Your resort is 30–40% of your Walt Disney World budget. That means this isn'tjust a comfort decision — it's one of the most important financial decisionsof your entire trip. In this episode, Kelly Bennett breaks down every Value andModerate resort at Walt Disney World so you know exactly where to stay, whatyou're getting, and how to pay less for it.You'll learn why Pop Century Resort might be the single best value hotel onWalt Disney World property (hint: it involves a gondola ride to EPCOT), howArt of Animation's family suites can actually be the smart money move forlarger families, and which Moderate resort has a 15-story tower that mostDisney planners completely overlook.Key takeaways from this episode:• Pop Century's Skyliner access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is a real,  meaningful transportation advantage over the All-Star resorts• Art of Animation family suites (565 sq ft, 2 bathrooms, sleep 6) can beat  the math of booking two standard Value rooms for larger families• Coronado Springs' Gran Destino Tower delivers Deluxe-quality rooms at  Moderate prices — the most underrated resort at Walt Disney World• Disney releases room-only discounts (typically 20–35% off) multiple times  per year — booking at rack rate is almost always avoidable• The split-stay strategy lets you stay at two resorts on one trip while  Disney handles the luggage transfer for freeResources mentioned:Disney Budget Master Workbook ($27) — MyDisneyBrain.comWalt Disney World First-Timer's Complete Planning Guide ($37) — MyDisneyBrain.comNew Opening / My Disney Brain 2023Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! A cruise ship can feel like a floating city, but it gets a lot smaller when you spot your people. We're back with the full recap of the inaugural Rise and Run cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas, and we're sharing what surprised us, what we'd do differently, and the moments that turned a trip into a four-night running community meetup. We talk through the send-off at Pop Century (yes, Pluto shows up), the bus ride to port, and that first step onto a ship that feels more like Vegas than a quiet getaway. Then we get into the practical stuff you'll actually want if you're planning a cruise: buffet and crowd strategy on embarkation day, how the muster drill works on Royal, where to find calmer adult-only spaces like the Solarium Bistro, and what a sail away party is like when it's loud, long, and unapologetically high energy. From there, it's the good stuff: our group cruise run on the Deck 5 track (wind tunnels included), Nassau choices and the Royal Beach Club reality check when the weather doesn't cooperate, a medaling celebration inside the Pesky Parrot tiki bar, and the Aqua 80s show that had us talking long after curtain call. We also share what it's like to record a live podcast on a ship, plus the onboard chaos of Price Is Right Live and an escape room win.We wrap with Perfect Day at CocoCay highlights and a look ahead to Cruise 2.0 with a listener survey to shape what comes next. Send us Fan MailIf you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation and trying to decide which Disney value resort is best, this episode breaks down everything you need to know about Disney's value resorts, including price, transportation, room types, and which resort is right for your family. We are covering all five Disney value resorts: Disney's All-Star Sports Resort, Disney's All-Star Music Resort, Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, and Disney's Art of Animation Resort. If you've ever searched “Which Disney value resort should I stay at?” or “Is Pop Century better than Art of Animation?” or “Are the All-Star Resorts worth it?” this episode is for you.We start with the history of Disney value resorts and why Disney created them in the first place. Learn how Disney went from only offering deluxe and moderate hotels to building the All-Star Resorts as an affordable on-property option, and how that decision changed Disney vacations forever. We also break down the fascinating story behind Pop Century and Art of Animation, including how half of the original resort was abandoned after the September 11 attacks and later reimagined into one of the most popular family resorts at Walt Disney World. Then we answer the biggest planning questions families have:What is the cheapest Disney resort?Which Disney value resort has the best transportation?Do Disney value resorts share buses?Which resort is best for a family of 5 or 6?Is Art of Animation worth the price? Is Pop Century the best value resort?Which All-Star Resort is best: Sports, Music, or Movies? We break down what each resort is known for so you can choose confidently. From why Disney's All-Star Sports Resort is often the best budget option with the most convenient bus access, to why Disney's All-Star Music Resort is the only All-Star Resort with family suites, to why Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is the most Disney-themed resort for kids and first-time visitors. We also take a deeper look at Disney's Pop Century Resort and why it is a favorite for adults, couples, and runDisney participants thanks to Skyliner access, easy navigation, and overall convenience. And we explain why Disney's Art of Animation Resort is one of the best options for larger families with its family suites, immersive theming, and functional layouts that make longer stays easier. You will also learn about room sizes, building layouts, pools, dining options, transportation logistics, Skyliner access, and how each resort's design impacts your daily park strategy.Whether you are planning your first Disney trip, traveling with kids, deciding between Pop Century vs Art of Animation, or trying to stay on budget at Walt Disney World, this episode gives you a complete guide to Disney value resorts so you can book the right one with confidence.Support the showHey Welcome to Well Hello Magic!Well Hell Magic Website Instagram YouTube  Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK ShopReady to Plan your Disney Vacation?Free Planning GuideJoin The Newsletter

Geekin' On WDW Podcast | A Family Friendly Community of Walt Disney World Fans | Travel tips on resorts, food, touring and fu

There's something really special about seeing Walt Disney World through fresh eyes… And in Episode 661 of the Geekin' on Walt Disney World Podcast, we get to do exactly that. This week, I'm joined by Nick and Carlin — who just wrapped up an incredible 19-day Disney trip with their seven-month-old twins, Simon and Wiley Jean. And let me tell you… These two may have been the most popular Geeks at the entire meetup weekend This episode is about more than just a trip report… It's about family, perspective, and what Disney means across generations. Travelin' Tiaras — Plan Your Next Disney Trip If you're thinking about planning your next Disney vacation… My wife Margita and our good friend Auntie Judy are the Travelin' Tiaras — your trusted Disney travel planners. Whether you're booking Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal, or beyond — they'll help you plan a smart, stress-free vacation from start to finish. Already booked? You can transfer your reservation to us and still receive expert tips, strategy, and support — a great way to support the show. TravelinTiaras@gmail.com Bonus: There are some great Summer travel discounts available right now, so it's a perfect time to start planning! Resort Hopping with Twins Nick and Carlin stayed at multiple resorts during their trip, each offering something different: All-Star Movies – a great value option (but tight with twins!) Pop Century – perfect for Skyliner access with a stroller Coronado Springs (Club Level) – upgraded to a one-bedroom suite with cribs (major win!) Caribbean Beach – great location, but a reminder to request first floor rooms with strollers One big takeaway:If you're traveling with little ones, space + convenience matters more than ever. Dining Highlights They had some fantastic meals (and a few honest takes): Standout Experiences Narcoossee's – fireworks views + great food Topolino's Terrace – a must-do (especially the sole + escargot!) Crystal Palace – surprisingly great food + amazing character interactions Yak & Yeti (to-go!) – tuna nachos + margaritas by the water Honest Reviews Chef Mickey's – fun for characters, not for the food Summer House on the Lake – beautiful, but still searching for that “wow” meal Traveling to Disney with Infants (Real Tips) This is where the episode really shines. Nick and Carlin share real-world tips from doing Disney with twins: Pre-pack and organize your stroller setup Bring MORE supplies than you think (especially pacifiers!) Use rider swap — but know it works differently at each ride Take advantage of Disney's baby amenities (cribs, pack & plays, etc.) Consider room size — family suites can be game changers Don't overplan — flexibility is everything One big insight: Disney might actually be one of the easiest places to travel with babies — because of how accommodating everything is. Favorite Moments from the Trip There were so many special moments, but a few really stood out: Seeing the twins react to characters for the first time A magical fireworks moment from the hub grass after park close A sunset safari with a roaring lion at Animal Kingdom Watching the babies take in shows like Festival of the Lion King That first “Disney awareness” moment — when everything starts clicking And for me personally… Holding Wiley during the trip and thinking about my upcoming granddaughter… That was a moment I won't forget. What This Trip Was Really About This episode isn't just about traveling with kids. It's about something bigger. It's about: Seeing Disney through a new lens Creating memories that come full circle And realizing that this experience keeps evolving through every stage of life As Nick said… These might be moments the kids won't remember… But we will. Share Your Story Have you ever experienced Disney in a totally new way? Maybe: With your kids for the first time With your grandkids Or watching someone else fall in love with Disney I'd love to hear your story! We're continuing our March Magic 2026 series as we shift from rides to resorts and build the ultimate Walt Disney World Resort Bracket. We've ranked and seeded 24 resorts from across property — including Deluxe, Moderate, Value, and even Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve — to determine which one truly deserves the crown. Using a mix of guest ratings, along with our own experiences, we evaluate each resort based on theming, amenities, dining options, location, transportation, and overall guest satisfaction. From iconic favorites like Polynesian Village Resort, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach Club, to fan-favorite values like Pop Century and Art of Animation, every resort earns its place in the tournament. We break down the full 1–24 seeding, highlight which resorts earned a first-round bye, and set up some very interesting opening matchups — including value vs deluxe battles, sleeper picks, and a few potential upsets that could shake up the bracket early. Along the way, we debate controversial rankings, question whether location outweighs theming, and discuss which resorts we think have the best chance to make a deep run. Which Walt Disney World resort is truly the best? Which ones are overrated, underrated, or primed for an upset? Let the madness continue! Download the bracket

We're cracking open another round of our Listener Q&A series, where your questions take center stage and we get to time-travel, daydream, debate, and laugh our way through the wild world of Walt Disney World. From Back to the Future-style time hopping to EPCOT engineering, this one covers a little bit of everything—so buckle up, because the flux capacitor is… well, metaphorically humming. We kick things off with a big one: If you had one day to time travel to any Disney park in history, where and when are you landing? Parade nostalgia, extinct attractions, retro vibes—nothing is off the table. Then, we get delightfully nerdy as we design a brand-new World Showcase Lagoon attraction and pitch a fresh Skyliner route that Imagineering will probably ignore but shouldn't. Over on Twitter, we tackle what kind of perk could actually convince us to buy direct DVC—and yes, we get honest. Instagram brought the planning heat: Pop Century vs. French Quarter for a June family trip, Skyliner convenience vs. resort charm, and how to tackle Fourth of July fireworks across a three-night celebration.Plus, we wrap up with a festive bite of holiday goodness as we spotlight Columbia Harbour House's Gingerbread Cake—because every Q&A needs a little sugar. Tune in, laugh along, and keep those questions coming!

A nervous dad, two small kids, and a head full of Six Flags memories walk into Hollywood Studios—and everything changes on Slinky Dog Dash. We invited fellow creator Jarrett to share the real story of taking a young family to Walt Disney World after decades away: planning paralysis, stroller logistics, and the unexpected magic of cast members who turn chaos into calm.We dig into the moment Galaxy's Edge flipped a switch and turned a four year old's casual curiosity into full-on Star Wars fandom, from Kylo Ren's patrol to a life-changing meet with Darth Vader. You'll hear how a simple popcorn bucket became crisis control, why Pop Century and the Skyliner are clutch for parents, and how to balance the urge to “do it all” with strategies that keep toddlers regulated and adults sane. We also talk food realities when kids only want pizza and chicken strips, plus why Disneyland's snack scene and walkable layout might be the next best move. Then we stack parks against a Disney cruise: built-in childcare, stress-free dining, and slower rhythms versus kinetic wonder, character moments, and confidence-building rides. Jarrett shares what he'd do differently next time, how to time shorter Magic Kingdom days around party nights, and why the best plan is sometimes to plan less. Whether you're choosing between cruise or castle, or plotting both, you'll get practical tips, candid takeaways, and a reminder that the right moment often finds you when you stop forcing it.If this helped your planning brain unclench, follow the show, share it with a Disney-loving friend, and leave a quick review so more families can find us.You can find Jarrett at jswordsmith.com and on Instagram and Threads at @js_wordsmith.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. We are headed out to Portland, Oregon today to speak with Listener Sammy about her first Dopey Challenge from a couple of weeks ago down at Walt Disney World! Sammy was a member of USA Fencing who wanted to take on a new challenge, and found that in runDisney! We discuss her planning 4 costumes for 4 days (and the logistics of getting them all to Walt Disney World), organizing a group of 14, most of whom were not running the races, some great meals (and easy-to-get ARDs) for Marathon Weekend, and more! We also preview Sammy's thoughts on this weekend's upcoming Disneyland Half-Marathon events, as she will be headed there as well! Mike is flying solo for today's show as Rikki, Scott, and Pam were all unavailable at the time of recording, but no problem at all! We got some great questions from that chat and even opened up the phone lines for a great trip report from a caller in South Carolina!
