In Part 13 of The Journey Beyond Death, and the third installment of our eight-part series on Near Death Experiences, we explore extraordinary stories of transformation, survival, and awakening. Dr. Tony Cicoria recounts the life-altering moment he was struck by lightning — a physical and spiritual jolt that opened the floodgates to a stunning musical gift. His account blurs the line between the tangible and the ethereal, inviting us to ponder the unseen forces that guide our lives. We honor the late Dr. Stephen Sinatra, a true pioneer in holistic medicine whose legacy of compassion and innovation continues to inspire. Alongside him, NDE survivor Tommy Rosa shares revelations from his own brush with death, offering profound insights into healing, the unity of all souls, and the divine design behind human existence. Their combined wisdom fuses science and spirituality into a tapestry of hope and possibility. Erica McKenzie's powerful testimony shines a light on the dangers of medication misuse and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Her near-death experience reveals a world beyond pain — a place of divine purpose, healing, and unconditional love. Through Erica's eyes, we are reminded that our true value lies not in how we appear to others, but in the light we carry within. ----------------------------- Featuring in order of appearance 09:24 – NDE Tony Cicoria 19:19 – NDE Tommy Rosa & Dr. Stephen Sinatra 37:44 – NDE Erica McKenzie 1:16:32 – NDE David Bennett ----------------------------- NDE Survivor: Dr. Anthony Cicoria In 1994, Dr. Anthony Cicoria was struck by lightning and nearly lost his life. During this harrowing moment, he had an out-of-body experience, watching from above as his own body lay motionless on the floor. Following his near-death experience, Dr. Cicoria began receiving what he describes as "downloads" — powerful streams of original music compositions for the piano. His life was forever changed, and he emerged with a profound sense of purpose, translating his spiritual encounter into music that touches the soul. ----------------------------- NDE Survivor: Tommy Rosa & Dr. Stephen Sinatra (In Loving Memory) In 1999, Bronx-born plumber Tommy Rosa died after a devastating hit-and-run accident. As he lay by the roadside, he felt a powerful tug pulling him through a tunnel of light. On the other side, Tommy found himself in a heavenly place, where he was shown that Earth was created by God to nourish and heal humanity — and that the separation we feel from each other and from the Divine is an illusion of our own making. He met a Divine Teacher who shared Eight Revelations about the nature of life and the universe. Meanwhile, Dr. Stephen Sinatra — a world-renowned cardiologist and pioneering voice in integrative medicine — was transforming his clinical approach, blending science with spirituality. When fate brought Tommy and Dr. Sinatra together, they realized the powerful synchronicities between Tommy's revelations and Dr. Sinatra's groundbreaking medical discoveries. Their collaboration led to one of the most inspired unions of science and spirit. Dr. Stephen Sinatra has since passed from this world, but his wisdom, compassion, and revolutionary contributions to healing continue to uplift countless lives. His legacy endures through his writings, his patients, and all who seek true, heart-centered healing. After enduring years of ridicule about her appearance as a child, Erica struggled with bulimia and diet pill addiction, ultimately collapsing and falling unconscious. Her spirit left her body and hovered near the ceiling, watching paramedics try to save her. She then traveled through a tunnel of radiant light, met God, and experienced two life reviews. During this journey, she was shown that each soul carries unique gifts and divine purposes — lessons she now shares through her transformational work and teachings. David's journey includes three extraordinary transformative experiences: In 1983, while serving as Chief Engineer aboard the ocean research vessel Aloha, he drowned and had a powerful Near-Death Experience. A second transformation occurred in 1994 during a deep meditation in Sedona, Arizona. His third awakening came in 2000 when he survived stage IV lung cancer that metastasized into his spine, causing its collapse. Each experience deepened his wisdom and his commitment to help others awaken their highest potential. Creativity through the lens of a screen writer, Emmy nominated producer and podcaster"Creativity is just creating something that wasn't there."Adam “Tex” Davis graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1993. A scant three years later he'd achieved great success -- as the night manager of Shaun's Bagels in Manhattan. But soon after, "Tex" sold his first screenplay, Sunburned, to Miramax and his second screenplay Just Friends to New Line Cinema. Just Friends went on to become a cult, rom-com classic starring Ryan Reynolds and Anna Farris. Other produced credits soon followed including Spring Break Lawyer, a made-for-cable comedy for MTV; and Gardener of Eden, a dark indie-comedy produced by Leonardo Dicaprio's Appian Way and directed by Entourage's Kevin Connolly. For nearly 20 years, Adam has written, rewritten, or punched-up over 25 feature film scripts for every major studio in Hollywood... and Bachelor Party 2. In addition, Adam has sold original comedy television series to the WB Network, CBS, and Comedy Central.Adam served as Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer for the Emmy nominated, genre-defining, global hit series Brain Games, for the National Geographic Channel. The success of Brain Games led Adam to co-form Atomic Entertainment, a full-service film & TV production company, for which Adam oversees creative content. Along with long-time friend, fellow NYU graduate, and collaborator Jerry Kolber, Atomic created the darkly-comic docu-series, The Internet Ruined My Life (SyFy) and Brainchild, a high-concept, kids' science/variety show, co-produced by Pharrell Williams for Netflix. Adam has also produced/ directed branded projects for Google, GE, IBM, Drone Racing League, Top Golf, Headspace & Conde Nast. With dozens of original projects airing or in the works, including What's Your Problem? and Making Magic -- Atomic continues its quest for global dominance. In his spare time, Adam continues to write original screenplays and create series ideas.

Although surrounded by family pets from day one, his relationship truly blossomed with animals from 1979 when his father bought a piece of land in the village of Shepreth, just outside Cambridge, where he built his dream home. At this time he began to take in wildlife to rehabilitate and this was the beginning of Shepreth Wildlife Park.Jake spent the weekdays of his childhood living with his mother and sister in Cambridge and his weekends working at the wildlife park with his father. Alongside his affection for mammals Jake began nurturing a fascination for reptiles and invertebrates. At the age of 9 he was asked to care for a friend's corn snake for a few months; on one occasion it escaped and slept with him curled up under his sheets. By the age of 11 years Jake had a pet Imperial scorpion. Keen to learn more about nature in general, at 16 Jake got certified as a scuba diver and became fascinated with the underwater world. At the age of 22 he became desperate to see more of the world and so travelled and worked in Australia for a year; this was partly to quench his desire of diving on the Great Barrier Reef. During this time he worked as a builder's labourer, a hostel manager and Harley Davidson chauffeur to fund the trip. (Oh, and had great fun surfing!)On his return to England Jake decided to train for a career that would give him the option of emigrating to Australia in the future. He chose to train as a chef for two years. Having had a long-term fascination with flying and dangerous activities he also took up skydiving. In 1995, Jake returned to western Australia to fulfill a burning ambition to snorkel with the whale shark on the Ningaloo Reef. While there he spent three months scuba diving and skydiving. It was during this second visit to Australia while swimming with the whale shark that Jake's path became clear to him and he returned to Shepreth Wildlife Park to make a serious commitment to furthering its work. It wasn't long before he stamped his own identity on the place by creating a new exhibit, Waterworld and Bug City, dedicated to the creepy crawlies and underwater life of the wild. This was to be a turning point in his career as it was this feature which propelled Jake into the world of TV as presenter on National Geographic Channel's 'Insects From Hell' series. Having spent so many years surrounded by wildlife, Jake found himself in some pretty tricky situations. When he was five he was bitten on the knee by a lion cub. Today’s episode is with Anita Moorjani. After a 4-year battle with cancer, Anita fell into a coma and was given days to live. As her doctors gathered to revive her, she journeyed into a near-death experience (NDE) where she was given the choice to return to her physical form or to continue into this new realm. She chose the former, and when she regained consciousness, her cancer began to heal. To the amazement of her doctors, she was free of countless tumors and cancer indicators within weeks. Her book Dying To Be Me has sold over a million copies worldwide, in over 45 languages. It has been named a Contemporary Classic and a Foreign Language Phenomena by her publishers. Anita was a protégé of the late, great Dr. Wayne Dyer, who brought her onto the world’s stage in 2011. She is a great speaker and has gone on to capture the hearts and attention of millions across the globe and has been a featured guest on The Dr. Oz Show, Fox News, The Today Show, CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, the National Geographic Channel, The Pearl Report in Hong Kong, Headstart with Karen Davila and more. She is also the author of “What if this is heaven”, and “Love: A Story about who you really are”. I had the pleasure of hearing her inspiring talk at a conference last fall, and I am delighted to welcome her to the show to talk about a highly requested topic, near-death experiences. I also read her book Dying To Be Me years ago and was so moved by it. We talk about the following and so much more: ✅ What her experience of NDE was like the major takeaways ✅What she saw on the other side and why this was so meaningful? ✅How her experience change her views on life, death, and the nature of reality ✅ Her understanding of the connection between NDEs, spirituality, and healing ✅Whether consciousness is local, or non-local? ✅What her new book “What if this is heaven” is about and why she decided to write it. He hosts a popular MasterClass on sales and persuasion, and he appears frequently on NPR, PBS, ABC, CNN, and other TV and radio networks in the US and abroad.  He has been a contributing editor at Fast Company and Wired as well as a business columnist for The Sunday Telegraph. His articles and essays have also appeared in The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, The Atlantic, Slate, and other publications. Before venturing out on his own 20 years ago, Dan worked in several positions in politics and government, including serving as chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore from 1995 to 1997. He received a BA from Northwestern University and a JD from Yale Law School. In this episode we discuss the following:  Just get started. So often we want to wait for the perfect time or conditions to do something. But in reality, the best way to find motivation to do things is to just get started. Acting creates motivation. If you don't feel like writing, but then you start writing, you will then feel like writing. Julius Erving: “Being a professional is doing what you love to do, even on the days you don't feel like doing it.” “If I decided that I was going to write when I was inspired, I would never write a word.” Instead, I show up in my office, I give myself a word count, and I don't do anything until I hit that number. Once I start writing I feel like writing. I wish someone had told me when I was younger that action created motivation. It took me a while to figure that out and put it in practice. Our intuition reverses the sequence. We think we have to feel a certain way to act, when in fact you can act your way into feelings. Don't wait until you feel like doing something to act. Act, and then in most cases, you'll feel like doing it. Start with generosity. In almost any interaction you have, lead with generosity. It makes us feel better, and there are also massive returns to us. If we make our default setting to be generous, we may have to switch off the default for some people, but most people are worthy of our generosity. Beautifully illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat and packed with animal facts, Sharks (A Day in the Life) encourages humans to look at sharks as endangered animals who play a key role in the ocean's ecosystem. Our guest is Carlee Jackson-Bohannon, who is a marine biologist studying sharks and sea turtles in Florida. His dad used to say, “That boy knows what's under every rock between here and town.” He still roams the woods today. He has traveled from the Canadian North to the Central American jungles studying plant and animal life and seeking out the traditional wisdom of people with intimate connections to the natural world.
