Her latest book is Bitch: The Journey of a Word. In this episode, we focus on Bitch. We start by talking about the origins of the word “bitch”, how it relates to dog and slut, how it acquired the meaning of “unpleasant woman”, and how meanings in general change over time. We also discuss how it has been used as a pejorative against feminists, and how the word was reclaimed by them. We talk about the sexist ideas it is associated with, how it relates to the c-word, how it is used to insult men, and how it ties to gender roles. We also talk about the expression “son of a bitch”, and how people use the word “bitch” today.--A HUGE THANK YOU TO MY PATRONS/SUPPORTERS: PER HELGE LARSEN, JERRY MULLER, BERNARDO SEIXAS, ADAM KESSEL, MATTHEW WHITINGBIRD, ARNAUD WOLFF, TIM HOLLOSY, HENRIK AHLENIUS, FILIP FORS CONNOLLY, ROBERT WINDHAGER, RUI INACIO, ZOOP, MARCO NEVES, COLIN HOLBROOK, PHIL KAVANAGH, SAMUEL ANDREEFF, FRANCIS FORDE, TIAGO NUNES, FERGAL CUSSEN, HAL HERZOG, NUNO MACHADO, JONATHAN LEIBRANT, JOÃO LINHARES, STANTON T, SAMUEL CORREA, ERIK HAINES, MARK SMITH, JOÃO EIRA, TOM HUMMEL, SARDUS FRANCE, DAVID SLOAN WILSON, YACILA DEZA-ARAUJO, ROMAIN ROCH, DIEGO LONDOÑO CORREA, YANICK PUNTER, CHARLOTTE BLEASE, NICOLE BARBARO, ADAM HUNT, PAWEL OSTASZEWSKI, NELLEKE BAK, GUY MADISON, GARY G HELLMANN, SAIMA AFZAL, ADRIAN JAEGGI, PAULO TOLENTINO, JOÃO BARBOSA, JULIAN PRICE, EDWARD HALL, HEDIN BRØNNER, DOUGLAS FRY, FRANCA BORTOLOTTI, GABRIEL PONS CORTÈS, URSULA LITZCKE, SCOTT, ZACHARY FISH, TIM DUFFY, SUNNY SMITH, JON WISMAN, WILLIAM BUCKNER, PAUL-GEORGE ARNAUD, LUKE GLOWACKI, GEORGIOS THEOPHANOUS, CHRIS WILLIAMSON, PETER WOLOSZYN, DAVID WILLIAMS, DIOGO COSTA, ALEX CHAU, AMAURI MARTÍNEZ, CORALIE CHEVALLIER, BANGALORE ATHEISTS, LARRY D. This episode of The Other Side of the Bell, featuring women's trumpet trailblazer, founder of the International Women's Brass Conference, and 40-year First Trumpet of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Susan Slaughter, is brought to you by Bob Reeves Brass. This episode also appears as a video episode on our YouTube channel, you can find it here: "Susan Slaughter trumpet interview" About Susan Slaughter: Born in McCordsville, IN, Susan Slaughter started playing trumpet at the age of 10. Graduating from Indiana University with a coveted performer's certificate, Susan auditioned for and won the Principal Trumpet position in 1967 with the Toledo, Ohio Symphony. Susan then joined the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra in l969 and four years later became the first woman ever to be named Principal Trumpet of a major symphony orchestra. In 1992, Susan founded the International Women's Brass Conference, an organization dedicated to provide opportunities and recognition for women brass musicians. As a fund-raising effort to support the International Women's Brass Conference, Ms. Slaughter organized and produced the very popular Holiday Brass Concerts, which are now in their second decade, and are performed each December in the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. Other cities in the United States are holding their own Holiday Brass Concerts to help support the ever-growing International Women's Brass Conference. In 1996, Ms. Slaughter founded Monarch Brass, an all women's brass ensemble, which has toured in the United States and Europe to critical acclaim. Susan appears regularly in area recitals and religious programs, and has been a frequent soloist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, as well as with several other ensembles throughout the country. Her work is represented on a number of Saint Louis Symphony releases, including the highly acclaimed recordings of Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5, Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, Barber's Capricorn Concerto, and most recently, John Adams' Doctor Atomic. Many of these and other recordings have been nominated for or won Grammy Awards. Susan has performed with Wynton Marsalis, Kathleen Battle, Christine Brewer, Doc Severinsen, Al Hirt in duets, amongst others. She has served on the faculty of the Grand Teton Orchestra Seminar and the National Orchestra Institute, and has been lecture/recitalist at the International Trumpet Guild, while also serving on its board of directors. Since the 1980's, Susan has performed the National Anthem and “God Bless America” on an annual basis for the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Club and, at the invitation of the Baseball Commissioner Fay Vincent, performed the National Anthem at Game 3 of the 1991 World Series, played in Atlanta between the Braves and Twins (link). Some of the awards and recognition Susan has received over the years include nomination by Ladies Home Journal for its annual Woman of the Year award, a special Leadership Award in the Arts from the Young Women's Christian Association, the American Federation of Musicians, Local 2-197 Owen Miller Award for loyalty, dedication and fairness in actions and deeds, and the 2007 Arts and Education Council Award for Excellence in the Arts. Susan has studied over the years with Herbert Mueller, Bernard Adelstein, Arnold Jacobs, Robert Nagel, Claude Gordon and Laurie Frink, and retired as Principal Trumpet from the Saint Louis Symphony on September 1, 2010. This week will see ‘World Tariff Day' – as those in Westminster are not-so-excitedly calling Wednesday – when Donald Trump will announce a wave of new tariffs. Trump is expected to reveal plans for reciprocal tariffs aimed at addressing what he sees as an ongoing trade imbalance between the US and other countries. He argues that it is ‘finally time for the Good Ol' USA to get some of that MONEY, and RESPECT, BACK. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!'. It had looked as though the Prime Minister's softly-softly approach to US relations was working and that we might avoid Trump's levies... that was until the UK was included in the 25 per cent tariff on cars and auto parts imported into the US, along with steel. There is some hope, however. Donald Trump and Keir Starmer had a call last night in which they spoke about a limited free trade deal. The pair ‘discussed the productive negotiations between their respective teams on a UK–US economic prosperity deal, agreeing that these will continue at pace this week'. It is a knotty situation for the Prime Minister because if he cannot charm his way back into the US's good books, he will face more calls to get tough on Donald and threaten retaliatory tariffs. What's the mood in Westminster? And – more importantly – what's the mood in Washington? James Heale speaks to Katy Balls and Kate Andrews. Produced by Oscar Edmondson.

“Is Trump interested in being Constitutionally faithful?” (Mark Labberton, from this episode) “What we're watching here is the operation of the will of an individual on the system, and the system is really meant to answer to the negotiated will of a plural body.” (Yuval Levin, from this episode) “ I think character is destiny, especially in the American presidency, because the presidency really is one person.” (Yuval Levin, from this episode) The transition of power from one presidential administration to another always has the potential for turbulence—often a surreal, perplexing, or disorienting process. But is there anything peculiar or problematic about the opening days of Donald Trump's second term in office? Is there anything unconstitutional? In this episode, Mark Labberton welcomes back Yuval Levin for a conversation about the political and social impact of Donald Trump's first month in office in light of Constitutional law and the Separation of Powers. Yuval Levin is the director of Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, where he also holds the Beth and Ravenel Currie Chair in Public Policy. His latest book is American Covenant: How the Constitution Unified Our Nation—and Could Again. He's founder of National Affairs, senior editor at The New Atlantis, a contributing editor of National Review, and contributing opinion writer at the New York Times. Together they discuss: The authority of the Constitution over the presidency The importance of character in the office of the president The separation of powers and the threat of presidential overreach What American citizens should be genuinely worried about right now The importance of cross-partisan policymaking and a variety of political voices Why we should worry, but not panic About Yuval Levin Yuval Levin is the director of Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he also holds the Beth and Ravenel Curry Chair in Public Policy. The founder and editor of National Affairs, he is also a senior editor at The New Atlantis, a contributing editor at National Review, and a contributing opinion writer at the New York Times. At AEI, Levin and scholars in the Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies research division study the foundations of self-government and the future of law, regulation, and constitutionalism. They also explore the state of American social, political, and civic life, focusing on the preconditions necessary for family, community, and country to flourish. Levin served as a member of the White House domestic policy staff under President George W. Bush. He was also executive director of the President's Council on Bioethics and a congressional staffer at the member, committee, and leadership levels. In addition to being interviewed frequently on radio and television, Levin has published essays and articles in numerous publications, including Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Commentary. He is the author of several books on political theory and public policy, most recently American Covenant: How the Constitution Unified Our Nation – and Could Again (Basic Books, 2024). He holds an MA and PhD from the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago. Show Notes A time of “presidential gigantism” “Is Trump interested in being Constitutionally faithful?” Pluralism and vigorous debate Swamping a weak, divided Congress Separation of Powers Legislature vs Executive Branch “ Nobody really ever expected the president to be representative. Presidents are elected to be accountable. Congress is elected to be representative.” “What we're watching here is the operation of the will of an individual on the system, and the system is really meant to answer to the negotiated will of a plural body.” Performative nature of political roles “Random grab-bag of power plays.” Fear of a “lawless president” “The beginning of a new administration is unavoidably a little surreal.” “ It's important not to over-read the strength that's evident at the outset here because we don't really know how much of this will play out.” Elon Musk as Pseudo-President “ The president does command the executive branch. On the other hand, the president does not command the federal government.” “ When the question is, does the president have to follow the law, the answer to that is going to be yes.” Is the Supreme Court going to keep Trump in check? Overturning Chevron deference “Character is destiny.” “ I think character is destiny, especially in the American presidency, because the presidency really is one person.” “ The fact that character's destiny in the presidency is not good news for Donald Trump and is not good news for the country while he is president because the biggest problem with Trump is his character, is the lack of a sense of personal responsibility and self restraint, the lack of a respect for the need for stability and coherence in leadership, And to have an administration that has that character is going to challenge our system and I think just create problems for the country in some important ways.” ”In moments of decision and crisis, it's the president's character that determines how things go.” “ My biggest worry about Trump is not one policy or another. There's some I like and some I don't. But it's that ultimately the presidency is one person, and this one person is just not a good fit for that office.” Presidential overreach Loyalty tests and punishment “ What the president really does is make hard decisions.” Having room for opposition “Administration is impossible when people on the ground are afraid to tell you what's going on.” Alarm Bells First: “The possibility of the administration just willfully ignoring a court order.” Second: “Ignoring signals of trouble, ignoring dissent, ignoring opposing voices, a sense that they're ignoring reality and pretending things are happening that aren't. That's very dangerous in the presidency.” Third: “It's also worth worrying about the tendency for vengeance and for personal vendettas for using the power of prosecution and of law enforcement for political purposes, even for personal purposes.” Character and mindset Congress has 535 people. The presidency comes down to one person. Dangers on the horizon Checks and balances Laying the groundwork for a third Trump term? “On the whole our institutions have proven fairly strong.” “It is better to worry than to panic. Worry lets you make distinctions …” Yuval Levin's American Covenant: How the Constitution Unified Our Nation—and Could Again What is the voice of citizenship right now? Appropriations “Governors are some of the sanest people in our politics in this moment.” “I don't think that the lesson of Trump's first term should be that people who oppose him should just sit it out and wait. I think the lesson on the contrary is that the Trump administration does respond to pressure.” “Policy change should happen through cross partisan negotiation in Congress.” “President Trump has said, for example, that in his first month in office, he wants to have met every house Republican.” A variety of voices “In a way, the mindset of what's the thing we would do if we could magically do anything is the problem, not the solution. And it's how Donald Trump is thinking, what would I do if I were the emperor? I think the most important thing in this moment is for him to realize that he is not the emperor, and that our system never lets us do that thing we would want to do. That's the beauty of the system.” “The other great political question. What can I get done that I also want to achieve?” “God Bless America.” Production Credits Conversing is produced and distributed in partnership with Comment Magazine and Fuller Seminary.

Corey Feldman avoided the LA wildfires but not the comments on his hat, Kim Porter's explosive Diddy allegations, Spencer Pratt & Heidi Montag grief grift media tour, Donald Trump's inauguration performers, Obama's divorce rumors, more adults need trophies, and Bad News BranDon strikes again. If you really need to brush your hair on an airplane, do it in the bathroom. Does the carpet always match the drapes? Corey Feldman gave live updates during his evacuation notice in the LA fires only to fight with Twitter commentators. His house must be ok because he's off meeting RFK Jr. in Florida. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are still recovering from losing their house in the LA wildfire, but the important thing is that her album is number one. It must be because of the billboard they purchased in Times Square. They shared their story on GMA this morning. Everyone seems to support her song including Flavor Flav. We call him for comment. She could turn OnlyFans to make money... if she hadn't already tried that route. The $2 billion Powerball winner also lost his house, but has two more in the Los Angeles area. Meghan Markle continues her disaster tourism around LA to donate clothes that no one wants. J-Lo wants everyone to know she's cleaning out her closet to help Los Angeles as well. With TikTok running out of time in the U.S. they might have found a savior in Mr. Beast. Follow us on YouTube. And then answer the pressing question about Drew's take on Spencer and Heidi. Carrie Underwood is going to perform God Bless America at Donald Trump's inauguration. The Village people are going to play a dance party with Trump. Drew's childhood friend and Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsey had an unexpected cameo on Netflix's new show American Primeval. Some people are saying he flew the drone that damaged the Super Scooper plane. Lisa Marie Presley's daughter Riley Keough appeared on Call Her Daddy. [SEGMENT 1-1] Christmas songs repeat 2023 [SEGMENT 1-2] Learn to enjoy Christmas It's Christmas Day and I hope you are enjoying life with friends and family. And if you happen to be alone, then thank you for including me in your Christmas, and know that I am with you in spirit. When I was an engineer, I had a friend who hated the holidays, especially Christmas. I thought he was kidding, but each year he got very depressed at this time. It was so difficult for me to understand this, because I'm a “cup half filled” person. What was so intriguing to me is that any other time of year, this guy was just like me. He was truly the Merry Mexican. One of the technicians on my engineering team, and the guy was a joy to be around…except during the holidays. In a way I get it. The most wonderful time of the year for God-loving people is almost approached with trepidation. It's the time of year to keep your mouth shut. Yes, we've spent all year fighting the lunatic Left, and now we're supposed to gather around the dinner table, smiling politely as Aunt Karen waxes poetic about “how presidential” Gavin Newsom looks in a windbreaker. The Unbearable Expectations of Christmas Christmas is supposed to be festive, but for many, it's a pressure cooker of unrealistic expectations. Let's start with the car commercials. Who are these people getting luxury cars with big red bows? I swear, I've never met anyone who's walked outside on Christmas morning and found a shiny new Lexus in the driveway. Not one. This isn't a gift—it's a financial ambush. “Merry Christmas, honey! Here's a monthly car payment the size of our mortgage.” Also, can we talk about the fact that Hollywood now feels obligated to diversify these commercials? Oh, look, it's Jamal and Shanice, living their best lives in matching sweaters, unwrapping a BMW. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but let's not pretend this is a universal experience. For most of us, the biggest thing we're unwrapping is the family pack of socks from Costco. New Year's Resolutions: The Annual Lie And then there's New Year's. We treat it like a fresh start, even though it's literally just the day after December 31. “This year, I'm going to the gym!” Sure, you are, Karen. Right after you finish the leftover pecan pie and delete Netflix. Why do we lie to ourselves like this? The same people who couldn't manage to walk their dog more than twice in 2023 are now planning to train for a marathon. Stop it. Holidays with the Left But let's get to the real Christmas buzzkill: Leftists. From Thanksgiving onward, we Conservatives are given a strict set of holiday rules. Don't wear your MAGA hat to dinner. Don't mention Trump. Don't bring up Biden unless you're praising his “resilience.” It's like the PC police have infiltrated our homes, ready to pounce if you so much as hum “God Bless America.” Even in victory—and Trump's 2024 win was a victory for America, the world, and maybe even Mars—we're told to tone it down. “Don't gloat,” they say. Meanwhile, they've spent four years calling us racists, fascists, and worse. Well, guess what, Aunt Karen? This Christmas, I'm drinking eggnog from my TKJN Trump Nickname mug and flaunting my Trumpiness like a MAGA elf at the North Pole. Why Conservatives Need Christmas Here's the thing: We Conservatives need Christmas. It's our time to recharge, to celebrate faith, family, and freedom. While the Left spends the season trying to cancel Rudolph for being “problematic” (too red, obviously Republican), we're out here keeping the traditions alive. Caroling? Check. Nativity scenes? Double check. Loudly pointing out that Jesus was not a socialist? Triple check. And let's not forget, Christmas is the ultimate reminder that good triumphs over evil. It's like a Hallmark movie on steroids. The world needed a savior, and boom, Jesus arrived. And in the spirit of that divine intervention, let's celebrate another miracle: Trump saved us from Bidenomics, open borders, and the Ministry of Truth. You better believe that's worth a toast. Dealing with the Lunatics Potential Funny AdditionsA fake Christmas letter from the DNC: “Dear Conservatives, Please don't celebrate too loudly. It's making us look bad.”A MAGA-themed Christmas song parody: “It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Freedom.”A holiday card: “All I want for Christmas is four more years!” I hope today you have on your Trump MAGA hat, drink from your TKJN Trump Nickname mug, and flaunt your “Trumpiness” like Trumpian elves. [SEGMENT 1-3] Christmas toys repeat 2023 [SEGMENT 1-4] Government trophy girlfriend I was thinking about this, and I've said many times that it's the rough patches in life that teach you lessons. You learn little from the good times. That's why so many billionaires' kids end up in rehab. And plastic surgeons feast on the insecurities of their wives. Money can't buy you everything, but it does keep the kids close. Government is like that billionaire's kid. It's gotten so much without doing anything that now it expects it. And no matter how badly government behaves or performs, it wants what it wants. Trauma and Government Incompetence: A Match Made in Dysfunction And trauma also unites us, which is why we revolted against our government in the last election. We finally dealt with the trauma. Similarly, government incompetence echoes life's trauma—it unites us in shared disbelief. And much like those trauma support groups, we form bonds over mutual suffering:DMV Survivors Anonymous.Post Office PTSD Support.TSA Group Therapy: “Hi, my name is Kevin, and I was randomly selected for a cavity search.”The People Who Really Show Up Government is that chic we met at the bar who was HOT. She met us at our financial best, not when we were trying to make it. So we took our arm-candy all over the world, galivanting. And when we went to Thailand for her plastic surgery, she denied the bag with the coke in it was hers, and we had to do her time in that Thai prison. She headed straight to the yacht in Monaco to meet up with some dude she met at the airport while you were detained. Who did you call to get you out. That fat girl you ghosted in college after that one night you pretend didn't happen. And that girl jumped on a plane to Thailand to get you an attorney with her life savings. Refusing to return to America until you are free, she's now working as a stripper to pay off guards in the Thai prison to keep you from being violated. Meanwhile, your trophy girlfriend, aka the government, doesn't even remember your name. The Hilariously Dysfunctional Government Wish List I've been thinking a lot about what government should actually be doing for us. Instead of wasting money on things like gender-neutral snowplows or building sandcastles for crabs in Martha's Vineyard, why not tackle the real issues? You know, stuff that would actually make life better—or at least less absurd. The Government and Cancer: We Know You Have the Cure Let's start with the big one: curing cancer. We've mapped the human genome, people. We've sent robots to Mars, created ChatGPT, and even taught a few people on TikTok how to read. But you're telling me we still can't cure cancer? Please. I know the cure exists, probably stored in a climate-controlled lab in Beijing next to Hunter Biden's misplaced laptop. Only the richest people in the world get access to it, while the rest of us are out here doing 5Ks in pink tutus, hoping our donation covers a box of Band-Aids for a research center. And diabetes? Oh, that's cured too. But apparently, it's reserved for Silicon Valley execs who are on a raw avocado and crypto diet. Meanwhile, the rest of us are stuck playing Russian roulette with insulin prices.Real Science We Need Forget sending billionaires to space or making vegan leather from mushrooms. How about some practical science for regular folks? The Eyebrow That Won't Quit: I have this one eyebrow hair that grows faster than my afro did in the ‘70s. Can someone in a lab coat take five minutes away from studying the mating habits of fire ants to fix this?Butt Hair Be Gone: Why do we have hair growing in places nobody wants it? Between the ears, the nose, and—let's just say it—the nether regions, I'm starting to think nature is just trolling us. And while we're at it, does my nose hair have to turn gray? Nothing screams “distinguished gentleman” like a silvery vine hanging out of your nostril.Anti-Sweat Technology: Forget curing male-pattern baldness. I'd rather have a government-funded lotion that stops my pits from looking like Niagara Falls every summer. Priorities, people.Free Wi-Fi and No Toll Roads: Is That Too Much to Ask? Here's another idea: free Wi-Fi everywhere. If we can find funding for shrimp on treadmills (true story—Google it), then we can surely give Americans free internet access. You know, so we can stream cat videos in peace without selling our souls to Comcast. And toll roads? Enough already. We've paid for these roads ten times over. What are they paving these highways with, Gucci loafers? If the government insists on charging us to drive on roads we already own, the least they could do is throw in a free car wash or a pack of gum.Government Waste: You Can't Make This Up The real comedy gold lies in what the government is spending our money on. Some of this stuff sounds like rejected plotlines from “Veep.”Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.
We the people so privileged to live in America have so much to be thankful for. God has allowed us to live in the greatest nation in human history, in my opinion. How grateful we should be. Thanks be unto God for His incredible gifts to mankind. There are so many things to be thankful for. And we should approach this wonderful time of year with gratitude and Thanksgiving Day, and Thanksgiving week, and all year long, we should:GIVE THANKSAnd you are thankful, are you not my fellow Americans, for so much, so much that you have, so many opportunities that you have, and the life which God has given you to lead? You are thankful and grateful, are you not?Our forefathers, as they established America one-of-a-kind, the pilgrims and others, did exactly that:THEY GAVE THANKS OVER AND AGAINThose who came first to America brought with them a deeply rooted sense of gratitude for all good things. They were grateful to God for everything, the Great Giver of all things. They thanked their God with works and prayers. They sat aside a day in the fall, after harvest, to be especially thankful for all that God's earth had bestowed. They sat aside Thanksgiving Day to be grateful and to celebrate. The harvest reap assured them of survival and prosperity during the harsh winter to come and they were grateful. The earth gave and they harvested. The earth bestowed the bounty of God and they reaped the harvest, with gratitude and with thanksgiving. Even as they, the first ones here, thanked the God Creator for these unspeakable, incredible gifts, so should we.So, amidst the fun and fellowship of Thanksgiving Day and week, we should set aside time to be grateful. We should tell others of our gratitude and in a world so often negative and spiteful, let our attitude be positive and think about those things which are good, for there are so many of them. When households and humans the world over die every day, we should be grateful for life, for living, and for the lifestyle we enjoy. Opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is everywhere, thanks be to God. We can start by serving HIM, and others. We can work and be productive. We can learn and train. We can earn, and profit, and grow, grow personally and professionally in so many ways. And we can do that every day, EVERY DAY, and especially this day which the Lord hath made. Thanks be to God for opportunity, for the freedom which creates that opportunity. So we celebrate life and we who are pro–life pray that there may be no abortion. That life, man and woman, and family will be governed by Biblical principles. That the elderly will be loved and live as long as possible. That we will educate, and train up our young in the right ways so that when they are mature, they will take responsibility for our great country, protect the American way, and revive us again with a deep sense of morality. How thankful so many of us would be for such a revival, the revival of love and respect for our Lord and our great country. We should help them learn the lessons of grateful hearts. And surely, we should be grateful for family and friends, should we not? Those closest to us may be the least appreciated. We should share our love with them and tell them our feelings. We should thank them, and love them for all that they do and all that they are. There are those who do so much, give so much to us without thanks. Like a loving spouse. And our children, spreading their love and joy. And for our friends, ready in our time of need, sharing life with us and making it better. We should not only be thankful for all of them, but tell them so, and share the love we feel for them. So that we honor our Lord at Thanksgiving not only with love for HIM, but for others as well, our neighbors, even as we love ourselves. If you were to see them, be with them perhaps for the last time, what would you say? Thanksgiving gives you the opportunity to say it.And surely we are thankful for our freedoms, are we not? For our great Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our Declaration of Independence, our Rule of Law at work, and the freedom we enjoy to pursue life, liberty and happiness as we choose. No one, no entity, no government can tell us what to do. We can define our own happiness and pursue it as we wish. We can feel the joy of living as we wish and perhaps as much as anything at this special time, we should be thankful, THANKFUL for this. And, surely Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to CELEBRATE, and joyfully so. Most of us can enjoy wonderful food, and the aromas of turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. How good it would be if we could make certain that others less fortunate could enjoy what we enjoy as well. We should be grateful Thanksgiving Day, and week and all year long for the food of the harvest we enjoy as our forefathers did. Even as we partake in the fellowship of family and friends, and the fun and good times of the day, and of course for so many the football, as we eat the bread of the day, we should remember the BREAD OF LIFE, the One who came for us and makes life so worth living. Even as we enjoy the fruits of the plains, so we should rejoice even more in the fruits of the Spirit. In all things, giving thanks, THANKS to the God who indeed blesses America. As a young boy at Thanksgiving, our family traditionally traveled to a local orphanage. There we sang and witnessed to them in word and song, brought them joy and blessings, and provided them with Thanksgiving food. Our family Thanksgiving Day started with that special blessing for them, and even more so for us. Even as we gave, we got more in return. Then, back home where our family tradition included a spirited touch football game on the front lawn, more games, more fun, more fellowship, morelaughter, and more joy. The joy of the Lord was abundant in our household and we were grateful, thankful to God for our father and mother, for our home, for food, and for everything we were given. We were safe and secure, wrapped in the arms of love and joy. How wonderful that was.And we think of the world at large. Wars and rumors of wars. ISIS kills without reason. Terrorism abounds, and the threat of that even in our own country. There is North Korea with incredible nuclear capability, seemingly ready to strike even our beloved America. And Iran, and Russia, and China, so that the world is at war or gets ready for it. We have been ordained, and privileged to live in these times, perhaps the end times which should cause us to be even more thankful for what we have, never taking for granted or assuming the future but living with thanks for this very day and the opportunities it brings. We who can and will enjoy the spirit of Thanksgiving should do our very best to spread that to a needy world. And the best of that of course is the Bread of Life, the salt and light of Jesus Christ, the first fruits of the spiritual harvest. We should spread that message the world over and give thanks to God for the opportunity. Only that message, that person can solve the world's problems, and make all humankind loving and grateful. So often, we sing or recite the words of God Bless America. For it is in fact, OUR HOME SWEET HOME. But God has already blessed America, and all of us. In so many ways, we have had the best of everything. Our lifestyle has been exceptional. America is in fact an exceptional country in so many ways and we should make certain that this, OUR LAND OF PLENTY shares that PLENTY, all that bounty with all of our fellow citizens. Thanksgiving gives us that very special opportunity to share in that way.And as we continue to pray for our great country, we should ask the God of all blessings to STAND BESIDE HER (America) and guide her, through the night and with the bright light of the Gospel at all times. For the moral light of America has been dimmed and we are no longer the beacon on the hill we once were. We should resolve at Thanksgiving to be a part of a new reformation, a new revival, grateful and thankful hearts returning to the very highest spiritual principles. That is real Thanksgiving at work. We should resolve to turn from our wrongful ways, we should pray for God's help, we should seek His guidance and wisdom, and above all, as Second Chronicles tells us, we should humble ourselves before our God and when we do all four, we will be heard and changed, fundamental moral and loving change will occur in our great country and in us. Thanksgiving should motivate us to do that. The blessings of God do in fact exist from the mountains, to the prairies, and to the oceans white with foam. God has blessed America with a uniqueness we should never take for granted. And at this wonderful season, we should be especially thankful for:OUR HOME SWEET HOMEAnd for all of those great and brave men and women who have fought and died for our freedoms, and made certain that we, who now enjoy, can live so abundantly in this our Home Sweet Home. We owe them gratitude this day and in fact at all times.Especially at Thanksgiving time, the words of that great song GOD BLESS AMERICA should ring out with love and gratitude:GOD BLESS AMERICALAND THAT I LOVESTAND BESIDE HERAND GUIDE HERTHROUGH THE NIGHT WITH THE LIGHT FROM ABOVEFROM THE MOUNTAINSTO THE PRAIRIESTO THE OCEANS WHITE WITH FOAMGOD BLESS AMERICAMY HOME SWEET HOMEI personally am so thankful for the Christian faith, for the love and salvation of Jesus Christ which is mine. I have experienced that spiritual harvest, and I have so personally enjoyed and partaken of the blessings of THE SALT AND LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Life has, for me, been so much more meaningful and I treasure and am so thankful for such wonderful blessings in my life. And so I personally say, thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift in Jesus Christ and I do hope and pray for the very same for you. May you and all mankind experience that love, and that salvation so that you can say at Thanksgiving time and every day this marvelous prayer:THANK YOU LORD FOR SAVING MY SOULTHANK YOU LORD FOR MAKING ME WHOLETHANK YOU LORD FOR GIVING TO METHY GREAT SALVATION SO FULL AND FREEAnd as well, gratefully and prayerfully, our grateful hearts should sing these wonderful words:O BEAUTIFUL FOR SPACIOUS SKIESFOR AMBER WAVES OF GRAINFOR PURPLE MOUNTAIN MAJESTIESABOVE THE FRUITED PLAINSAMERICA, AMERICAGOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEEAND CROWN THY GOODWITH BROTHERHOODFROM SEA TO SHINING SEAAt Thanksgiving time, my fellow Americans, may God bless America and may:GOD BLESS YOU!
Our post-election thoughts following the reelection of DJT.
After Donald Trump met with President Biden yesterday in the Oval Office he returned to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach where he led a sing along of “God Bless America” with his new right-hand man - Elon Musk. And the other day we told you about the father of three who cops say left his family behind and fled overseas to start a new life with another woman. Video has now surfaced of a man resembling the dad talking about being unhappy in his marriage and wanting to leave the country. So, is it him? Plus, police officers are used to dealing with all kinds of challenges, but this one nearly cost an elderly couple their lives. A house was engulfed in flames and the fire department wasn't there yet. But when cops burst in to save the couple, they had to battle smoke and flames - and a lot of junk! And it's one of the wildest alleged insurance scams we've ever heard. The owner of the car says it was a bear that scratched up the interior, but authorities say it wasn't a bear at all. It was him dressed up in a bear suit. Now, four suspects are charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How we doing today, Slackers?!It's the day after Election Day and we may or may not know who the next President of the United States will be. In the spirit of Election Day, let's take a dive into all the elections that have occurred since 1965. Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden - those have been the winning candidates since Gen X has been alive. From third party segregationists, lewd scandals, national tragedies, and assassination attempts, the past 60 years have been interesting to say the least. One of the more interesting - if not most controversial - elements of the US Presidential elections, is the electoral college. There have been winners that failed to win the popular vote, while many had massive blowouts, winning both the electoral college and popular vote handily. So, what happened since this podcast was recorded? Who knows? But regardless of how you vote, remember to love your fellow citizens and may God Bless America.

This election reflects a totally flawed Democratic strategy: • Painting your opponent as toxic but not having positive policies. • A candidate who cannot speak without a teleprompter and memorized sound bites. • A morally superior attitude that conveys people voting for the opposition are less educated, dumber, and morally inferior. • Rallying celebrity support, media support, Hollywood support, and academic support—which actually was terribly off-putting. • Somehow maintaining the paradox that their candidate was superior in every way yet claiming the election would be close, thereby implying half the population was stupid. • Transgender and DEI focus pales next to prices, immigration, and a sense of security in a turbulent world. • Calling illegal aliens “undocumented” and the homeless “unhoused” is simply disingenuous, like calling rioters “undocumented shoppers.” The overwhelmingly liberal newsreaders on election night were actually grimacing and shaking their heads in disbelief at the results, having previously believed their opinions to be the fact. The real culprit here is Joe Biden, who claimed to be a “transitional president,” i.e., serving one term, and who broke that promise, fell ill with age, and the Democratic reaction to obviously try to hide it until exposed during the first debate. Then, to preserve $160 million pledged to the Biden/Harris ticket, they didn't hold a true convention but maneuvered an ill-prepared and terribly unsuited Kamala Harris into the nomination. How many heads are exploding this morning at the New York Times and on the progressive talk show The View? Do we have an airport express lane for all those celebrities who will now be leaving the country? We don't have to “make this country great again,” it IS a great country with free elections and people unafraid to make their sentiments known at the ballot box, sometimes waiting hours to do so. You can now support the country or waste your time castigating people who disagree with you but who may just have turned out to be far smarter, after all, than you are. God Bless America!

Losing someone you love is one the great terrors of life. We often avoid thinking about the day when we will have to say goodbye. That is why it is important to let yourself feel when that day does come because through the grieving process a truth of the universe is revealed. The conservation of energy, the changing of one form to the next is expressed in subtle ways that go unnoticed when we numb ourselves. Don't numb yourself! Switching gears rather abruptly I talk about the upcoming 2024 election and its ramifications. The choice has never been so stark, yet what that choice is, remains obscured for many. I attempt to annunciate it clearly for myself and anyone else who listens. God Bless America! Lots of Love
What a privilege it is to be an American citizen, really an unbelievable privilege. If you study the history of mankind, the rise of nations, the rulership of kings and queens, and dictators, and judges, and you look at the role of common human beings like you and me, in short if you compare America to any other nation in the history of mankind, there is none like her, NONE AT ALL!We are a nation based on democracy and freedom. We were founded by patriots and forefathers who knew that there was nothing, NOTHING that equaled the fundamental human priority of:FREEDOMand the building of a nation to protect, preserve, and defend FREEDOM. Our forefathers, constitutionalists, gave us a nation which they termed a REPUBLIC, a nation with constitutional protections which, no matter who was elected at any level of government, would make certain that every citizen of this great new country would enjoy the rights and freedoms, those inalienable ones divinely determined, no matter who exercised power. Our forefathers who gave us our beloved constitution and politically structured this great country counted upon the fact that WE THE PEOPLE would be lovers of freedom, even as they were. They believed that anyone who became an American citizen and had the privilege of living in America would have the blood of patriots coursing through their veins, and would do anything and everything, even willing to shed that blood, if necessary, in order to protect this great country and the freedoms which it offered. They believed that we would believe, like Patrick Henry, who said:“GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!”Our forefathers counted upon us to be the ultimate checks and balances holding individuals, departments, and all of government accountable, voting them out, convicting them of high crimes where necessary, and never letting any government or governmental official take away any constitutionally guaranteed freedoms including and especially the precious freedoms of the First Amendment of our Constitution. They believed that real Americans would step up and with all their might, protect the freedom of religion, and protect the freedom of speech, especially the freedom of speech, and the freedom of the press, and the right to petition our government and be heard, and to assemble in lawful groups at any time, especially churches, to discuss, worship, or otherwise socialize. Our forefathers codified that belief in our constitution, believing We The People would never take those previous rights and freedoms for granted, never assume that they would always be there whether or not we were actively involved in their protection. Those real patriots would today be shocked, utterly dismayed, broken in mind and spirit should they be able to see how We The People have put our great country in such danger, such risk of loss of the fundamental pillars of our great society. Not only is there seemingly a lack of concern among so many citizens regardless of belief, but also Christian citizens who wish no involvement in politics. But, says the Billy Graham organization, you cannot separate politics from the Bible. The Old Testament is immersed in politics. It is about God creating nations, ordaining kings and kingdoms and rulers, and with prophets rebuking kings. That is politics. And our Lord admonishes us to render under Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to make certain, as citizens, that all governments and rulers work for the good of the nation and its people. It is therefore, so very many believe, the DUTY of every Christian to be involved in politics, to make certain they function for the good, for justice for all, for righteousness, for equality, and to know that God himself created all men and women equal without divine preference or prejudice, and we the people should make certain those intentions and priorities of the creator of our universe, of all things, and of us, are carried out. THAT SURELY INCLUDES OUR FULL INVOLVEMENT IN POLITICS!The Apostle Paul says in I Thessalonians 5:21:BUT TEST EVERYTHNG; HOLD FAST TO WHAT IS GOOD!We should remember that apostolic admonition when we vote. And vote we must, for that is the ultimate act of involvement, political decision making, which is not only our right as citizens and Christians, but our duty as well. It is, in my view, the ultimate betrayal of the privileges we enjoy as citizens and Christians, if for any reason we do not vote. Where there is good to be done, it is our duty to do that good. It is our duty to vote for the very best people who will exercise the power of our governments and do the most good.Often, the choices we have are limited. The people for whom we can vote may not be to our liking or the policies they espouse may be somewhat different, less perfect than we might require. But hear the words of James Dobson and Family Talk:“I'M NOT VOTING FOR THE PERSON. I'M VOTING FOR THE PLATFORM!”That, I do believe, is good advice for we are voting not necessarily for the person. We are however voting for a politician, none of whom is perfect by any means, and we are not voting for a pastor. It should matter not about the personality of the person but the platform, the priorities. The vote we cast should not be on the basis of a like or dislike for an individual, but on past performance, the actual works, deeds, words, of the person to whom we would delegate the power to rule. We should examine carefully, past performance, points of view, the platforms and policies offered, and vote for that person who would do the most good for America and its citizens, WE THE PEOPLE! We should vote for leaders who would protect and preserve America, and our Constitution, and our freedoms, for that is POLITICS.So, in the words of Franklin Graham, we should first and foremost:PRAY.Pray that God would give us the right options in potential rulers. Pray that God would give us wisdom to discern and understand how to vote right. Then, from our Lord's prayer, comes the ultimate result:THY WILL BE DONE.And, having done everything that we could do and should do, the will of our Lord will have been accomplished. What a job, what a privilege, what a blessing to be an American citizen and to live in this great country as millions the world over wish to do. So, as we vote, and our nation reforms its political structure we should say in prayer with all our hearts:GOD BLESS AMERICA!
For the last few years, patriotism has been stuck in the wheelhouse of the GOP. A Gallup poll from June shows that 60% of Republicans — compared to 29% of Democrats — express extreme pride in being American. Donald Trump wraps himself in flags at each rally, walking out to God Bless America. But recently, Democrats have been taking it back, little by little. At a rally in Philadelphia, the crowd erupted into chants of, “USA! USA! USA!” and at the DNC, former Republican representative Adam Kinzinger proclaimed, “The Democrats are as patriotic as us.” That same night, Kamala Harris claimed that Americans all have the “fundamental freedom” to clean air and water, and the right to an environment free from the pollutants that “drive the climate crisis.” A group of researchers at New York University, led by Katherine Mason, are investigating this unlikely pairing – flag-waving, steak grilling, good ol' American patriotism and climate change. They released a new study measuring the effectiveness of this combination in changing stubborn minds. This week, host Brooke Gladstone sits down with Katherine Mason to discuss the effectiveness of combining patriotism with climate change, and how to harness peoples' inherent psychological need for stability to promote social change. Every four years it seems, we the people are told that we will face the most important election ever held in America, that for the President of the United States, and of course, the 435 representatives of the House in Congress, and as many as 35 U. S. Senators, in addition of course to state and local elections as well. EVERY FOUR YEARS!But many politicos, and even so very many Christian and evangelical leaders do state unequivocally that elections 2024 are THE MOST IMPORTANT ever held in the history of our great country. Franklin Graham is one of them. And so is Tony Perkins. And so is Brent Bozell of Media Research Council. And very passionately so is Dr. James Dobson, he of Family Talk ministries, along with his very own Gary Bauer and Michelle Bachman. It may very well be, my fellow Americans, the most important election year in the history of our great country and so I ask:DO YOU INTEND TO VOTE?And, as you vote, will you really know the candidates, the issues, what will happen if certain individuals are elected and will you render an:INFORMED VOTE?Will you?I for one, and so many others in the Crawford Broadcasting Company, say to you, our faithful and loyal listeners and the Christians who get daily value from our stations that:YOU MUST VOTE!I believe it is your duty as a Christian, and in the case of these elections, clearly your duty as an American citizen (a legal American citizen) to:VOTE.Again, I say unequivocally:YOU MUST VOTE! WILL YOU?America, says Franklin Graham, has drifted far from the biblical values that once stood as our rock-solid foundations. We have turned our back on God and the results have been devastating.Progressive, liberal thought and activism, says Graham, have so contaminated the mainstream of American life and culture that once unthinkable abominations such as same sex marriage, abortion on demand, and transgender advocacy have become dogma in one major party's platform! It is not difficult at all to identify to which party Graham refers. That is clearly the Democrat party, and the head of that Democrat ticket, Kamala Harris and indeed every bit as much so Tim Walz, the would-be Vice President, and so many others. That leads to the question, rightly posed:CAN ANY REAL CHRISTIAN VOTE FOR HARRIS-WALZ AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY?The answer of course is a resounding:NO!Democrats champion government control, not only through a socialistic (socialism) approach to government, but even in some extreme ways to the brutal Marxism itself. Democrats are by no means persuaded by the realistic and right-on philosophy of Winston Churchill, Great Britain's great Prime Minister who said:“SOCIALISM IS THE PHILOSOPHY OF FAILURE, THE CREED OFIGNORANCE, AND THE GOSPEL OF ENVY.”And more from Churchill:“THE INHERENT VIRTUE OF SOCIALISM IS THE EQUAL SHARING OFMISERIES!”The socialistic approaches of the Democrats and Harris-Walz will lead America down the path of socialism and worse in the four years to come if they are elected.Harris is an avowed, open, fully supportive advocate of absolutely no restrictions of any kind by federal, state, or local governments, on:ABORTION.Democrats do not want to leave abortion decisions to the states but wish the codification of the old Roe v. Wade so that, as binding federal legislation, it is the law of the land, and applicable in every state, all 50 states! That indeed is more evidence that no thinking, caring, spiritual, born-again Christian can vote for Harris, is it not? As US Senator, Harris was rated by GovTrack as “the most liberal senator, of all 100 senators,” THE MOST LIBERAL! Harris voted in favor of legal infanticide, she vowed to force taxpayers to fund abortion, she believes that a religious test should be applied to judicial and supreme court nominees. She sponsored the unbelievably radical EQUALITY ACT, which in many ways would put an end to religious freedom in America, she promoted legal prostitution. Harris opposed homeschooling and school choice legislation, she fully supported Planned Parenthood, and Harris openly lobbied for girl's restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sports and even women's prisons to be open to biological men. So, the question is posed again:CAN ANY THINKING, CARING, TRULY BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN VOTE FOR HARRIS-WALZ?So, if we the people, the Christian people, the real Christian people that is, wish to be the SALT AND LIGHT which our Lord tells us we must be, then we cannot vote for Harris. It seems as though our only choice is to vote for Donald Trump and JD Vance as President-Vice President, and republicans who are far more likely to uphold traditional American and Christian values.Harris and Walz are major proponents of the:EQUALITY ACT.This brutal act, if passed, would allow male-bodied transgender women (biological males) to utilize women's private spaces such as bathrooms, locker rooms, shelters, and participate in women's sports and sports leagues. Employers would be forced to provide healthcare insurance coverage for hormone treatment and sex-reassignment surgery for individuals with so-called gender dysphoria. Parents would be federally banned from seeking counseling for their children struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion. If Harris-Walz are elected, this brutal, freedom-extinguishing act may very well become law, and every Christian and Christian family will be subject to its horrible terms and conditions. This is yet another reason why no thinking, caring, real, true-born-again Christian can vote Democrat and absolutely cannot vote for Harris-Walz.Here the words of the one-of-a-kind BILLY GRAHAM:“WE WORSHIP THE GODS OF SECULARISM AND MATERIALISM. GOD IS DISPLEASED, AND I WARN YOU THAT HIS ANGER IS BEING KINDLED.”Boy, is it ever. The forces of secularism, radical, ultra-progressive, socialistic secularism are the leading, driving force in our great country. And, that is so because WE THE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE simply do not step up, STAND FOR THE RIGHT AND TRUE MORALITY, and do everything in our power to elect right thinking men and women who will govern this great country and us with it. We have indeed lost our right to ask:GOD BLESS AMERICA.Perhaps our only prayer is:GOD HELP, GOD SAVE AMERICA!But if we the people don't stand for what is right, and for Christian values and morality, no matter the cost, we can not expect the intervention of our God, and we will lose the America we true citizens of this republic and our freedoms have long-since taken for granted. It is, I and so many others firmly believe, our duty, and especially our duty not only as citizens but Christians, to:VOTE.You must vote, and you must vote in an informed, intelligent, issue-oriented way.If you are a Christian, a real true born-again, God-fearing and believing Christian, can you in good conscience vote for Harris-Walz, can you?

Episode 465: The Amityville Horrible Part 1 of Spooktacular 2024 “Is There A Ghost In My House?” This week Host Dave Bledsoe insists he is not responsible for this bar tab since it was incurred while he was possessed by demon alcohol. (The bouncers performed a quick and dirty exorcism and he paid right up!) On the show this week we kick off Spooktacular 2024 with the REAL story behind The Amityville Horror. (Hint: It was all for the money.) Along the way we learned that Dave's has a lot of stories about ghosts and none of them are true. (Same for ALL of his stories.) Then we dive right into the factual portions of the story, the parts about the house and the brutal murders that took place. (The actual story is pretty horrible.) Then we meet the Lutz family, who thought they got a great deal on a murder house but they found out what they really got was a ticket on the ghost gravy train! (All they had to do was lie a little!) We learn that pretty much everything in the book and movie were made up one night over way too much wine and way to little ethical standards. (God Bless America!) Our sponsor this week is Revenant Realtors, because ghosts need housing too. We open the show with a news report from 1979 and close with Marshal Mathers in a song that we definitely, probably, don't, have the rights to play on the show. A young woman witnesses a night-marish scene right outside her home and shares it, sending shockwaves through the town and beyond.
It's Monday, July 15th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Pakistan among worst violators of religious freedom The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom has recommended that the State Department designate Pakistan as a “Country of Particular Concern”, citing its Islamic blasphemy laws as a prime reason for religious freedom violations, reports Morning Star News. Muslims in Pakistan continues to perpetrate widespread abuses of religious freedom, including forced conversions of Christian and Hindu girls to Islam, and targeted violence against religious minorities, according to the 2024 USCIRF report. (p.40-41) If the U.S. State Department designated Pakistan as a Country of Particular Concern, it would subject it to potential sanctions and other diplomatic measures aimed at improving religious freedom conditions. Attempted assassination of Donald Trump at campaign rally As former President Donald Trump was delivering a speech in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, shots rang out, and he clutched his right ear, which was bleeding, as filmed by Fox 45 Baltimore. Just seconds before the shooting, Trump called Joe Biden the worst president in America for allowing millions of illegal immigrants to cross our Southern border. Listen. TRUMP: “And then the worst president in the history of our country took over and look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people. And you know, that's a little bit old -- that chart. That chart's a couple of months old. And if you want to really see something that's sad, take a look at what happened. …” (audio of shots) SECRET SERVICE AGENT 1: “Get down. Get down.” SECRET SERVICE AGENT 2: “What are we doing?” Later, on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” After those shots rang out, Secret Service agents swarmed the president, taking him to the ground while shielding him from any additional fire. SECRET SERVICE: “Shooter is down. Are we good to move? Are we clear? We're clear. Let's move. Let's move. We're clear.” As the Secret Service were ready to move him to his car, Trump asked them to wait. TRUMP: “Wait, wait, wait.” (You can click on this link to hear everything the microphones picked up). The former president, his face smeared with blood, thrust his fist into the air and told the crowd, “Fight, fight, fight.” The crowd erupted in a tidal wave of approval, followed by chants of “USA.” CROWD: (cheers) “USA. USA. USA. USA. USA.” Eyewitness saw man with rifle bear crawling up a nearby roof The BBC interviewed an eyewitness outside the security perimeter who claimed he saw the shooter who had bear crawled up a roof with a rifle just five minutes before firing shots. EYEWITNESS 1: “We noticed the guy crawling, bear crawling, up the roof of the building beside us, 50 feet away from us. We're pointing at the guy crawling up the roof.” BBC REPORTER: “And he had a gun, right?” EYEWITNESS 1: “He had a rifle.” REPORTER: “A rifle.” EYEWITNESS 1: “You can clearly see him with a rifle. Absolutely! We're pointing at him. The police are down there running around on the ground. We're like, ‘Hey, man, there's a guy on the roof with a rifle.' You know, we're like, ‘Hey, right here on the roof. We can see from right here. We see him.' “I'm thinking to myself, I'm like, ‘Why is Trump still speaking? Why have they not pulled him off the stage?' I'm standing there pointing at him for two or three minutes. Secret Service is looking at us from the top of the barn. I'm pointing at that roof. Next thing you know, five shots rang out.” REPORTER: “You're certain that the shots came from that guy on the roof?” EYEWITNESS 1: “100%. 100%. The roof the way the slope went, he was behind where they could see. But why is there not Secret Service on all of these roofs here? I mean, this is not a big place.” REPORTER: “You're pretty sure they shot the guy.” EYEWITNESS 1: “Absolutely. 100%. Yep.” Romans 13:3-4 says, “For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.” One killed and another injured in the stands Sadly, Trump was not the only innocent person who was shot. A Trump rally participant, who was an eyewitness to the two other people who were shot in the stands, told ABC News what he saw. EYEWITNESS 2: “I was just about, like, 30 feet from Trump. And then I saw the people that had been shot. They were bringing them down in the stands right above me. I just saw the man that was hit in the head. There was a lot of blood and I knew there was no way he was going to survive that and then there were two of them that they brought down but it was like real chaos.” ABC NEWS REPORTER: “What was going through your mind as you saw that person with tons of blood on them?” EYEWITNESS 2: “Maybe this was the shooter and that he committed suicide. I didn't think about just like someone that was in the stands.” In Trump's Truth Social post, he wrote, “Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.” EYEWITNESS 2: “Trump survived. It would have been horrible news and worst news if he had been killed. So, that's good. Every generation thinks, ‘Well, we're past that. We're not going to have any more assassination attempts.' And then you have something else.” Biden: “There's no place in America for this kind of violence.” On Saturday night, President Joe Biden made a 2-minute statement about the apparent assassination attempt, reports CNN. BIDEN: “I have tried to get a hold of Donald. He's with his doctors. Apparently, he's doing well. I plan on talking to him shortly, I hope. “Look, there's no place in America for this kind of violence. It's sick. It's sick. It's one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. “The bottom line is the Trump rally was a rally that he should have been able, to be conducted peacefully without any problem. But the idea that there's political violence or violence in America is just not appropriate. Everybody must condemn it. Everybody.” Senator Rubio: “God protected President Trump.” Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida tweeted, “God protected President Trump.” Gary Bauer, Senior Vice President of Public Policy for the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, said, “The Left has produced this vicious atmosphere with their constant demonization of Trump, of Christians, of conservatives, and pro-life activists. They have used this hate for nearly a decade. We must stand up and fight back to save our country.” And Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, told Fox News, "The attempted assassination of President Trump is evidence of the reality of evil in the world. We thank God for protecting the life of this courageous leader who is a warrior for truth and the friend of Christians everywhere." Don Lemon vs. Candace Owens on homosexual faux marriage And finally, former CNN host Don Lemon, a self-avowed homosexual, asked Candace Owens, a conservative, what she thought about his homosexual faux marriage to a man. LEMON: “What do you think about same-sex marriage?” OWENS: “It's a sin.” LEMON: “You think it's a sin?” OWENS: “It is a sin.” LEMON: “So, you think I'm sinful?” OWNS: “What's that?” LEMON: “You think I'm sinful because I'm married to a man.” OWENS: “Yeah.” LEMON: “You do?” OWENS: “Yeah. You're sinning. You are in a sinful relationship. I don't believe, I actually don't believe marriage can be between two men.” In response to Lemon's post of that clip, two of the first people to react, agreed with Candace Owens. One tweeted, “You asked a Christian what their opinion on same-sex marriage was, they gave you the Biblical response, and you're shocked?” And the other said, “It isn't enough for you to live freely with whoever you choose, you want society to approve and celebrate it too? You're greedy.” Romans 1:24 says, “Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, July 15th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Last week the state of Louisiana enacted a new law requiring the Ten Commandments be posted in every classroom in every school in the state — from kindergarten to the final year of college. But it looks like Louisiana will be posting the wrong 10 Commandments. God has recently updated his original 10 from the Bible. He/She/They spoke to Michael Moore and asked him to share the New 10 Commandments 7.0 with his podcast audience… For more of Michael's work, please subscribe to his podcast at MichaelMoore.com. ******************** "God Bless America" — Kate Smith ******************** Episode underwriters: 1) Shopify.
