence of atrocities. I have not given all these quotes for space reasons. I urge you to look them up for yourself. Especially for Christians who are not familiar with the bible. It will leave you not only shocked and in the question of just what you are worshiping, but it will give a new definition to all morality you claimed was a derivative of God. If by some chance you read Joshua and you are still compliant with the loving notion of God, I suggest you re-evaluate your code of ethics." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/antonio-myers4/support

The New Humanist
The Problem with Religious (Christian) Evangelization (Part IV Episode 26)

The New Humanist

Alright. This is a tricky one. For its message is mainly suited for those who have been or are still a part of a Christian culture. However, it is also relatable in parts for those who find Christian evangelization weird and/or problematic. To start with the basics: What is evangelization? Evangelization, which is often understood in its verb form: 'To evangelize', pertains to the need to spread 'the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world'. If that sounds too much: Evangelization is a spiritual 'calling' that virtually all believers of Christ are called to do, which is to announcing to the world God's Redemptive plan for humanity. One that is made manifest in the life and teachings of Christ, that finds its fulfillment in the Passion, death and Resurrection of the Lord. Does that sound a bit too much!? Then I think we have hit on a key problem. Whatever the Christian message is: on Hope, Love, Forgiveness, Grace, Salvation etc. Much of what it has to offer the modern Western mind seems, sounds and invariably is, a bit out there: The language is difficult to understand. The message is often unrelatable. And worse, its teachings are generally off-putting. In the world today (speaking of the secularizing West), where religion-Christianity-is in head long decline, the need for "New Evangelization" has been sounded in many corners of the Church. With successive Popes (in the Catholic world), and various other Christian leaders calling for missionaries and the laity to get involved in advancing the Gospel. The problem with these clarion calls for a New (or Old) Evangelization is that it gets a number of things fundamentally wrong about the enterprise: which is known with Christian circles as the transmission of Faith. The problems that are associated with Christian Evangelization today, as we shall see, are primarily internal: They lie with Church: the Institutional construct. They with its members: the persons who make up the clerical class. They lies with its Teachings.
