The dynamic duo go to Asgaard, and then some other garbage planet where Jeff Golblum is in charge (I'd live there), and ultimately see Chris Hemsworth with his shirt off, and then we had to leave the theater as Krystle started cat-calling the screen, being very aggressive, leading to management asking us to exit the premises. Anyway, we talk about the part of the movie we got to see! Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock.
The happy couple returned to Hawkins and the upside down! We binged through season 2 of Stranger Things and have some thoughts. Pretty much spoiler-y the whole way through, so be warned. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock.
Special reverse episode for Halloween! Michael had never seen Hocus Pocus, so we rectified the situation. After Alien Krystle needed a palate cleanser, so here we are. There is nothing to spoil in this movie, but spoilers. Happy Halloween folks! Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
We get scared watching Alien, the 1979 masterpiece by Ridley Scott that launched a phenomenal sequel, other meh sequels, and some okay "reboot" movies still going today. Krystle can't handle scary movies and basically spent the movie screaming in Michael's ear. Spoilers bursting through chests people! Also - the original trailer to this movie is all visual with creepy sounds, so be prepared to get in the mood. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
The gruesome twosome went to Austin! We hung out with the lovely Bruce and Karen Perkins (Michael's Aunt and Uncle) to see and chat about this modern sci-fi masterpiece. Bruce saw the original Blade Runner six times in theaters, so he was excited to jump into this one. Some disclaimers: - Audio is a little echo-y - They have two beautiful dogs, one of which was whining in the background for the back half of the convo - This is SPOILER FILLED! So since you didn't see this movie (apparently we were the only ones??) you should go support something awesome and then come back and listen to this. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
We saw Stronger with Jake Gyllenhall and Tatiana Maslany about the Boston Marathon bombing, and cried our way through the whole thing. A little non-spoiler recommendation at the beginning, but we get into spoilers pretty quick. Give it a listen! Or don't... you most likely live in a free country. We are back! A special episode with a special guest... Michael's mother, the Dane in Denmark. Michael tried to get the ladies to watch Dredd without success. A few weeks late for this Ape-venture, but here it is. We saw War for the Planet of the Apes to see how the new director of The Batman did on his latest. I can feel the urge to make more monkey/ape/banana related puns and I won't be able to keep being strong, so for both of us I'm just going to leave it there. Enjoy!
Krystle forces her main man to watch a movie about a guy with scissors for hands by Tim Burton. Do you guys love this movie? People love this movie right? We watch. We talk. We live to watch another day.
Krystle absolutely hated Snowpiercer so this was a tough sell, but we had some friends over and we convinced her to watch the new Netflix original by Bong Joon-Ho. It's about super pigs and Jake Gyllenhall is crazy in it. Need we say more? Spoilers about super pigs in this episode, naturally (non GMO). MCU lukewarmthusiast Michael, takes Krystle to see yet another Spider-Man reboot. Even with the glories of the Civil War airport sequence, the lovebirds enter this adventure a bit skeptical. We got to see this Edgar Wright masterpiece a few weeks back at a screening but it's finally in theaters! Spoilers and whatnot. Definitely see this movie though. We certainly enjoyed it. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
One of our favoritos from Silicon Valley made a great movie about his real life relationship. In our esteemed opinion(s) this is one of the best romantic comedies to come along in years. It's a sort of reverse episode as Krystle got to see this one first at a screening! Spoilers.
We branch out to bring you some GoT bonus episodes leading up to season 7 in July. Krystle has never seen these before, and finally watching them all together is a dream come true. We are binge-ing our way through the whole series to get ready and will post as we work our way through. Spoilers. A lot of talk about nipples and menstruation in this one. Enjoy! Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and Closing music by Aesop Rock (and Ramin Djawadi). Bonus track in the middle is "Whales" by Hail Mary Mallon.
Another great Alamo Drafthouse screening of an old cult classic! We watched The Big Lebowski - tune in to see if Krystle can push past her feminist leanings to enjoy a movie that fails the Bechdel test in spectacular fashion. But boy John Goodman is a hoot! If you don't like this movie, well that's just like, your opinion, man. I think I speak for the world when I say, you're out of your element Krystle. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
More Boston! More crime! More Affleck! But there is never enough Affleck to satisfy Michael. We watch Benjamin's directorial debut and enjoy another crime film set in Boston based on the novel by the great Dennis Lehane. Is this Ben Affleck's best movie? Will Krystle give this more than 0 precious gem stones? Mysteries abound in this world. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
The BFFs watch an old classic with no death or destruction, but lots of man tears from Dustin Hoffman and child stalking from Meryl Streep... yes gang, it's Kramer vs. Kramer! Spoilers start to finish on this one. We highly recommend it, especially for insensitive husbands who are so caught up in their work (or GMAT prep) that they neglect their wives and family - yeah, Trevor, that's not okay. Anyway, please write in and tell Krystle that you want her to watch Dredd next. Pretty please? Help me out here. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
Michael forces Krystle to watch Wonder Woman, because she generally hates movies with strong female protagonists. Then she realized Chris Pine was the real hero the whole time and actually liked it a lot. Jokes. Listen to find out how much we liked the new DCEU entry, and Michael mansplain to Krystle what it means to be a feminist and empower women. Spoiler-free at the beginning and then eventually we cross the line. BE ALERT and you'll be fine. But you should see this movie, so you have no excuse, really. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
Krystle slept on it and decided to change her rating and Michael had some last minute thoughts that he couldn't keep to himself. You guys can figure out that this is an add-on to the last episode right? I don't need to explain that here? Like I don't need to tell you to listen to that one first because this isn't a real episode, it's just a quick follow-up? We all good here? Okay sounds good. Instagram: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock.
This episode is proof that there are miracles in the world, as Krystle finally agrees to watch The Departed! Our first Scorcese experience is a delight for everyone as Krystle is moved emotionally in a way she never before would have thought possible. A worldview is changed. A marriage bond is deepened. And gratefully Michael doesn't attempt any bad Boston accents. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
This episode isn't about the movie Zodiac... and if it was, I certainly wouldn't tell you. Okay we will tell you - we saw Zodiac with some friends! The men wanted Fight Club, but the ladies picked Zodiac. A slow-burn, Fincher masterpiece, which doesn't get enough credit (this convo included). Spoilers per usual. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and Closing music by Aesop Rock. R.I.P. Chumbawamba.
The dynamic duo go see the new Guy Ritchie King Arthur movie... and are apparently the only ones! Go see this movie. Also please don't unsubscribe because of Michael's bad accents. We know they are bad. Please have mercy. Spoilers and whatnot. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock.
Reversal! Krystle finally makes Michael watch something. The people of instagram voted and this was their choice! The Anna Farris and Emma Stone classic about a Playboy bunny infiltrating a sorority and girls having self esteem and loving themselves for who they are and stuff. No one dies and no explosions. 0/5 stars. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
We just watched Moonlight and we are feeling things. Spoilertastic discussion, so Luisa be warned! But seriously this flick is beautiful. Can't even joke about it. Episode also has some hints for the next one - our first reversal coming up! IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock
Ask and ye shall receive. Shout out to Bruce for recommending this precious gem stone of a movie. Spoiler heavy discussion of the 1982 Ridley Scott classic Blade Runner. Also some heavy speculation about the upcoming sequel Blade Runner 2049 directed by the legendary Denis Villeneuve. This is another love story. With robots. Trying to kill people. Hmmmm... I'm sensing a pattern. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and closing music by Aesop Rock.

Thank you dancing baby Groot. Thank you from the world. IG: @imakemywifewatchmovies Twitter: @wifewatchmovies Opening and Closing Music by Aesop Rock.
We got to see a special theater screening of Michael Mann's Heat (1995)! It's a mix between a family drama, workplace comedy, and teen suicide PSA (move over 13 reasons why!). As you can imagine, Krystle's only objection was that there weren't enough gun fights and Al Pacino needed more monologues about butts. Goodness, this is such a great movie. Opening/closing music by Aesop Rock.
The title kind of says it all. For our first episode we watch the James Cameron action classic The Terminator (1984), pretty much so we can get to watch the second one down the line. Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn star in this epic time traveling romance, but someone isn't happy with their love. It's basically like Kate and Leopold. Opening/Closing Music by Aesop Rock
