When Jody Leonardo suggested that I interview Rochelle Rice, I was thrilled. I'd been wanting to connect with Rochelle and her co-host, Leslie Bercher, for awhile, but hadn't done it yet. Rochelle and Leslie are the co-hosts of the Inappropriate Quilters Podcast and I guess I had them up on a bit of a pedestal. So when Rochelle told me that she's been listening to A Quilter's Life I was in shock. It was so much fun to chat and realize we have such respect for each other. Rochelle teases me at the end that we chatted for many hours. I'm sure we could have, but my interviews don't last that long. Here's a Mosaic Quilt that Rochelle made Connect with Rochelle Instagram: doughnutwarrior And listen to her podcast: Inappropriate Quilters Podcast
Relating the body to embodied leadership makes sense coming from a former professional dancer. Rochelle Rice did just that in the area of jazz with 30+ years in the fitness industry. She really believes that all women deserve a movement program that works for her body and should not be shamed or blamed. Embodied leadership refers to the role of the body in effective leadership or how to stay effective in the middle of chaos. Drawing on her background as a former professional jazz dancer, Rochelle Rice, with over 30 years in the fitness industry, connects the body to leadership. She passionately advocates for movement programs, both for the mind and body, tailored to every woman's uniqueness, rejecting any form of shame or blame. The concept of embodied leadership, as she explains, explores the vital role the body plays in effective leadership and maintaining effectiveness amid chaos. Many individuals have diligently cultivated a robust skill set, particularly those at mid-career or the halftime of life. Acknowledging the invaluable foundation created by those skills and experiences is essential when navigating change and transition. This mindset doesn't suggest knowing everything or perfection; instead, it signifies possessing a reservoir of skills that facilitates intentional transitions and decisions. It provides the freedom to pause, take inventory, and chart a course that aligns with one's vision for making a meaningful impact, rather than merely adhering to a predetermined career path. In this article we delve into three areas: listening to the body, becoming bilingual and making dreams come true. Full article here: https://goalsforyourlife.com/embodied-leadership

Rochelle Rice, CSP, is a nationally recognized speaker, author, and educator. She is first woman in the world to hold both the Accredited Speaker (AS) designation from Toastmasters International and the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from the National Speakers Association. A former professional jazz dancer, her passion stems from the inordinate amount of stress in our society placed on thinness rather than the body as a resource for effective leadership. Rochelle has been in the fitness industry for 30+ years and brings a unique approach to her work. Blending her somatic experience training to help people regulate their central nervous system, she helps people stop fighting with themselves and be at ease in leadership roles (or just leadership acts). With her work, people learn to be comfortable that what they say and do are aligned to how people perceive them. Providing confidence, trust and hope, with a solid, proven technique, her message is one of unwavering faith in people's unique ability to create a dynamic life of leadership by honoring the wisdom of the body.
