    Ivy Insights

The Exploring History podcast hosted by Mr. Notgrass is an incredible resource for anyone interested in delving deeper into historical events and gaining a better understanding of the world we live in. I had the pleasure of discovering this podcast after stumbling upon an ad on Facebook, and I have been hooked ever since.

One of the best aspects of The Exploring History podcast is the wealth of knowledge and expertise that Mr. Notgrass brings to each episode. His years of experience in homeschooling and teaching history are evident as he presents information in a comprehensive and engaging manner. Whether it's explaining how he got started and why he does what he does or providing insightful commentary on current events like the situation in Ukraine, Mr. Notgrass always manages to keep listeners informed and entertained.

Another standout feature of this podcast is its ability to cater to a wide range of audiences. As a homeschool parent, I greatly appreciate that there are episodes specifically geared towards elementary curriculum, making it easy for me to incorporate into my child's education. However, even as an adult listener, I find myself captivated by the content and learning new things with each episode. The versatility of The Exploring History podcast is truly commendable.

It's difficult to find any major flaws with this podcast, as it consistently delivers high-quality content that both educates and inspires. If there was one minor criticism, it would be that some episodes can feel a bit short, leaving me craving more information on certain topics. However, this is simply a testament to how engaging Mr. Notgrass' storytelling style is, as he leaves listeners wanting more rather than overwhelming them with excessive information.

In conclusion, The Exploring History podcast offered by the Notgrass family is undoubtedly a five-star experience for me. From its informative episodes about historical events to its thought-provoking discussions on current affairs, this podcast has become an invaluable resource for our homeschooling journey and family bonding time. I am grateful to have discovered this podcast and look forward to the wisdom and insight that it will continue to provide in the future. Thank you, Notgrass family, for blessing us with your passion for history and dedication to educating others.

Many people know the verse "to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). But what does living out that verse look like in dealing with a convicted murderer who has turned her life around? In this episode, Ray Notgrass discusses a real-life case when a state governor tried to apply that verse in one of the most difficult situations of his administration. In his last month in office, January 2019, Governor Bill Haslam of Tennessee announced that Cyntoia Brown would be freed from prison on August 9, 2019, 15 years to the day from when she took a man's life. Haslam had several reasons for his decision. Fifteen years was by then a typical sentence for a juvenile in such a case. In addition, the circumstances in Cyntoia's life, the context of the crime, had been horrible. Most importantly, Cyntoia had come to faith in Christ. Governor Haslam decided that Cyntoia would do more for society out of prison than she would spending decades more in prison.Watch a video interview with Cyntoia Brown Long and explore more resources at Homeschool History: https://app.homeschoolhistory.com/search?q=EHP028
