If you're wondering whether or not to wear a costume to a Halloween party at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, here's what you need to know.Does Everyone Dress up at Disney Parks Halloween Parties?Disney Halloween parties are very fun events and, of course, Halloween is a time when many people love to dress up. But if you're heading to your first Disney Halloween party and you're wondering if you should bring a costume on vacation with you, this is what you need to know. Whether you are attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World, or the Oogie Boogie Bash Disney at California Adventure at Disneyland, dressing up is a fun way to add to the Halloween spirit.A quick note to keep in mind is that Disney does have rules around what types of costumes are acceptable (and more specifically what is not acceptable), so be sure to check the Disney costume guidelines on their website before you go.Will I Feel Out-of-Place if I Dress Up (or Don't Dress Up) for a Disney Halloween Party?A common question for first-time guests at a Disney Parks Halloween party is “Will I feel out of place if I don't dress up?” Or sometimes, “Will if feel out of place if I do dress up?”In both cases, the answer is no. Disney encourages party guests to dress up because it adds to the festive atmosphere of the parties, but not everyone does. We have been to Disney Halloween events at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World and in our experience, it feels like a 50-50 split (give or take) between costumes and non-costumes on most party nights. People attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World may be more inclined to wear a costume compared to the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland, but either way, whether you go in costume or not is completely up to you. Instead of a Halloween Costume, You Can Go with a Spooky ThemeCast members and other guests love seeing the costumes that guests wear. Some people really go over the top and it is great to see. But, remember to balance the practicality of the costume if you plan to go on rides or do anything other than posing with characters and trick-or-treating.If you don't want to go fully into costume mode, there are other options. An easier way to get into the Halloween spirit of the Disney party vibe is to wear a graphic t-shirt or similar apparel that has a Halloween theme generally (or even a Disney Halloween theme, like Hocus Pocus or even a Haunted Mansion shirt). This is easier to wear, can be more comfortable and won't take up too much extra space in your luggage. Also, if you're attending one of the Disney Halloween parties in August or early September, it can be hot and humid (and even stormy) at night, so that is something to consider no matter what you plan to wear.Shop at 1923 Main Street, the Spirit Brand for Those Who Love to TravelThank you for listening to the Travel Style Podcast at 1923MainStreet.com.Shop unique and original travel inspired and subtle Disney travel clothing, including t-shirts, sweatshirt, hoodies and more at 1923 Main Street.Follow along on X, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.Thank you for listening and always remember to roam freely and wear boldly.Mike Belobradic and Amelia Belobradic--Media provided by Jamendo

Pluto's 95th Anniversary Merchandise It's the dog days of August, and what better way to celebrate than with brand-new merchandise honoring Pluto's 95th anniversary? The collection includes playful designs that highlight everyone's favorite pup. It's a fitting tribute for a character who has brought joy to Disney fans since 1930. Fantasmic! New Merchandise Greg spotted an incredible lineup of Fantasmic! merchandise at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The highlight? A Maleficent dragon plush that captures the spirit of the nighttime spectacular. These items are expected to be popular with fans who love the show's blend of Disney storytelling and pyrotechnics. Halloween Takes Over the Parks Halloween has already made its presence known across Walt Disney World. New merchandise has hit shelves, and Main Street, U.S.A. is fully dressed for the first Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of 2025. Expect pumpkins, festive banners, and spooky treats to kick off the season. Meanwhile, construction walls now line the pathway between Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and the Muppets Studio 1 store has been fully removed, marking a notable change at Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom Construction Updates Magic Kingdom is buzzing with changes. The Adventureland sign has disappeared, leaving fans curious about its return. The Rivers of America now sit drained, most likely for routine refurbishment. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin currently lists as “operations suspended,” raising questions about its reopening. In addition, new walls at the Transportation and Ticket Center point to more improvements ahead of the fall crowds. Destination D23 2025 Disney recently revealed the maps and full agenda for Destination D23. With so much on the schedule, fans are excited to see what announcements will unfold. We'll highlight our most anticipated moments as the event draws closer. Entertainment News Highlights Beyond the parks, Disney rolled out big entertainment news this week: Vampirina is heading into live-action. The LEGO Princess Villains Unite trailer dropped, teasing a fun new crossover. ESPN & Fox One bundle. A first look at Wizards Beyond Waverly Place has been revealed. The live-action Lilo & Stitch is coming soon to Disney+. Meanwhile, Electric Bloom has released another trailer, further building excitement. Final Thoughts From Pluto's milestone celebration to fresh Halloween merch, park changes, and new entertainment projects, this week delivered a packed Disney news cycle. Stay tuned for more updates as we head toward Destination D23 and the fall season at Walt Disney World. And don't miss our live recap—join Sam and Greg every Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET for the latest news and happenings, including what's new this week at Walt Disney World.

We're throwing on our festive gear and stepping into the holiday spotlight to answer one big question—which Disney after-hours party is the best of the season? Is it the spooky fun of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the cozy charm of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or the retro glitz of Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios? We're going head-to-head-to-head as we break these parties down across multiple categories—everything from entertainment and character sightings to food, vibes, crowd levels, and overall value. We're each casting our votes in every round, sharing our thoughts (and probably disagreeing a few times), and by the end, we're crowning our pick for the top Disney holiday party of the year.If we're being honest, we know some of you are debating which one to attend—and some of you are just planning to hit all three.
