Dr. Ermin Sinanovic, Executive Director of the Center for Islam in the Contemporary World at Shenandoah University and a Faculty Associate in Research at Cornell University, explores the concept of Mujaddid (the renewer of Islam) and their relevance in the 21st century. He studies how scholars have historically attempted to revive and reinterpret Islamic thought, questioning who might serve as the Mujaddid of our era. The conversation delves into the relationship between time and Muslims, why are Muslims always late? Muslims have lost their enchantment of nature, losing a spiritual connection to the natural world in modern times. Professor Ermin talks about the nation state and how Muslim scholars have struggled with political theory, leading to challenges in adapting to or resisting the modern nation-state model. The conversation contrasts the Caliphate with the nation-state, highlighting shifts in governance and identity. Finally, the discussion concludes with a reflection on Islam in Bosnia, using it as a case study to explore the survival of Islamic traditions within European contexts and modern nation-states.Sign up @ www.muslimprofessionals.us and join a free muslim national community today!Support US @ https://www.patreon.com/ansaripodcastShop @ https://cureyourworld.com00:00 Have Courage to be Wrong08:09 Introducing Professor Sinanovic09:25 Tajdeed, Renewal of Religion12:23 Who is Mujaddid of Our Time?19:56 Being in Awe of Nature26:29 Lack of Punctuality in the Muslim World33:01 How Muslim Political Theory Failed42:44 The Caliphate and the Nation State51:42 Islam in Bosnia

Humanity is a story of suffering compounded with a story of courage. The first story is the massive odds we have faced and suffered throughout the centuries of our existence. The second is how courageous we were to embrace the suffering and plow forward regardless of the odds against us. However, I have recently become shocked by the narrative that is conditioning and indoctrinating the greater percentage of westerners to believe that we are not meant to suffer or face any challenges, especially with our health. I don't know if it is the Hollywood dramatization or the effective social engineering campaign by the pharmaceutical companies and big medicine but over the course of my time in health care, I have encountered more people with a false sense of hope that a cure still exists that will eliminate suffering in the form of a pill or a surgery or an injection. Nothing could be further from the truth. In order to heal and to break free from the social indoctrination that we have gone through, it takes courage and suffering. It will require both of these to pursue the level of health you desire. In order to suffer for a cause, you must have courage. In my world, suffering = growth. Growth in physical performance. Growth in mental capacity. Growth in patience and commitment. Growth in honest feedback. Growth in the areas we had exploring because they cause us to feel exposed. IN fact, if you are not feeling the suffering in these areas, are you really pursuing anything worthwhile? My challenge to you today is to embrace the suffering and the courage required to pursue self excellence. Suffering is the default. Courage is the standard operating mindset. And most importantly, hope is not lost because you know that to achieve your dreams, you have to embrace these two principles. Embrace suffering. Have Courage. Pursue self excellence and win the life you desire.

We as Christians spend a lot of time encouraging people to have faith. However, once people have faith do we teach them how hang on to their faith.  Today, we are living in a world where a lot of people, especially young people do not necessarily see the relevance of God in their life. The enemy is deceiving them into thinking that God has become ill-relevant. They are starting to believe they will make without coming to church, with coming to Bible study, and without being in fellowship with other believers. Recently, I had a conversation with a minister friend of mine and his biggest disappointment and challenge is that his young adult children do not see the relevancy of God in their life. I have recently been checking in with young people in their twenties and thirties, they disclose to me that their biggest challenge life is that they do not have network of believers of their own age around them that take their relationship with God seriously.  The world is telling them that they all they need is money and everything will be okay. The world is telling them that God has abandon them when they have adversity like death in the family, loss of job, or failure of relationships. As I reflected on my time as youth pastor, I asked myself the following: Did I teach the young people how to fight for their faith?  Points to consider:  Focus on the Fruits of the Spirit  Hold on to your faith because your life depends on it  Have Courage and Trust God

Kia Kaha, Kia Ngakaunui! That's the motto for the high school I used to attend. It's Maori for "Be Brave, Have Courage!" In other words, "Be strong and courageous!" Only be strong and courageous! Be careful to follow all My commands - do not turn to the right or to the left. Meditate on My Words night and day and in so doing you will make your way prosperous and will have great success. Only be strong and very courageous! Joshua 1 (*** Read on to access a 90% off coupon to help train you in the one skillset that made the greatest difference to me ***) This week I am in New Zealand visiting family and doing a two day executive retreat. I have gotten to spend time reconnecting with family and also drive past places we used to live and work. I got to drive from Taupo to Hawkes Bay, passing farms that I used to visit as a business consultant. I got to drive past the sports grounds where I played rugby. I got to walk the streets where I used to live. I got to see the trails I used to run and the office I used to operate from as a relationship manager with an agricultural bank. I got to remember what my life was like and the challenges that I faced and the thinking that I operated in. This morning I am in Havelock North staying with my wife's parents. I am now sitting on the couch and reading my bible and journaling what I am grateful for and marveling at how the Lord has led us and guided us and provided and challenged us to grow at every step.  I read in Psalm 61 I read in Joshua 1:2-9 paraphrased "...the time has come for you to lead... ...wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you... ...I will be with you as I was with Moses, I will not fail you or abandon you. ...Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. The price for you to be all God has made you to be has already been paid. There are no exceptions or excuses. And it takes courage to believe that, step into it, keep walking and refuse to be defined by your situation, circumstances, genealogy, job (or lack thereof) and especially what people may have said about you. 1. Listen  2. Follow 3. Repeat So here's the greatest key for me in making 'my' way prosperous. It is listening to the voice of God. Follow the voice of God. Don't turn to the left or the right. Stay on course. And as I have done that I now look back amazed at what we have gotten to do, where we have been able to serve and the legacy that is now all over the world.  So I want you to do the same! We turned our journey into a mini course that will equip you to hear the voice of God for decisions you need to make daily. Use code: THANKFUL1 on HeyGodWhatNow.com to get $90 off until the end of December, 20222. You pay less that 10% normal price. Just $7 USD. Why? The greatest secret of my success is listening and following the voice of God. This is a very practical course on how to hear God on a daily basis, how to know it is His voice and how to apply what you are hearing to daily situations. We also cover what to do when what you hear doesn't happen like you think and how to do this with others. It's not easy. It takes courage. So  Kia Kaha! Kia Ngakaunui! Be brave and have courage! Only, be strong and very courageous!!!

Cheers! *decaf coffee in hand*.If you missed last week go back and check it out because I'm engaged!!!Leaving off from talking about my tearful company meeting and the appreciation of vulnerability I got from one of my employees. I'm just so thankful for the feedback I got from multiple employees in the subsequent hours and days after that meeting; so much support, appreciation, and meaningful connections. Personally, I don't like the fluff, I'm a cut-to-the-chase open, honest, meaningful kinda girl. Which can be challenging, and that's where I've been struggling. I don't know about you but I tend to feel alone in my problems; like no one else has been going through whatever I'm going through. But I can't stress enough how much you can benefit and impact others by being vulnerable and being open and sharing what you're going through. Every single time I open up, I continuously get this outpouring of support, “me too's”, mutual feelings, and common stories that just mean so much to me.Through all these moments and stories of vulnerability I've shared, I've seen how people, like me, are really letting fear, and the fear of what people think to hold them back. But when you just let go, you can be your authentic true self. So what if you were TRULY you? What if you let down your walls? Would you show up in work and life differently? I challenge you to move forward after listening to today's episode ready to be vulnerable and ready to take down your walls. It might be scary, but I promise you can do it. Then, God started to prompt me to start speaking up and sharing the gospel. It was scary to step out in faith, but it led my business to a far greater place than I imagined! When I first started sharing the truth, things were not all sunny and bright. There were a number of people who slandered my name, didn't want to work with me, and didn't want to be my friend. Everybody loves a good origin story, and in this episode, Rabbi Jason Sobel describes Chanukah's origin (Hanukkah). We can sum up the essence of this Jewish holiday in two words: fighting and lighting. This celebration restores our hope, faith, and trust that our God is true to His word!  The light of Chanukah points to the light of Yeshua-Jesus the Messiah. Yeshua's light lives in you. You are the light. Have Courage and be strengthened, He is with you! Did you know that while Jesus never celebrated Christmas, He did celebrate Chanukah? Did you know that every significant event in Jesus' life occurred on a Jewish holiday? Perhaps it would be helpful for us to think of these holidays not so much as Jewish, but God's. These are God's appointed times and, consequently, are relevant to all of God's people. An examination of the origins of Chanukah will build your faith and spark a light in your soul that will shine brightly in a darkened world.  www.fusionglobal.org/mysteries-of-the-messiah-podcast Mysteries of the Messiah is a podcast produced in partnership with Premier Israel. A Statement from Olivia: "This song was written 9 years ago at a time of uncertainty in my life where I felt really tested to feel clear and trusting in myself. It started off being an honest expression of feelings I felt I didn't know how to say in a conversation to someone close to me so I started singing it. But it transpired to actually be more of a dialogue with myself. A part of me is honestly expressing my struggle and another part responds with an invitation to trust myself and a reminder that an inner resource lies within.  If anyone is tending to doubt themselves in the face of wishing to advance and grow forwards in their life, I relate and I also have come to recognise that doubt is a bit like the resistance of the wind - which at first can seem like a counter-force but in fact is essential for lift-off as with a plane when it ascends" Olivia Flenley is a creative, singer, songwriter and artist based in the UK.  Find More of Olivia: http://oliviashine.bandcamp.com/track/daring https://youtu.be/qJuP1aj1V3U Facebook: @oliviaflenleymusic Instagram: @oliviaflenley Website: www.oliviaflenley.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Created during a time of quarantine in the global Coronavirus pandemic, A Moment Of Your Time's mission is to provide a space for expression, collaboration, community and solidarity. This webinar focused on the practical steps that Alumni Leaders and Talent Acquisition Professionals can take to prepare, engage and ultimately activate this critical pool of talent. 5 Key Takeaways From The Session: Whether you are thinking of initiating a large global program, a small regional project or revamp your existing Alumni efforts, here are the five highlights from the session: Have Courage to start something now, reach out to someone internal, pitch an executive sponsor, walk into your talent or marketing teams offering your “Alumni Army” to accelerate initiatives or even try a new strategy. Now is the time to connect with people across your organization about the program and its value. Build The Business Case to gain internal budget and buy-in. We heard that 12% of Citi employees are boomerangs with an average cost saving of $75,000 per hire and that EY has about 17% of their workforce coming from their Alumni pool. The business case and data is overwhelmingly in your favor.ROI requires “Investment” Showcase Individual Use Cases to bring authenticity and context to your program. Michael talked about an ex-EY tax accountant who is now on the board of Coca-Cola or Citi talk about their Alumni now serving in the public sector. “Imagine if we had maintained a better relationship”Humanize the conversation with specific people or deals connected to your Alumni. Executive Sponsor is essential to secure budget, resources and advocate for the program at the highest level, helping cut through red tape and showcasing its importance. Now is the time to e-mail a C-Level executive with your strategy and ask for their support. Micro Communities are the way forward, it is better to have a table of 6 people around a table, on a call or discussing a topic with 100% engagement than trying to create a “one size fits all” strategy. Listen to the diversity of opinion across your communities to develop programming they want (or need). Maria left her position as a teacher and took a chance to compete in the U.K.’s countrywide competition to become the British representative at the Miss Universe pageant. She wanted to break the stereotype and offer an alternative view to those who believe that beauty pageants are degrading. Our guest is dedicated to her mission to empower young women beyond the classroom, and Miss Universe is the perfect platform to do just that. Maria's experience as a teacher and tutor has alerted her to the harsh reality of what it’s like to be a young person searching for meaning in today’s world. Over the past decade, Maria has been researching and building a scientifically-driven parenting guide to ensure that our current generation of young people become the most inspiring future generation of leaders. Her goal is to build a community of conscious parents who will band together to fight the emotional epidemic amongst the younger generation. Just don’t let a single a goal dictate your life. Enjoy the pursuit of your goal with some diversions along the way. You need the ambition to keep you on track. But it should not close you off from others pursuing other paths even if they lead nowhere. Enjoy the path that leads you to your destination. It’s important to look at all the good things in our lives and to enjoy them to the full right now. That is much more likely to bring happiness than waiting for it to appear around the corner. Have Courage Courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to overcome it. Being courageous means being fully aware of the challenges and dangers ahead, feeling the fear associated with those challenges and dangers, and having the determination and drive to push through that fear and tackle them head-on. The only thing that will help you feel more courageous is taking action, stepping outside your comfort zone, and sending yourself the message that you are a courageous person. Develop a Growth Mindset A growth mindset is an idea that, with effort, it's possible to increase intelligence levels, talents, and abilities. Anyone who demonstrates a growth mindset believes their abilities develop over time, tend to seek out opportunities to gain new knowledge and broaden their skills, and do not typically shy away from challenges Having a growth mindset is essential to lifelong success, and it is something that the youth can develop with practice at an early age. Bonus Tip: Everything that you do is consciously or unconsciously driven by one of 6 human needs. These needs motivate and inspire us to take action in positive ways. However, when some of these needs are not met consistently, your mind will unconsciously find ways to satisfy these needs. How your mind does this is not always good for you and can lead to addictions. Tony Robbins identified these 6 human needs and how they are behind everything that we do. If you have a behaviour that you can’t seem to stop, then it is likely that one of these 6 human needs is behind it. 6 Human Needs 1. Certainty We all have a need for certainty, comfort, stability and security. 2. Uncertainty/Variety We all have a need for uncertainty, variety, excitement, and surprise. 3. Significance We all have a need to feel significant, special, unique, or important in some way. 4. Love & Connection We all have a need for love and connection. 5. Growth We all need to grow and evolve in some way. 6. Contribution We all need to contribute in some way so our lives have meaning. The** first four needs** are the “needs of the personality” – you will meet these needs whether you know it or not. The last two, “growth” and “contribution” are the_ spiritual needs_ – these are what bring us lasting fulfilment. Subscribe! If you enjoyed the podcast please subscribe and rate it. AdMat Minute from the National Council of Nonprofits

The Citizenship Question battle is over. We are thrilled to report the question will not be included on the census form. Nonprofits must now turn to ensuring a fair, accurate, and complete count. Everyone counts, so everyone must be counted. Seven states began the new fiscal year without full budgets. Governors have not been shy to veto budget bills or use line-item veto power to cut programs affecting nonprofits. Alaska is facing a crisis with the Legislature failing to override $440 million in line-item cuts including education, arts, Medicare, scholarship, and transportation programs. Laurie Wolf of The Foraker Group wrote an article all nonprofits facing budget issues should read called: Have Courage. We have put out a 5-minute survey asking nonprofits about budget constraints caused by the tax on nonprofit transportation benefits. Please let us know how the tax affected your mission. And as employers, nonprofits should bring dignity and justice to the workplace. Decent Work is a campaign on how to do so, and even how to sprinkle in some magic with nonprofit unicorns.

On this episode I share my interview with Leanne Davies, Founder of Run Mummy Run, the online community with 60,000 Facebook members focused on happier and healthier lives. On work-life balance Leanne says; It used to be the scales with the work on one side and life on the other. My work creeps into my life and my life creeps into my work. It's very different now. Background Leanne initially founded a Facebook group called Run Mummy Run. This was set up with 2 friends because they wanted to motivate each other if and when they couldn't always get to their running club. Further more, it was designed to fit around their lives as being mothers. This has slowly grown from a few people. Today (6 years later) they are now up to 60,000 runners! The group motivates people and as a result they meet up regularly. Similarly they do Park run and run races together. **Today's host(s):** Scot Landry and Fr. Chip Hines **Today's guest(s):** Fr. Martin Hyatt, bso, and Paul Blanchette * [National Cursillo Center](http://www.cursillo.org/) * [Boston Cursillo](http://www.bostoncursillo.org/index.html) * [St. Basil Salvatorian Center](http://saintbasils.org/html/salvatorian_center.html) **Today's topics:** The Cursillo ministry **A summary of today's show:** Fr. Martin Hyatt and Paul Blanchette talk with Scot and Fr. Chip about Cursillo, its origins, its aims, its wonderful fruits and just what a Cursillo weekend is all about. **1st segment:** Scot welcomes Fr. Chip back to show as a substitute co-host for Fr. Matt Williams who is still traveling. The radio studio for The Good Catholic Life is dedicated to Bl. John Paul and today would have been his 91st birthday. Today is also the 50th broadcast of The Good Catholic Life. On today's show, we will discuss Cursillo. Many people of faith throughout the archdiocese that Scot admires have the common background of having lived a Cursillo, including Cardinal Seán. Fr. Chip said he's seen how the Cursillo brings people closer to Christ. **2nd segment:** Scot and Fr. Chip welcome Fr. Martin Hyatt and Paul Blanchette to The Good Catholic Life. Paul said he has been involved with Cursillo for about 20 years and that's where he met Fr. Martin on his own weekend. It takes place in Framingham and Methuen. Fr. Martin has been general spiritual director since 1994 and has been helping with Cursillo since he was ordained in 1984.  Fr. Martin said Cursillo comes from the Spanish word meaning course and it means literally "little course" or "a short course." The full name is a "short course in Christianity." It was born in Majorca, Spain, where the bishop was meeting regularly with a group of men and they were planning a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compestela. First it was delayed by the Spanish Civil War and then by the World War, and all this time the men grew tighter and tighter together. So this weekend experience took place and caught on like wildfire. It traveled to mainland Spain to Portugal to France and Italy and all over Europe. It came to the US through the US Air Force. During an exchange with the Spanish Air Force at the Air Force base in Waco, TX, the American airmen noticed their enthusiasm and made their Cursillo. The Cursillo came to Boston in 1963 and the first one at the St. Basil center in 1969. Fr. Martin said Cursillo is not a retreat. It's a method. It's how we develop a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus and how we live to serve him. The tripod of Cursillo is piety, study, and action, or holiness, formation, and evangelization. This is the foundation. Holiness begins the relationship with Christ, formation feeds the relationship, and evangelization brings it out to others. Scot said many people might have gone through religious education to learn facts about their faith. What makes Cursillo so much more powerful and different and so impactful in 4 days? Fr. Martin said the short answer is the Holy Spirit. The long answer is three full days of time and no distractions: no watches, no cellphones, nothing like that. They take off the masks: cool and macho. Instead they talk in a simple, non-threatening way about things that really matter. Like on the road to Emmaus, the disciples comment that their hearts were burning when Jesus taught them. Fr. Chip said he often saw parishioners, especially men, who would go on Cursillo would come back without the tough veneer and demeanor they left with. Fr. Martin said God breaks through if we are open and receptive. The deepest desire of our heart is our salvation. God created us to love and to be loved. So when Cursillo talks about things that really matter, it touches the hearts' deepest longing. He hears many stories on the reunions that take place one month later about people who have begun to reach out to God in their lives and that they have changed their lives in simple but profound ways. We have to tap into the Holy Spirit living within us. Because faith is something living, it must be nurtured and fed through prayer. Scot said a cursillista once told him that before Cursillo they knew a lot about Jesus, but didn't know Jesus. Paul said knowledge in the head and the journey to what you know in the heart is an amazing experience. **3rd segment:** The program begins on Day One with getting to know yourself. Paul said before his Cursillo, he hadn't really looked at himself before his weekend apart from his job and being a father and husband. Cursillo's tripod model teaches balance and he looked at himself and realized he was not in balance.  Fr. Martin said Cursillo is not a secret, but you can't describe certain things without trying them. "Taste and see the goodness of the Lord." The gift of Cursillo is the Holy Spirit and men and women sharing their personal experience of Jesus Christ. People can identify with others who are like them and then imagine how their lives can end up in a positive way. The longest 18-inches in the world is the distance from the head to the heart, and while you can know Jesus in the head, it is not the same as knowing Him in your heart. Fr. Chip asked Paul to clarify what a personal inventory means. Paul said one of the first talks on the weekend calls the person to take a look at what and where you spend your time and resources to show where your priorities and then to determine what your goals are in life. He found that he didn't know what his goals were and has since found that most people are like that. He'd found that was very me-focused, feeling that if he went to work and earned money, then he could leave the rest up to his wife and spend a lot of "me-time". On his weekend, he got rid of his masks and was able to empty himself of what he had done.  Scot asked how many people show up on the weekend not sure they really want to be there? Paul said a large percentage are like that, although there are many who have been developing a spiritual life already. Fr. Martin said each of the three days has a theme: Know Yourself, Know Christ, and Have Courage. There are talks followed by table discussion which is more sharing than discussing. It's not about right answers, but about sharing feelings and experiences. It is rooted in sacraments. All day Friday looks toward confession on Friday night. They start hearing confessions at quarter to ten at night and end at midnight. There is also the Mass and time for prayer, time with the Blessed Sacrament. There is plenty of time for self-examination. Everyone wants to be a better person and better at what they are doing in life. Fr. Martin said they have separate weekends for men and women. Part of the reason is the masks that can be worn in the presence of the opposite sex.  Paul has led Cursillo weekends since his own. He said typically the weekends at St. Basil's have 40 or 50 candidates on them. They also do them at prisons and he recently had about 40 men at Norfolk prison. Each of the people on the team, which numbers about 20, has a specific role. Fr. Martin said there have been about 13,000 people who have made Cursillos in Methuen, not counting all the others in Framingham and in the Worcester diocese and Fall River and Springfield. **4th segment:** When Paul came to make his longest journey of 18 inches on the first couple of days of his retreat. When he made his retreat 20 years ago, he'd already been married 20 years. His wife Christine was the rock of faith in his family and he said he'd put her through a lot as an independent man as she stood by him. The Jesus he sees in Christine has helped him find Christ in himself. In those days, they went through financial difficulties, even bankruptcy, but after Cursillo he was able to put the material possessions in their proper place. He was a golf nut before Cursillo, but just after his weekend, he seriously injured his shoulder in a golf cart accident and was unable to play for two years, helping him to put things in the proper order in his life. Paul said not every story from every speaker affects every candidate on the weekend. But there is always something that touches everyone that they can identify with. Fr. Chip asked if he's ever seen someone leave the weekend who wasn't affected. Paul said no two people are ever affected in the same way at the same time. Wherever you are in the moment, Jesus is with you in the moment. Fr. Chip said everyone always worry about numbers, but if someone is brought closer to Christ, whether one or 13,000, it's worth it. Fr. Martin said Jesus said to feed My sheep, not count My sheep. He said the witness talks are critical to Cursillo because they put flesh on the bones of facts about the faith. In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, "If you love Me keep My commandments." We need to know that obedience is the fruit of relationship and rules without relationship equals rebellion. Once we love Jesus, we want to please Him and serve Him. The preaching of the early Church was always "Jesus is Lord. Jesus is risen." It wasn't the 10 commandments or social justice. Those aren't unimportant, but they come after the relationship with Christ. **5th segment:** It's time to announce the winner of the weekly **WQOM Benefactor Raffle**. Our prize this week an [8-CD set of Mother Angelica's program “Living the Scriptures.”](http://www.ewtnreligiouscatalogue.com/LIVING+THE+SCRIPTURES+WITH+MOTHER+ANGELICA+-+CD/cid=274/page_no=1/edp_no=20458/shop.axd/ProductDetails) This series brings you vintage Mother Angelica episodes that will profit your soul and cheer your spirit with her insights, wisdom, and humor. This brings the team into an uncomfortable place, but he learned that the souls inside are like the souls on the outside of the walls. Fr. Martin said the St. Basil's community has been bringing Cursillo into prisons since 1989, starting at the women's correctional center in Framingham. They have run 20 at Old Colony in Bridgewater, 20 at Norfolk, 16 at Framingham, and 1 in Plymouth. There is a huge need to bring Cursillo everywhere. About 1 in 100 Americans are in prison. 1 in 38 kids have a parent in prison.  Fr. Martin said the problems of society won't be solved by more prisons, but only by bringing Jesus Christ to them. Scot said that while it's politically convenient to say we need to throw them in prison and throw away the key, these are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Fr. Martin said some of the best people he's met are behind the walls. Part of what's different is that in prison it's barebones. In Methuen, they have a beautiful snack table available from morning to night, but in prison there is no frills, yet the men and women are hungering for Jesus. It helps them to experience what Jesus meant when He said if the Son has set you free, you are free indeed. Some of the candidates will say suddenly in the middle of the weekend that they'd forgotten they were in prison. Fr. Martin tells the story of a young woman who realized that she had come to like herself for the first time. They give them the opportunity to serve each other. It's all about being a servant.  On Cursillo, the clergy and the laity work together as equals. The weekend's leader gives a talk on how a Christian leader is called to serve. If someone is interested in Cursillo, they can connect with an Ultreya, a parish community of those who have gone on Cursillo, to get an idea of making a Cursillo.
