This week Brian and Harrison kick things off covering a range of topics, including; the tragic passing of Andrew Krakouer, BT opens up on a new gripe of his: ‘new community sports pavilions having nothing on the walls', plus he also relives a clip that we've all seen of him carrying on in the 80s vs St Kilda, plus, plenty more. Next, the boys are joined by Michael Roach. ‘Disco' as he's affectionately known is a former Australian Rules Footballer, a legend of the Richmond Football Club, playing 200 games, accruing 2x Coleman Medals and a premiership across a 12-year career. Brian and Michael first met when a 17-year-old BT walked into the Richmond FC doors, the next few years caused headaches for Richmond selectors as the pair playing similar positions came into their prime. Through it all, they were and still are, great mates. They exchange some cracking stories and memories from their days at Tigerland. We thank Michael for his time. Among other things, Cameron Schwab has been the CEO of Richmond, Melbourne and Fremantle Football Clubs. In 1988, he became the youngest CEO in VFL/AFL history at the ripe old age of 24 (at Richmond FC). This time around, Cameron and I chat about giving and receiving feedback, interpreting the 'data' in your life, turning the theory of success into a sustainable practice, his current work coaching Carlton coach Michael Voss (coaching the coach), the prevalence of successful people feeling like failures and frauds, the potential emotional and psychological letdown after we achieve a goal (what now?) and lots more.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Recomendaciones en este episodio:Ismael: Aves Extintas (Simón Jiménez), Grady Hendrix (Autor)Manu: Cult of the Lamb (multiplataforma), Mi problema (canción)Wako: As dusk falls (Xbox)

In 2021 Dongmin started working for the Barbarians FC - the world's most famous invitational international touring side. She initially began building her photography career for clients in theatre but eventually found many similarities between the theatrical physicality of rugby and fast-paced musicals and ballets. In Episode 50, Sunny and Mayank sit with superstar Trent Cotchin. So often, as kids, and even now, we've seen him display courage, selflessness and a sense of power and stability on the field, but underneath all of that, is a man who knows what he wants, understands his identity and embraces vulnerability. In this episode we cover Trent's:
#juniorbatista #gangneung #capetown

Everyone seems to love Ted Lasso and the boys of Richmond FC on AppleTV.In this fun little episode, I try to put my finger on what it is about Ted that draws us in and gives us the "feels" the way only they can. Everybody loves an underdog, right?
Season 2 of Ted Lasso is officially in the books! There were a lot of loose threads to tend to: The tiki-taka between Keeley, Roy, and Jamie, Sam's decision, Ted dealing with the "anonymous" source, and Richmond FC fighting for promotion. Michael and I discuss his experience of being made redundant at a young age and how he overcame the struggles during that time. Now in the education sector within a well-known sporting organisation in Australia, Michael shares how never giving up can lead to success. Michael also shares some important information regarding performance psychology, as he walks me through the link between physical and psychological functioning, and how its hard to perform optimally when you're struggling internally. Michael and I also discuss the ever-troubling topic of the pursuit for perfection. Both as an athlete and as a practitioner within the high-performance industry. He suggests regular necessary breaks from everyone trying to be perfect, as we tend to neglect the small wins of the past and forget to celebrate many achievements. https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-chiovitti-b98817125/ https://richmondinstitute.com.au/our-team/michael-chiovitti/

The first high=temperature cooking stage will develop a deeply caramelised top, while the lower one is to cook the cake until it has just a slight wobble in the centre, or reaches 68 degrees C on a digital thermometer. If chilled after cooking, bring to room temperature before eating.Step 1. Preheat oven to 240degrees C fan-formed. Line base and side of a 22cm springform tin with two pieces of baking paper, extending paper 5cm above the rim of the tin (see note).Step 2. Beat 1kg room temperature cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium speed until smooth. Gradually beat in 500ml pouring cream until just combined, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add 270g caster sugar and 1tsp fine salt; beat for 2 minutes. Add 20gm each sifted plain flour and cornflour, and 2 egg yolks; beat until incorporated. Add 5 room temperature whole eggs (60gm each), one at a time, beating after each addition until just combined (3 minutes).Step 3. Sieve mixture into prepared tin and level. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven until top is deeply caramelised (40-45minutes). Reduce temperature to 150degrees C and bake until cheesecake is cooked but has a slight wobble in the centre (15minutes). Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing.NB – how to line the tin.Tear off two 30cm x 45cm lengths of baking paper. Place one sheet over the tin, then place the second sheet across the first. Press paper down firmly to cover the base and sides of the tin, then fold the overhanging papers slightly over the rim. The creases in the paper will add character to the sides of the cooked cheesecake, while the excess paper on top will prevent the cake from overcooking. To serve, ease the baking paper away from the sides of the cheesecake and cut with a hot dry knife, wiping between cuts.

Off the back of Eddie McGuire's baffling and now-notorious comments responding to a report detailing the history of systemic racism at Collingwood Football Club, we speak to Rana Hussain, Diversity and Inclusion Co-ordinator at Richmond FC and co-host of the Outer Sanctum podcast about the long, ugly reality of racism in footy. Plus, we reflect on the 2020 results of the Scanlon Foundation's 'Mapping social cohesion' survey, which point to a complication of the term 'multiculturalism'. Every 10th episode, we will be chatting to an ancillary health professional who helps, coaches, mentors, teaches or treats masters swimmers. Our guest today is the founder of Swimnastics - Kirsten Norden. If you are not familiar with Swimnastics, then you soon will be!. She talks about how the program has grown in popularity, starting with face to face classes, and now online Zoom and an on-demand library available. Swimming Victoria, Swimming Australia and Swimming NSW and QLD are all using this. Even the Melbourne based Australian Rules Football reigning premiers - Richmond FC use Swimnastics. Scott Morrison's mid-year plan for a COVIDSafe economy is back on track having been derailed by Victorian bungling, but with vaccines uncertain and international borders closed, what is the outlook for Australia's coronavirus Endgame? Can services like education and tourism ever rejoin king coal and iron ore as the foundations of our prosperity, at least any time soon? Why would any business invest when Governments can shut you down at any time? Scott and Chris are joined by Andrew Bushnell to answer those questions and also focus on our first COVID State election in Queensland, which also looks like a post-economics election, with ballooning debt and public service payrolls barely even mentioned (except by the IPA!). It's the clerisy's business model at work… And the other election coming up is in the USA - and it seems Trump's comeback has made it once again too close to call (except by the panellists). The call is made on Florida and the Latino vote. Both candidates played to their strengths and strategy but only one can be vindicated. Culture picks (53:28-1:05:43) look at streaming services La Révolution and the disappointing Brave New World, while the coverage of the AFL Grand Final gives Bushnell a chance to wax lyrical about Richmond FC. In one of the biggest games in the club’s history, I was very lucky thanks to the wonderful people at the Port Adelaide Football Club to have the chance this week to chat with young gun, Joel Garner in the awesome PodBooth studios. We previewed Friday night’s Preliminary Final against the Richmond FC and spoke about the challenges this year with the pandemic and having to deal with training in groups, playing scratch matches and not having a team in the SANFL and what it's like living with fellow team mates Sam Hayes and Kane Farrell. Joel and I also discovered that we have a common dislike of vegemite and love for mullets and that we both have younger brothers that don’t like losing in sport. We also found out the biggest pest and prankster at the club and how Joel can get very competitive when it comes to playing the video game, FIFA.
The boys talk all things All Australian -- and Richo mounts an impassioned defence of the process and final squad. The boys talk delistings, AFL MVP and reveal their most outrageous excuses, following Harley and Eddie's antics in the hub. That and much, much more.
There's no doubt a lot of us are feeling a bit lost or struggling at the moment. Well you're not alone. In Bounce Back, Andrew talks to prominent Australians about major challenges that have been thrown their way, and how they've overcome these difficulties on the road to success. In this episode Dr. Rochford speaks with Richmond Tigers Captain Trent Cotchin. In 2016 The Richmond Football Club was in the dumps, finishing thirteenth. It is fair to say the fans weren't happy with some wanting to overthrow the Board and the Coach and Captain in the media firing line. Whether Trent Cotchin was cut out to be a leader was a regular talking point, Trent himself had doubts. One year later Richmond FC are AFL Premiers, breaking a 37 Premiership drought. They followed up with another Grand Final victory in 2019. Their Captain was then and remains Brownlow Medalist and three-time Richmond Best & Fairest Winner Trent Cotchin. This series will feature some of Australia's most recognised sports men and women, prominent businesspeople and well-known politicians, allowing them to tell their story, in their own words. Bounce Back is about promoting well-being and good mental health, by showing that even in the most difficult of times, there are people who you can turn to for support - whether they're mates, family, colleagues, professionals even your neighbours. It's about how to look after yourself when things are tough, believing in yourself and knowing you can come through it even stronger. Dr. Andrew Rochford is a proud ambassador for DrinkWise, which is sponsoring this podcast. We hope you enjoy Bounce Back. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We're late with this week's podcast, and get in to this one with a catch up on episodes 7 & 8 of the brilliant Netflix documentary series "The Last Dance" about the Chicago Bulls 1990s dynasty. AFL is set to restart, and Mel has a rant about his love (read: hate) for Richmond FC. An educator that is one of us You might have heard me before at a #MeetTheMedia say I am not a great fan of working with academics partly because I don't think they are great fans communicating via media to the general public. This education expert is one of my favourite not only because he delivers, he knows what media is looking for and he has that personality that you want to go and have a beer with after work. Even if he does barrack for Richmond FC. A regular on Channel 10's The Project, the key talkback programs around the country and now an avid OP-ED writer for major newspapers around the country and particularly his home state of Victoria; Adam has certainly established himself as both a thought leader and the commentator of all things education. A former teacher, principal and now owner of an education consultancy called Real Schools Adam is recognised nationally by his peers and media alike as the GO-TO. His anecdotes, his stories, his ability to connect with the hosts of the programs. His never-ending content engine continues to turn. Always ready to have an opinion backed with evidence and facts and can get quite deep on issues that he is passionate about. His delivery to camera and a radio interview is very natural and unique. Adam has the ability to talk like both the principal, the teacher and the parent and it isn't wrapped up in academic vernacular that neither the audience or journalist can understand. He has even a twang in his accent of ‘good bloke' in him that even if you disagreed with what he had to say you'd really like him. It's a good thing that he does make more sense than most when it comes to education. He is respected for his contribution by his peers but more importantly the media and its audience welcomes what he has to say as he clearly outlines the issues with commentary and solutions. An expert that I very much enjoy to watch and hear from. If you are a student of professional development in the space of media there is no greater lesson that the one given by Adam Voigt.

Turn the oven to the grill setting and grill for 6–8 minutes, until the tomatoes start to blacken on top. While the tomatoes are roasting, combine the yoghurt with the grated lemon zest and ¼ teaspoon of flaked salt. Keep in the fridge until ready to serve. Once the tomatoes are ready, spread the chilled yoghurt on a platter (with a lip) or in a wide, shallow bowl, creating a dip in it with the back of a spoon. Spoon over the hot tomatoes, along with their juices, lemon skin, garlic and herbs, and finish with the picked oregano and chilli flakes. Serve at once, with some bread. When Emma Murray talks about tigers, she's referring to either the metaphorical fear that stokes our caveman-like 'fight or flight' survival instincts – or our beloved Richmond Tigers, whose 2017 premiership success was credited to her work as the club's high-performance mindfulness coach. We were absolutely thrilled to spend an hour digging into Emma's work – both at the club and outside it – and learn about the processes and practices that help our favourite footballers focus on playing their best game, deal with both the lows and the highs of the game, and train themselves not to fear the metaphorical tiger. She reassured us that our response to the Collingwood crowd at the pre-lim was understandable and totally primal, and encouraged us to ask all our Dusty-related questions. Footy fans, its time to get excited. My guest on this episode of the podcast is 2017 premiership midfielder and Richmond FC superstar, Dion Prestia. On this episode we discuss all things football and delve in to not only the mental and physical preparation of playing AFL but also the discipline and mindset required to cope with the demands and pressures of such a gruelling sport. Dion is currently in the prime of his career, which saw him sign a life changing contract with Richmond from the Gold Coast at the end of 2016. We get a grasp of the emotions felt after the premiership victory and the culture change which saw Richmond reach the pinnacle of the sport.
