We love stories of when a side hustle becomes a successful business. For entrepreneur Robbie Ball, inspiration struck in his final year of university, and he hasn't looked back. Uncle Jack Watches started small and has since exploded in popularity, turning Robbie into an eCommerce influencer.
Disruption, largely driven by technology, has permanently altered a number of industries over the past few years. Uber has changed point to point transport irreversibly, and Deliveroo has revolutionised the way we order take away food. Scott and John discuss which industries are prime targets for technology-driven disruption and share tips on how to insulate your small business from any damage. Speaking of disruption, the Gig Economy is a by-product of disruptive companies and it's creating headaches for governments and employment law experts. Are workers sole traders? Are they independent contractors? Are they employees? Deliveroo is pushing for a 'third way' of legally defining contract workers, which would allow companies to provide some benefits - including sick pay and third-party liability insurance - without employment. Employment law expert Michael Byrnes from Swaab Lawyers explains. On Workwise, we love stories of when a side hustle becomes a successful business. Over the last few weeks, I have had many conversations with people around the topic of delivering absolute confidence while still remaining humble. I think this is a conversation that has been lost over a period of time, partly due to the negative connotations that we hold with being confident and being humble. Throughout this episode I will discuss the relevance both play, in living a life with certainty that these two can co-exist and lead you to greater experiences in yourself and with others. I take my own experiences with this and unravel the steps taken to ensure confidence does not get mislead for arrogance and humility does not get portrayed as submissiveness. Today we explore the 9 Bad Mindset Habits that we need to alleviate in our lives. I say 'Habits' because these are mindsets that we have developed over the course of our life time through shared experiences, the way we were nurtured, our circle of friends, what we read and listen to. So below are the 9 habits that I have discovered over the course of my life and what strategies I used to filter these negatives mindsets out and replace them with enriching, long lasting, positive mindset habits. The Believing Self-Doubt MindsetThe Need for Approval MindsetThe Excuse Making MindsetThe Unwillingness to Share MindsetThe I'm Perfect MindsetThe Unadaptable to Change MindsetThe Ungrateful MindsetThe Victim MindsetThe Completion Over Quality MindsetIf you enjoyed this episode I'd love for you to leave a review, give the podcast a 5 star rating.Subscribe below:@damien.bugejawww.facebook.com/damien.bugejawww.damienbugeja.com/podcastOnce again, a massive thank you to the podcast sponsors.Uncle Jack Watches, use the 'Relentless' promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% discount off your purchase.Powercore Fitness, go to 302 Hume Hwy, Craigieburn and mention the 'Relentless with Damien Bugeja' Podcast to get 10% off your 3, 6 and 12 month membership.

I have had a lot of questions asked to me about how I find motivation in training so much. Through this episode of the podcast, I reveal how I consistently worked on my mind before I worked on training my physical body. Your body only has so many physical capabilities before your mind will quite. At what point your mind quits is totally up to you and how indestructible you want it to be. It has taken a lot of hurt and pain to develop my mindset and the crazy thing is I have only tapped in to about 30% of its potential. Most people in society would sit in the 10% bracket of what they tap in to. I hope you get real knowledge out of this episode and understand how practical it is to train your mind over anything else.If you enjoyed this episode I'd love for you to leave a review, give the podcast a 5 star rating.Subscribe below:@damien.bugejawww.facebook.com/damien.bugejawww.damienbugeja.com/podcastOnce again, a massive thank you to the podcast sponsors.Uncle Jack Watches, use the 'Relentless' promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% discount off your purchase. Likeminded people are hard to come by when your mindset and thought processes are part of a minority. But Danny Kennedy is someone who shares my same intrinsic motivation and determination to tackle life head on with all guns blazing. Our chats are always epic whether we are on the mic or not and this episode was no different. We indulge in the concepts of reverse engineering our goals to ensure they are measurable, realistic and purposely felt. We also discuss the concepts around brushing aside peoples opinions of us and needing acceptance to smash our targets. The one common theme I hear when I communicate with people from all walks of the life, is the notion of regret. Majority of our society has some form of regret for not pursuing that one thing that they have missed their whole life. Ultimately, regret comes from our choices to not do something. On this episode, I challenge everyone not making choices to live out their passions and I create an understanding on how I have challenged myself to get to a point in my life that has no fear of regret. I expose some of the strategies I used to help do this and create an understanding through real life examples, examples that can be relatable to the average person. My quote on today's episode "If you want to see true regret, speak to an elderly person and see if they can change what they regret" is a true message that you have an opportunity to make changes and starting living out your passions CONSISTENTLY!!if you enjoyed this episode I'd love for you to leave a review, give the podcast a 5 star rating.Subscribe below:@damien.bugejawww.facebook.com/damien.bugejawww.damienbugeja.com/podcastOnce again, a massive thank you to the podcast sponsors.Uncle Jack Watches, use the 'Relentless' promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% discount off your purchase.Powercore Fitness, go to 302 Hume Hwy, Craigieburn and mention the 'Relentless with Damien Bugeja' Podcast to get 10% off your 3, 6 and 12 month membership.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS are an invaluable mechanism to building relationships and through today's podcast I really delve in to why and how they become such a pivotal part of our everyday lives. I work through my assumption of three stages to nailing a first impression. Stage 1 is THE WAY YOU LOOK, Stage 2 is the COMMUNICATION PHASE and Stage 3 is your LASTING IMPRESSION. My passion for nailing first impressions has come from an intrinsic motivation to continually learn about myself and other people. Society today is so judgemental of people that our first impressions become even more accentuated. If you enjoyed this episode I'd love for you to leave a review, give the podcast a 5 star rating.Subscribe below:@damien.bugejawww.facebook.com/damien.bugejawww.damienbugeja.com/podcastOnce again, a massive thank you to the podcast sponsors.Uncle Jack Watches, use the 'Relentless' promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% discount off your purchase.Powercore Fitness, go to 302 Hume Hwy, Craigieburn and mention the 'Relentless with Damien Bugeja' Podcast to get 10% off your 3, 6 and 12 month membership.
Social media has been deemed the cause of society's insecurities since its existence. On today's podcast I delve in to my thoughts on why this is not the case and how our insecurities have been developed through generations. I also consider the ways in which we continuously care about other peoples opinion of us, not to mention how we allow that to affect our everyday lives. Being grateful for what we presently have and how we build confidence through appreciating our present being is critical to suppressing our limiting beliefs.

Today we catch up with 24 year old, serial entrepreneur Robbie Ball who ran two businesses whilst at school. One in which attempted to take on compression clothing giant Skins! He's built and sold a web design business, and is now the founder of Uncle Jacks Watches and boutique sneaker brand Athletikan. He loves the hustle of business, and is working hard at perfecting a launch strategy he calls Hype Marketing which has seen him attract over $100,000 in sales on day one of a product launch. Plus I help a listener attract more clients to his business, and Dave Jenyns shares a simple strategy to create content that will position you as an authority. “I need to control my competitive spirit. It's not going away any time soon, so I just need to control it. If I try to do too many things, I can't be the best I can be. The underlying thing is you need to be passionate about being an entrepreneur, otherwise it's difficult to be the best at something. I try and stay in my land and push the boundaries.” -Robbie Ball, Uncle Jacks Watches There's loads more tips and insights just like this that will help you build that beautiful business of yours into the empire it deserves to be. Hit the PLAY button above to listen now, or subscribe free to hear the full interview. You'll also find the full interview transcription below. If you have questions about entrepreneurs, starting a product business, launching a new product or service, then you'll get this answers in this interview, including: What was Robbie like as a teenager? What is Hype Marketing? What is great about being an entrepreneur? How do you successfully launch something? Where did the idea for Uncle Jacks Watches come from? Where did the idea for Athletikan sneakers come from? How and why to use social influencers to sell? How important is marketing in growing a brand? And plenty more ... 24 year old serial entrepreneur, Robbie Ball. A big thank-you to listeners Dan Kennedy and Daniel Izzo who independently brought Robbie to my attention. By the time Robbie finished school he'd already started a shoe business, and had had a crack at manufacturing compression sportswear to compete with global brand Skins! In first year uni he started a web design business that he sold after 3-years. Six years on he's the founder of Uncle Jacks Watches and sneaker brand Athletikan. He also is about to launch a third business in a couple of months. The guys a freak and has a wonderful respect for marketing …. Hype Marketing to be specific. Here's what caught my attention from my chat with Robbie Ball of Uncle Jack's Watches: Robbie uses an apps to capture all his ideas. And you should, too. The simple Notes app on your smartphone is fine, but you can step it up to Evernote which lets you capture not just words, but photos, video and audio. Or you could go old school, and carry a journal around with you. Robbie's comment around putting viral marketing in to perspective. Whilst it would be great to create a blog post or video or podcast episode that gets shared by millions, it's also a solid outcome if your content is shared by hundreds. What's that saying “Shoot for the stars and you might just land on the moon!” Put more effort into launching (or re-launching) parts of your business. A launch is a great opportunity to create excitement and anticipation around what you've got to offer, so make the most of them. It could be for a new product line, a new service offering or even a new division of your business. But the marketing gold doesn't stop there, in this episode you'll also discover: Dave Jenyns and I reveal a simple way for you to create authority content. And listener Thomas Gardener (from Alabama) wants to know how to get more customers for his massage business.
