We just talked to writer Chris McAuley and artist Clint Langley about the new book coming in 2025 titled "Shadows of the Stokerverse"! They currently have a Kickstarter campaign going to get some awesome exclusives, so go help them out! Back the Kickstarter NOW http://kck.st/40po3hS What's This Book All About? After the hugely successful launch of the comic book series "Dracula The Return: Cult Of The White Worm" in 2022 working with Scratch Comics and the equally successful launch of the Stokerverse Role Playing Game released by Nightfall Games, which featured the stunning artwork of 2000ad comic art legend Clint Langley (ABC Warriors, Slaine, WarHammer 4000) ideas started to flow between Chris McAuley, Clint Langley and Shane Chebsey to find an exciting way to expand the Stokerverse beyond Dracula himself. It was not long before the enthusiasm for these ideas manifested in some concept art from Clint, which then inspired new stories from Chris and before long writer and artist were inspiring each other and a huge collection of incredible work started to amass. They now offer you the results of this work in the pages of a 100 page beautifully designed art and story book with an introduction from Dacre Stoker, that combines the vivid word craft of Chris McAuley, the stunning and often visceral artwork of Clint Langley and the sublime design skills of Andy Bloor. AL and Shane sit down with Shane Chebsey for a good catch-up, reminiscing about the old days. Of AL, making a fool of himself in front of Jamali Maddix, the time he made fool of himself in front of John Wagner oh and the time AL recorded the worst audio ever in front of some of the biggest legends of the comic book world (at The Hive). This is a real great illustration of how not to be a superstar podcaster. Mr Chebsey is bringing something special to Shrewsbury from the 24th July. Comics Salopia returns with what sounds like a stunning Comic Trail. Commissioned enthusiastically by the local authorities, being designed by some of the finest artists and written by comic book royalty John Wagner, this event looks to be out of this world. No spoilers though, to find out who will be featured and why this event is so important right now, take a listen to this fun episode. The Shrewsbury Biscuit welcomes Charlie Adlard to the show. AL, Shane and Julie speak to Charlie, who is the co-creator of The Walking Dead, one of the best selling independent Comic-Books in the world. Charlie is not only an icon in the world of comic-books, but is a bit of a Shrewsbury legend (although he would modestly disagree). Despite his worldwide acclaim, Charlie is a proud Salopian and he works hard to inspire others. Whether it be his ambassadorial role at The Hive, helping organise the local Comics Salopia Festival with Shane Chebsey or appearing on plucky local podcasts (ahem!)  We begin with how things began for Charlie and the journey that's taken him to the top of the comic-book food chain, including his own personal inspirations. We also find out how AL and Shane almost stumbled upon a worldwide exclusive of one of the most baller, mic drop moments in Comic-book history.

ICE International Comic Expo 'Winter Edition': Holiday Inn Bayfront Brighton, Saturday 9th March 2019 I was very lucky and honoured to have been invited down to the South Coast of England to participate in the Winter Edition of Shane Chebsey's ICE International Comic Expo in Brighton. A satellite event of the larger Birmingham event, it allows fans of comics in the area to meet with some incredible talent that they might not usually be able to so and see without braving the horrors of the M25. You could argue that the headlining panel of the day was the collection of esteemed talent gathered for this retrospective - and forward-looking - panel, looking into the Past, Present And Future of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic, 2000AD, a publication that has thrilled and chilled comics fans and kids since its first 'prog' in 1977. It's an anthology that has had featured in its pages pretty much every major comics talent that this country has produced, including our panellists: Glenn Fabry (SLAINE / PREACHER), Clint Langley (SLAINE / NEMESIS THE WARLOCK) and Dan Cornwell (JUDGE DREDD). The three and I sat down to talk about some of the highlights of working on the magazine, some of the more favourite (and least libellous) memories of their time at 2000AD and into a little bit of a deep dive into where the audience of 2000AD has been, are today and may well end up in the future as the comics continues to generate incredible stories on a weekly basis. It's a hell of a chat, and I hope you enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT ICE BRIGHTON: Britain’s Coolest Comic Convention brings the ICE magic to England’s south coast with big name guests, traders and exhibitors and a full program of exclusive fun events. One of the talents that I got to chat with was comics writer and illustrator Rachael Smith, someone I've been a follower and admirer of for some time - and I'm not on my own. Since creating her first book, CLARA'S SHADOW in 2013, Rachael has garnered quite the following, drawn to her forthright and bold characters, her appealing art style and her passionate approach to personal issues and individual challenges within her stories. This has led to award nominations, plaudits and a legion of dedicated fans, eager to see what stories Rachael is ready to tell next. Over the course of forty minutes, we cover Rachael's approaches to story and character, we touch upon her latest work, we get into some DOCTOR WHO bits and bobs, and all sorts of other stuff and nonsense in this loose and fun conversation which I hope you'll enjoy. So, as Leonard and Rodney moved from the stage down into the seating area, this presentation became more of an intimate 'fireside chat' to talk about Rodney's career, his influences, his thoughts on the current landscape of comics illustration and where the industry could go to advance and progress. A cool talk... Thanks to Shane and his team for the putting on of the event, and to Rodney for allowing me to present this interview.

That's down to the various events across the globe making sure they carve their own little niches in the culture, establishing themselves with the guests they attract and the attendees that come to them. Two such events are showcased on this week's episode. Talkin' Comic-Con: A Cup O' Tea with An Englishman In San Diego (20th September 2015, 1000 PT / 1300 ET / 1800 GMT) Google+ Event: https://plus.google.com/events/ct9efqt9ent1unicr540349g7l4 YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ2yVVFow5Q ~~ COMIC CONS BEHIND THE SCENES - FROM THE GROUND UP ~~ This could be one of the most exciting Special Guest lineups we've had for some time and it's a pleasure to have these two gentlemen joining us on the Hangout this week. First up, we're going to be joined by ICE (International Comic Expo) creator/organiser/chief bottlewasher, SHANE CHEBSEY, a man whose surname I seem to be incapable of pronouncing properly so this Sunday should be a hoot! Held in Birmingham each year, ICE has become one of the premier highlights of the UK convention calendar and Shane will be on hand to talk about what it actually takes to put on such an event: the history, the headlines, the highs and lows, the relationships that are forged (and those that are tested), the spinning of plates required to make such an incredible experience happen for so many. Should be fascinating to hear. And secondly, a gentleman with a long and diverse history in comics, one that made him the perfect choice to head up an entirely new comics company: AfterShock Comics' Editor-In-Chief MIKE MARTS, who made a trip over to attend this years ICE to present the company's vision and initial hires, some of the biggest creative names in the business. Mike will be talking to us about what it means for a company to take part in cons in 2015, when the landscape of attendees have shifted from what what essentially a industry trade show / talent interaction to what is  primarily a gathering of like-minded individuals today. Can a company make an impact in such a surrounding? Do cons serve an entirely different purpose in 2015? And what is it really like on the other side of the exhibition stand? This should be an incredible episode - we hope you can join us! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- TALKIN' COMIC-CON: A CUP O' TEA WITH AN ENGLISHMAN IN SAN DIEGO is the weekly San Diego +Comic-Con International Live Show, a Hangout On Air taking place every Sunday (6pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET) and hosted by Leonard Sultana.   Each week, the best bloggers on t'web talk about San Diego Comic-Con, about con & pop culture and, for an hour or so, we invite guests to talk to us and get nerdy and geeky about everything that orbits the Best Pop Culture Convention On The Planet!  YOU can watch and interact online, either by Twitter (tweeting with the hashtag #CupOTeaSDCC) or via the Hangout Event Q&A. In this episode we celebrate our 10th podcast. Now we know this is our 5th episode but with our special episodes this makes ten. We also wanted something to celebrate so there! Anyway after the fanfare or lack of dies down we get back to our mission of talking crap. We reveal our plans to save the Halo movie, a new sword and sorcery animated film with a seriously epic voice cast. The potential train wreck that could be Babylon 5 The Lost Tales is covered. If it's sex, politics and intrigue with a sci fi slant you after we look at the upcoming Battlestar Galactica spin off Capica. For our special feature we drag Shane Chebsey, one of the organisers of next month's Birmingham comic show kicking and screaming off the street to discuss such loft topics as Booze, the thin line between geeks and psychos, why Ultimate Avengers is so crap oh and some stuff about his work with small press and some exclusive insight and information on next month's comic show. Yes and once again we bitch about Smallville and Torchwood.
