Nearly every poll shows Donald Trump the likely GOP 2024 Presidential nominee, which is why the vitriol against one of his largest group of supporters has risen to near derangement levels. One MSNBC anchor accused White Christian Iowans of wanting to have people of color bow down to them, while another said White Evangelical Christians are worshipping Trump as the Second Coming. But California Pastor Shane Idleman is pushing back, saying this battle is not about Trump, but about spiritual Kingdoms colliding. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Idleman, lead pastor of Westside Christian Fellowship in Southern California, talks about why Evangelicals are such strong supporters of Trump, and about how he believes this country, spiritually, is headed in the wrong direction. Although he is not an ardent Trump fan, he understands that "We're not looking for pastor in chief. It's Commander in Chief." He also points out that throughout the Bible, God has used men of questionable character to bring about his plans. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week, Kate discusses Evangelical influencers, from more extreme transitions, e.g. a fashion influencer who now offers deliverance from abortion demons (?), to the reality-star-to-preacher-pipeline of young women of faith that are talented public speakers like Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson and The Bachelor's Madi Prewett that now use their platforms as ministries. Kate also plays clips from other mid-sized influencers, masochistically watches a couple videos from Girl Defined, and talks a bit about her experience analyzing the persuasive tactics of Evangelical preachers. Specifically, how she draws parallels to motivational speakers and MLMs that all talk in the same way, who do things like verbally paint big metaphors from tiny anecdotes, engineer emotional buildups that culminate with guilt and a scream-crying call to action, and then manufacture feelings of hopefulness after purposefully tearing you down. All in the context of wanting people to be mindful of the people that influence an incredibly influential voting bloc that has taken away our bodily autonomy, White Evangelical Christians. 08 November 2019 GOD IS NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE. Dr Richard Gladiator Johnson continues examining what is wrong with Christian America. This podcast examines the reality that CONSERVATIVE AMERICAN CHURCH is propaganda based upon the fallacy of “supremist ideology” of one group over all others in the name of God. Jesus was not a political Conservative but a Liberal who Conservatives put to death. Scripture Numbers 23:19. The Bible says the Truth shall set you free. 25 October 2019 WHITE EVANGELICALS FOLLOW WHAT BIBLE? Dr Richard Gladiator Johnson continues examining what is wrong with Christian America. If you read the Scriptures in their entirety you see a New Covenant pattern of equality financially, socially and nationally. So, what Bible says to hate, discriminate, lie, follow politics above God and the supremacy of one nation or race of people above another as white Evangelical Americans believe? The Bible says the Truth shall set you free. Trump’s rise is all about American racial politics as is much of Christian America. Podcast archives at www.pinterest.com/powerpoints101

In the Season 2 premiere, Dan Koch and Ellen Mauro interview 6 White Evangelical Christians, none of whom voted for nor actively support Donald Trump. These voters are a partial sample of the other side of White Evangelicals, who infamously voted for Trump at an 81% rate in 2016; these, you might say, are the … Continue reading White Evangelicals Who Don’t Support Trump, Pt 1 →

Will the Black pastors who supported POTUS speak out? Tune in to this and other topics on Zera Today with Pastor Neal
This conversation about Christianity and politics with three generations of evangelical leaders — Shane Claiborne, Greg Boyd, and the late Chuck Colson – feels more relevant in the wake of the 2016 election than it did when we first taped it. White Evangelical Christians helped secure the election of President Trump. Many said that his views on abortion were decisive, overriding concerns they had on other matters. But to be Evangelical is not one thing, even on abortion. We offer this searching dialogue, which is alive anew, to a changed political landscape. This interview is edited and produced with music and other features in the On Being episode “Chuck Colson, Greg Boyd, and Shane Claiborne — How to Be a Christian Citizen: Three Evangelicals Debate.” Find more at onbeing.org.
