Both carved different paths and came to the conclusion that being yourself and being confident in who you are is the true key to success. There's a ton of learning in this episode. Virginia pitcher Jay Woolfolk and Oklahoma State two-way star Carson Benge make up a monster episode of Amateur Hour. Woolfolk, former Virginia quarterback, committed to play baseball full time for the Hoos and has already seen big improvements in his mechanics and game. Benge is a speedy, athletic two-way player for the Cowboys who loves both sides of the baseball. Both are expected to be top draft picks this summer in the Major League Baseball draft. College World Series Champion pitcher Thatcher Hurd joins Amateur hour to kick off the 2024 season. He shares more about his friendship with teammate Paul Skenes and lessons he learned from his season at UCLA. Northeastern's Mike Sirota's embraced his path and risen up draft boards across college baseball because of his patience. Both could hear their names called early in this summer's 2024 draft. Both are now climbing draft boards as they look ahead to the 2023 draft after huge developments at their respective schools. They both share what's made them so successful in college and more importantly their family's profound impact throughout their lives. Arizona centerfielder Chase Davis practiced patience his first year on campus, making one start as a true freshman but he didn't let that detail get in the way of an explosive sophomore campaign where he hit 18 home runs. RHP Tanner Witt spent his freshman campaign at Texas a little differently. He was named a freshman All American and led Texas with 28 relief appearances throughout the season finishing with a 5-0 record and five saves. His sophomore season was spent on the bench recovering from Tommy John surgery. Both are projected high draft picks in 2023 and expect to lead their respective programs.
