The DMSW Podcast: Talking all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars is an absolute gem in the podcasting world. With its combination of heart, humor, and hot takes, host Johnny brings a unique and entertaining perspective to each episode. Covering topics from all realms of Disney, this podcast offers a well-rounded and comprehensive look at everything related to these beloved franchises.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is Johnny's passion for all things Disney. His love for the subject matter truly shines through in every episode. Whether he's sharing interesting facts, discussing recent news, or providing his own reviews, it's clear that he genuinely cares about this podcast and the people who connect with it. This genuine enthusiasm makes for a captivating listen that keeps listeners engaged and entertained.
Additionally, The DMSW Podcast offers a great balance between different aspects of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. It covers everything under the Disney umbrella without being too heavy-handed with any particular topic. From in-depth discussions on movies and TV shows to hot takes on controversial subjects within these fandoms, there is something for everyone. Johnny also invites listeners to join in on the debate by sharing their own opinions, which adds an interactive element to the show.
While there are many positives to The DMSW Podcast, one potential downside is that some listeners may not agree with Johnny's opinions or hot takes on certain topics. However, this can also be seen as a positive aspect as it encourages healthy discussion and provides a fresh perspective that goes against the grain of typical Disney fans. Ultimately, it depends on personal taste whether this aspect is viewed as positive or negative.
In conclusion, The DMSW Podcast: Talking all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars is an exceptional podcast that delivers quality content week after week. Johnny's dedication to creating an engaging and entertaining show is evident in every episode. Whether you're a die-hard fan of these franchises or just looking for a fun and informative podcast, The DMSW Podcast is a can't-miss choice. Well the Road to 100 Series comes to a close, and I could not think of a better guest to close us out strong than KG! KG hosts the Living the KG Life and is a fellow Boston based Disney podcaster. When I think of Disneyland and big time Disney fans, 2 of the first names I think of are Dave (@daveifornia) and Q (@qs_trips). If someone asked me to come up with a list of 10 MUST FOLLOW IG accounts to recommend someone new just coming into the world of the online Disney community should follow, Dave and Q would both be on that list for me. Not only do Dave and Q both make great content, but these guys are 2 of the kindest and most supportive people you can meet in the entire Disney fan base. I am absolutely honored that they both were willing to come on my podcast for this episode, and that they both agreed to come back for the idea I have for my 100th episode as well. The road to 100 series continues to roll down the tracks and tonight I could not be more excited to introduce you all to this group of Idiots. Don't worry though, for this group, that word is actually a compliment because on this episode I welcome on Kaity, Marissa, and Stephen from the Idiot's Guide to Imagineering. This trio have quickly become some of my best friends in this Disney podcasting and Disney Instagram community. I have had the honor of being invited onto their show 4 times now, twice as a guest judge/panelist, and twice as a project presenter. Their show does a lot of armchair imagineering content, and they also do an interview series with past Disney Imagineers, but most importantly they will make laugh each and every week, and you will feel like you are making new Disney friends every time you listen to their show. Things are picking up steam now in The DMSW Podcast Road to 100 series! Alex from the Main Street Mechies Podcast joins us for the 2nd episode release of this week. Alex cohosts his show with his Disney bestie Noah, and the majority of their episodes are Armchair Imagineering focussed, but they also do a great job with their trip reports, inviting special guests on and interviewing them, as well as playing games and talking Disney current events as well. Alex and Noah run a quality show top to bottom, they have great banter and rapport with each other, and they put out some content on Instagram that you just cannot find anywhere else in the Disney space right now. Not a lot of bells and whistles needed for this description. It's a good old fashioned rankings type of podcast episode, and I give my Top 10 Disney Animated movies of all time. I throw a few honorable mentions out there, and I also list the animated movies I have still some how some way not found a chance to watch yet. This was a fun episode topic to discuss, but enjoy this solo hosted episode, because its going to be the last one for a pretty long stretch coming up. I have been working hard behind the scenes to line up a BUNCH of fantastic guests for you guys to listen to, and I am also in the podcast secret lab working on a project for my 100th episode that I really hope you will enjoy as well. Well it's been a long time since we've had to do a "You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?" episode, but this one has been brewing for a few weeks behind the scenes. It started with the announcement that Mando was not coming back for a 4th season and instead was being made into a movie. Then out of nowhere Disney dropped the announcement that we were going to get Moana 2 as a movie, in November of this year. Having to watch the Chiefs win another championship, along with the combo of a Disney+ commercial near the end of the game pushed me over the edge though, and driving home I knew the fire was finally ready to come out, so I had to turn the mic on and change up the episode plans for this week, and let you guys know what was going on with my opinions on this one.The DMSW Podcast is proud to be a podcast partner with the ConciEARS Travel Agency! Well it has been a few weeks, but I hope the idea I had for this episode turns out to be worth the wait for you. I took some time off for the holidays to relax with my family, then we hit my birthday and New Years Day, and we made a BIG announcement for the future of the podcast on Instagram. When I talked about that BIG announcement here on the podcast for the first time, I wanted to make sure it was an extra special episode. I have always wanted to record LIVE from somewhere on WDW property, and with the park hopping time restrictions FINALLY being lifted, I thought why not take "The 4 Park Challenge" to the next level, and not just visit all 4 parks in the same day, but bring my recording equipment with me and record a full episode, by going to all 4 parks and recording a segment at each of them. Hopefully you guys get a kick out of the background ambiance during this episode! The gears are already spinning for future episode ideas that I can return to the parks to record as well, so hopefully this episode is something you all enjoy. Now, as for that big announcement...I am so happy to announce that I have picked up my first ever full podcast sponsor, and I could not be more excited to let you all know that The DMSW Podcast is now officially a podcast partner of the ConciEARS Travel Agency. You can find ConciEARS on Instagram at the account @conciears and if you have questions about your upcoming vacation, or would like help planning your next trip, click this link to take you to a google form to get you in touch with the perfect travel planner.I will have more guests, and more information to talk all things ConciEARS with you going forward, but trust me when I say, this partnership will not change me, the content I make for this podcast, or for my Instagram feed. This only means more fun for you as listeners and followers through everything I am trying to create, because I now have an entire travel agency ready to have some fun with me going forward too. This is a SPOILER HEAVY review for Loki Season 2.I have been so excited to talk about this Disney+ show on the podcast because in my opinion it was far and away the BEST MCU project we have see brought to the streaming site so far. I was blow away by the acting performances, the music, and most of the writing and story telling they did this season. I feel like they gave Loki a FLAWLESS complete character arc, and I really appreciate the way they ended the season. It allows time to let Loki sit on the shelf (no pun intended) for awhile if he wants to go pursue other projects, and if it ends up being the last time we ever see him in the MCU I can be satisfied with that. But it also does leave the door open in a way that if he and the MCU ever feel like they are ready and want to bring him back, it will not cheapen his character arc whatsoever and I would be excited to see him play Loki in the MCU once again.Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com

Right off the bat, I apologize for the audio quality for my portion of the interview with my daughter Sydney. I did not realize my podcast mic had not connected properly so our entire hour plus interview my audio was only recorded from the mic built into the laptop and you can here the drop in quality from what I normally try to bring to the table here on this podcast, and I did not want to make my daughter have to re-record everything that we had just talked about a second time. The good news is that my guest this week is my daughter Sydney and I am so happy to get her back on the show again. You have heard her voice many times mixed into some of the comedy skits I have done, so it was so fun to get her back on for a full interview episode. We just had a father/daughter 1 on 1 trip down to WDW, and this episode today is just part 1. Episode 7 from the brand new Ahsoka show on Disney+ came out last Tuesday, and we promised you guys we would work as quickly as we could to record, edit, and post these recap episodes to get you some Ahsoka content to help keep you entertained in between the release of the episodes on Disney+. Well this episode is officially 1 week late, but I'm hoping the 5 minute opener on this one more than makes up for the wait to you, and I hope it makes you laugh (a few times) today. I made it a good way through recording this episode last week, and it was most definitely going to be a "You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?" type of episode. I thought about it, and decided to send that section of the episode to the trash bin, and redo it for today's episode release and try to focus the content more on the actual news updates while just sprinkling in some opinions along the way. I promise you all I did not change my opinions on any of these stories, I just tried to dial back the anger on the ones that annoyed me, and prevent any 5-10 venting sessions going off on a venting tangent.Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com

If you go all the way back to when I first started this podcasting adventure, you will see the 2nd episode I ever did was ranking my Top 10 favorite Disney rides. Since I recorded that episode I have been lucky enough to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind multiple times and I have also been to Disneyland and DCA twice. I felt like it was time to dig in and update that list because I know a lot of things have changes since getting all these new experiences. How many rides from the original top 10 list will still be there? How many rides from the west coast have made their way onto this list? Check out the episode and find out!I would LOVE to hear from you guys on this list as well. The best place to get in touch is through Instagram @thedmswpodcast via a DM or comment on the episode post. I told you guys last week I was going to bring in some guests to start helping out with all these movie and tv show reviews we had going on, and as promised, I have dug up the best 2 ghost hosts in the business to talk about Disney's new Haunted Mansion movie. Emily and Clayton from the Make it Magical Podcast are the biggest Haunted Mansion ride fans I know, so I knew they would make the perfect guests for this weeks episode. These guys have been some of the best friends I have made in this Disney podcast community and we have been chatting since almost our very first week as official podcasters. Emily and Clayton are California kids, and Disneyland has always been their home park, but the flew up to New England last year during scary season and were able to see New England in the fall, they got to check out historic Salem and see some sites from the Hocus Pocus movie, and we were even able to all meet up in Boston and hang out too. If you do not already follow these guys on IG, please go do so right now, and then absolutely subscribe to their podcast and start checking out all their episodes too. The movie review train just keeps rolling on down the tracks here on The DMSW Podcast this week. We are that point on the calendar where there are just new movies and new tv shows on Disney+ coming out or wrapping up almost every single week. On today's episode we will finally catch up and review Pixar's Elemental as well as Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Oppenheimer has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon right now, so since our Marvel pal RDJ plays a major role in that movie, we will throw in a quick bonus review for that movie as well. Going into next episode we have more reviews to get to, but I promise I will bring in some ghost host experts to help me to give you guys some new voices to hear from on a review episode. Yes you read that right. On this episode today, I talk about an opinion I have had brewing in my secret podcasting bat cave for literally MONTHS at this point. Bob Iger and I are no longer together, and we are NEVER getting back together. News broke this week with Iger getting a contract extension that would keep him on as Disney's CEO through 2026. The straw that broke the camels back for me though, was just after signing his extension, he went on CNBC's Squawk Box and publicly came out against the writers that are currently on strike and I really just could not take it anymore. All of the built up frustrations come out today, on this episode of the show. Please remember, as always, this episode is my opinion, and my opinion alone, and also that at the end of the day, thats all it is... an opinion. If you disagree and want to talk about it, feel free to reach out and lets have a discussion, but just please remember to be respectful to everyone in this online Disney community, even if you have a different opinion than they do.Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com
On today's episode we go under the sea to visit with Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, and all our other mermaid friends when we review the new Live Action remake of the Disney animated classic film, The Little Mermaid. This is a SPOILER HEAVY episode, so if you have not had a chance to see the movie yet, and do not want to know about any of the new details from this movie, download the episode and save your listen for after you eventually watch the movie. We will go over the acting performances from the main characters, breakdown the new songs and scenes added to this movie, and I will do my best to make it as clear as possible how incredibly breathtaking Halle Bailey's singing performances are in this movie.Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com
We got the venting session out of the way back on Episode 56, and thank goodness because Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was a super fun movie and there was plenty to talk about here on Episode 57. Episode 56 was supposed to be a review of the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie, but once again Disney decided to make a special announcement about a big change coming to Genie+ and got the hot take machine all fired up. This new announcement left me once again feeling angry and ready to rant and rave all about here on the podcast. For anyone new to the show, I give my Genie+ Disclaimer up front and explain why I have hated the system since day one, and then we get into the new announcement and break it all down. I will explain to you why I don't like the sounds of these new updates, and as a life long sales guy, what it feels like Disney is trying to do us. Last week was just the tease, it was the spoiler free review, but we are back this week with the full length episode to go SPOILER HEAVY to review and breakdown all things Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. To me this was the best movie James Gunn has ever made, and the only real bad thing I can say about what he did here, was that its a bittersweet ending knowing that this is probably the last MCU project we will get to see James Gunn do. As a fan of GOOD comic book/super hero movies, his style, passion, and skill set will certainly be missed in the MCU.I could not be happier that my buddy Rocket Raccoon made it out of this movie alive, and cannot wait to see what they do with all these Guardians characters going forward now.Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com

On this weeks episode we do a quick recap of the big news that came out of Star Wars Celebration in London, and then we hit the "M" category from DMSW in a big way! One of the first Marvel topics I wanted to do back when I started this podcast was to go through and rank the entire MCU and we get that party started in this episode with part 1 of what we will be 2 episode adventure to get through the entire list. We start at movie #31 and stop just outside the top 10 with my #11 favorite. How does my list compare to yours? Reach out on Instagram and LET'S Talk about it! I would love to hear all of your favorite MCU movies. Share your top 5, your top 10, or tell me your LEAST favorites. Whatever opinions you want to share I cannot wait to hear them!Follow and Interact with the show on Instagram...@thedmswpodcastFollow and Interact with the show on Facebook...Facebook PAGE for The DMSW PodcastSend the show an email...thedmswpodcast@gmail.com
