Come to the Bank = Testing the limits of the human mind! I hope you enjoy these lovely tales, and bare with my lack of outro because the rain and lightning here is insanely loud....and I'm worried about my power cutting

On this time the show theme is the dinosaur, but in retrospect, that might be pushing it just a bit. In the end, you will have to decide if it was a fitting theme or not. On the program today we have stories from you guys, a classic from the OTR series Lights Out! and we end with a brand new Not So Important Times In History where we head to Mons, Belgium in the year 1914. Did Angels really defeat the Germans there? Listen to this podcast to find out. Featured Story - Sub-Basement Our featured story this week comes from the OTR series Lights Out. The quality of these old shows is so impressive that they are worth hearing again and again. This one takes place in a sub-basement where it is rumored that there is a small railroad to deliver merchandise. According to Lights Out it may even be filled with dinosaurs! The story is appropriately titled Sub-Basement and it first aired on August 24, 1943. content: May 13, 2020 Audio (MP3): 20201305 - Of course I can run an elevator Video (MP4): 20201305 - Of course I can run an elevator I was softly clanging around on the MIDI keyboard the other night and came up with a couple of melodies. I couldn’t really find any words to go with them so I decided to look up what was in the public domain. Old time spoken word radio has always plucked my heart strings and I came across Lights Out, an old 1930s program. The Sub-Basement episode caught my ear so I chopped up the couple's underground struggle and mixed their real story in with my keyboard melodies. Related links: archive.org/.../Lights_Out_43-08-24_047_Sub-Basement_Going_Down.mp3 oldtimeradiomagic.com/4.html en.wikipedia.org/.../Lights_Out_(radio_show) en.wikipedia.org/.../Chicago_Tunnel_Company From the wikipedia: Oboler met the demand by adopting an unusual scripting procedure: He would lie in bed at night, smoke cigarettes, and improvise into a Dictaphone, acting out every line of the play. In this way, he was able to complete a script quickly, sometimes in as little as 30 minutes, though he might take as long as three or four hours. In the morning, a stenographer would type up the recording for Oboler's revisions. I tell ya, dictation is the way to go for capturing one’s thoughts. HAPPY MONDAY!!! I'm into week one of the podcast schedule and so far I've made it! Wednesday's podcast will be the Josh and Jenny show; while Mondays will be with a guest or two. And this week, I have two of my favorite guests in the world. I'm joined by Daniel Degnan (Father Gil) and Nathan Strauss (Fly Guy/Igor) to chat about how I met Strauss, living in the sub-basement, our first films, failure, Greywood's Plot fun, and making the dog man mask. We also awkwardly face technical difficulties... don't worry about it! Next week I'll have another awesome guest or two and we'll keep it going as long as we can! Who's excited about the new schedule?

This is a series created by request for drivers wanting to here scary stories while they drive. Hope everyone wants to hear before they turn out the lights for bed. Lights Out! ran from 1934-39, producing some 274 original scripts (of which only around 140 are believed to still exist), though it was revived for short periods of time--using many recycled or updated scripts from the 1930s--off and on until 1947. The show was created by Willis Cooper who, the story goes, after a hard day's work and tired of listening to the same old late night radio dance band programs, decided to write his own supernatural and horror stories for his own amusement (though he frightened himself so much that sometimes he couldn't finish his own stories until the next morning).

What better of a way to fill the void of J’s absence while on vacation, than to revisit an episode with an absent Q. That’s right kids…its time for another High Five: Replay! SO strap on those Mickey ears and listen to an episode from the vault where past tense J and Amanda take you on a magical tour of Disney, while they present tense go on an actual magical tour of Disney World. I’m not Jealous. You’re jealous. While Q takes a leave of absence to teach sign language to kangaroos, J is joined by special guest, and Disney expert, Amanda as they explore the Top 5 Animated Disney Movies of all time (minus Pixar, because those aren't Disney, I don't care what you say, shut up). Will your favorites make the list? Probably, but there are just SO many to choose from. How in the Magical Kingdom can they narrow it down to only five? As Q finishes up his sabbatical in the Outback running a start-up where he delivers hot meals to wallabies with near-sightedness, J and Amanda talk Disney myths (with boobs!) and finally figure out why Beast never learned to eat with a spoon in that damned castle. Let's talk Disney in this Very Special Episode!
