In this episode we hear a powerful story of how Brian went from being unsure of where his life was going and feeling without purpose, to overcoming his fears of success and judgement, conquering his limiting beliefs, and becoming an Author and Entrepreneur. About Brian: Brian Ondrako is a father, author, podcaster, and consultant for start-ups on the best sales practices to grow their business. For many years after college and into his 20s, he felt life was simply passing by. A sense of complacency and uncertainty about his life's direction and purpose shrouded his days. However, this dark period blossomed into an awakening, leading him into what he refers to as his "Renaissance Period". This period was characterized by a renewed focus on curiosity and imagination, opening doors to deep learning and exploration that had been dormant since childhood. This curiosity ignited an entrepreneurial fire within him, a flame that had been buried for most of his life due to fear of success, self-limiting beliefs, and the judgement of others. Through this transformative journey, he discovered his identity as a NAVIGATOR. His "North Star" became clear: to guide others on their journey to Just Get Started. He firmly believes that the journey of self-discovery must originate from within, that happiness can only truly be found once we discover ourselves. If we can focus on building self-awareness, he posits, we will gain a greater appreciation for the world around us, laying the foundation for a happier, more fulfilling life. This is a recent episode from the Flipside of Leadership series with Lions Guide Leadership Development Director, Keith "Flip" Griffin. In this episode, Keith and Dale explore the book, The Truth about Employee Engagement. In this business fable, author Patrick Lencioni takes on a topic that almost everyone can relate to: job misery. Millions of workers, even those who have carefully chosen careers based on true passions and interests, dread going to work, suffering each day as they trudge to jobs that make them cynical, weary, and frustrated. It is a simple fact of business life that any job, from investment banker to dishwasher, can become miserable. Through the story of a CEO turned pizzeria manager, Lencioni reveals the three elements that make work miserable -- irrelevance, immeasurability, and anonymity -- and gives managers and their employees the keys to make any job more engaging.
