Mike was out of commission the last 4 days with a trip to the hospital that included two rides in ambulances, an unexpected diagnosis, and a few funny stories along the way. This might be one of my favorite shows I have been lucky enough to record in the 18+ years of our podcast! Today, I got to speak with Listener Shamus from Florida about his recent trip to Walt Disney World with his family where they stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort! This was what Shamus called a "Right of Passage" trip for the kids, who were 7 & 5 at the time and enjoying most attractions and shows in the four theme parks for the first time! There are so many great stories about these experiences! We also talk about the extreme weather that took place during this trip and how they adapted. However, the "more" in the show title is what makes the show special. Shamus is wrapping up many years of active duty in the Navy and shares a few of his amazing experiences with us, and leaves me (and I hope you) with a very optimistic and hopeful view of humanity today. We are very excited to have Listeners Luke and Tash joining us from all the way down in Perth, Australia for today's show! Today, we discussed their back-to-back sailings of the Disney Adventure back in May! (However, the first sailing was cut short after 24 hours, when the cruise was abruptly cancelled and all guests had to disembark.) We hear all about what it was like to be on this brand-new ship in the DCL fleet and then the logistics of getting around 6,000 guests off the ship and into hotels with little-to-no advanced notice and how Disney Cruise Line did all they could to make a bad situation tolerable.
