Our new episode is about “Using art to live authentically abroad” and our special guest in the studio today is Hani Assaf. Hani is a Lebanese audiovisual director, holding a Master Degree in TV direction from Lebanon. He is 34 years old, moved to Norway in May 2017, due to love and the dream of living a free love story in a free country. Hani describes his love story to turn to be like hell, where he faced a super dramatic violent relationship in Norway that ended with physical abuse. The dream of being free has never died and the confidence he has in his Art was always the only hope he has. And from that was the creation of Frida Marida. Frida is an art form, a way to deal with personal and social issues in an artistic way. Frida’s art is a continual evolution of self to stand firm in the face of gender bias, social constructivism, shame and stigma. Hani created an organization Called FriDawn with a bunch of friends that deal with social causes via Art. They are now working on their project in cooperation with Politi, Skeiv verden, Fakkeltog, Oslo Pride and others. Og med oss har vi Rania Jalal Al Nahi.Rania er opprinnelig fra Irak, og har bodd i Norge siden hun var fire år. Hun flyttet ufrivillig til Norge sammen med familien sin etter krigsutbruddet i hjemlandet på slutten av 80-tallet. Rania har utdanning innenfor statsvitenskap, menneskerettigheter og flerkulturell forståelse. Hun studerer for tiden teologi ved UiO. Apart from having coached some of Norway’s best golfers such as the famous Per Haugsrud, Steve also runs the Oslo Golfklubb Pro Shop, the driving range and has been a big part of the growth of the golf club over the last 40 years, since he first got here in 1975. He was a part of forming the Norwegian PGA and ran the Norwegian PGA as president for 8 years, where he remains one of 3 Life Honorary Members, along with Suzanne Peterson and Henrik Bjornstad. Kim Noguera Gabrielli studerte språkfag, islam og migrasjon ved LMU-universitetet i Munchen og skrev sin masteroppgave i Irland om islam i Europa. Han snakker engelsk, spansk og tysk flytende.Kim har mer enn 15 års arbeidserfaring innen internasjonalt samarbeid, bærekraft og politisk kommunikasjon og påvirkning. Kim har vært sentral for å bygge opp UNICEF Norges politiske påvirkningsarbeid siden 2012. Siden 2015 har han drevet fram UNICEF Norges nysatsing på samarbeid med næringslivet innen barns rettigheter, bærekraft og globale verdikjeder. The African and Norwegian Bintu Zahara Sakor is the CEO and Founder of Sackson Consultant (SC), which is an international company that provides co-project development and local management strategy advisory services for Private and Public companies operating in emerging renewable energy markets in Africa. Zahara is also the Founder of Nordic African and Asian Women Entrepreneurs Network (NAAWEN), a relatively new platform that focuses on supporting the representation of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) women entrepreneurs in Scandinavian communities to enable collaboration, share ideas, mentorship and entrepreneurship development. Hanan er opprinnelig fra Egypt. Hun har mastergrad i grunnskoledidaktikk med fordypning i matematikk. Hun har mange års erfaring som lærer og er kjent for sin banebrytende og målrettede tilnærminger til ungdommene og faget matematikk. Hanan har vunnet i 2017 den prestisjefylte prisen i matematikk verdenen:Holmboeprisvinner. Liv Tørres er en norsk forsker og humanitær leder. Tørres var generalsekretær i Norsk Folkehjelp fra 2011 til 2015. Hun er direktør ved Nobels Fredssenter siden januar 2016. Fra 1.1.2020 inntrer Tørres en ny stilling som direktør for Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies ved Senter for internasjonalt samarbeid på New York University. Tørres har drevet utredning og forskning innen fagbevegelse, faglige rettigheter, arbeidsmarkeder, demokratisering og utviklingsspørsmål nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Manuela har opprinnelse fra Martinique i det karibiske hav. I 1991 flyttet Manuela til Norge fra Frankrike der hun hadde bodd og studert. Hun er utdannet jurist i Frankrike og har videreutdannelse innen spesialpedagogikk og en master i ledelse, begge fra Norge. I 2007, ble hun minister i Jens Stoltenbergs andre regjering. Manuela var da Norges første statsråd med ikke-vestlig bakgrunn. Hennes yrkes karriere har vært variert. Fra å være saksbehandler i Utlendingsdirektoratet, til å lede det statlige Senter mot etnisk diskriminering og assisterende direktør i UDI. Hun har ledet flere HR enheter, både på Akershus universitetssykehus og sist fra juni 2014 som HR-sjef i Miljødirektoratet. I november 2018, ble Manuela Headhuntet til ny jobb som direktør for arbeid og inkludering i Nye Drammen kommune som skal bestå av de tidligere kommunene Nedre Eiker, Svelvik og Drammen fra 1.januar 2020. Traditions around food is an important part of a culture. Our guest, Ampy Heiman, shares her journey of food abroad. Ampy discussing how her food helped her transition successfully into a new country. Some details about Ampy by Ampy:I am 40 years old, mom to twin boys aged 14 and girl, 12. I enjoy being a contributing member in my community by volunteering for projects such as Oslo Soup and Voksenenga Nærmiljohage. I enjoy being around people but as the years progress, I am finding myself to be more of an introvert and enjoy the peace that nature brings. Quite a change from the party girl I used to identify with. I received my university education in accounting and finance, following that up with law school. I no longer identify with these labels although it was such a big part of my developing years. Working with food and people has given me the independence I need to create an identity that fits my life in Norway. So much of what we do revolves around food, I want to bring to the table thoughtful meals that value our environment, the people I am serving as well as my experience and effort over the years in the kitchen.

Lisa Cooper is a serial social entrepreneur with a passion for diversity and inclusion. She is the founder and CEO of several social enterprises in Norway that are focused on creating social change and impact focused on youth, immigrants, refugees, arts and culture. In addition to consulting companies on diversity and diversity management Lisa is also the founder and CEO of Catalysts, focused on developing and running mentoring programs for minority youth and immigrants. In 2018 Lisa established Catalysts Technologies which is developing a digital platform together with experts in the health sector and researchers to complement mentoring and promote other positive health outcomes.Lisa has over 35 years of international experience in top management positions in the private and public sector, and sits on several boards in the private, public and humanitarian sectors.Lisa was also the Chairman of Democrats Abroad in Norway for 8 years and is a fierce defender of democratic values and overly interested in American politics.

Paal Leveraas er journalist og skaper av Europas første rendyrkede mediehus på Internett, selskapet Internett Kanal 1. Laverne Wyatt's personal and professional story spans 3 countries, 12 years, 2 kids, 3 startups, 2 blogs, 1 divorce and now is going global online. She believes we all need to create a personal blueprint to BLOOM abroad, whether relocating to another city, country or continent. Using her 20 years in media and communication she works on building identities of women who feel lost, unsure, unseen but also have a vision to be more than their environment says they are. Helping women take charge of their online and offline identity is Laverne's gift and passion and doing it with humour and style are her core values.

Sherin A Wahab er opprinnelig fra Egypt men har bodd i Norge siden hun var seks år. Sherin har bachelor i Statsvitenskap fra universitetet i Oslo. ​Hun har jobbet mye med kommunikasjon og kulturformidling og har jobbet som oversetter de siste 12 årene. Hun har oversatt alt fra Ibsen, hamsun og Fosse i tillegg til sakprosa og annen litteratur.Interessen er stor når det kommer til flyktningsproblematikken for Sherin, og hun valgte derfor å jobbe som tolk for å hjelpe til med kommunikasjonsprosessen og forstå bedre hvilke utfordringer flyktninger har i forhold til deres nye liv i Norge.
